Introduction
Paru is a bit of an odd duckling. Blind in his left and right eyes, Paru's single functioning eye gets rather overwhelmed easily, resulting in migraines and headaches. Paru also suffers from chronic neck pain, a result of constantly having to swivel his head around in rather avian-like movements. He learned to do this from a young age in order to get a better glimpse of his surroundings, as his depth and peripheral vision is quite poor. Luckily, Paru's other mutations - primarily his wings -- are far 'prettier' to look at, and actually fully functional.
Because of his poor vision, Paru has found it difficult learning how to communicate. Instead of striving to enhance his linguistic skills, Paru shut down as a child due to his disability. When he does speak, he speaks softly, and not very much. It takes a very special soul to raise Paru's voice and get him talking about things.
