A blonde girl sat down next to Gwen. Extremely pretty, which explained her divine parentage. "Hi," she murmured. Gwendolyn watched as Emma took out a big yellow coin.

Petria smiled, her natural southern hospitality coming out. "Hey, sorry for gettin' you two down. My name's Petria." She offered a hand to shake. "So where's you two comin' from? Do you know who your god parent is?" she asked, her usual sense of ADD taking over, and her need to talk. She wasn't usually this personable, but practice with her older siblings and the natural "charmspeak" she had, it was getting easier by the day.

Gwendolyn shook the offered hand. "I'm, uh, Gwendolyn. I'm from Boston. And I'm undetermined." She felt uncomfortable. Petria seemed nice enough, though it was weird having so many people talk to her at once. Gwen was those kids you would find in th corner of a library, not at the center of any attention.

Petria's eyes lit up at the mention of Boston, "Really? What's it like there? Have you ever been to Fenway Park?" She had suddenly lost any reservations talking to her. Being a traditional down south girl, her life before demi-godhood had been about three things, the ranch, baseball, and football. Her favorite team was always the Boston Red Sox, followed closely by her home team of the Texas Rangers. She then turned her attention towards her completely, letting her charm-speak try to warm up the girl a little socially.

I made an iris message to my dad. "I'm Emma Blake by the way" I said to the girls before it connected. "Daughter of Athena" I added then turned back to the iris message. This time the image was my sister Kate and my dad cooking something. They turned around. I smiled at them. "Hey sis" Kate said sweetly. She also wasn't surprised. The same reaction my dad had given the first time I iris messaged him. Just like an image of mist with his daughters face on it was a run-of-the-mill thing. "You too?" I asked Kate. She just smiled.

The moment Petria spoke, Gwen felt more comfortable and able to talk freely. "It's really busy. Lots of strange things happen there all the time. I've gone to Fenway, maybe, three times? I'm not sure. You're a Red Sox fan?" she asked. The Red Sox ... Her mother's favorite team ... Why did she feel so ... unlike herself? "A-are you c-controlling me or something?" Gwen managed to stammer. Hey, if you're parents was a Greek god, anything was possible, right?

Even though Petria knew that to an extent using her powers on the girl was a bit rude and unorthodox, she smiled and shook her head. "It's something natural that Aphrodite kids do. No need to be alarmed." She layered her voice heavily with the charmspeak when she stressed the fact that there wasn't a need to panic, so both girls would listen to her. Then she laid off on the charmspeak, just to seem natural. "Yah, I love the Sox. My daddy 'nd I were huge fans. I always wanted to go see a game at Fen. Of course, all these New York kids are Yankee's." She made a face as if she was disgusted, which she quite was. "Dang Yankee's, they should all just drop dead from those paychecks and steroids they use. Though don't tell anyone here at camp I said that. You know how rivalries can grow. It's our little secret. Right y'all?"

"Naturally? Right, no need to worry..." she murmured, swaying slightly. She shook her head, and fingered her Swiss Army knife. "Maybe you can visit with me when I go home," if I do, she added silently. "I never understood why everyone hates the Yankees. But yeah, I won't tell." She looked back at the sea again, feeling overloaded. People can control you with their voice? What kind of place is this?

Looking at the distressed girl, Petria both felt ecstatic that her powers had worked so well, as well as the fact that she may have mentally harmed the girl. "You alright missy?" she asked, wary of the knife the girl carried, as well as her rapier, which thankfully she didn't need to carry on her hip. The sheath was cleverly designed to be part of her bracelet, so that all she needed to do was twist the bracelet, and then it would be the blade. "I didn't mean any harm." she spoke her reconciliatory message with a small layering of charmspeak, so that her truth wouldn't be rejected, and would be considered.

I talked for a while. "Yeah I defiantley miss that place" Kate sighed. "That makes one of us" I muttered. Kate just smiled. "I miss. Maybe I can see you this summer" she said. "I hope so." I looked back at the two girls. I could tell things were getting a little...heated, maybe. "Go to go" I said quickly to Kate and waved my hand through the mist. I raced back over to the group. "Calm down guys. No one draw weapons please." I said reassuringly. Then I figured I probably should explain how I knew what they were feeling. Most people thought I was some freak becuase of it. "P.S. I can kinda of read people thoughts. Well sorta not the words more the feeelings" I laughed half-heartedly.

"Oh, I know," she reassured her. Gwen looked up and caught Petria staring at her knife. Time to show off a little, she thought, smiling slightly. Casually, she took out the sword from the gadget. It elongated into a full size sword with a golden hilt. Gwen scraped something carefully off her shoe, trying to look like taking out the sword had a purpose. After a few seconds of mindlessly scraping, she murmured, "Shorten," in Ancient Greece. The sword turned into a mini-sword, which she carefully placed in the Swiss Army knife. Gwen looked up as Emma an running back. "I wasn't going to hurt her," Gwendolyn said innocently. "That's ... cool, I guess."

"Oh...Sorry" She didn't really seem like the type of girl when I thought about it. I turned bright red hoping she wouldn't be mad at me. I sat down next to the two. I still didn't look at Gwen.

"It's fine," Gwen told Emma. "I can guess how it looked from your point of view." She smiled reassuringly. "But I can't wait to try it out." Her eyes sparkled. She wanted to see how good she really was with a weapon.

"How 'bout now?" I asked. I stood up and touched the owl necklace around my neck it suddenly turned into my beautiful sword. I gently slide my fingers acrossed the blades flat end. I felt the indent of the words in ancient greek. It sparkled in the sun. I loved this thing. I moved it around to catch different angles of the sun.

"Thought you'd never ask," she said, grinning. She took out her sword and held it at the ready, just like her Uncle taught her. Wait, she thought. If Emma could read thoughts, could she know what moves I would try? Now, Gwen was nervous.
