@DBL Ughhh All the best Cons are in Cali >: Oh well, Metro and AFO are coming up and they're in a week of eachother xD Should be fun lol! I can't wait to see that video c:

So how is everybody? cx Well to be fair the only reason we get the big ones (E3 and Sigraph) is because nearly all of the gaming/tech industry is also in California, as well as 90% of the big media.

True. I wish More of the gaming industry would move to Florida D: It would probably make my job search after my four years in college easier too xD
Though I am looking forward to going to college owo Apparently one of our projects as a first year student it to make a boat, and then test it out to see if it floats or sinks LOL

Video of 09's projects XDPsht, you'd think it would make getting a job in the industry easier but it really doesn't. I've know how to character model, 2d model, animate, rig, texture, etc, etc, etc basically I'm trianed to do about 6 different positions in the industry and STILL can't get a job. The culprit is still the economy, hell look at EA one of the biggest of the bunch out there, they just laid off 1,000 employees for the second time in a few years.

They have a really good reputation with a lot of the more major companies (Blizzard, EA, and Harmonix just to name a few) and a 90% placement rate 6 months after graduation c:
I'm truly lucky to live in FL in that regard, since I get a lot of assistance for staying in state (Yay Ringling!)
But I'm most likely not just going to be looking for a job specifically to work with Video games, as an illustrator I'll have a lot of opportunities for a lot of different things c:

I'm truly lucky to live in FL in that regard, since I get a lot of assistance for staying in state (Yay Ringling!)
But I'm most likely not just going to be looking for a job specifically to work with Video games, as an illustrator I'll have a lot of opportunities for a lot of different things c: Ah well lucky you. My parents didn't want jack squat to do with helping me with any sort of college money so I just went to community college. Luckily a few of my professors have worked in in the industry (and since you mentioned blizzard I should mention the radio show I'm working for headed by the proff that taught me antimation, worked at blizzard on world of warcraft). So while I don't have the big school, I'm gaining in contacts at least. Though I'm not limiting myself to games either, I "want" to do games. But all those skills are also necessary for many movies, advertising, magazines, etc.

Yeah, My Mom can't help me out in the way of school either, But I got a LOT of scholarships and even with taking about 5 Grand out in loans I'm still short about $600 not to mention books and supplies OTL
BUT it is a 40k/year tuition so I'm pretty proud of myself c:
And in reality contacts is what it all comes down to, that's so cool that your prof worked for blizzard! biggrin I'm also planning on taking 3D Modeling classes, just so I can say I can do more than just draw, because as an artist that's what really sets you apart from other applicants and opens up your job perspective, is being versatile.
Myself personally I would LOVE to do Concept art for video games, but seeing as that's a very competitive job field I'm not going to limit myself by saying that's all I'll do, since making money is money and I'll have a lot of debt after college x.x;

4:10 A.M. and I'm off to the first opening day of E3 (all that stuff on G4 yesterday was just media previews, all the exhibit floor opens today).

Dark Bunny Lord Zelkmaster DBL... unless you're already dating someone, it's never pointless to hit on someone XD Pssh, yes it is. Nothing would come of it lol, was with a group of 20 or so people that was on the move so couldn't stay long for anything to come of it then and definitely couldn't make the drive to meet up on any relatively regular bases xp Anywho, long time no see man. Well I suppose if you're looking for a longer term relationship flirting won't help now, but I mean seriously, who does that? XDDD ... *guiltily raises hand* But anyway, I'm lurking at the moment... I'll probably be trying to get a little bit more active during the summer, and then go innactive again towards the beginning of the fall semester. I have a little bit more time on my hands now though XD My boyfriend will probably be joining me as well. He wanted to try out roleplaying because I explained it to him and I figured this was probably the best place to do it XD
