The redhead smirked back across the battlefield at Ben. "Thanks," he called back. "Your... Scizor is pretty tough too." At first Keegan had intended on complimenting the Mawile, but changed his mind. It probably was a good Pokemon, just not against a beast like his Kangaskhan. He glanced back at the Scizor, and then to Moeder again. He wasn't sure how much longer she'd be able to keep battling, as she had taken a couple of pretty solid hits from the Mawile before it had started chewing on its own face, but he figured they might as well do as much as they could before she was taken out. The Parent Pokemon let out a roar of pain as she was slammed by the glowing claw, but she wasn't down for the count as of yet.

"Moeder, give 'em a Dizzy Punch," Keegan said finally, watching the Lairon fall to the ground out of the corner of his eye. All right, Prickles! Moeder gave a quick nod and tromped forward, throwing her fist towards the Scizor with all her might. She would never admit it, but she was hurting after being chomped on and now slugged by the Pincer Pokemon. By no means was she weak, but she wasn't used to battling like this. Sure, she spent most of her time wrangling young Pokemon, but in comparison to an experienced Pokemon like Jackie here, they were nothing.

Jacob was grinning as he recalled his Lairon, not at all upset that it had been totally drained of all its energy by the Cacturne. "Good try, buddy," he said, putting the sphere back in his pocket. "I love that Head Smash of yours!" The crowd had stirred up a little bit now that the familiar Scizor was out on the field, and they seemed to cheer a bit more as Jacob released his battle-scarred Skarmory. Sure, it had been the loser last round, but that didn't mean they weren't happy to see him. "I think it's about time to take that Cacturne down. Give 'em an Aerial Ace!" The bird let out a screech that sounded like steel scraping up against other steel and it dove at Prickles, both wings glowing brightly.
=====
"I gotta admit, this is gonna be more fun than I thought," Eve called from her side of the field, both her Pokemon standing in front of her. They looked a little roughed up, but were still quite eager to fight. "Double Shadow Ball!" she called, slashing the air with her hand.

Okay, she's certainly getting into the battle, Miharu thought with a smile as the Umbreon and Eevee sent a pair of Shadow Balls headed for her Pokemon. "Sparkle, dodge! And Lily, Razor Leaf!" she shouted, knowing it would be easy for the Bulbasaur to hit both opponents with them being so close together. That would be the case, too, as the Seed Pokemon sent a flurry of razor-sharp leaves spiraling towards her targets.

This came at the cost of being slammed by the Umbreon's Shadow Ball, but Lily shook it off, very much able to continue. Sparkle, on the other hand, hesitated and suddenly found herself being bowled over by a ball of shadowy energy. She was still having a hard time seeing thanks to the previous Sand-Attack, so Miharu decided to play it safe for now and called for the Flaaffy to start using Charge. The Flaaffy had to agree with that move, and she hunkered down, building up a tremendous amount of electricity within the woolly spots on her body. When Sparkle can score a hit, it's gonna be a good one, Miharu thought, watching the two opposing Pokemon carefully.

Robin's pokemon were tough but there was no way either of them were getting up after that Captain America shield charge. Both Raz and Brook lay there knocked out in a pile by the wall they had crashed into. "Oh! Wow! You really did kick my butt in that battle! You must have trained for like, ever to have that good team work!" Unlike a lot of trainers Robin wasn't to upset at her lost. Losing happened and it wasn't the end of the world, it just meant that she needed to do a lot more training. Robin recalled her fallen pokemon as the Hiker did causing the Sandstorm to die down until it was clear in the cave.

"Heh, thanks, I spent a long time training those two. They used to fight all the time. You didn't do to bad yourself. A little more practice with your pokemon and they will be a great fighting team." The Hiker was friendly and Robin and him shook hands no hard feelings lost at all. Pushing the goggles up like a headband between her bangs and the rest of her hair Robin grinned over at Ampersand. It was then that Robin saw it. Luffy had her pokenavi and was messing with it. "Luffy no!" Robin yelled as she ran over and snatched it from her friend. She quickly went through it and groaned at all the damage that Luffy had done. He had apparently called several people some from her phone list and some random people. There were a few nonsense texts and her friends all probably thought she was crazy!

"He wasn't supposed to have that?" Ampersand asked curiously peaking over Robins shoulder. She must know her phone pretty well if she was able to navigate it even if it was in Chinese. "Sorry I saw him with it earlier but I figured you knew."

"Gah! Luffy! I didn't teach you Thief!" Robin was mad at her pokemon as she fiddled with her phone before setting it back to English. When she finally fixed it after leaving a quick apology she punched the top of his head. The Ambipom just dropped down onto the ground knocked out from Robins angry punch. It wasn't like he hadn't been hit harder before but for some reason he was knocked right out. Still a little mad at Luffy Robin turned to Ampersand and gave him a small frown. "Luffy is not allowed to have my phone."

"Gotcha. Don't like the lil' brat have the phone." Ampersand repeated in mock seriousness. With that set the two of them headed out Robin dragging Luffy behind her not caring if he was hitting some rocks on the way.

"Diemia, use Protect!" Riza shouted, having had more than enough of that awful Arbok and its attacks. In truth she'd also had enough of that Devon kid, but she still had one more Pokemon to go once she was able to take the Arbok out. The Corphish nodded quickly and raised both her arms high, forming a protective shield around her body and she smirked devilishly as the Arbok's face smashed up against it. "Now follow up with a Brick Break!" Riza called. Diemia let out a grunt as she swung her claws around, scoring an easy hit on the slightly stunned Cobra.

"Dammit," Devon growled, shaking his head. "Arbok Poison Sting!" Looking a bit more shaken up than before, the snake Pokemon reared its head back and fired a large volley of poisonous barbs at the Corphish. Diemia grunted and hunkered down, many of the stingers ricocheting off her hardened shell. She looked up at the Arbok and smirked, giving her claws an obnoxious snap. She was far from finished!

"Diemia, bring it down with a Bubblebeam!" Riza shouted, certain it would be enough. The Corphish had no trouble agreeing with that command and she quickly fired off a strong stream of bubbles, and she and Riza watched with relief as the snake like Pokemon was finally taken down.

'Too bad Kord doesn't have swift yet,' Katie thought, still not sure what to do. For a moment she thought about withdrawing Kord and sending out Seraphim to douse the rabbit Pokemon in Stun Spore, but she didn't think the Elekid would appreciate that very much. At her side, Noa chirped loudly, cheering on the Elekid and telling him not to give up. The Elekid looked over he shoulder at the Staravia and gave her a thumbs up. It was nice to know that someone was on his side.

There, the plug Pokemon was distracted! Buneary decided to take this opportunity to jump forward, her ears rolled back as she once again prepared to slam the Elekid with a Pound attack. "Watch out, Kord! She's attacking!" Katie called. Kord turned in time to see the bunny Pokemon bounding towards him and he leaned back as she struck out with her strong ears. Not knowing what else to do the Elekid lashed out with his hands, scoring a super effective Cross Chop on the Buneary's back. This had the added effect of transferring the static from the Elekid's body onto the Buneary's, and she crashed to the ground heavily, struggling to get up for the first time since Katie had encountered her. "We've got her now," Katie whispered. "Kord, Thundershock!"

Solar Beam, oh no, Jaeshan thought, his stomach bottoming out. Even though the attack would take time to charge, he was certain that Shelgon wouldn't wake up in time. Sure, she was resistant to Grass-type moves, but Solar Beam was one of the most powerful ones out there. "Shelgon, wake up, please!" he called, clapping his hands, stomping his feet and pretty much doing anything he could to generate a lot of noise.

Shelgon slept right through it though, and waking up didn't seem like a very fun thing to do right now. She was dreaming that she had sprouted wings and was soaring through the air. She was untouchable now! The dragon let out a mighty roar to show everyone how strong she'd become, though in reality she'd only let out a grumpy sounding snore, for she was still soundly asleep.
=-=-=-=-=

All right, she's not waking up, Erika thought gleefully, looking over at Vileplume as she continued to draw in sunlight for her upcoming attack. She had to admit that a part of her felt sorry for the Shelgon, lying there all helpless and asleep. The other part of her, however, was most definitely a leader trying to defend her gym, and she crossed her fingers as she hoped that Shelgon wouldn't wake up in time.

Vileplume's petals all began to glow brightly as the last few rays of sunlight were absorbed, and she was practically standing on tiptoe in excitement. It always felt good to unleash the punishing solar rays on her opponent, and she tilted her head as Erika gave the command. "Fire the Solar Beam!" the dark-haired gym leader called, her voice firm and confident. Vileplume gave a cry as the blinding beam was blasted forward, giving off so much light that even Erika had to shield her eyes.

"Oh man, I can't believe you took him down," Devon sighed as he recalled his newly evolved Arbok. "And I was so happy that he finally evolved, too."

"He's strong," Riza said quickly, even though she still thought it was a creepy Pokemon. "With more training he'll get even stronger, don't give up on him."

"Heh, don't worry I won't," the boy said, holding up his final poke ball. "This one is my strongest so I hope you're ready! I choose you, Mankey!" he cried, throwing the sphere. The pig monkey Pokemon burst out of the ball and let out a screech, slashing at the air with its paws. It was by far one of the most energetic Pokemon Riza had seen yet. "Mankey, lead off with Fury Swipes!" Devon shouted, and the monkey darted forward, eager to tear its claws into Diemia.

"Use Harden!" Riza called quickly, realizing at that point that she hadn't been trying very hard to have her Pokemon use any combinations, but that was possibly because Eris hadn't learned any yet and neither had Plua, and Diemia didn't seem to care about making her attacks look good, she was all about dishing out the hurt. The Corphish pulled her claws in closer to her as she felt her shell grow even harder, and it was just in time too as the Mankey jumped on her, slashing away with is claws in an almost desperate attempt to hit her.

The Buneary was still trying to get to her feet as Kord began to windmill his arms, creating the energy for his Thundershock. The Rabbit Pokemon was greatly hindered by her paralysis though and by the time she had managed to get to her feet again the lighting was already streaking towards her. All she could do is close her eyes as she felt her whole body get the shock of her life, and as she fell back to the ground the last thing she saw was the human with the long, orange ponytails tossing a red and white sphere her way.

"Come on," Katie whispered as the rabbit Pokemon was sucked into the poke ball, and it dropped to the ground, shaking lightly. Three pairs of eyes watched intently as the ball came to rest and emitted a light chiming noise, signaling the Buneary's capture. "All right!" Katie cheered, jumping up and down. Kord did the same, only his celebration was punctuated with bright sparks of electricity. Noa gave a chirp of delight as the Elekid rushed over to Katie and jumped up into her outstretched arms. "You did it," she laughed, hugging him tightly. "Well, it was a team effort since Miles did a lot too, but you guys are both awesome!" The Elekid scrambled up onto her shoulder as Katie walked over to the poke ball and picked it up. "Welcome to the team, Nell," she said, already bestowing the Buneary with a name. "I think you'll make a fine addition."

Katie put the sphere on her belt before recalling both Noa and Kord to their respective poke balls, and she took the time to study her surroundings. The so called rock that Kord and Miles had initially trapped Nell against was actually a large chunk of an old stone wall, but it was so overgrown with moss that it was hard to tell. Katie thought for a moment before she realized that she had discovered the Old Chateau, and she smiled, knowing that the exit to Eterna City wasn't far from here.

No! Jaeshan thought desperately as the powerful Solar Beam was fired, and though he wanted to close his eyes, he was unable to tear his gaze away from the sleeping Shelgon. The Solar Beam slammed into the snoozing dragon at full blast, hitting her so hard that she skidded back a few feet on the ground. In her dream, Shelgon suddenly began to feel very hot. She looked up and realized that she was flying too close to the sun! She cried out and flapped her wings, trying to reverse her flight, but it was no use - she was just too close! It burned, it burned so bad! But then the burning stopped and she opened her eyes, realizing that it had been a terrible, terrible dream. The dragon got to her feet and shook herself a bit, feeling as though she really had flown into the sun. Jaeshan, in the meantime, couldn't believe that Shelgon had not only awoken, but was standing after taking the full force of that Solar Beam. I must have underestimated her, he thought as he pointed at the Vileplume. "Shelgon, Flamethrower, now!"

Shelgon was more than happy to oblige and she quickly loosed an intense stream of flames that swallowed up the Vileplume before it could so much as blink, and both the blonde haired trainer and his Shelgon let out a triumphant cheer as the Flower Pokemon slumped to the ground, defeated.

Erika was also unable to believe that the Shelgon was able to get up and attack, but she smiled as she recalled her fallen Vileplume. "That match was awesome," she said, walking out to greet Jaeshan in the center of the battlefield as he recalled his Pokemon as well. "I can't remember the last time I got so riled up." She held out her hand, a beautiful badge resting in her palm. It was very colourful and glittered brightly, and she handed to Jaeshan. "You've earned the Rainbow Badge, congratulations," she said, grinning from ear to ear. She also bestowed upon him his cash winnings, as well as her favourite TM - Giga Drain before escorting him out of the gym. "Thank you for a great match," she said, waving.

"No, thank you, Erika. That was the most intense battle I have ever fought." The two trainers bid each other farewell and went their separate ways - Erika back into the gym, and Jaeshan in the direction of the Pokemon Center. He was very proud of all of his Pokemon, Metang included, and he was eager to get them all healed and rested up. Four Kanto badges down, four to go, he thought to himself, unable to stop smiling as he headed for the red-roofed building.

Still holding his head, Mike listened as as Nina began to explain what happened with Anna. However, when their eyes met, a sudden sensation ran through his head. A loud screaming sound rang through his ears, followed by a mass of voices. He recognized them all.

What's that? All except one.

Not one of ours.

Whatever it was, it wasn't familiar. It wasn't safe. It wasn't welcome. Mike's brain began to roar with activity, all the voices shouting in unison: Get it out. Get it out. Get it out. Get it out.

"Get it out. Get it out! GET IT OUT!" Mike repeated, shaking his head side to side as the images flashed in his head. IT was like they were being pulled from his brain out his ears. "They're mine! You can't have them!" He snarled, glaring at Nina, who was now rolling around on the floor in pain. He managed a laugh. "Ss-something n-ot agreeing withh you?!" He said, tilting his head to the side. His voice carried a slight hiss.

"It's not like we asked you to hop in there." he said, his tone much softer and more reserved, completely different than before.

"I c-can't take it! NothingisasitseemsMYMRAINISBELTINGgetoutgetoutgetout." He violently tossed his head from side to side, trying to shake himself free of whatever mental hold Nina had put him in. "GET IT OU-!" Mid swing he froze, a slight pop echoed in the sudden silence. Mike's eyes rolled back into his head, and things began to get dark.

Mike slowly centered himself and looked straight at Nina, his eyes now all white. A smile cracked on his lips. What was this before him? It seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite place it.

A threat.

A threat? Was that what it was?

It's a threat. A danger. Kill it before it kills you!

A threat! Mike leaned forward. A soft, low, almost musical laughter rang from his lips as he threw his hand forward towards the floating phantom. From his hand soared a blast of fire, aimed straight for Anna. Whatever this danger was, he was going to make sure it didn't get him.

Sasha knew there was nothing she or Prickles could do to avoid the Aerial Ace. Even if it wasn't a tracing move, the Cacturne was severely injured and rooted to the ground. Prickles closed his eyes and braced for the inevitable. The attack slammed him in the chest, sending him crashing to the ground. His roots bounced him back up, and he hung limply. The crowd let out a respectful round of applause at the fall of the Cacturne. Sasha almost felt a tear rising up to her eye as she took in the audiences cheers. "Merci! Merci!" she said happily as she recalled her Pokemon. She planted a soft kiss on the Pokeball and muttered one final 'Merci.' to Prickles before clipping him back to the belt where he would rest. Her eyes then turned to Jacob. "You hurt my precious Preeckles. Maintenant, vous allez souffrir." No more games.

Sasha took off Kitsune's Pokeball and threw it out onto the battlefield. The crowd took in a collective breath as the Ninetales appeared. They knew this was bad news for both Steel Pokemon. "Kitsune, succès qui bug avec votre Lance-flamme." The Ninetales lowered herself to the ground and flared her many tails. After a deep breath, Kitsune fired a powerful stream of fire that shot right past Keegan's Kangaskhan and slammed into the side of the unsuspecting Scizor.

Ben was just about to order Jackie to Counter the red-head's Dizzy Punch, but the sudden wave of fire put a stop to that. Before Ben realized what happened his Pokemon was on the ground and there was nothing he could do about it. "Oh no! Jackie!" he cried out. He had been so absorbed in his fight with Keegan he failed to even notice Sasha sending out her Ninetales.

If Diemia could have laughed, she probably would have, as the Mankey's Fury Swipes barely seemed to phase her. The monkey Pokemon seemed infuriated by this and jumped back, its brows furrowed with rage. "Diemia, do Harden, one more time," she called, deciding then that she wanted the Corphish to be as difficult to damage as possible, and the fact that her ability made her immune to critical hits would only add to that. Diemia scuttled back, her shell giving off a bit of a shimmer as it hardened once more, and now the Corphish was beginning to feel unstoppable!

Devon was now wearing a frown, as he was losing confidence now that he was down to his lat Pokemon, and Riza still had one left after her Corphish, and that was if he managed to take it down. He still had faith in his Mankey, as it was his strongest Pokemon. "We're just going to have to hit them harder!" he called. "Mankey, slam 'em with a Karate Chop!" The little ape gave a loud screech and darted forward once again, its eyes filled with murderous intent. Devon laughed a bit, as it never did take much for his Mankey to get all riled up. Its long, white tail streamed out behind it as it ran forward, raising one arm high as it prepared to deliver a powerful chop to the Corphish's back.

"Diemia, take it, and fight back with a Vicegrip!" Riza shouted, hoping her Corphish could react quick enough and grab hold of the Mankey somehow. Diemia was easily on the same page as her trainer and braced herself, grunting as she felt the chop connect with her body. She narrowed her eyes and swung out with her claw, just missing the furry white Pokemon's arm by the barest of inches though she did manage to hammer in a fairly solid strike. 'Nice,' Riza thought, though it wasn't quite what she had hoped for. 'I can't wait until she learns how to use Crabhammer.'

It was maybe twenty minutes to half an hour later when Katie finally exited the forest and started along the northern end of route 205. It lead out to a large body of water, a boardwalk serving as a bridge across it. It was a beautiful area and Katie looked around with wide eyes. She'd been to Eterna City with her mother a few times but she'd never seen this place before as they'd always flown in by helicopter. There were many middle-aged men lined up along the railing of the boardwalk and most of them appeared to be fishing. As Katie approached them she wasn't so sure if they were fishing as opposed to exchanging stories.

"I swear I caught a Magikarp that was this big!" one fisherman was boasting, holding his arms out in front of him to show the length of his supposed catch.

"Oh yeah? That's nothing! I caught me a Whiscash that was THIS big!" another said loudly, doing his best to make sure his arms were extended further a part.

"You're both lame," a third was laughing. "The other day I fished me up a mighty Gyarados!" The other two oohed at this and they went on chatting away, not even noticing as Katie passed them by. It was probably for the better though as they most likely would have challenged her to battle, and though she still had Pokemon that were strong, she really wanted to go and get Miles and Nell healed. 'Then we can go out and find some battles, we gotta train up for our next gym match,' she thought excitedly as she headed for the pokecenter.

Like Ben, Keegan's attention had been focused on the tough Scizor, and he'd been too concerned with trying to decide what he would do next (assuming Moeder were to survive the next strike) so he didn't seen the Ninetales released onto the field, either. Evidently he wouldn't have to worry about the Scizor as suddenly a powerful blast of fire sped right past Moeder, who thankfully had taken a step back, and a second or so later Jackie stood before them, nothing more than a blackened husk of a Pokemon. Moeder gave a toothy grin and reached out, giving the roasted Scizor a light thwack on the head with her fist, roaring with laughter as he fell to the ground, very much unable to continue. Keegan blinked a few times before looking over at the offending fire type, a little surprised to see that Sasha had a Ninetales with her as well. Both his surprise and Moeder's laughter were cut short as Jacob's Skarmory had suddenly dive-bombed the Kangaskhan and hit her hard, both wings glowing brightly - a Steel Wing. Moeder let out a pained groan as she started to fall, her eyes already closed, but Keegan held up her Safari Ball and recalled her before she could hit the pavement.

"Kind of a cheap shot, but whatever," the redhead shrugged, clipping the camouflage-patterned sphere to his belt. He looked over at the female Ninetales, wondering what would happen if he sent out Helios. After all, the last time he'd seen Sasha, he hadn't yet evolved him. "Yeah, why not?" he laughed, grabbing the first PokeBall set in his belt and letting it fly - after all, he still had one Pokemon left to send out. "Helios, let's show 'em your Heat Wave!" The ever-proud Ninetales burst from his PokeBall, already gathering power for his signature attack. Each of his tails danced around him as though they had minds of their own, and it wasn't until he was scorching the obnoxious Skarmory with a blast of super-heated air that he noticed Kitsune. The fox turned to study the female, his interest in the battle lost, though it was of little consequence for the Skarmory fell from the sky and crashed into the pavement a moment later before being recalled by Jacob. Keegan smiled and folded his arms over his chest - that win sure felt good. "So, any other takers?" he asked, looking around at the crowd as Helios shamelessly began to flirt with Kitsune.
=====
"Umbreon, use Confuse Ray on the Bulbasaur!" Eve shouted, hoping to slow up the Seed Pokemon and hopefully gain the upper hand. The Moonlight Pokemon growled and narrowed his golden eyes at Lily, the ring on his forehead emitting a strange glow. Lily groaned and closed her eyes as she suddenly began to feel as though someone had stuffed her head full of cotton balls. She dropped to her belly, her vines shooting out from her sides and she began to whip them wildly, hardly even noticing that she was hitting herself in the process.

"Lily, stop!" Miharu called, flinching as the Bulbasaur wailed on herself with her own attacks. Lily was far too confused to hear her trainer, though she did retract her vines. She wasn't sure what was going on, but her body was hurting.

Eve, upon seeing that the Bulbasaur was occupied, looked over to her young Eevee, which was staring warily at the still-charging Sparkle. "Quick Attack!" she yelled, hoping that a hit-and-run tactic would work while the Flaaffy was still blinded. The little brown Pokemon gave a cry and sprinted forward, a trail of light streaking out from behind him. He lowered his head as he plowed into Sparkle, knocking them both to the ground once again. Sparkle bleated painfully and released all her stored energy at once - a Thunderbolt. The Eevee had nowhere to go and was hit square in the chest by a large bolt of electricity which sent him skidding back. He staggered to his feet and let out an angry growl before his entire body began to shine as brightly as the sun...

"Mike, calm down!" Nina begged, her eyes focusing a bit, helping to relieve some of the double vision that she was experiencing. Her head was still throbbing immensely; it was as if about a million jackhammers were thundering down upon her brain. She had to make the pain stop; if it became too much more severe, she was afraid that she might submit to unconsciousness. And with Mike in his current state, being unconscious was the very last thing that Nina wanted.

There was also the potential matter that she may submit to a type of insanity.

The answer to her problems seemed clear: she would have to block out everything that was being given off from Mike's mind. With most people, it would be a cakewalk to block out their thoughts, but due to Mike's special case... well, it wouldn't be quite so easy. She looked toward her crazed friend, her vision still impaired, and tried to concentrate. I have to block his thoughts out... not only for my safety, but for his, too... Her breathing was somewhat labored. "Mike, I--"

It was in that moment that, while everything happened so quickly, time seemed to simultaneously slow down. Through her unfocused eyes, Nina could vaguely make out Mike raising one of his hands, thrusting it in her general direction. He manifested a fireball, expelling it from his hand.

Anna was struck by the full force of the fireball and was knocked to the ground almost immediately; she was more surprised than hurt. A soft chuckle escaped the Ghost. "I sense the fire of Moltres in you," she said. "Very interesting, Mike..." The Ghost got up from the ground, and hovered back near her partner.

The girl stood in stunned silence for several moments, not sure what to do. Her eyesight came back into focus; she grabbed Anna's Pokeball, and recalled her before she could say anything. She then turned, fixing her gaze upon the boy who stood before her. A blue aura exploded around her body.

"Due to your insanity or otherwise," she said, "I swear that I am going to make you rue the fact that you have just attacked my very best friend."

Her eyes flickered black for all of a split second.

The trip back to the Jubilife pokemon center wasn't really very eventful. They passed a few trainers who looked like they wanted to battle but didn't ask since Robin was dragging an injured pokemon behind her. Now that she was back in the bustling city maybe she could spend some more time here? She hadn't spent a lot of time here before, maybe she could have some fun here? Ampersand seemed to know his way around, maybe they could get something to eat? Unlike Luffy, Raz, and Brook she was really hungry! Plus she should probably give a call to her mom to check up on Black*Star. The two made a quick stop in the pokemon center, there was a small line so Robin decided to bring it up while she was waiting for her pokemon to be healed. "Hey Ampersand, I haven't eaten yet today, is there anything good here?"

"There sure is, you should have eaten before your gym battle though. We can go out and find one after we get out of here."

That settled the two of them waited patiently for Robins pokemon to finish healing. As they waited Robin thought about some training they could do on the way to Eterna City. They would have to get some training in if they wanted to get another gym badge! She really had to work with Ace and Slowpoke. Plus maybe she could work on the teamwork with all of her pokemon? That seemed like a good idea, most of the time they just did their own thing in double battles but that last one showed her that they could work together. With a ding and a call of Robins name they were collecting Robin's pokemon and heading out of the pokemon center. "I know a great sushi place around here, wanna go? I will pay as long as Luffy doesn't eat everything." Ampersand offered with a grin.

"Sushi sounds great!" Robin had only had it once, her parents didn't have enough money for them to go anymore. The three of them, Luffy was being dragged along by Robin still, only this time he was conscious, so as to not get into any trouble. The sushi restaurant was a small place located in a sort of back ally, a hidden restaurant that you really had to know about.

"Hello there Tony!" Ampersand called out as he stepped into the small place.

"Ahaha! Ampersand! It has been so long since I have seen you in a long time!" Ok Tony was really not what you would expect to see in a sushi restaurant serving you sushi. Tony was a large, not in a fat sense just in a 'Wow he sure is big!' sense. He was bald and looked like he could probably be working as a bouncer in a club. "Who is this that you have dragged along with you Amp!"

"My names Robin! Robin Knight, and this is Luffy." Robin wasn't thrown off by Tony and greeted him as happily as she did everyone else.

"Well nice to meet you to Robin and Luffy! My name is Tony Tony!"

Junko followed closely behind The silver haired boy, abandoning the park where she was supposed to meet up with her sibling. "So are you a trainer?" She questioned, starting up a new conversation. "That's a nice looking Banette!" She would have asked Mazarin for a battle, however the fact that he had an evolved Pokemon made her assume that it'd be a bad deal on her end. She had barely had her Trainer's License for a day. The purple girl sighed patted Hades lightly on the head. She decided that she should probably hang out around Azalea, trainers her level would be more abundant there, than where she currently was.

Hades stuck close to Maz's Banette as they all made the trip to procure some of the sweet, blended beverage that was mentioned before.

This stupid Hoothoot has a nasty attitude, Jomei thought as he watched the owl clobber his poor Cyndaquil. He commanded the dazed Fire Mouse to Tackle it once more, stomping his foot on the ground a few more times. He wasn't going to let the Flying Type win, even if he had to use Tackle a millions times.

Pizza brought himself back to his feet and brushed off a few stray leaves that had collected on his body. He was pretty upset that this bird was making such a fool out of him. He charged with full force at the Owl, who seemed to be laughing, proud of itself for catching the Fire Type off guard. Pizza slammed all of his weight into the creature and sent it rolling across the forest floor.

Having had enough of the thing, Jomei quickly reached for a spare Pokeball, hold the egg in one hand. The boy threw it as hard as he could at the fallen Hoothoot and the bird disappeared into the sphere in a flash of bright red light. The ball wiggled twice before it signaled its capture was successful. Jomei chuckled a bit, surprised that he was actually able to capture a Pokemon. "We did it Pizza!" He shouted over to his companion. "Good job buddy!" He threw his free arm out to his companion that was currently bounding towards him. Pizza, happy to be done with the Flying Pokemon, bounced into his trainer's arm. They celebrated their victory by sharing a chocolate and caramel candy bar the boy had in his bag, completely ignoring the red and white ball that lay about 7 feet away containing their capture.

After taking their time to finish off the snack food, Jomei brought himself to his feet and strolled over to the Hoothoot's Pokeball. He picked it up and stared at it with raised eyebrows. "Stupid thing." he mumbled under his breath. "I guess it needs a name..." He said looking to Pizza, who only tilted his head. "I know! I'll name it Coffee, cause I hate coffee, and it is brown." Satisfied with the name he bestowed upon the bird, he picked up his bag and the egg and motioned for Pizza to follow him. Now the four of them, if you include the egg and the balled Hoothoot, continued on their way to National Park where they were to meet up with Junko.

And so the epic battle began. Fire Mouse vs Owl. The Hoothoot stood on one foot, its right, and constantly rotated his head to keep watch on the Cyndaquil circling it. The sad excuse for a standoff lasted about thirty seconds before it started to tick Cindy off a little. After all, how do you stage a sneak attack on something that apparently has 360 degree vision?

So, with an annoyed grunt she charged forward with a Tackle attack, aiming her skull directly at the place she assumed the Hoothoot’s spine would be. Unfortunately, she wouldn’t make contact. Not just yet.

The owl pokemon’s clawed feet pressed hard against the ground, sending it up in a hop about a foot into the air. It landed with absurd grace atop Cindy’s head, in mid charge even, before hopping off and to the right. The little cyndaquil was driven to the ground with that hop, grimacing.

Of course, any decent battler would follow that up, and Hoothoot was a god among owls. So, immediately after touching down on solid ground, he drove his claws into the ground and pushed off toward Cindy. His tackle didn’t miss. In fact, his crown smashed hard indo Cindy’s side, sending her tumbling off to the right. It let out a chuckle, then a hoot. Don’t tell me that’s the best a trained pokemon can do?

It was at that moment that Cindy decided she would pick up Thunderpunch for the sole purpose of slapping Hoothoot’s in the face. With a growl, she picked herself up off the ground.

“YO, CINDY!”

She glanced over to the right to notice her trainer was able to walk again. She only hoped Scarlet missed her getting owned by something that probably couldn’t even fly yet. “Quil…?”

The red haired teen’s lips curled up into a smirk as he folded his arms, looking around at the grass. “I think you should pull a Solid Snake! Now move!”

And, with the slightest malevolent snicker, the blazing quills on Cindy’s back disappeared, almost as well as she soon faded from visibility as she shot into the tall grass.

The boy was taken aback by the sudden surge of power from the girl. What was going on? She was glowing.

She is frail. Destroy her!
Torch her to ashes. Scatter her across the ground.

Burn. Burn. Burn. Burn. Burn. Burn. Burn.

He lowered himself to the ground, his hands igniting at his sides. Each flame burned wild and erratically, rapidly changing shape. The boy's fingers danced as he circled her, his pupil-less eyes fixed on the psychic. His tongue flicked the roof of his mouth, and with a snarl, he rolled to the side, tossing both fireballs at the girl.

"Nous avons gagné! Nous avons gagné!" Sasha cheered as she jumped up and down in elation. The crowd erupted in applause, and Sasha ran over and clamped onto the side of her partner. "Nous avons été incroyable! Vous avez été incroyable!" She squeezed his arm tight and waved to the stirring masses around them. At the center of an adoring crowd, victorious and beloved: this is where Sasha Jennings Beauchamp IV belonged.

Sasha leaned over and planted a friendly kiss on Keegan's cheek. "We should make a habeet of z'his." she said into his ear with a quiet giggle. Battling was great fun, but it was even more fun when you had someone to share the glory in.

Off to the side, Kitsune was confronted by a rather handsome Ninetales. Seldom, if ever, had she seen another of her kind; at least not one this good looking. His fur was a sharp light golden hue, and his tails were thick and well groomed. Kitsune definitely liked what she saw. The fox walked over and gently brushed up against Helios, rubbing his chin with each of her tails.

Once the crowd died down, and the two boy's that they had challenged had left (following a pleasant exchange of compliments from both sides), Sasha, still holding onto Keegan's arm, suggested that they should go to the Pokemon Center to heal up. She beckoned Kitsune to follow, and ran her hand down the Pokemon's back as she passed by.

Blaine looked up in contemplation as he boarded the helicopter. "You know, Ronald." he said. "After a fine session of training, I feel like I do want a coffee." The pilot went to say something but instead shut his mouth, making sure to let the air out of his nose in as angry and passive-aggressive a manner as possible.

"But I offered to get you one when I was heading ther-" He began before being interrupted by the Gym Leader.

"I didn't want one then, but I want one now! So if you would please take me to that nice new place in Jubilife we can all get on with our lives!"

Ronald sighed, and fired up the engines.

"Besides. I'll buy you one."
"Thank you, sir." his voice oozed with gratitude. The helicopter took to the skies, heading for that fancy coffee shop in Jubilife.
