"Yessir!" she saluted, and he nodded.
"Good. Now, don't hold back just because I'm an old man," he said, a smile appearing on his weathered face.
"You've got it," she agreed as he let his Pokeball fly.
"Pikachu!" a Pikachu appeared in front of him, looking ready for battle.
"Chaaaa!" Shocker cried, and jumped to the floor, eager for a chance to show up another Pikachu.
"No Shocker, not yet," Kasiya said softly, and the Pikachu retreated behind her, looking rather grumpy. She thought a moment, then smiled to herself, and chose her Pokemon.
"Poorree!" Ariel materialized in front of her, pawing the floor anxiously.
"Interesting," Mr. Reid said slowly, but shrugged. "Let's start! Pikachu! Use a Quick Attack!" he bellowed.
"Ariel! Quick Attack too!" Kasiya cried. The floor was suddenly covered in two streaks - one blue, one yellow. They clashed several times before ending up back at their starting points.

Nina raised an eyebrow. "Why is she sending out Ariel?" she asked. Regal replied, "Don't worry, Miss Nina. I am certain that Miss Kasiya is sure of what she is doing."
Nina shrugged a little bit. "I hope you're right..."

Mike whipped around to see the battle. "A water type versus an Electric? Surely she's lost it." Mike glanced at Shiver, who was eyeing the place nervously. I hate lightning. I hate lightning. I hate lightning. I hate lightning! He repeated to himself in terror.
Nitro whapped him in the back of the shell Oh get over it! He snarled.
Oh yeah? What about the little incident on the boat Mr. Fearless? Portabello smirked, knowing he got him good.
Well, I...I did no wet myself! That's it! Nitro bared his claws.
Shiver and Portabello just laughed, as Proton joined in.

"This doesn't seem to be working," Mr. Reid chuckled. "Let's give that Vaporeon a jolt! Thundershock!"
Kasiya grimmaced, knowing this would sting. Ariel took the hit, wincing, but stared at the Pikachu, her diamond-like eyes unblinking. Ariel had quite a reserve of health, but Kasiya didn't know how many attacks it would take to bring her down. She also didn't know if this Pikachu knew Thunderbolt or not.
"Don't take that sitting down," Kasiya yelled loudly. "Use Ice Beam!" Her voice reverberated off the walls and throughout the gym. Ariel reared back and fired a powerful-looking icy blue streak at the Pikachu who took it head on. Shards of ice shattered to the ground, and the Pikachu looked rather dazed, and a possibly a bit frostbitten. "Cool," Kasiya grinned to herself.
"Clever," Reid said, chuckling. "How about we give her a taste of your Thunderbolt?" The Pikachu grinned, shaking off some more bits of ice. It jumped forward, its cheeks sparking wildly.
"Quick Attack!" Kasiya yelled suddenly. Ariel charged head on into the Pikachu before it could get the attack off, catching it off guard. It got back to its feet, looking tired, but managed to hit Ariel with a strong burst of electricity. She squealed in pain, hitting the floor hard, and she struggled to get back to her feet. Both Pokemon were breathing heavily and injured pretty badly, but neither seemed to want to give in.

Nina bit her lip as she watched Kasiya's battle. "No... this isn't going very well for her at all..." Angel looked a bit sad, and she chirped a little bit.
"No," Nina said, "don't use Softboiled on her. That would be cheating." She patted Angel's head, and Mihoshi hovered near Anna. They all watched intently.

I''''ll show you who''''s scared! Nitro pulled his head back and unleashed a mighty Flamethrower attack on Portabello.
EEK! Shreiked the Breloom as his body caught fire. Not fair! Shiver! He called out, Shiver hopping over and dousing the flames. You will regret that! He shot a death glare at the Charmeleon, bulking up.
Take this Nitro! Shiver hopped back and started to unleash a might wave, but was soon struck by a powerful Thunderbolt. Proton! Nitro cried in happyness as the Magnemite hovered over to his side, the two teams glaring at each other. I''''m on your team!

Sabrina and Regal turned their heads to see a double battle going on, between Nitro, Portabello, Shiver, and Proton. Sabrina rolled her eyes.
"Everyone!" Regal said, to the fighting Pokemon. "You are all on the same side, and should not be fighting one another! Furthermore, your insignificant quarrel is more than likely distracting Kasiya from her own battle!"

Take this! Portabello struck first, unleashing a powerful Mach Punch on Nitro, quickly returning to his side of the arena. Not bad, how bout this? Nitro bared his claws and fired another Flamethrower at the Breloom, which connected with terrible power, and sent him a few feet back. Ah! Hot hot hot!
Shiver was next, who fired a huge wave at Proton and Nitro, it struck the Charmeleon with critical force, as with the Magnemite. Oh yeah? Take this! Proton fired a huge bolt of electriciy. Ack! The cloyster fidgeted around a bit from the attack, but regained composure.
They all stopped to look at the Slowking. They looked at eachother and dashed outside.

Regal let out a very exasperated sigh. "Those Pokemon still behave as if they were in their unevloved forms..." He sighed again, and turned to continue watching Kasiya's battle.

Uh oh, Kasiya thought as she watched Ariel struggle to maintain her balance. This was a bad idea... She bit her lip so hard she drew blood. The Pikachu swayed on its feet, its cheeks rippling with electricity, but struggling to do so. The next hit would easily decide the outcome of the battle. Kasiya took a deep breath, her hand shaking. "Quick Attack, she said softly, as the Pikachu was ordered to do the same.
The two hit head on, both staggered from the hit. Kasiya knew that which ever one of them hit the floor first would be out.
"I'm throwing in the towel," Mr. Reid yelled suddenly, and he recalled Pikachu just as Ariel collapsed into a heap. "You win, my dear, you win!"
"ARIEL!" Kasiya cried, and ran out to her fallen Vaporeon. She skidded to a stop, holding her tighlty. "I shouldn't have sent you out there," she said, sobbing. "I'm sorry..." One of her tears slid down her cheek and landed on Ariel's nose. She opened her eyes once, gave a happy little smiled, and then closed them again. Kasiya recalled her into her Pokeball, wiping her eyes on her sleeve. "You shouldn't have done that," Kasiya looked up at Mr. Reid, who had walked over and offered her a hand up.
"Bah," was all he said, then smiled. "Go on, your father is waiting. And cheer up," he added with a wink. "I'm sure you'll do fine."
She forced a smile, and nodded, Shocker following close behind as she entered the Gym Leader's room.

Nina and company quickly ran after Kasiya, following her into the leader's room. Angel ran up to Kasiya, an egg in her hand for Ariel.
"Chan, chansii chansii!" she said, her small arms outstretched, holding the egg.

Wasting little time, Nitro lunged at the unaware Breloom, who reflex countered by grabbing his by his leg and throwing him back.No! None of that! He snarled, shaking his tail.
Shiver and Proton were exchanging tackles, moving quite fast for a clam and a bit hunk of Metal. I'm going to beat you! said Proton in his robotic voice, looking as determained as he ever will be.
The Cloyster stepped back, and unleashed another mighty wave, carrying the Magnemite many yards back. Shiver looked on happily as the wave carried out to the sea and plopped Proton in the ocean.
Moments passed while Portabello and Nitro were exchanging attacks, The Cloyster still eyeing the water. Ha, you'd beat me...I won even with the type disadvanta- Shiver was cut off mid sentance by a massive lightning strike, coming from the water.
Oh yeah? Proton rose out of the water, annoyed. Soon he completly emerged, showing his evolved form, a Magneton. He hovered over in front of the Cloyster. Now...where were we?

Whipping his tail across Portabello's face, Nitro snarled and scratched untill it looked like he could take no more. Ready to give up? Nitro stood above the beaten Portabello, looking down on him, holding his arm from the Breloom's feirce attacks.
The Breloom staggered to his feet. You don't...know me very well, do you!? On the last word, Portabello lunged forward and struck Nitro with a powerful headbutt. Agh! That's not giving up!
Over on the other side, Magneton mirrored Nitro, hovering over the seemingly defeated Shiver. Now then, how do you want to this? You move and I zap you. You attack and I zap you. You look at me funny, and- I zap you, I got it! the rather annoyed Cloyster chimed in, then was struck by a Thunderbolt. You intterupt me, and I zap you!

Tired of hearing Proton rant on, Shiver spewed a large stream of water from his mouth, rocketing the Magneton high up into the air.
That's it! Zap! Proton fired a Thunderbolt at the jet of water, which traveled down at alarming speed. Yikes! Shiver closed his mouth, and rolled out of the way, the attack narrowly missing. That was a little too close! He said to himself as he hopped back up, ready to attack some more.
Proton slammed into the ground, rather annoyed. You didn't let me finish, I was going to sa- He didn't get to finish that one either, because Shiver had launched an Ice Beam at him, causing him to fly back into the water again.
You talk, and I hit you.

Seeing that Kasiya didn't seem to want the softboiled egg, Angel waddled over to Regal and gave it to him instead. The Slowking smiled and thanked her, before breaking a part of the egg off and beckoning Anna and Mihoshi down to eat with him. It was obvious that Chansey's softboiled eggs were certain to bring joy to anyone who ate them.
"Chansii," it said, happily.
