Haha. Charles Dickens is a fabulous writer though.
So many of works are so brilliant...just a tad "outdated."
Do you think Harry Potter will be a classic years from now?

Uh, oh. Hello everybody. I'm very pleased to meet you all! You can call me Fivienne (my gaming nickname) or Rovena (my artistic nickname) though, of course those are not my real names (my rl name is Agnieszka but it may be confusing, so, yeah... whatever ^^"). Oh, and I am 21 if it counts.
In the beginning I will say that I'm not a native speaker of English, so please, forgive me my grammar errors. ^^; Though I am studying English philology in the university, I'm on the second year only and still have some problems with grammar. ._.
But anyway ^^ I'm an artistic type of person. I feel good mostly in drawing and writing. I like solving riddles too!, but I don't feel a nerdy type of person. I like to laugh much, so probably I have some sense of humour... ^^ I also like helping people (so, sadly, I'm a nice target to those who like to make use of the others... ._.). I love adventures and travel. I am a bit shy person when it goes to meet new people, but later if we like each other, the friendship may last the worst. c:
So, again, I'm happy I got here and I hope to make some new friendships with you in the near future. :3

Welcome to our new Ravenclaws! I'm LadyHealingHands, Head of House.
AkitoSousuke, good question. Years from now, I feel the Harry Potter will be a classic. The huge appeal to so many cultures and ages it has already demonstrated, the scholarly dissertations (and dissections) it engenders are unprecedented, and will be studied and appreciated for as long as stories are told.

Fivienne, with fox and dragon totems, you'll definitely find a home here at Haven!

Empress Cat, great to hear from you! Your RP is awesome, and I think the premise would make a good novel, Alas, I'm behind on my Haven duties, I definitely don't have time to take on a good RP, tempting as yours is!

Sorry, turayza. I too hate it when I make dumb mistakes. Especially with a year of the Snake (my year), clever slytheries that we are. Gung Hay Fat Chow (Happy New Year) everyone

Lol.
Gong Hay Fa Chai.
That's how I learned the pinyin (not sure about the "Hay")
I have bad memory with that kind of things.
Anyhow, Fivienne, welcome to this guild. I'm sure it'll be loads of fun for all of us.

On another note: I tried out for Water Kingdom's Human and Kita tried out for Aero Kingdom's Lead Element (we're cousins).
It seems like so much fun, but there probably needs to be much more people.

Welcome to Ravenclaw, Fivienne. (I'll stick to your username if you don't mind XD) Your English is pretty good...
Oh...I thought it was Cantonese. In Mandarin standard pinyin, it's Gong Xi Fa Cai. o.o Confusing.
Yeah...the rp required 36 people to function...>.>
The Valentine's event is fun XD

Thank you all for such warm welcome!

@turayza - Of course, you can stick to my username, it is the most comfortable option. ^^ Moreover calling me 'Rovena' in such place *looks around* is kinda inappropriate and confusing. ^^ And thank you for your compliment! You know, those are two different things: learning English and using it during the conversation with the English speaking people. But if it's good I fell relief.

Welcome to Ravenclaw, Fivienne!

I love your avatar. I don't know why, I just find it to be completely awesome! I noticed that you're form Poland. I was there on a class field trip with the White Busses this passed June! We didn't travel farther then to Krakow though. We stayed there for three days, some other city that I don't remember the name of for one night, and the we went to Germany. We visited four Concentration Camps. Two in Poland and two in Germany.

I must say, I enjoyed my stay in Poland better then my stay in Germany. Krakow was a beautiful city! Specially the centrum.

I find your language to be very beautiful. If not a bit hard to read and pronounce. And I have to agree with you on the English speaking thing... I get really nervous when I'm going to speak with anyone in English, so I get more grammar mistakes then normal. *laughs*

(By the way, I have enough posts to be made a fourth year now.)

Yea, Europe seems so...historic, I guess for me.
It's something that we've learned about, but truly experiencing would be a thousandfold better.
Not to mention that practically EVERYTHING happens in Europe...besides American football.

Thank you, Kitsune! May I call you 'Kitsune'? Also thank you for your compliment, I like your avatar too. (: Totally different from mine, but I like it.

Wow, it's great to hear that you was on a trip to Poland and enjoyed it. I'm not surprised that you liked Krakow, it is a really beautiful city especially because it wasn't destroyed during the WW2 like Warsaw (where I live).

You really do? That's something. ^^ Yeah, I suppose it is a hard to learn language since we have some strange grammar rules and sounds which I believe are uncommon in other languages...

I looked at your profile and now I know you're from Norway. Well, I wasn't there. But I believe it is a beautiful country. ^^ The only country I went to since now was the country of Harry Potter and Co. - Great Britain. Magical place, I hope to visit it again, soon.

*Blinks* I've always found it funny how so many people say "I want to go to Europe!". Must be because I've never been outside of Europe! *laughs*

And yes Fivienne, you may call me Kitsune. Or Zetsu. Or even Trine if you like! *laughs* I have no specific preferences. And I'm glad you like it. ^^

'Course I enjoyed it! Though the hotel we stayed at in Krakow wasn't the best, but it was okay. The one we stayed at in another city near the boarder to Germany was the best one. Though, we weren't allowed to go outside of the hotel... Lot of Criminal activity there. Heck, we had to go inside at the backside of the hotel, because it was a danger that we'd get our items stolen if we entered the front! o.o

I heard someone mention a beautiful church that resided in Warsaw. I wanna go to Warsaw someday. I really liked Poland. It was beautiful! And it was so fun to be in Krakow. There were street performances everywhere! biggrin

Yeah, I noticed. The Guide told us about how a lot of Norwegians attend Medical School in Poland, and how they learn how to speak it, but doesn't learn how to write it due to it's complexity.

It is pretty! ...Sometimes. I don't find the city I live in to be anything spectacular when it's winter, the snow is half-way melted, the snow is dirty, and there's nothing on the tree's. Not a particular beautiful sight to behold. But we got tall mountains?

I've been to England, Sweeden, Germany, Poland and Greece? I find it sad indeed that I've never been in either Denmark or Finland. When you live in Norway, you have to go to Denmark, Finland and Sweeden. It's like an unwritten rule! O:

We live about four hours away from the Sweedish boarder. So it's normal to go on what we call "Harry tur til Sverige" to shop. Which pretty much means "Harry trip to Sweeden". Food, candy and such is cheaper in Sweeden then in Norway.

Anyway, I'll stop ranting now. *laughs*

Oh, now that you mentioned Sweden... my auntie and my uncle are living there. ^^ In Goteborg, precisely. She had been inviting me a few times, but it never did come into effect. Plus I am afraid of travelling by plane (it's nothing new nowadays...) and I've never been on a ferry, which is the second possible way to get there. I would like to visit Finland too, it always seemed to me a very quiet and mysterious country, full of snow... I love snow! Many great bands are from Finland (including my personal favourite, that is Sonata Arctica <3) which is another reason for me to go there. xD

With reference to that hotel near the German border... Sheesh... scary. O.o And a bit crazy too. Maybe because the border was near so there might have been some smugglers? I don't know, really. In-country it wouldn't happen, I suppose... Or rather, 'I hope'.

I may comfort you - no snow (even the dirty one) can be found this year in Poland. Except mountains of course, where snow is lying for about half a year. *rolls her eyes* But who cares? I live in the middle of the country! T__T Who stole the freaking snow, huh?!

to
paraphernalia_101- sixth year!

::sniff:: I remember when you were just tadpoles of first years...now look at you! Para, when you're ready, e-mail me to take your Apparation License test. It's fiendishly difficult, but the rewards are 5 housepoints, a nifty badge and a certificate suitable for framing to amaze your friends with (see the thread in the subforum)

I haven't been out of the country in a while, but I've traveled to China, Japan, Hong Kong, Mexico, Canada, Germany and narrowly missed going to Tibet (there was an uprising while we were getting ready to go there from Bejing) and also missed Denmark (Copenhagen)(traveling companion got sick and we stayed three weeks in Hamburg while she recuperated enough to travel.

Fivienne, I have Polish ancestry on my Dad's side, and I always wanted to visit the Arabian horse stud farms in Janow and nearby, as well as Vienna, Florence and Greece/Corfu. I saw the lovely Kawalkada, an Arabian mare bred and imported from Poland who won the American Arabian Horse Nationals a few years back--she was an ethereal alabaster white with a powerful and elegant trot (and technically listed as 'grey').

In the US, I was raised in New York State: Long Island, and lived in New York City, and upstate in Ulster and Duchess counties, as well as Milwaukee, Wisconsin and now San Diego, CA.

And all Ravenclaw Eaglettes, please note: the Valentine Events are FINALLY posted, and there are some fun ones!! And lots of House points up for grabs--LHH

Concerning the V-day events, I've entered a couple and am working on more!

It helps that I'm stuffing my face with REAL candy hearts right now. xD

Anyway, I have only been to Europe once, when I got to go to France and england. But the trip was wasted on me for a few reasons:

1. I was eight. I decided to stay on top of the Eiffel tower all after noon instead of going to the Louvre. *headdesk* Idiotic!

2. Kings cross had the section of platforms 9, 10, and 11 closed for remodeling. Dx I couldn't sneak onto the Hogwarts express, even though it was almost the right day!

3. I wouldn't eat crêpes then. Dumb idea.

Oh well. At least I was old enough to remember it!
