Lucind Varhetel By the time Lucind heard him coming down the stairs into the cafe she had enough of staring at the screen and entering new book titles, their registry number ans whatnot. Her eyes were mildly burning so she saved her last step and ran down the computer. She peeked out of the kitchen and waved. "I'll be ready in a minute!" Lucind took the last sips of tea in her cup and went up to her room to kick her slippers through the room and get into shoes. Grapping a small, dark-lilac bag containing purse, keys etc. while putting on her coat, the woman then walked to Kraun to leave the store with him for another time. She would lead him to a furnishing and decoration store, a huge shop indeed, yet its interior was arranged in a thoughtful way, making sure the customers wouldn't feel lost in just one large room. The light falling on the products was warm, yellowish and classical music played in the background. The Half-Siren wanted to show Kraun the different styles of seating furniture: (arm, rocking)chairs, beanbags, small couches and so on to see if he might like any of them. Through the streets they went, Lucind leading, with Kraun in tow behind her. With slow and graceful steps, his long legs carried him far, though his movements were slow. His eyes were open, however, downcast to the ground before his feet, and with each step, the beads of the rosary clicked together in rhythm with his steps, cycling through the string as he followed. Being shown the different kinds of seating available, he tried them out, as it was only proper to do so when the half-siren was making such a large effort to do this. Some of the more simpler chairs did not matter much, as they were found in the cafe, so they skipped those, however, some of the other ones would prove to be more interesting. Sitting in a beanbag seemed to make him slump down and sink into it, his long limbs spilling over the sides of the large amorphous chair. A rocking chair only puzzled him, as to wonder why someone would sit on a chair that moved, as it certainly did not feel very sturdy, rocking back and forth, even if was. One large armchair he sat in made him look imposing and produced quite a bit of area for him to put his arms, boosting them up to rest up at his midsection. It really did not matter for him. He was as comfortable sitting crossed legged on the floor as he was in a lazyboy recliner. In each chair, he sat in, the monk asked Lucind what she thought about it.

Lucind chuckled when seeing the monk sitting down on that beanbag: he was just too tall for it and it somehow...didn't suit him. Just like the rocking chair.
".... xd "
This armchair was pretty neat in her opinion, but it was a little too pompous and expensive. Some minutes later though, Lucind found another armchair, a bit smaller and covered with a less exclusive, dark-green fabric - plus one could turn it into a simple bed. She liked it and for Kraun didn't seem to really care about whether buying another seating furniture for his room or not, Lucind simply ordered it - and if it was only for herself having something comfy to sit on whenever visiting the monk's room.
On their way back Lucind bought herself a vanilla milkshake at one of the many cafes. Then the Half-Siren stopped at a nearby souvenir shop whith different articles offered in front of it, but it was a stand with all kind of glasses which had caught her attraction.
Just for fun, Lucind tried out some shades and watched herself in a small mirror. In between, she picked a normal spectacle frame which had a certain old-school touch with it's circular glasses. "Might suit you," she mentioned before putting it back to try another one.

"..." Glasses? He certainly did not need glasses, but to humour the half-siren, he put them on for a moment and turned his head to look around before taking them off again. And for just that small moment that the monk had the glasses on, his eyes appeared to focus on whatever was inside the circular frames of the lenses. He did not notice such a thing, but any onlookers might.
He put the glasses back onto the rack, from the same spot Lucind found them on.

One of the shop's employees was outside with them, a young friendly guy with obviously too much energy for he bustled around the customers, giving advice here and there, scuttling back and forth. The sight of Kraun and Lucind must had been intriguing for he came over while talking to another customer at the same time and thus walking backwards. He turned towards them in the moment Kraun put on the glasses and looked around.
"Hey man, y'look cool!" He exclaimed and beamed, glancing curiously at Kraun before his attention trailed off and he hurried on.
Lucind had looked at this guy when addressing the monk but then turned her head back and chose a pair of black framed shades. But she only stared down at them. The Half-Siren frowned. "Wait. Did he just..."
She made a step back and searched for the glasses the monk had tried out. "Kraun? Please, put those on once again - and look at me." It was just an idea and in fact Lucind was sure it had just been an illusion and that guy hadn't really fixed his eyes on Kraun's.

He did not know why she wanted him to put the glasses back on, but the did it anyways. The monk picked up the glasses and placed them over his eyes as he looked at Lucind through the circular frames. "What?" he asked, wondering why she wanted him to put on the glasses again.

He himself did not notice anything different as he watched her through the frames of the glasses. He shrugged.
He didnt really know what she was talking about, as he was never the recipient of his cursed eyes, but Kraun decided to keep the glasses on anyways as Lucind seemed to like them.

Doesn't he notice I can actually look at him without fighting for spiritual countenance...??
She was confused but definitely wanted to buy the glasses so Kraun had to take them off once more at the till.
When they walked back she mentioned he could give her his dirtied robes so she could launder it.

Even though he now had those glasses, he still walked with his eyes downcast at the ground at his feet, sort of like a habit. When she mentioned that Kraun could give her the dirtied robes, he decided that he would when they got back to the cafe. He walked behind the woman slowly down the street as they headed back for the day.

5am and still no sign of Deo, he got up rather exhuberantly at 3 and left without a word, well of coarse he left without a word he thought Acacia and Meggie were sleeping.
"Do you have a three?"
"Go fish."
It had taken a while, but they were actually playing the game properly now and Meggie seemed to be enjoying herself, her bushy banded tail was twitching with exhuberance despite the early hour.
"Do you have a Knight?" Meggie giggled.
"Go fish!" Acacia knew that giggle.
"Come on Meggie, are you being honest with me?" She giggled again, looking like a child bursting to tell a secret with her cards clutched close to her face.
"Maybe."
"Hand it over fleabag." Meggie stopped giggling and puffed up a bit. Acacia smiled jokingly at her and she couldn't hold it in any longer. Meggie broke into a full out giggle fit as she tossed the Knight at Acacia.
"Acacia?" Meggie's tone had suddenly changed dramatically. This wasn't about go-fish.
"Yeah Meggie?"
"When do you think Deo will be back?" Acacia looked down at her cards, at the Knight still in her hand.
"I don't know." To be truthful he could have left in a hurry like that and not be back for months, a whole lifetime even. He might have remembered something important and rushed off after it or just have decided he wanted to do something other then look after his baby sister and an animal woman.
"Acacia?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you have a queen?"

Vahn Kyonuske Stepping through the tear, darkness swallowed the both of them. Dim lights could be seen flickering here and there, but they were far away, as if in unknown and unseen corridors. Their footsteps would echo out hallowly, until at each step a light would burst forth. Eventually the room was given slightly better illuminance. "We have returned safely," The voice came from nowhere, but Victor never slowed in step, as he made his way what now appeared to be a long strip of hallway, leading to a small rise. upon the rose, two chairs of the darkest oak had been inlaid with runes. Victor led Ra'kar up the steps and to one of the seats, before seating himself. "Master Victor." Settling in, the lighting seemed to improve, as flames danced about and casted shadows in every direction. Standing right in front of where the two seats were, a young man garbed in a strange white clothing stood, with a slightly larger and more feral looking "man" knelt upon the ground behind him. The larger one seemed to be missing most of his right arm. "Welcome home. Ezekiel. Samuel." Victor smiled warmly as the lighting began to shift, and now it was apparent that there even more people within the room. "Now, come and relate the fruits of your expedition....to your twenty brothers and sisters." ~~~ *Ra'kar'shei'lian followed behind Victor as he led her through the portal by the hand. She stepped gracefully out onto the other side, her black gown floating about her lithe figure as if it were an extension of the shadows themselves and the shadows in turn, were and extension of her.
The flickering firelight gleamed off of her ebony streaked hair, highlighting the crimson tones of the silken strands. Her feral, golden eyes flicked about the chamber, drinking everything about her new surroundings in.
She observes the two 'men' with mild intrest, a seductive smile etched on her delicate face.
Her wings fan behind her like a midnight banner, adding to her regal bearing as she takes her throne, seating herself with an air of possession that would have anyone believing it had been hers all along.
She leans back in a casual demeanor and waits with a bemused expression... to hear what tidings of importance these men bore.*

"Now, please enlighten us, Ezekiel... In Strata....Everything you saw... Everything you felt... Spare us not even the slightest detail." Victor stared down at both figures; his body slumping backwards slightly to get more comfortable.
"...Yes sir." Ezekiel lifted his left hand up, fingers clasping at his left eye, even as he replied. With a sickening pop, he dislodged his own eye, pulling it free from the socket. A thin membrane coated it, and trailed into a congealed strand, before snapping. Holding the entire eyeball in his left hand, Ezekiel proceeded to crush it.
The shattered shards of his eye release a hazy fog-like substance, which immediately enveloped the entire room. Soon memories began to flood within the senses of every living thing, filling it with information; specifically memories of what had happened in Strata. "Now be my guest...use me to your heart's content."
Victor's eyes closed, as he focused in on the memories. Visions of Ezekiel and Samuel's explosive arrival to the desert city, followed by Samuel's soul devouring. From the confrontation with Sunstrike, and the hasty attempted escape, as Hibon got his arm nearly broken off by Samuel, to Sunstrike's stand against the beast.
It eventually showed when Vahn finally arrived, and the transformation of his Fang, which blew off Samuel's arm. It also showed how Vahn's attack seem to halt, as if he were conflicted with something, causing Samuel to take advantage of this and beat him nearly to death. The intervention of Dain and Nahara were also shown, as well as the retreat of Sunstrike with Vahn's body.
The final scenes were of Sunstrike leaving Vahn's body, and going with them.

*Ra'kar watched the memories as if it were a film being shown for her private viewing pleasure. Her golden eyes, eerie reflective mirrors as they shine with amusement. Her slitted pupils flickering dangerously.
She thrums her claw like nails on the arm of her throne, a melodic harmony of metallic chiming to accent the sounds of battle.
She sighs, like a satated cat... dainty fangs peeking out from crimson lips as she smiles menacingly.*
:: SO... Vahn lost... What say you to that sister? Is your fiance so careless as to break his promise to return to you? Foolish elf... falling for a human and binding yourself to him... tch.::
*Ra'kar's pupils flared... transforming briefly from their slitted shape to a perfect pair of obsidian crescent moons... and then gold flame drowned them out entirely.
Her jaw clenching in annoyance... the Demoness has to focus intently on maintaining her posession of the elf maiden's vessel. Focusing she turns and smiles sardonically at Victor.*
"It would seem that seeing Vahn so.... 'abused'... has roused a certain someone's temper...."
