The girl's decided to make quick stop at the pokemon center before heading towards the gym. They had spent quite a chunk of time in the forest after all.

After the nurse Joy gave the girls back their pokemon she said, "Can I request a favor from the both of you?" seeing that she had their intrest, the nurse continued, "We've been taking care of a large amount of sick wild pokemon lately, and we're overcrowded at the moment. We have a couple of pokemon that have become too friendly to be released back into the wild, and we need to find homes for them. Now, the pair of you seem like competent trainers, and I can see your pokemon are well taken care of, so would you be willing to take care of these pokemon for us? I assure that they are well behaved individuals."

The girls conferred among themselves for a moment, before they nodded. "Of course we will!"

"Oh, wonderful!" Nurse Joy exclaimed. "Just wait right here and I'll be out with them." So saying, she disappeared into the back of the pokecenter.

She came back out carrying a togepi and a chingling in her arms, while a bulbasaur and a sudowoodo followed after her. "Here they are! I've already explained things to them, so it should be easy to capture them."

Crissy and Joyce got out two pokeballs each and after Nurse Joy set down the togepi and chingling they tossed the balls at the pokemon, who consented to being caught without a hitch, just like Joy had said.

"Thank you for your help." Joy said with a smile.

The girls thanked Joy in turn for the pokemon, and then they headed out for the gym.

Roxanne nodded and sent out her first two Pokemon. Geodude and Onix. "I'll let you boys have the first move." she informed them with a grin. "I wouldn't want to overwhelm you before you get the feel for my Pokemon's strength." she added, not intending to boast but doing it anyway.

"Excellent moves boys. Now try some of mine." Roxanne said calmly as she looked to her rather weakened Pokemon. "Alright, Onix use Rock Throw on that Smeargle." she began.

"Geodude, use Magnitude on that Kabuto." she told the smaller rock type.

Onix nodded with a rocky roar and slammed it's tail into the arena floor, breaking loose several rocks. With a flick of it's stony tail, it sent the rocks flying at DaVinci.

Geodude slammed it's fists into the floor and sent shockwaves coursing through the arena floor at Hiei.

Roxanne returned her fallen Pokemon to their balls and took out her remaining two. "Alright. You beat my first two but these ones won't be so easy!" she declared with a hint of joy in her voice. Battling these two was fun.

"Nosepass, use your Rock Throw on that Smeargle!" she told her fiorst replacement. Nosepass nodded as best it could manage and used it's magnetism to send several loose rocks flying at DaVinci.

"And you Shieldon, use Take Down on that Slowking, before it can cause us any problems." she told the other Pokemon. Her fossil was much stronger than the boys'.

{-20 to Shieldon. 140 Hp Remains}

Roxanne returned her defeated Shieldon to it's Pokeball and grinned. "I definitely wasn't expecting that one." she said gently as she replaced the Pokeball and turned her attention to Nosepass. "It's all on you now, my friend." she told it before issuing her orders. "Use a Tackle on that Slowking. Try and finish it off before it can use that move again." she told it.

"Nose!" it cried in agreement, as it used it's magnetism to throw itself into Sydney.
