"forgive me, I meant to say 23. 23 is the correct number in numerology." Shagatsu said with a grin.

Ariku thought a second...
"You know what? I have heard of that.. But I didn't know why it was significant.. Interesting.." she said thinking. Then she smiled, "Please tell us more Shagatsu-san. This is very fascinating."

Shagatsu hummed a little to himself as he washed his hands in the river next to the shrine.

Gracefully she floated on her feet to the magnificent shrine. Long silky white hair lay still over her right shoulder as she wore her usual attire; a light, white dress with blue lace. Josophine hummed a lullaby peacefully, much like she would always do at the time of twilight. Tonight, exploration was her simple motive to come here.

Ariku sat peacefully on a rock near the waterfall listening to the sootheing water.

Her eyes spotted a lovely young lady sitting by the water fall. A beautiful sight truly. Somehow whenever those deep blue eyes spotted something, or someone, worth looking at; they'd transfered it over where her mind would always begin to paint out a rose-colored masterpiece of life's moments. This was one of them. Sadly during these experiances her beautiful eyes would be, from the outsider's view, just be staring blankly in the general direction of her inspiration. Like so.

Ariku felt something watching her.. She opened her eyes and looked around. She spotted the source. A new face that seemed to be looking blankly at her.. She stood up and walked over to her.
"Hello. I'm Ariku." she said and smiled.

With a few blinks she came back to reality fairly quickly. "Hello, I am Josophine." Her voice, musical, like chimes in the wind. There was yet a smile to be drawn on her crimson lips; till she held out her hand and said politely "It's pleasure to meet you.". Her gesture of friendliness could have easily given away the fact that she as a foreigner in this land, and of course Josophine quickly realized this after she made the mistake.

Ariku looked at her hand a bit confused for a split second. But, extremely quickly she realized.
She shook her hand and smiled. "Nice to meet you."
She hadn't shaken anyone's hand since she lived in France. She had almost forgotten the gesture.

Josophine smiled pleasantly as she realized Ariku must have been well traveled. "I'm guessing you have traveled outside of Asia?" She said with a slight accent.

She smiled and nodded.
"Yes, I was actually born in France. I moved here when I was 6. What about you?"she asked politely.

"I travel." She answered simply. With her tone Josophine had clearly stated that the question of her past should not be brought up. "Why have you chose to come here? Or ...rather your parents?"

She looked down for a second.
"Well, my parents are still in France. I was staying with my grandparents. My grandmother hated me because my father left to be with a foreigner. So she left me at the okiya. But I turned out to really have a passion for this." She smiled slightly.
Ariku was used to telling the story by now and she wasn't ashamed. She realized it was sort of obvious they would ask because of her light hair and slightly odd manner.
"I really took to the performing aspect quickly, since I was a performer in France. But I do hope someday to see the world. It must be beautiful, right?" she asked hoping that that question wouldn't cause a problem.

A gentle smile on her angelic face made her seem so innocent at that moment. " The world is beautiful from nature... to the cities... but what has been done in both is very unforgettably horrid." Feeling that her statement might be a little harsh Josophine went on to a more positive note. " What amazes me is how no matter where you go in the world... there will always be the great blue sky above you and the loving earth beneath you..... Which is all the same in the world but each time I look up it's different..."
