"I guess we will. I wish it weren't so dangerous though." She frowned and traced a pattern in the dirt. The idea of him be converted was exciting, but frightening as well. What if she lost him? She wouldn't be able to live through that.

"You could be converted, so that you would be a Carpathian too. It would take three blood exchanges, and would probably be very painful. It is for females. No male has ever been converted though. It's been thought of as too risky, since there are so few lifemates."
