There are usually five boys in a boyband such as N*SYNC, but do they really need that many? In a regular band, one would be singing, another would be playing the guitar, another the drums, and everybody would have a purpose. But boyband guys seem to just sort of stand there and dance around. Somebody should give them a guitar or something.

I could totally be in a boyband if I wanted to. cool There isn't a limit to how many people can be in a band. !!! has probably more than seven members. Ayreon has more than 10 musicians.

I could totally be in a boyband if I wanted to. cool There isn't a limit to how many people can be in a band. !!! has probably more than seven members. Ayreon has more than 10 musicians. I don't mind if there are a lot of people in a band as long as they are always doing something. The purpose of half of the boyband members seem to be to occupy space.

It''s for the same reason harem anime exists - increase the number (and types) of attractive individuals on display, and the better chance that people will find one to obsess over. Also, A/M/C is scary tonight.
