Kin walked quickly to keep up with Sai and Vilya's energy as they took off ahead of him. "All that energy..." Kin mumbled. But I want to fight both of those two. They've really improved. So have I... But lacking the intent to kill would put them at a disadvantage if I fought either of them. I guess a little more time for them to become strong enough to be difficult to kill would be more fun. Kin plotted, though it wasn't really set in stone.

"I, uh... Got a little distracted..." Sai said, eyes still wide in semi-shock. He regained his feet and pointed at the departing doe. "That creature just spoke to me. In my head." He said. Sai was stunned. A persons head was a private place, somewhere where only their own thoughts and the words of their partners could be found. He had never heard another beings voice in his mind, besides his own and Souun's. He had never heard of such a thing happening to anyone. He knew he had to find out what was going on here. "I have to talk to her." He said, almost as much to himself as to Vilya. He darted across the street after the doe. When he caught up he placed his hand on her shoulder to get her attention. She turned around and looked up at him. He kneeled to bring himself on eye level with her. "Did you just talk to me?" He asked, face set in a mask of seriousness. The doe simply stared back at him for a second before he heard the voice in his head again. "How? How can you speak into my mind? Only bound partners are supposed to be able to speak into a persons mind." She said, projecting her "voice" to both him and his female friend. "What? I think I would know if i could mind speak to other people." Sai said incredulously.
"Well... Kinda... Once..." She said and turned to continue walking into the shop.

Raidek moved smoothly up the stream of people, scanning the crowd, he knew they had to be close, then he caught sight of Vilya, and beyond her there was Sai, people parting around him as he stood, and then bolt after something, which soon proved to be a doe that had been moving about the crowd of people.
Fenrir asked albeit rather sarcastically.
Raidek spat, wishing it were not necessary. He could hear Fenrir's feral growl of laughter echoing in his head.
The laughter stopped.
Raidek looked to Vilya again, and then spotted Kin down the street more, though it was only a glimpse here and there from this distance, he was sure it was him though. Lets go then... Raidek moved toward Sai, closing the distance between them as he entered the shop.

Vilya followed after Sai, not quite sure what he was talking about. It became clear enough though as the mysterious voice echoded in her mind also. Tura asked, Vilya said this as she entered the shop at Sai's heels.
"That. Would be a very useful skill." Vilya admitted out loud. Then said more quietly. "I wonder what they would want in return."
In many things Vilya herself would admit she was naive. But one rarely obtained something for nothing, thus she was on her guard ever so slightly as she took in the objects of the modest shop.

The doe led the way into the shop, through aisles of mundane foodstuffs, and to a middle aged woman working at a counter in the back. The doe spoke 'outloud'. "Othalla, that's rude." The woman said back to her. The doe, Othalla apparently, replied. "I apologize, she can be irritable." Kaera said. She was a handsome woman, of medium height and slender build, with long auburn hair pulled into a loose braid. She had brilliant green eyes and there were wings of grey in the hair at her temples. She wore a simple blouse and long skirt of pale orange. "What do you mean by educate, now, Othalla?" Othalla stated. "She's right." Sai said. "I can't mind speak to anyone other than my partner, and he can only mind speak to me. We didn't even know it was possible to mind speak beyond partners. We've never heard of it until now." "Ah, well, I'm guessing you're from the surface, then?" Kaera asked. When Sai nodded she continued. "It's a trick, honestly. And the partner bond can even obscure the fact that it's possible beyond partners.. Mind speech is a form of magic. Since the partner bond uses a small portion of a persons own spirit you share emotions and thoughts almost naturally. What you have to realize is that mind speak is still magic, and as a magic user you can use it anytime." "But I've tried using it to talk to other people before, and it didn't work." Sai said. "That's because you didn't know the simple little trick. Which is... You have to think of the person you're attempting to speak to as though your spirits are one. It works the same as partners, but for partners your spirits really are one. You have to think about the person you are trying to communicate with and how they make you feel. It's a slightly spiritual thing. The more you know about a person, and the more strongly you feel about them, the easier it will be."

Tura said, reffering to the Othalla after her comment about the truth. Vilya tried not to smile. She listened intently as the woman explained. It seemed she really did not want anything for the advice she was giving, though it was a little vague to say the least. "As if our spirits are one..." she echoed, trying to imagine how she would do it. It was so natural with Tura she never had to think about it before, it seemed mildly awkward considering that type of bond with anyone other than her companion. As she contemplated this Tura from within her stone tried it. She brushed the woman's mind gently with her own, replicating the state she was in when speaking to Vilya. she focused her thoughts and reached out. She growled gently into Kaera's head.

Kin turned to see Sai and Vilya go off somewhere which a strange doe-like creature, but he wasn't quite sure what it was. What the hell are they doing? Kin thought to himself and decided to follow them, but now following them inside the building they went though. He merely sat outside the door and listened.
He heard the unknown woman's voice talk to both Sai and Vilya as she explained her little technique. Spirits are one? What is this garbage?

It was muffled, as if heard through a closed door, but it was there. Kaera heard the voice of the girl's griffin companion within her mind. She spoke back to the griffin. Sai had his eyes closed. He was thinking hard on Vilya. He pictured her in his mind. He remembered what they had been through together. And he remembered how she made him feel, what she meant to him. When he felt he was thinking about her as thoroughly as he could he attempted to speak to her.

Tura projected the image of herself, inclining her head in respect to the mage. "Whoa!" Vilya yelped, stepping backwards and catching her foot on something. She landed in a trunk of dusty old books and struggled to climb back out. When she recovered she brushed off her clothes and was blushing furiously. "Yeah, I heard that." She sounded annoyed but was grinning from ear to ear. "That's incredible!" Tura's voice laughed in her mind. The gryphon had also projected it to Kaera and this time reached out to Sai and the others as an experiment. "Oh turn blue you old feather duster," Vilya shot back. Then Vilya looked to Kaera. "You have our thanks, but how did you learn of such a skill, and what can we give you in return? I don't think we can expect you to teach us for free." The gryphon thought for a moment. Vilya looked puzzled for a moment, but did as her companion asked and stepped out of the small shop and into the sunshine.

Raidek continued to scan the items in the woman's shop, An interesting little shop... As he perused the wears, he listened intently to the conversation.
It wasn't spoke so much between the two as it was felt and understood.
Raidek's tone was a tad sour as he spoke to Fenrir.
Then all at once he saw Vilya yelp, trip backwards and make quite the landing into the trunk. He began to chuckle, but stifled it, after all he did not want to appear rude, laughing at the misfortune of another when she was clearly a bit embarrassed it had happened. He a bit of a cough to try and cover it and looked to the woman who had been instructing them. "Madam..." He begun, his voice lighter more melodic to cover his tone that the others might recognize. "It is a wonderful thing to be able to talk to another through this mind speech, but is there anyway to block it out. After all we all might not want other voices in our head." He smiled and stepped from the shelves where he had been perusing to where he was plainly in front of the lady, though off to the left of Sai, glancing back at Vilya as she left the shop for a moment before returning his gaze to the woman.

As Vilya stepped out from the shop, Kin looked at her and then away quickly as he felt like he didn't know what to say. "What are you guys doing? I thought we were leaving." Kin questioned quickly after even though he already knew.

"This is awesome." Sai said, partly shocked that he had been able to perform the "trick". "It's something that has always existed here." Kaera said in response to Vilya's question. "It's an old technique, mostly forgotten on the surface. The few who remember it tend to hoard the knowledge of it, thinking that it will grant them greater power or some such nonsense." She began to follow Vilya and Tura out of the shop, leaving Othalla behind to mind the store. She paused partway in response to the young noble looking mans query. "It's possible to block voices out. Again, it's a matter of mental ability. Instead of opening your mind to another person you need to think of yourself as separate, and walled off, from others. It's all in the mind, about how you think about yourself and others." "We were leaving, but this kind woman just taught us something incredible. We can communicate with each other mind to mind." Sai said. Sai finished into Kin's mind, focusing on how his new friend had been steadfast and reliable since the day they met.

"We got...side tracked for a moment." Vilya answered Kin sheepishly. She released the seal on the stone and the gryphon appeared before her, shaking her ebony head and stretching one back leg non-chalantly. Tura purred, spreading one wing forward and placing the tip of a primary feather between her beak. She bit down hard and Vilya heard the splintering of its spine as Tura pulled it free. The feather was as tall as she was. It glittered in the sunlight before slowly turning lighter. Vilya watched with one eybrow raised as the feather continued to fade in colour until is was a delicate, earthy brown, painted with darker stripes like those on a falcon's wing. Tura twisted her head and offered the feather to Kaera. A salve made from the powdered spine can cure some forms of magical blindness, and a quill fashioned from its tip will not be able to write untruths. I give this to you in return for your teaching.>

Kin felt a little uneasy as Sai spoke to him through his thoughts. He looked around a bit and then back at Sai. "Ehh..." Was all he could make out.
Kin studied Vilya as she responded to him. What a strange girl...
