As Gage sat and waited for the Mizukage's permission to enter, his mind drifted to the events that lead up to here. 'How long will you lay in waste...' He thought to himself, speaking of Iwagakure. Things just haven't been the same since his squad returned from the mission with Death Spank. The village was leveled, with the ocasional floating rock that suspended itself a good ten feet off the ground, nothing like the usual tremors in the area. Upon arriving home the squad split in search of survivors, hoping and praying that all hope was not lost.
After hours of searching, Gage had returned to the same spot where the search began, to find no one there. It was then that he decided to leave, not really sure where to go. He heard rumors of other arrived villages, but none piqued his interest as much as the mist did. Just the constant rain alone is a strong defense against attack, but Gage hadn't heard the half...
While Gage was thinking, a crackle came from the desk that diverted his attention. It was the faint voice of Luo amidst all the static. As he looked on, the crackling stopped and the secretary's eyes made contact with his own. She gave him a look that said, 'mind your own business, kid'. Scared by the hellish gaze, Gage looked away only to be called to by the woman.
"Luo will see you now, mind your manners boy, he already has someone at the door." She told him, pressig a button on the desk that opened a direct stairwell to the office door. He climbed them rather quickly and was at the door in no time. It was then he noticed a rather strange looking woman. 'It seems as if the Mist attracts all sorts of visitors...' He thought to himself as he joined the woman in front of the door. "Excuse me, ma'am. The Mizukage sent for me." He said with a polite bow before grabbing the door handle and twisting it to open.
It opened rather easily and instead of sliding in like he normally would, Gage opened the door wide, so Luo could get a glimpse of his other visitor. He held the door open for a fee moments before closing it quietly and sKiing closer to the desk piled with papers so high that he could barely see Lil's face. Gage did a quick knee-bow to show respect, before standing.
"I am here as you asked, sir." He said, trying as best he could to hide the excitement. I mean, who wouldn't be excited if the leader of the village that you are seeking refuge, asks to speak with you on the second dat of your arrival. Many thoughts passed through Gage's head. As he stood, he fought many thoughts about why he was standing here in front of Luo, both good and bad. Now, he would finally find out.Luo1304 That was better then usual

At last as he heard the muffled noise of someone younger speaking to perhaps the person in the hallway, he placed it on the low bamboo table. The door swung open rather widely, Luo's eyes glimpsing a dress and the shoulders of a woman with fair skin. Her face however, was shrouded in shadow coming from the door frame itself. A pity. When Gage bowed at the knee although respectful, Luo found it to be too much for him. He still had trouble with people showing him such a level of respect, or rather accepting it.
"Please, sit" Luo said in his soft tone as he motioned towards one of the two embroidered red seating pillows in front of him. "I hope you're finding your stay in Kiri enjoyable so far? If there's anything you'd like to ask me before we begin this meeting, by all means take this time to do so." At this time, Luo gave the boy a chance to get some things off of his chest. It was never a bad idea to hear what someone else had to say first, and besides, what he wanted to talk about might take a while.

Gage's curiosity was put to rest by the words 'Please sit', which usual meant he would be here for a little while. 'So much for short and sweet...' He thought to himself as he walked forward and stood momentarily in front of the pillow to the left of the desk. He removed his ninja tools bag, a habit he had when sitting in on meetings. He placed it gently on the floor in front of him and knelt down. He then tossed himself lightly backwards onto the pillow and crossed his feet in front of him. He looked up at Luo and noticed that his face was plagued with many matters that Gage probably wouldn't understand.
It was then that Luo asked him about his stay this far and if he had any questions. 'Can he read my mind...' Gage thought to himself, trying to keep a cool posture, so as not to show any interest in the question. "Well sir, my stay here has been very delightful. I must say that in my first day here I didn't expect to be pushed beyond my limits." He said, trying to keep it as doesnt as he could, but he wasn't sure how well he was doing.
"As for the questions, we probably share the same questions about the condition of my village, so ill skip those." He said rubbing his chin, something he did subconsciously when he was in deep thought. Then it hit him like a load of bricks. He had come here on a whim of strength but he had never thought about the relationship between the two villages. 'I think that's the reason I'm still a genin...' He thought to himself as let his hand drop from his chin back to its usual positons on the side of his body. "I guess there is really just two things that are bothering me..." He said, starting to slowly drift from formal to normal. "What is the relationship between our villages? I came here on a whim and I'm just realizing that it could be a fatal mistake..." Suddenly a tear dropped Rom his right eye, which surprised Gage. He was fixing to ask about his village, but a swarm of mixed emotions hit him as he fought to ask the question.
After a minuite or two, Gage regained mental dominace. "What I really want to know, though..." He said whiping the tear from his eye. "Will there be any sort of scouting of Iwakaure? My friends may still be back there and it pains me not to know if they're okay or not." He finished, maintaining somewhat neutral emotions even though he continued to fight back tears and even screams.

Matsuya walked slowly towards the tower. He was clutching the bulging folder in one hand and a strap of a backpack in the other. All this time of preparation to leave, and now he wasn't wanting to leave home again. A small, sad looking smile broke his face. It was just like the last time he'd left. A pang of guilt that if something were to happen, he wouldn't be around unless he was called upon. But this wouldn't be like the last time he left. This time he would return as soon as things were sorted out. And that meant getting to Konoha and back as soon as possible. Well, back to wherever Luo was or needed him.
Matsuya nudged the front door open and walked slowly up the steps of the office. Out of habit, he attempted to make as little noise as possible. He'd always enjoyed sneaking up on Luo while he was working. But after a while, Luo had grown used to Matsuya coming in through a window and the joke had lost its effect. So, Matsuya had resorted to walking up stairs as silently as he could. Eventually, he reached the top floor and passed Luo's secretary. Today, he had no words to make her intentionally angry with him. He noticed that the door to the office was open and inside sat Luo and Gage. Matsuya, not wanting to interrupt, stood outside and just to the side of the open door. He was in no hurry to leave.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner Staring as Gage sat, he wondered just what was on the boy's mind. At the mention of not being expected to train as harshly as he had, Luo simply nodded a bit with a light smile. It was when he began to ask his questions however, that his face returned to its normal expression. He'd asked questions oddly enough on the subject he'd brought him in to speak about. Deciding to waste no time, Luo answered his questions to the fullest of his abilities. "Our villages were on friendly terms. The former Tsuchikage in fact visited Kiri a year ago, so there is no need to worry. If we were going to kill you, I doubt we'd teach you to defend yourself first. It is however, always a good idea to know what sort of territory you are entering into." In answering, Luo found that Gage had a tear stream down his right cheek, something that surprised him a little. He knew the subject would be touchy, but clearly it had affected him quite a lot. Still, Luo continued onto the next question, at the last doing what he said he'd do and answering them truthfully.
"As for your second question, I do not know yet. I actually called you here to explain to me in your own words what happened in Iwagakure. I need to know every detail of the occurrence and how it effected the landscape, and if you even saw anyone who participated in the attack. I can't commission any sort of scouting mission until I have more information on what has happened, and determine if it is not only worth it but safe to send my men into Earth Country."

Gage listened quieltly as Luo answered his questions. He remembered vaguely how his former kage disappeared for a year, leaving a Jonin in charge that lead to a serious war at the gates. Many memories where aroused in him mind and some of the 'not so good' memories began to pass through his head. His neutral expression soon faded to a frown. "Ah I see so this is where she came to retire. Forgive me for my expression, she just left at bad time." He said searching the top of his head. The fact that his former kage disappeared for a vacation while the village was on high alert didn't sit well with him.
As Luo continued on about the relationship of the two villages, the hair on the back of Gage's head. Someone else had walked up to the office. Luo may or may not have noticed it right away, but Gage did. His left eat began twitching Im a weird fashion for a few seconds, letting whoever it was know that he was aware of their presence. Just as Gage's ear stopped moving, Luo finished talking about the relationship of their villages and began to answer his other question.
"So I see..." Gage began as he stood up and walked up to a near by window. He looked out onto the vast plain below him, foggy still by the constant mist that fell. "Well, I wasn't present during the attack. I was on a C ranked escort mission with two other genin under Death Spank." As he spoke his mind began to recall all of the events as best he could. Gage lifted hth of his hands and stood quietly as they both erupted into flames that barely made it around his fist. "While on the mission I learned the Flaming Mao-Thai, something I treasure, since its a Iwagakure orignal. We completed the misson and made our way back to the village." Gage let his hands fall to his side and flames died out. He let his head hang low for a few moments before returning his gaze outside. "As soon as we for there something was wrong. When we made it to the gates there was no guard there to greet us. Death Spank assumed it was Genjutsu and attempted to dispel it, but in vain. After several failed attempts we made a desprate decision to search through the Village as fast as we could, so we decided to split up..." His voice trailed off. Here was the part that was the lost important, he had to remember everything. "So with our linked heatsets we rushed into the village, only to find that after we ran through the gates that everything within was ruined." Gage stopped as he tried to get his facts in line. "Death Spank himself was amazed that such a Genjutsu was possible. I assume that's the reason word didn't get out faster. Anyways, sticking to the plain we split up. I remember running through what was left of the park and seeing a towering stone that gleamed in the sunlight. Under it seemed to be distorted. I tried my headset, but it didn't work. I assumed immediately it was magnetic distortion. I returned to the gate after searching several other key areas finding the same floating rock in each area, giving off a distorted vibration." Gage turned around and walked back to the pillow he had sat on earlier and sat on of once more. "I waited there for what seemed like a day before deciding to seek refuge in another village. I assume that others have done the same, but none have come as far as Kiri, yet."
As Gage finished a thought hit him that could possibly explain why he couldn't find his party. "Is it possible for a group to enter a genjutsu and it have seperate effects on each individual?" Gage asked the question, not sure if he was onto something or if he just lost a few screws from the shock of of all.

Matsuya stood silently listening to Luo and Gage talking. A sense of guilt swept over him as Luo talked about sending a search party to Iwagakure to find out what happened to the village and it's shinobi. He rubbed his arm absentmindedly. Then he saw it: the owl tattoos that spiraled down his arms. The tattoos that he'd acquired in the Nara compound back in Konohagakure. The tattoos that his cousin, Kai Nara, had also been marked with. Though, she'd done it out of what he thought was anticipation for the second state of the clan, when the tattoos would be practical instead of just decoration. "I hate to go there too. I need to find out. I need to know that Kai is safe. It's my duty as he cousin and her clan leader." Matsuya's thoughts ran wild, but that one was on the forefront of his mind when he walked into the office.
Matsuya had entered just as Gage finished his story and posed the question about mass genjutsu. Matsuya, personally, had no knowledge of such a genjutsu, but Luo might know better than he did. Matsuya was never focused on learning genjutsu, more on the material world around him and the secrets it held. He clutched the folder in his hand and stood in the corner. Better to be seen, then hide and listen without consent. He gave Luo a curt nod and glanced at Gage. "Lord Mizukage, I'd like to make a request once Gage has finished. Actually, two requests." Matsuya knew that Luo would not expect to be addressed so formally by him, but Matsuya thought that it was necessary considering what he was about to ask.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner As Luo listened to Gage's explanation of what had happened, he focused his full attention on what he was saying. The floating rocks were most of all what piqued Luo's interest. "Magnetic distortion? What could possibly cause distortion on such a large scale?" Luo speculated that if there was rock floating around, then metal int he area must've been affected as well. Not only that, but the boy's com-link ceased to work in the area. For the life of him, Luo couldn't think of anything or anyone he had ever personally run into that was capable of such an ability. It was odd, and sounded quite dangerous. His right hand picked up a pen and he jotted down a few notes about the incident as well as the squad member he was with.
It was then that he was asked the question about genjutsu, Matsuya seeming to sneak into the office. Looking up he muttered, "The door please Matsuya." before answering Gage's question. "It's a very rare occurrence, but it could happen. The genjutsu would have to pertain to something mental, in which case the outcome for each person would of course be different. However, genjutsu never affect the landscape physically especially in the manner you speak of. Whatever it was is a ninjutsu no doubt, and a powerful one at that." Luo didn't want to go into the logistics of what his theories were on what type of jutsu it was since the information was rather unnecessary for the boy. Instead he turned to Matsuya who spoke after Luo's response to Gage.
Matsuya's attempt at being formal was heartfelt but not so well placed. As usual he was impatient and didn't wait for Luo to actually finish with Gage. But the small matter of formality wasn't something that annoyed Luo, but rather he took notice of frequently with his friend. It was like Tares' habit of never being anywhere on time. "Well, you've already made your presence known Matsuya, what is it exactly that you request of me?"

Masaki | Academy Student | Suiton | Doton | Mokuton | |Ninjutsu Specialist | Support ninja | Combo User | | Signature Jutsu: Chakra Akyo Ki | ------------------------------ Masaki approached the Kage's tower, not bothering to see if his teammate was still with him. Masaki found himself wondering whether he should deliver the report in person. Snowcone had made it clear she wanted them to handle the report, though Masaki wasn't sure whether that was laziness or an attempt to teach them protocol, and it seemed he was supposed to write it up, but other than that he had no idea. When he reached Luo's infamous secretary Masaki made sure he started speaking before she could harp on how his shoes were not formal enough or whatever it was she bothered about. "Hi, I'm here to file a mission report. How uh, do I-" "You new kids have no sense at all!" She got going so easily. "Not much surprise considering how rude your teachers are. I tell you if that Kaizen so much as-" "How do I file a mission repo-" "Hold your horses I was off to a good start! You need to learn some respect or this world will chew you raw and nail you to the plate. Just fill out this paperwork and-" "Okay thanks!" Masaki snatched the form from the woman's fingers and crossed the room quickly. Fortunately the waiting room seating was a good distance from the harpy or noone would bother seeing the Mizukage if they could help it. He filled out the forms with as much information as he could think of, with special detail on how Snowcone had treated him on the way back. Upon finishing he knocked on Luo's door and tuned out the grumpy secretary's awful voice.

Matsuya nodded curtly again. He was half-surprised that Luo hadn't given him one of his famous lectures about respect. Then, Matsuya reminded himself that both he and Luo had grown a lot since last he'd recieved such a lecture. "Well, first, I'd like to ask you to keep some files safe for me. They are the little bits of intelligence I have left about the places I've visited in my travels. It is not much, but to me it's extremely valuable." Matsuya held the folder up for Luo to see. "I'd just ask you to keep it safe until I return to retrieve it. I really don't mind how." Matsuya's face split into a small smirk. "After all, my intelligence is your intelligence, my lord. That was our agreement when I took up residence here again, right? So here we are. This file is yours to peruse at your leisure until I return for it." Matsuya thought for a minute before he spoke again. He was trying to figure out how to word this next part.
"Also, I'm going to go to Konohagakure. I want to see how things are going, to check up on old students. Of course, while I'm out of the Water Country I am yours to order as you wish. If you have anything that needs to be done, I'd be more than happy. And that brings me to my next request. When the time comes, I'd like to lead, or at least participate in, the reconnaissance team to Iwagakure." At this point, Matsuya's eyes drifted to Gage. The boy was one of the last people to see Kai. And this made him valuable to Matsuya. And he suspected Gage was worried about his colleagues from Iwa. "I have a cousin who lived in Iwagakure and would like to know what has become of her. You see, she is under my charge as head of the Nara Clan. I'm sure you understand." Matsuya finished speaking and stood still, waiting for Luo's answer. His mind was still running about, trying to figure out what disguise he would use outside of Kirigakure. No one in the outside world knew he was even alive. All they knew was that he'd disappeared for a few years.

As Gage finished, Matsuya walked in. Gage simply gave him a side glance with a nod of greeting. 'I knew it...' He thought to himself as he felt the justification of being right of predicting another person's presence.
Matsuya waited for Gage to finish his story before stating his business. Gage was about to begin speaking when Luo took the opportunity to tell him about the genjutu. It was possible, but Luo seemed sure it was Ninjutsu. 'He knows something I don't...' Gage thought as Luo finished explain. 'He must of come in contact with something like this before.' Gage's mind was overflowing with thoughts as Luo diverted his attention to Matsuya.
Matsuya was quick to reply with the two request that seemed odd at first, but as he continued on, Gage began to think of the possibility of one of his comrades could be in Konohagakure. The thought of it sent shivers down his spine. He had done a lot of traveling over the past week and just thinking about more traveling made him silently gulp, but his mind was made up.
Gage stood just as Matsuya finished speaking. "Lord Mizukage, I request permission to acompany Matsuya." Gage began as a knock was heard at the door of the office. Ignoring it, he continued. "Traveling to Konohagakure would mean the possibility of meeting old friends. This is, of course, if Matsuya approved..." Gage then looked at Matsuya with a blank stare. He knew Matsuya's plans about traveling to Iwagakure, with or without Gage, after he visited Konohagakure. 'I hope this works...' He thought to himself as he looked back at the Mizukage's expressionless face. Things never ceased to get interesting.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner To the first request, Luo nodded almost immediately after the question was asked. If Matsuya needed someone to keep something for him, Luo had no problems doing it. As Matsuya held the file out, Luo reached out to take it as he placed it on his desk. "That's not a problem Matsuya, I'll take them home with me and keep them with my things." Of course, the question made Luo wonder why Matsuya had asked him in the first place. No doubt Matsuya had carried the information with him for quite some time, so Luo knew he was capable of keeping it well. The only reason Matsuya would ask Luo to keep it is if he planned on....
It seemed Luo had no time to finish his thought as it was confirmed. Matsuya planned on leaving and going to Konohagakure quite soon, if not possibly immediately. This in truth usually wouldn't have been a problem, however it conflicted with quite a large favor Luo was to ask of him soon. It was then that Matsuya followed up with his second question, to which once more Luo really had no qualms with. If there was anyone capable of leading a squad on the mission, it was Matsuya. Before being able to answer however, he was interrupted by Gage asking to accompany Matsuya to Konoha when he left.
Looking at both of them from Gage to Matsuya, Luo cleared his throat before speaking first to his friend. "To be honest Matsuya, I was going to ask you to do me the favor of acting as temporary kage while I left on my trip to Kumogakure. Assuming you want to take this trip soon, it interferes with my not being within the village." Resting his chin on his left hand Luo sighed aloud as he tapped the bamboo with his right index finger. He was trying to think of a way to satisfy both of their needs without it becoming a huge inconvenience. At last, he looked back up from the desk with a spark of an idea in his mind. "I'll allow you to lead the team to Iwagakure of course, but that will have to wait until I get back from Kumogakure and you return from Konoha as well. Since both villages are so close in proximity and only separated by the Shimogakure, then accompany me as my second guard to the diplomatic signing. Since it's taking place oddly enough in Shimogakure between Konoha and Kumo and we'll have partial control over the area, there's no reason as far as I can tell that this should interfere too much with both of our needs. I'll just have to find a member of the Kiri council to stand-in while we are both away, sound fair?"
It was then that he turned to Gauge, his expression not once faltering towards either of the pair. "Request denied Gage. I'm sorry, but Matsuya has a reason for going back there that currently outweighs your own. Just as well Matsuya was the Hokage for quite some time, his return to Konoha after such a leave of absence needs to be solitary. I'm sure he will have a lot to talk about with the new Hokage." At that last note, Luo glanced back at Matsuya quickly before his attention returned to Gage. Matsuya like Zane had left his post as acting Kage without a trace. It wasn't something Luo would mention to Gage, but he doubted Matsuya's return to the village would be something he wanted to share with a stranger. "Not only that, but we have no current diplomatic immunity in Konoha, or rather no formal treaty currently what-so-ever. I'm not willing to risk your life in a village I currently know nothing about because there's an inkling of a chance that someone you know may be there. Your focus right now should be to better yourself as a shinobi, not attempt to go on a wild goose chase."
Letting that bit sink in, Luo relented with the last bit of information he had for Gage. "You can accompany Matsuya in a team when he goes to Iwagakure after I deem it safe to do so. Until then, I suggest getting comfortable here in Kirigakure." The moment his last word ended, there was yet another knock on the door. It seemed with every knock, Luo felt the chain link from his body to that desk shorten as he found himself constantly unable to escape it without something else popping up. The hurried knock sounded impatient, like the person behind the door didn't even want to be there and felt as if he had better things to do. He couldn't quite pin the knock yet, but he'd definitely heard it before as he muttered, "Come in." Whatever it was, he hoped it was important enough for his secretary to interrupt his meeting like that with yet another visitor.

Most would be nervous being invited into an already crowded room, but it barely phased the boy. Opening the door with the same touch of excitement as always he looked into the room. He didn't quite recognize any of the faces, other than Luo's of course, but once again he was invited inside. He assumed that meant he was expected to speak, which he did after a deep bow and with only a twinge of annoyance towards snowcone. "Snowco- err our team leader sent me to deliver the mission report. I wasn't sure if I should deliver it in person or not." Suddenly how unimportant this must be to those around him began to dawn on him, if only slightly, and he finished slightly faster. "I also came to ask if you could help me with some taijutsu training." Luo had taught him only basic taijutsu fighting when they had trained, and after his exceedingly boring return trip from Konoha not to mention that snake b*****d in Konoha and snowcone herself, Masaki felt a powerful urge to advance himself. He didn't speak any more however, for he was enough of a ninja to know not to freely deliver potentially important information, even in a kage's office.
((I get the feeling Matsuya might not be willing to sit around if he hears of Zin's Konoha, even if from Masaki's twisted perspective.))

Clearly he wanted to hear about it, and in fact it probably proved to be vital information to the sudden interest in that very same country by the two shinobi Luo had in his office. It didn't stop there however, Masaki going so far as to ask for some training. "Well Masaki I'll make you a deal. Depending on how good of a mission report you deliver, I'll decide whether or not to go forward with your training, personally." It was then that the ends of Luo's lips curled slowly and intentionally, a grimace of a grin presenting itself on the man's face to indicate that he himself found humor in the wager.
Unlike most children, Masaki didn't necessarily care to pay attention to the details. His path was direct and set often times, an almost interesting sign that he was most likely more doton oriented if anything. Luo himself found the he was quite bored and up for a wager of sorts, ultimately putting himself on the betting table. With his grin still present, he followed up after a second of silence as he muttered, "So, what do you say Masaki? Shall you begin the report?"

Masaki | Academy Student | Suiton | Doton | Mokuton | |Ninjutsu Specialist | Support ninja | Combo User | | Signature Jutsu: Chakra Akyo Ki | ------------------------------ ((Oh the nicknames. It's a good thing you were there or you might find it hard to follow)) Masaki immediately assumed a rigid stance and a serious expression. "Well, when Snow- leader asked us about the Naruto bridge when we crossed it, and when we failed to answer correctly she weighted us down with ice. Then we camped out in the forest. Don't remember what we ate. In the morning we entered Konoha." he paused as he tried to remember exactly what happened. "It got pretty chaotic there. Some guy met us at the door, Jin or something. I'll just call him snake grandpa. He killed a guard on a whim." Masaki held back most of his anger, but he had to bite his tongue a moment before going off again. This was Luo after all. Oh yea, snake guy, er Yamato's dad was there too, I guess you sent him? he looked really similar but his name was different and he was older. So snakegrandpa took us down into the village, everyone was scared, and finally into a huge pit thing. There we met the hokage, who is a kid who also uses snakes." his eyebrows furrowed and he bit his tongue again. "I wanted to hurt him so bad but... I'm weak. Besides whoever kills him should be from Konoha..." He shut his mouth quickly. That was the kind of thing Aoi had lectured him about. "Err, anyways Aoi talked to him about some water which was stolen, I guess you know more about it than me, and he said he didn't know anything. Snake guy's dad and the Hokage seemed to be fighting, but I couldn't understand what they were saying. Then he told us to stay the night, and I sorta maybe got angry, Snowco- Aoi then talked him into letting us leave. Snake guy's dad seemed to stay behind." He paused, this time for breathe more than anything, and then scratched his head. "Then we came back. Aoi was mad at me. Oh and she took us through some cave, and did you know you have a network of caverns underneath it?"
