Terry heard it, too, and reached down to his belt. "I'll check it out," he said quietly, vanishing as he spoke, "Stay put." To tell the truth, she was making him a bit nervous; she seemed on edge, even taking her spit fire temper into consideration. Silently, he slipped outside to see what was going on.

The scuffle, which had started out with two people...turned into five...which quickly turned into none after about two minutes.
Vice continued down the alley, wiping the blood off of his sharp nails as he went. Suppose it couldn't be helped. He'd come all this way without annoyance. Then a group of wannabe gangsters and...well, they shouldn't have moved their tussle onto him.
He glanced up at the building as he neared it. The bats were gone...or out from the ones he could see. A bit odd. But there didn't seem to be anything odd about the building.
Alex watched him leave, then turned her attention back towards the others. She really couldn't do much. Warp was taking care of Shadow. The kid...well she really didn't know what to say.

Quite suddenly, a voice spoke from directly behind him. "Blood on your hands?" Terry was once again visible, and he did not look happy.

Vice stopped his walk, and casually turned to glance back at whoever was behind him. The corner of his mouth not facing the man turned downward. Wonderful...a costume.
"A bit. Five to one, I needed to get a little ruff. Even if it was self-defence." he replied.
He had no reason to get into a fight with this boy, nor did he want to. But that look on his face. Almost always the same before he had to kill them.

Vice stared at him a moment, then turned his head back around and began to walk on again. He wasn't getting into a fight if he didn't have to.

Quite suddenly, Batman was directly in front of him, instead. This time, his eyes were narrow. "I want you," he said slowly and distinctly, "To leave Gotham. Here, killing a bunch of scared kids-- whether they were attacking you or not-- isn't considered self defense. It's murder, and I don't put up with it." He wasn't entirely sure that he could beat this person, and he REALLY didn't want to get into another fight, but if the man pushed things he was certainly going to try. Not much of a choice. Batman does what Batman does.

Vice again stoped and stared at the Bat for a moment. His eyebrow raised slightly, and got a bit of an interested look in his eyes. "Really?" he replied. "And ah...just what are you planning on doing?" he asked, making his body phasable of course.

Terry would have facepalmed if he'd been out of costume. "What do people in cheesy costumes USUALLY do to bad guys, Einstein?" he asked flatly, with a definite weary edge to his voice. "I'd prefer not to-- I've already gotten into waaaay too many pointless fights today-- but I'm not just going to let you hack and slash your way through downtown Gotham, either."

"Interesting." Vice said a bit thoughtfully. He seemed on edge...but that was about it so far. It had been quite a while since he was around someone that didn't annoy him after the first ten seconds. "Well provided I don't run into anyone else that annoy me to that extent. I won't. I can't promise you anything though." he replied.

Terry blinked. This guy really killed people just for annoying him? God, if he'd done that... there would have been only twenty or so people left in the entire town, and Bruce Wayne would not have been one of them. Actually, he couldn't think of a single person who hadn't annoyed him A LOT on more than one occasion. How could you live life like that? "And I can't promise that I won't be right there to stop you if that does happen," he replied evenly, and then shot the other man a thoroughly humorless grin. "Nice talking." With that, he turned and walked back into the building.

Vice stared at the bat as he turned and walked away, dissapearing inside the building. He was...actually a bit impressed. Whatever this boy's vice was...wrath wasn't one of them. At least...not instantly like most others. He could be like a few others he knew who were simply good at holding off on their vices unless pushed. Now...he was a bit interested to see what his vice was. But then, whould he be annoyed just like with everyone else when it finally did emerge?
Vice grinned a bit and took a quick glance up at the building. Perhaps...he could simply watch for a little while. He certainly had nothing better to do.
Warp had managed to heal most of the hole in Shadow's back when she finally opened her eyes. "Welcome back." he said with a small smile, continuing to use his powers on her back.
Shadow looked up at him a moment, then around the room. She then closed her eyes and leaned her head back again. "What...took you s'long...?"
Warp's smile fell slightly. "Unfortunately I can't take credit for getting you out of there." he said.

Feeling weirdly annoyed--especially considering that he'd probably 'won' the encounter, for whatever that was worth-- Terry walked in on the touching little scene and blinked. "Are they...?" he whispered to Alex. It hadn't even occurred to him... though it did make a certain amount of sense. Warp had been desperate to get back and save her.

Alex glanced over at Batman and gave him a small smirk. "Might as well be." she whispered back. "Half the time they're together it's almost painfully obvious. But...I don't know. Guess it's a little awkward considering a few things."

Batman snorted quietly. "Drama. This is why I don't do team-ups if I can help it." Aquagirl.... Hoooo boy. But that didn't count. Did it? Not really. They hardly ever saw each other, especially considering that he wasn't a 'official' JLA member... And he had a girlfriend. They just were colleagues. Yeah.... He was really lucky that no one from his time was there, wasn't he?
