Shinji paused as he heard Kylina move, and he slowly turned to scan the scene behind him. It wasn't like him to get paranoid, but in the years he'd been here he'd never seen any wild animals in the cemetary...

Kylina wasn't actually hiding, more leaning over the top of the headstone. She straightened when his gaze fell on her, and moved around to the side of it. She was unsure of how to carry on.

Shinji's body froze as the girl moved, and he shifted his steps to turn and fully face her. Sorry, he called to her, half unsure if she was even really there. I didn't mean to disturb you.

"Thats fine." She called back, in reply. "I just hadn't expected anyone to be here, of all places. Your gum popping startled me, kid, thats all." She smirked. "I suppose, though, it was silly of me to thik that no one would come through, huh?"

A lot of people use the cemetary as a shortcut, because there're gates on either end of it...Please don't call me 'kid', I was never one of those. My name is Shinji. He stayed where he was, a soft frown on his lips, his hands still tucked into his pockets. He kept his gum in his cheek while he spoke, then pressed it to the roof of his mouth, a soft click sound escaping his lips when doing so.

"Sorry, you just look so young from back here." Kylina replied, moving closer. "I think I'm finally used to land again..." She muttered, and smiled. "So, a sacred place has become a shortcut?" She asked. "Thats interesting."

With a faint blush and a soft smile, Shinji laughed. Well, thank you, I think...And, yes. He glanced around and shrugged, frowning some. From what I've gathered, when mortals die, their loved ones grieve and then forget. Once the immidiate family of whoever's been laid has passed on as well, or moved...the site turns to shambles. He gave a sad glance to the cracked stones and shook his head before looking back to the girl, hoping to have not offended her.

"I can understand." Kylina replied. Her smiled turned a little sad. "We always had burials at sea while I was growing up, so I was never used to the idea of cemeteries, personally." She shook her head. "I'm Kylina, by the way."

mightychi "For what it's worth you helped me." Claudia reached out and touched Jase's hand again, this time not flinching at the feel of his cold flesh. "For that I thank you. I haven't felt this comfortable talking about Louis to anyone, not even friends." She gave small smile. "I'm not sure why, but I feel really comfortable around you. It's kind of weird considering you're... undead." At that thought she gave a small chuckle. Jase gave her a small smile, glad to see that she wasn't ready to run from him anymore. He had to admit, he missed the company of others, especially now that he was sort of alive again. "That really means a lot to me. I had thought everyone would be afraid of me or try to get rid of me. I'm obviously not one for confrontation."

Claudia was glad that Jase seemed to be as comfortable with her as she was with him. "If someone took the time to see past your appearance, they would see that you're a nice guy. I'm sorry I freaked out on you." Embarassed at the way she acted, Claudia blushed again as she looked away from Jase and moved her hand.

It's nice to meet you, Kylina, Shinji offered, nodding to the girl. Odd circumstances, but nice none the less. He laughed softly and brushed his hair from his face, glancing around as he pondered the burials at sea thing. I've never really understood the thought of burials at all...I mean, Sure, if the deceased was passionate about the ocean, I understand them wanting to be part of it in death, but...Wouldn't their body just be consumed by seacreatures? He blushed faintly, hoping that comment didn't make him come off as an a** or anything.

"Well, yes." Kylina replied. "But when you're in the middle of the ocean, and won't be to port for months, there's really not a lot one can do in the way of burial." She shook her head. "The people on my ship, though, grew up there, and their parents were on the ship, when it belonged to my mother. So they're passionate about the sea, and everything about being a crew member."

I suppose that's true, the boy offered, blushing faintly as he averted his gaze. So, what brings you to land, if you don't mind my asking? He was curious, as it struck him as mindly interesting that this girl was a woman of the sea, and his halfsister had just shown up to stay with their mother and she was somewhat of a 'pirate', one would say. Was this some new scurvy port, and nobody had mentioned it to him?

"There's been increasing animosity in my crew, and there was a brawl." She replied. "They need a vacation from each other, basically." She sighed. "We're usually a well-oiled machine, but lately... Stuff is off. So we came to port so they could rest and stop hating each other."

Ah, hai...People do get like that sometimes, don't they? That'd been the reason he'd ventured off this evening as well, actually. How long are you going to stay here, do you know?
