((His character = mentally unstable guy whose Warlock Soul decided to take control. Paul will get his stuff continued upon sufficient posting by him or Joe, I suppose. Once he's ready and a reasonable amount of time will have been given to our demonic crew who's en route.))

((hey, Keegan. good to see you finally in. Venom, what exactly do you mean?))
Joe slid to a halt and looked around. Not alarmed, just amused. "Silly little boy," Joe said, in that echoing, shifting voice that he got whenever he was in this state. "Do you think that you scare me, or that you have any chance of harming me?" Joe slammed a fist into the ground, blasting magical fire and force into the ground and the buildings nearby. The Sage would most likely find and resume attacking him, but Joe wasn't going to let some fool try to mess with him.

Joe's warning gave Samuel ample time to use the shield the Sage had taught him. It worked like a charm. Or, rather, it worked like a magical shield. The force directed at Samuel diffused into the surrounding area.

((Sorry about the lack of posting - band camp will be taking up the majority of my time this next week, so if something desperately needs to be done, one of you can feel free to go ahead and get it done. kplzthnx biggrin ))
Siber watched with mild interest as Samuel jumped off the roof to go pursue whatever hobby was taking for now. Joe seemed to be in harm's way, but then Paul, the currently more mentally stable of the two, chimed in... with smoke signals. Sweet. Siber jumped off the building himself, allowing Centauri to carry him down to where he could feel Paul's signature. The dragonfly, not usually one to cause any great commotion, quiescently phased into existence and buzzed around Paul's ear. For a while, Paul was still deaf, but after a while the buzzing grew louder and more distinct until the ear was healed. While Siber checked around for his attacker, the same procedure was performed on the other ear. Whoever had done this was good at hiding, but Siber's third eye was much more finely tuned, having a distinct chakra point to search from. There. "You! Dæmon!" he bellowed, aiming his dæmonically-augmented voice in the direction of the signature he saw. "Are you the same guy I had to protect against last time? If you are, you've got the wrong enemy. I saved those kids, and this guy's with me." Of course, there was no way to know if it was the same guy. The magic signature was the same, but it was faint; biomancy, unlike occlumency, had no definite output from the chakras.

Gratefully, Paul stood up, testing his freshly regained hearing. "Hey, thanks, Siber," he said, cracking his neck. He didn't look so good nontheless; blood trickled from his ears, the right earpiece of his glasses were broken and bent, his shirt was torn where the bone had burst from his chest, and his hands were covered in dried pus and dead skin. Furthermore, his face and neck were both scratched up badly from chasing a van in a taxi without a windshield. His leg also ached badly from his little run, and so he walked with a limp. "Siber, where'd Joe go?" he asked suddenly, opening his third eye. The necromancer's signature seemed hidden again; it was unapparent. Instead there was a flare of firey energy, and what appeared to be Samuel. The fire was... familiar. At least so it seemed to Paul.

(( xd Unparalleled timing.))
"Ah, really?" Renard asked, directly to Siber's ears. "Eh, give me a moment to check." Siber felt the biomancy dissecting a small section of his genetic code, going on the principle that finding someone who used the same magic in the same way with the same exact DNA was astronomically improbable. Evidently, Siber checked out because Renard added, "Gimme a moment to head back. I'll heal up your friend, I suppose. Why was he chasing us? And is the Sage gone?" Siber turned and looked up to the roof. The Sage was nowhere to be seen.
A lot of screaming began to come from the building. That was a fairly reasonable indicator of where the Sage was, Siber thought. He told Renard as much, speaking into the air. Renard, by this point, was climbing over the center divider from the backed-up section of freeway leading towards the collapsed overpass to the totally-empty side leading from the collapsed overpass, despite nobody having seen him approach.

((Ha, if you'll notice, we both posted at exactly the same time - TWICE. I think both our characters deserve a massive boost in power simply for that epic 1337 skill. xd ))
Fyrin was crouched inside a house. The homeowners wouldn't have been happy about it, but they were too scared of the skeletons holding assault rifles to say anything. Standing slightly, Fyrin glanced out the window. "I lost visual on Renard, that's my fault," he admitted to One. "Should be able to... find him, though," he added slowly. "We'll need to report this to the others. Resistance like this isn't something they should be forced to encounter without knowing it. I've got a fix on Renard, let's go," Fyrin said. Three went over to the key rack of the family while Fyrin pulled another fresh bandage from his arm, with which a little bit of thaumaturgy became a check for the new Dodge Charger they were claiming. "Sorry," Fyrin informed them, "but your fate may well rest on this. This'll pay for all the options and everything. Thanks," he finished brightly, going out to the garage and leaving them with nothing but a check.
"Let's hope this next part goes off with fewer hitches, eh?" AK74U-man said in his thick Russian accent. "We've got to find a way to keep hidden better."
"Already on it," Fyrin returned as every inch of glass in the vehicle suddenly became darkly tinted. "Come on, let's get there, shall we?" Paul: Condition: Green Mana: 90% Athena KR6: <42>/42/42/42/42/42/42 (Special Rounds) Glock 26: <12>/11/11/6

Joe didn't feel any of whoever-it-was's energy, mostly because he had saturated the area with his uncontrolled use of mana. Sam's shield was coated in Joe's energy, so Joe didn't sense it. With a shrug, Joe set off at a jog towards Paul. He rounded a corner and saw Paul and Siber. "Ahh. There you are." He walked over to them and stood looking around. "Just what exactly is going on? Where's that Sage that tried to kill me?" He saw Renard approaching. "And who the hell are you?" Joe tensed, his fire flaring a bit brighter.

Renard glanced at Joe and launched him away with another kinetic burst.
Renard had a huge advantage because kinetics was a sort of 'free' discipline that all magic users could access. When countering kinetics, however, the only determining factor was the kinetics skill of each person involved, and few mages bother to develop their kinetics - thus, when someone such as Renard specialized in kinetics, it gave them a nearly uncounterable specialty.
"Do you know this one?" Renard asked, collecting energy for another kinetic blast.
((Devath: The spell would have to have its words altered for that. Thus, it can, but you don't know how yet.))

((Ah. Thanks. I really was mostly asking if I knew how. Huh. You posted something. Maybe I should have added the question to the end of the composed post instead of as a standalone. Oh well.)) Samuel blinked. Well, that hadn't worked too well. Still, the poor sop didn't seem to believe in Samuel's presence anymore, so things should be fine. Samuel jogged down the sewer pipes and climbed out of a manhole.
Looking back at where Joe's signature was, not really all that far away, Samuel jogged through buildings to get as close as possible. When the only thing between him and Joe was a wall, he tried to scope out what the best way to get through Joe's defenses would be. Some daemon was attacking Joe with kinetics...
((There were a few more sentences, but they depended on the answer to the question and the lack of Joe changing status. <.<))

((Power boost ftw biggrin )) Siber let his dæmonic armor fade once more and turned to face Renard. "We were chasing you because we assumed that any disturbance as massive as the one you and your ilk caused was... well, nevermind. The reason I came was for entertainment value. Anyone else's motives are their own to explain." He added this last as Joe came running up. And flying back away. "Joe is also with me. I don't know why he was jumping all up in your van, but as far as I know," he stressed, considering the flare of power "he's a good guy. Despite that term's subjectiveness. "Joe, Samuel was trying to kill you. I don't know why, but he was with a Sage. Who is..." he checked, "attacking a building with screaming civilians inside. Clearly, the boundaries Legion placed on Samuel didn't go too terribly far." Keldan asked.
"So, why, exactly, are there suddenly umpteen magical styles going on? You and your guys and Sages and Joe and druids... and then that Ghoster I sensed... What is up with this?" He was ready to go leaping in to help at a moment's notice, but just didn't have the motivation at the time.
