Going the hard way was more hard than Kasiya realized. Her legs and arms were getting torn up from the trees and thorns she encountered, just adding to the ones she had from yesterday. After about an hour of hiking, she and Bitey came upon a clearing. A cool, refreshing looking stream flowed right through it, and Kasiya decided this would be a good place to rest. She let Ariel, Shocker and Growly out of their Pokeballs, and Ariel immediately dived into the stream, cooing with happy noises. Growly went over to get a drink, as did Shocker. Bitey came flying back from scouting, and rested on Kasiya's shoulder, his little chest heaving from the flight. "Good work, Bitey," she said, gently patting his head. "We're going to break for lunch here, then see about finding another way into Mount Moon. The Zubat squeaked, and flew around in circles again, and latched onto her head. Kasiya sighed, and set up for lunch.

Jason made his way to Icefall Cave... he entered it and saw the water in the cave... "OK," he said. "It's time to come out, Frostbite!" He took out his Pokeball and released Frostbite. His Lapras cried out it's name and it echoed through the cave walls... Frostbite surfed in the water and headed to group of Lapras. The other Pokemon surrounded Frostbite and snuggled against her. Jason watched in awe as the family of Lapras said good-bye to Frostbite.

Then, suddenly all the Lapras pointed their heads upward and sent Ice Beams at the ceiling of the cave. The beams of ice hit the ice on the ceiling and sparkles of ice floated down to the water... for a moment, the whole cave was shimmering in blue and white... then Frostbite came back to Jason and they exited the cave once again... Jason waved to the other Lapras and they set off to the SS Aqua.

Kasiya watched her Pokemon eating their lunch, but only nibbled on hers. She loved having the four of them around (and was astonished over how many she owned already), but she still wished someone would travel with her constantly. She sighed, and leaned back in the soft grass. This secluded little area was wonderful, she thought. It was quiet and peaceful, and nobody seemed to come here. Now, if she could just find a way into Mount Moon and do some searching around...

"Koffing!" it laughed at the Paras.

"Paras! Stun Spore!" Erika ordered. The small red Pokemon lifted its backside into the air and began to shake the two mushrooms violently. A fine yellow dust began to come from it.

"Man...do all of your Pokemon have a dust attack?" Kilik laughed, repositioning himself. His black hair fell over his left eye and the tip of his trenchcoat grazed the ground. "Koffing, use Smog! Blind that Paras!" The same black smoke that the Koffing created when they had first met came from its mouth. The entire battlefield was covered with it. The Koffing came from the top of the cloud, laughing its name. It spun around a few more times.

"Paras?" Erika called. There were skitting sounds. The Paras jumped from the top of the cloud, its eyes shut tight.

"Tch...Koffing, Tackle!" The purple ball flew down and knocked Paras on the head with its chest. The creature flew back slightly.

"Paras! Scratch!" The Pokemon jumped up and scratched Koffing across the middle of his body. Koffing closed its eyes and acted like it was shaking its head.

"Koffing! Poison Gas! Show that Paras that we can cause status, too!" A purple fog emitted from the holes in Koffing's body. Paras was caught on the brim of the gas, so it didn't recieve the full blow of the poison. Both gases created by Koffing disappeared.

"Paras! Scratch it again!" Erika ordered. The Pokemon jumped up and cut Koffing with its claw again. Koffing groaned.

"How's about another Smog attack?" Black smoke belched from the insides of Koffing, covering the battlefield once more, "Now, Tackle that Paras!" Kilik felt a new rush of energy. He was so happy. This Gym battle was a lot different than the one at Rustboro. When Koffing dipped into the smoke and came back up, he had something on his head.

"Paras?!" the Pokemon squeaked. The Paras sat on top of Koffing.

"Perfect! Paras, use Scratch while on its head!" The Pokemon did as it was told and began to slash into Koffing's head. The poison Pokemon hovered around quickly, trying to get the bug off of it. It hit the wall, and the two Pokemon fell to the ground. Koffing didn't get back up, however, Paras did. It was wobbling as it made its way back to the battle field.

"Koffing is unable to battle! Paras wins the round!" The girl cheered, lifting up the red flag. Kilik lifted up the Pokeball, a bit shocked at the loss, and brought Koffing back to him.

"Flareon...you'll have to endure just a little bit more..." He said, lifting up the fox's Pokeball and looking intently at it.

"I won't let you steal our Pokemon!" replied Jason.

One of the Team Rocket members said, "Boy, you don't know who you're messing with, do you?"

"I know exactly who I'm messing with!" Jason yelled. "I'm messing with a group of pathetic losers who have nothing better to do than to steal other people's Pokemon!"

"Oh that's it!" growled the Rocket member... "Go, Seviper!"

"How did you find that in Kanto?" asked Jason.

"We're not from Kanto-- we're from Hoenn," replied the Rocket Member.

"Go, Frostbite!" said Jason.

"Seviper," the Rocket member started. "Use Poison Tail!"

"Frostbite," Jason called. "Use Thunderbolt!" The zap hit Seviper directly and it faltered.

"Get up, Seviper!" yelled the Rocket member. "Go- use Haze!" A thick, black smoke came out of the snake's mouth and the whole boat was covered in haze.

Jason couldn't see a thing... then suddenly, Seviper came bursting out of the darkness hitting Frostbite square in the face. Frostbite cried out in pain... "Now use Surf, Frostbite!" called Jason.

The Lapras slid off the Ferry and splashed into the water... a huge wave was heading for the boat and hit Seviper and Team Rocket... they fell off the boat and were carried away by the waves...

Kilik released his Flareon. "Flare..." it whimpered, still breathing heavily.

"Can you do this? Paras is looking pretty weak, too..." the trainer knelt down beside his Pokemon and stroked it. It nodded. "All right then..."

"Flareon versus Paras! Let the battle begin!" The red haired girl waved the flags one last time for the Gym challenge. Kilik took a deep breath.

"Paras, Scratch!!" Erika cried. The insect crawled slowly over to Flareon and slashed it weakly. Of course, in Flareon's condition, it still hurt.

"Flareon...Ember attack!" Small little flames came from its mouth. If you could call them flames. The three orbs hit Paras on the head. The Pokemon ran around frantically, trying to get the fire out. Flareon followed it with its eyes. It was really tired. "Flareon, Tackle it! You can win this!" The fox Pokemon dashed, using its last bit of energy to knock Paras out.

"Paras is unable to battle, Flareon is the---" the girl stopped as she raised the blue flag. Flareon wobbled a bit and fell down, "It's a double knockout..." she whispered, lowering the flag back to her side. Kilik gasped and ran over to his Pokemon's side.

"Flareon! Are you okay?" it didn't answer. He picked it up and held it in his arms, "If you didn't want to battle, you should have given me a nudge or something..." he clutched it.

"Flare...eon Flare Flare..." it whispered before falling asleep. Kilik rubbed his eyes for a second. It pained him to see his Flareon in such a horrible condition. He looked at Erika.

"I'll have to challenge you again later...right now, my Flareon needs medical atten---" Erika had approached him. She took his palm and placed something in his hand. She closed his fist around it.

"You earned it. Now go get that Flareon some help." She smiled warmly. Kilik opened his hand. Resting on his palm was his shiny new Rainbow Badge. His eyes lit up.

"Thank you Erika..." he ran out of the arena, holding Flareon close. He dashed past the two trainers that had helped him get in. The boy jumped a ledge and ran through some of the trees, "We're almost to the Pokemon Center, Flareon...it'll be okay," he scratched the Pokemon behind the ears, still holding onto his Badge.
