Her eyes wandered up from the table-top to his face.
"I'd like to get to know you better."

"And after what I've heard so far, it seems that either someone of this world took care for you and then left you in the Tundra - or your god, Io, brought you back and gave you another live."

Her eyes would be met with his. Cursed, the slittled red orbs bore into and through her at the same time with an emotionless gaze. "I believe it is Io's will that I am here." the monk calmly stated as truth. There were simply no other explinations to such a phenomenon.

She wasn't expecting him to open his eyes.
Still, was it easier than the last time, back in the forest? Lucind couldn't tell.
For now she tried hard to hold his gaze.

"Ah...'see..."

Her psychic system though reacted first, or rather sounded the alarm, starting to "switch on" psionic shields to protect her soul. Again the effect of his look, the feeling reminded her of a forced "dive", done by another Siren.
Aggressive mind invasion had always been part of her training, allowing her clan members to try to give her a psychical overkill, to damage her soul in earnest. It was a risky but necessary exercise on her way becoming as skilled as a half-blood could be.

But this was something else. The monk had said he could see her soul, yet he didn't look at it but through and beyond. As if her soul and her body weren't existant in his eyes.
Therefore Lucind wasn't sure what to do: reinforcing her shields or giving up any resistance.

Finally, when her eyes became watery, she dropped her look. Tongue nervously licked over lips. Hands on the table-top clutched each other.
With her voice calm as before, though, she asked:

"Why don't you look at me?"

"..." it took him a while to figure out what she meant, the way he looked through someone instead of at them. "Do you want to know?" his tone of voice was grave, almost a suggestion that she didnt want to. There was not real way for him to decribe what he saw, the only way he could do so was to show her, to let her see through his eyes.

Lucind seemed to freeze in her motions, not even blinking.
It was an offer. A tempting one. But she was aware of the warning undertone in his voice.
She swallowed.

"Do you think I could stand that?"

A counter-question. She couldn't decide to simply choose yes or no.

He shrugged, not knowing what anyone else was capable of, if she would go insane with just a glimpse. But essentially, that was the only way she could understand.

"I dont know." he simply replied. There was no way for Kraun or Lucind to tell without a possibility of trying, having no experience to what the other was capable of. It was simply the truth.

She nodded, the slightest of a smile on her lips.
"I'd really like to know, to understand."

Lucind stretched and tried to relax.
"But not now, not today. I first have to...prepare some things."

Another reason to contact her clanleader. And most likely Hetel would mentally kick the Half-Siren's a** for even considering something like that, after all facts concerning the monk Lucind had collected so far.

"Did you ever show someone else...what you see? - And if so, what happened?"
Lucind wasn't sure she wanted to hear the answer.

"No." the monk answered, he had never shown anyone else what he saw. Once again, his eyes were closed, and the area seemed to fall into an uneasy silence. It was probably best that she didnt know anyways, but it would leave the question unanswered.

"Hmm..."

She sighed and leaned back once more to drink the last bit of her malt beer.
Maybe it was too risky after all if nobody knew the possible effects.

After leaving the inn, Lucind showed Kraun the magnificent gardens, laying around the merchant's area. On their way back to Feimurgan she added some more facts and news about Latent which she'd previously forgot.

Once they'd entered the store - a few employess were there to clean everything - Lucind asked the monk if he would like to learn the basics concerning working with a computer now or rather have some time for himself.

Silver Alexander

An indescernable amount of time later, light assaulted Silver's shut eyelids. Slowly slipping back into consciousness, he opened his eyes, only too shut them tight again, the brightness too much for his illadjusted eyes after his long rest.

As his vision slowly adjuested, he sat up groaning, rubbing at his sore head idly with one hand. He looked around to find himself in the bed he usually slept in, in the familiar setting of the modest house in Latent he had been laying low at with Mitsuyo since the Stadium's destruction.

Silver looked down to find his shirt missing, and then at his hand to find all his wounds from the recent battle newly cleaned and dressed.

"What the hell..."

"Welcome back to the land of the living."

The voice floated out, in a feminine tone, and soon the image would come into focus, revealing a very large cleavege. Mitsuyo was staring right down at the prone Silver.

Silver would look up to find massive cleavege before him, and immediately his face flushed bright red and he looked away. He would know those anywhere. Not that he had ever been looking before or anything. Besides, he had, uh, heard her voice, too. Easy enough to tell who it was... yeah.

"Mitsuyo..."

Silver looked around the room once more, and his right hand again, everything a little clearer now. He was still a bit groggy, though. He had probably slept a while.

"What happened... how did I get... the last thing I remember was..."

And then it all came flooding back. Silver's eyes widened and he shot up with a jolt.

"The docks! The town! Is everything okay?! Is the battle still going on?!"

He looked about the room frantically as if it would answer his question, maybe revealing signs of a fire or battle. They would have probably made it this far into town by now if he'd fallen asleep.

"You've been asleep for over two weeks."

((Catching up! :smacks his hands: ))

Smiling still, her arms folded across her chest, as she leaned back up. Pressing against the wall, she turned her head to the side, yawning a little. "Everythings long been taken care of. About time you woke up as well."

Her tone turned somber now as she stared down at him. "Because we have a very serious problem on our hand."

Silver's body relaxed a little, at least the town was out of danger, but his eyes remained wide in shock.

"Two weeks..."

Could he really have slept that long? What the hell was in that needle? Well, better than being dead he supposed... His expression softened and he just smirked.

Silver turned his whole body to hang his legs over the side of the bed. He groaned a bit and raised a hand to rub at his stiff neck. He definately felt like he'd slept that long.

"Oh, another problem already? If it's not one thing it's another... Vacation wasn't nearly long enough..."

Silver ran a hand through his platinum locks to move a few stray strands out of his eyesight. He obviously hadnt been groomed lately, and his hair was getting longer. He then turned his head to look directly at Mitsuyo. Even when it came to her sometimes grisly ninja duties, somber wasn't like her. The situation must be genuinely serious this time.

"So, what is it now?"

"Last week a messenger arrived. A messenger from Guldor." She lowered her head a bit, fingernails nervously etching into the flesh of her forearms. She didn't know how much of the background of their little "group" Silver had been privvy to... but the name should at least stand out to him.

"Everyone...Everyone back at home....has been killed. There were no survivors."

"Guldor... you mean... where the Kyo are from, right? The Towers? Ive never been, but..."

Silver shot out of bed and onto his feet at the next part of what Mitsuyo had to say, turning his whole body to face her and leaning close, desperation in his eyes.

"What?! ALL the Kyonuske in Guldor?! KILLED?! How?! By who?!"

He was becoming frantic again.

Such a thing... it couldn't be true... could it? Nobody could take out that many... as a clan we're invincible... aren't we...?
