RinoaHeartilly KitoYasha Sadly, I hardly ever practice anymore. I've been playing guitar for almost a year now, and having been kicked out of band in seventh grade, I just haven't found much time. I feel so ignorant. =/
I can still play well, though, for someone who hasn't played in ages. I guess. I use To Zanarkand from Final Fantasy X as my warmup music. Works pretty well. ^_^ w00+! Final Fantasy music seriously kicks. I use Eyes on Me. <3 xD That's a pretty song. ^_^ Isn't it from VIII? (It would make sense, in regards to your name. XD)
Yesterday, I also found some flute songbooks from ages ago...they were a friend of my mum's, and they're awesome. I now have the flute books for The Lion King (one of my favourite movies EVAH!), Aladdin, and the play Les Miserables. Fun, fun!

Works pretty well. ^_^ I have a hard time playing To Zanarkand (but that might be because the version I have was written for piano). It incorporates every note I can't play. Then there's Zidane's theme from FF9, it has a high F (don't know the technical name for the note but it's above the really high C). I have a huge folder of FF music. I haven't been here since before Disneyland, wow. It was really fun BTW. 3nodding

I heard about that. I never noticed it, but then, I'm not very observant, and I haven't watched it in forever.
Keltzy: A whole folder full of Final Fantasy music? That's ferkin' sweet. Where did you find it all?

I have that song from the internet (I have no clue where else to get it, so there you are) and I play it often...it's really fun and peaceful, too! Plus it's fairly simple to play. And since the notices don't fluctuate too much, it's great for long tones. I also got "The Place I'll Return To Someday"...or something like that. I'm not quite sure of the title, but I do know that it's from ONE of the Final Fantasy games! It's very nice for flute since I believe the original composition is for flute either way.

Actually, I've never heard that one. I like First Love from Final Fantasy VIII, though. It's fun-fun, but it's on piano. Still, piano parts aren't hard to make into flute parts; you just take it up or down an octave, or so. =]

For the one who asked about help with really high notes. I've always been told to open the back of your throat more. Pay attention to the back of your throat next time you yawn^ ^
That will generally works for all wind instruments, in all registers. That's just something that helps wind players.
It'll help your tone, and your dynamic control too : )

Hai, that does help me a lot. But, not having picked up a flute in almost two years, I can barely play a high C. =/ I'm par-thetic.

Hmm...not very many people know that song, but you can find it around the 'net. So, basically, to transpose from piano to flute, you just need to go an octave higher or lower? Thanks! :0 I'll try that!
The opening in the back of the throat is especially important, yes, but also tonguing to get the air going fast also helps. ^^
Aw, 2 years? You should start playing again! : D
