(Stareach Sea)

Jack sloshed his way through the shallows, tail draging behind him but with his head up and a determined look in his hard brown eyes. His small raft bobbed just a few paces out in the water. It's jury-rigged sail limp and it's anchor firmly nestled in the soft silt of the island's shore. Despite his exhaustion his pace was not staggering nor slow, but a strong purposeful stride. The reason for this being the massive ship mast he could see protruding above the heads of some tropical tree's a bit further inland.

His old heart was beating a mad rythm in his chest as his weary paws found the strength to pick up speed once he broke the treeline. Stumbling over hidden vines and rocks, he careened through the slender tree trunks. His throat dry from panting gasps he did not slow, even to subdue the ache in his joints

Destin muttered under his breath as he trotted along the shores of the Stareach Sea. His daughter had disappeared again, and this time she had disappeared into Nowhere. Grand....

grunted softly with a narrow brow, he halted to the sound of a rustle up ahead and spotted a ship not too far up shore. "Zhaneel?!" he shouted out, holding himself in place for a moment to listen for an answer.

When nothing came in response, he darted farward, reaching the boat and slowing to take a better look at it. A few sniffs confirmed his thoughts. His daughter was no where near here, but... He spotted the paw prints of something leaving the boat and heading in land.

Hmm...

"Hello...?" he called out then took a deep breath. 'It's not Zhaneel, but perhaps they've seen her... or better, they can help me look for her...' he bit his lip. 'That is... if it's not a wild Nightmare...'

Setting aside all fears, he stepped onward, following the foot steps into and beyond the treeline. "Hello?!" he called again. "Anybody out there?!"

Stareach Sea

Was his old ears playing tricks on him? Jack stumbled to a halt, heaving and panting in his exhaustion. No..no he certainly had heard a voice. Glancing over his shoulder and through the tree's jack took another step inland, then spun about and took three paces back towards shore. Shore or inland? Shore or inland? Back inland he turned, two steps that way, then about face and one step to the shore. The dilemma he faced was simple. His ship was here, he knew it as well as any pirate knew there was gold in the coffers of a church Now while he could rush on to his precious ship, he'd risk leading that there unknown voice to it's hidden away place, and he really didn't want to do that until after he had laid claim to...that thing he'd been wanting to lay claim to in secret. However, if he turned back to the voice, he risked dallying and wasting time that could be well put to use collecting his treasure! "Bloody hells!"

Destin ran a picked up his pace, following the scent trail left by the one he hoped would be kind to help him out. But then... he slowed when a voice reached his ears. 'What an odd thing to say...' he thought to himself then continued onward.

"Uh... Hello?" he swallowed hard, hoping that person... or thing... whatever the hell it was wasn't evil in the least bit. It was oddly quiet just inside the tree line, and he couldn't help but shake the feeling that he was being watched. "I-I'm not here to hurt you!" he started again, then continued on to follow the scent.

Stareach Sea

With a over animated rolling of his head, jack turned and tromped on towards the voice. It was too close now to shake off and it was best he dealt with his tracker now then later. Pushing through some fern fronds, jack's head more or less popped up from within. His dark brown eyes glancing over Destin with a wary slant to both his head and eyes.

"Now who's to say who means who harm? A bit presumptious and ill advised to be announcing one's intentions before one even has a chance to know what one is facing don't you think lad?"

Destin blinked.... then blinked again... then he blinked a third time before finally tilting his head. "Are... Are you alright?" he asked then shook his head.

"Nevermind... Look..." He sat down a bit on his haunches. "I'm looking for my daughter. She's run off again and I'm afraid she might run into some trouble in these parts...." He paused, making a funny face as he thought over what he had just said. 'These parts?' He scrunched up his nose a bit. 'Meh. I'll deal with my English later. Find Zhaneel first, then deal with my English.'

He looked back at the... strange... and oddly swaggering Dream, making another blink before continuing. "You haven't seen a young female Nightmare, Black and Yellow in color... Have you?" he asked. "Sort of childish? Curious? Has a bit of ADD?"

Destin could care less if he was talking jibberish to the male. At least, in Destin's mind, he was possibly gaining some help?

Today was a day that he know he would recall for the rest of his life. Last week he was home in his bed. He had been home for about a year. Now he was here in this place. He had no idea where he was. He had no idea how he got here.

He had been walking around all morning trying to find all the info he could. He tapped at his tricorder to try and get it to work but it would not. It would not take any readings of this new land. He almost wanted to throw it on the ground then jump on it smashing it into many pieces.

He did at last pick up and rock and threw it. He heard a loud noise that sound like a voice when the rock fell. He bit his lip crap he thought. He ran over to where he heard the voice and saw a little person like thing. It was black and red. He had to smile a bit something about its hair.

(( No problem! =D Don't worry about it. ))

(( Treedawn ))

Lida sat on another thick branch the two had come across. They had flown further up still, having to carefully dodge the many branches that stuck out from the thick trunk. Keiki was lying next to her on the branch curled up, fast asleep. Sometimes as she slept Lida would look over to see her crying, this always made the Nightmare curious as to what she could be dreaming about, what could have possibly made the Mote so sad before she had even seen anything of the world. With the quiet of Treedawn and Keiki being asleep Lida found herself thinking of the Dreams she had left at Crimflow Temple. 'Would they realise I'm missing?' She thought to herself before remembering the commotion when Matrea and Sonstine had come out of the hole safe and alive. Sighing Ryjah came back to mind. Lida hoped so much that she hadn't hurt him by leaving. She didn't want that. "But he didn't even know why I left," the pink Nightmare said aloud getting sad at the thought.

Keiki stirred and opened her eyes. Lida was sitting next to her deep in thought, she hadn't even noticed her Mote awake. Not wanting the ruin the silence she stayed quiet. Keiki became increasingly curious as to how high they were and peered over the edge of the branch. Something far below them seemed different. Yes, she could see it, black and yellow. She squinted to try and see what the thing was but from above it was hard to tell. "Mistress," Keiki said quietly and cautiously, "there is something on the tree with us." With her small arm the Mote pointed to the black and yellow colour.

Lida was brought back to reality as the sad Mote spoke. She hadn't even noticed her wake up. Listening to what she had to say the Nightmare also peered over the edge of the branch following the direction Keiki was pointing out. There was a definate black and yellow 'thing' below them. But to what it was Lida had no answer. Thinking for a moment she paused and then sat back relaxing a little, motioning for Keiki to do the same. "Whatever it is, it shall eventually come closer and then we shall see. But for now it is a way off from us. I doubt it shall cause us any harm, whatever it is." She said trying to convince not only the Mote but herself.

(( Crimflow ))

Rikku was ecstatic that Matrea was back safe and alive, even Sonstine too! She smiled widely, until she became increasingly worried about Matrea. He hadn't moved. "Ma-" She began before he collapsed onto the floor. Silent. Rikku remained where she was, shocked. "Matrea!" She shouted with concern at the multi-coloured Dream before his speech, badly muffled by the floor. She sighed and broke into a smile again. "You had me worried again!" The Deejarne tried to sound annoyed but it was hard for her to sound so when she was smiling.

In the corner of her eye she had noticed Ryjah move away. She expected he had gone to fetch Lida back from wherever she had gone. Remaining in her optimistic state she had not even had the passing thought that her Nightmare 'sister' had left Crimflow. After a moment and neither had reappeared Rikku glanced in the direction of the entrance to the Temple with a serious look on her face. "Don't you think Ryjah and Lida have been gone a long time?" She took a step in the same direction but then stopped and turned back to Matrea, they were probably just lost, the cosplay thought trying to reassure herself again.

((Crimflow))

"I'll go check on them..." Sonni grumbled with an over-exagerated sigh. She lightly bopped Matrea on the head with one of her tails as she walked over him and passed Rikku.

"Stay with the kid..." she practically ordered the cosplay while throwing a thumb over her shoulder to point Rikku in Matrea's direction. She turned down the hallway and headed back outside the temple to look for Ryjah and Lida.

"Mffjeyna Mffignna!" Matrea muffled again and his shoulders gave a twitch. Only... The muffling wasn't from Matrea...?

"Mnie ffnaid--..." His shoulders shifted, almost as if something was pushing him up from beneath him.

"--Get Off!!"

Something that remotely resembled a snake in appearance tumbled out from under Matrea. The poison mote quickly resulted in gasping - taking in the sweet air from around her before casting a glare over at the unconscious dream.

"Who?! Who in their right mind falls asleep on the floor when there's pillows about, hmm?!" she hissed and even contemplated flicking his nose with her tail before she caught sight of something out of the corner of her eyes.

Looking up, the tiny isis blinked at the cosplay deejarne then straightened up, her arms crossing themselves over her chest as she coiled her tail beneath her to better support her stance. "Oh! Hello, dear." she started. "Is this your friend?" she asked, jerking a thumb over to Matrea's sleeping frame.

((Outside ze fire temple))

"Ryjah?"

Sonstine trotted up to her 'brother' and blinked before taking a chance to look and see just what it was that he was staring so intently at. Her eyes narrowed at the sight of the tree and she crossed her arms before her. "Huh. That's new..."

"Lida took off without talking to any of us. She headed in that direction." Ryjah stated in a cool and collective tone.

"So... Why tell me?"

"Because I can..." he smirked, using one of her own lines against her.

"Touche..." she half snarled, half muttered to herself. Sonni then smiled and shrugged. "Well, you can't get too far with that paw of yours, I guess I better go with you..." she grinned and patted him softly upon the head, knowing he hated the action. "I'll go get the kids, Pop." she snickered and turned to head back into the temple.

((Treedawn))

Zhaneel took a deep breath and closed her eyes to regain focus. "Oook. Rule number one about tree climbing... Don't. Look. Down." Giving a confirming nod to herself, she spread her wings again. She had rested some.

"It's just like climbing a tree back home..." she started, now reaching up for a branch to start manually climbing. "... Only... Without anyone at the bottom to catch me..." She gave a characteristic groan - much like students give when their teacher assigns homework for the weekend.

"I can do this..." she reinstated then nodded, pulling herself up another branch. "My wings will catch me." With new assurance, she began scaling the tree with more confidence, soon finding the fun found when climbing limbs to new heights.

(Starreach Sea)

Jack tilted his head, listening to the rambling of the other dream as he carried on about a..daughter? Well now, that did perk jack's interest some. His ears lifting a little as he paid mock, or perhaps not so mock, interest in the boy's stumbling, rumbling, and otherwise tumbling words.

"A girl..a girl..." Jack brought a paw up to tap at his braided chin as he gazed skywards. "'Fraid not lad. I've seen no female for days now, and I surely would have taken notice of one so prettily colored as you describe. Though you can rest assured she's not on this here island, for if she were, as you feel, to have run into a sort of trouble, then she'd have run into me. And as we can clearly see she has not run into me, she can not be in trouble, as you feel, and can not be here. Perhaps the next island over. Lovely little spit of land just a few hours south..."

Jack reached a paw up, intending to take Destin around the shoulders and guide him back towards the shore. "In fact I have a dandy little raft moored just a little ways away. I, being such a gracious and concerned man, would allow you the privilidge of borrowing it just to help speed you on your way to discovering the whereabouts of your poor missing daughter. No need to thank me now, just take it and god's speed to you."

Rikku nodded at the Deejarne as she walked past. It sounded more like and order than a request to her but she would do it all the same. As the muffled speech became more frequent she leaned over and peered down. It didn't even seem to be coming from Matrea. She cocked her head to one side but jumped backwards with a start when the snake-like 'thing' tumbled out from underneath her friend. Rikku calmed down as she saw how small it was, but to her it still looked threatening, she hated snakes. The Cosplay was even more startled to hear it speak, but she replied in a shaky uncertain voice, "Erm... H-hello. That's Matrea. He's my best friend!" Rikku finished off happily, now becoming more curious than scared. "I'm Rikku." She said with a smile.

(( Treedawn ))

"Mistress, it's moving." Keiki leaned her head over the side of the branch again and watched as the black and yellow moved closer. "It's climbing up the branches." Whatever it was, it fascinated the Mote. It was like a mystery.

Lida watched as Keiki leaned over again and informed her on what was going on. She smiled a little. She had such curiosity. The Nightmare leaned over to see what Keiki was looking at and squinted. "Looks like..." She couldn't be sure because of the distance between themselves and the black and yellow thing but Lida thought it looked like a Nightmare. She shook her head. She would have to wait until it got closer.

((Starreach Sea))

Destin's face skewed as the other dream seemed to talk, and despite Jack's efforts to move him closer to shore, Destin's rump was unmistakably "glued" to the ground.

"Jack...?" he asked then shook his head softly. There was a Jack cosplay back at his island home who acting alarming identical to this Jack before him. The only difference was the species, but it still startled Destin a bit. He looked at Jack for a long moment before shaking his head and rolling his ears back. "Oh dear god. I should have seen that coming..." he mumbled to himself and turned, continuing to move away from shore.

"I have no need for a raft because I obviously just came from shore myself." he stated then sighed. Knowing he was going to regret asking this next question, but still offered it anyways. "What is it that you're looking for? If anything I can help you find it while I look for my daughter." he offered then looked about. "She always has a tendency to show up at the most random moments and her timing isn't always so great..."

He muttered the last few parts to himself...

((Treedawn))

A little further up the tree she went before pausing to take another break. It seemed like this tree went on forever and she groaned to herself. "Why, oh, why did I follow my stupid idea...?" she pouted and chanced another look down.

"GAH!" she jumped, cleaning to the tree again.

"Alright, Zhanny." she began talking to herself. "You can do this! Daddy always tells you to never quit what you started..."

She blinked then nodded as she instilled more confidence in herself. "Never Quit..." she nodded once more then looked up. "I'm almost there...?"

Blinking again, she spotted something looking down at her. "Never...?" It looked like... two something's looking down at her. "...Quit...?"

Curiousity compelled, she grabbed another branch, now heading up to a new (and much closer) goal. "Maybe they'll want to play!" she told herself in almost a maniacal cackle.

((Crimflow))

"Dhakia!" the little mote smiled. She was surprisingly chipper and gave off a pleasant aura despite her scaly appearance. "I'd shake your hand, but I might poison you on accident." she sweatdropped.

"But don't worry!" she quickly waved her hands up in assurance to the Deejarne. "You're friend is fine. He'll be waking up soon. I guess he's just a little shaken up."

She turned about slowly then blinked and noticed the appearance of the room about her. "Wow. What happened here?" she asked with a tilt of her head and a flutter of her gold and blue wings. "This is the Fire Temple in Crimflow, isn't it...?"

(( Crimflow ))

Rikku now quickly started to get over the snakey Mote. "You're not scary!" She said aloud crouching down to get to a better level. "It's nice to meet you Dhakia." She reached out her hand for a shake but quickly withdrew it with a nervous giggle. Poison me!? She thought. "Well, that's good. Come on Matrea! Wake up!" Rikku softly poked the Dream on the floor.

She looked about the room as Dhakia did so, "Well... Alot happened. It's hard to describe," she began, "there was alot of commotion in Nowhere and then there was this huge stom! And then Matrea ended up in that hole over there and then Sonstine jumped in after and then the storm stopped and then my sister Lida went missing and Ryjah went after her so Sonstine went after him and now Matrea's on the floor." Rikku took a large breath after finishing. She had said the entire sentance in one go, re-telling the events quickly and failing to mention who any of the people she had just spoke about were.

(( Treedawn ))

Lida could see it now quite clearly. The 'Black and Yellow' was a female Nightmare like her. She had not met one before.

She continued to remain silent watching as the Nightmare came closer to her own branch. Only a few branches seperated the two, it would be quite easy to speak to each other from where they were but Lida would not say a word. Every Dream she had met so far she had parted ways with and she did not want the hurt again. It would be better to stay silent. Yet Lida was drawn with curiosity to the female, she wanted to meet another like her.

Keiki fluttered her wings happily yet her face still looked incredibly sad. The 'thing' was getting closer, soon she would be able to see what it was. "Wow" she said, amazed, as she became increasingly aware that the climbing 'thing' looked just like Lida. As her curiosity turned to fear at what this new Nightmare would be like Keiki flew behind Lida and rested her arms on her shoulder, peeking over.

(Starreach Sea)

Well this wasn't at all what he wanted. With Destin committed to searching the interior of the island and unwilling to go back the way he came, it left jack scrambling a little bit.

"Now here now mate." Jack quickly replied with a flourishing bounce to get ahead of Destin and bring him to a stop. Twirling to face round on him, Jack attempted his most charming of grins, a flash of gold glinting in the corner of his mouth. "Two man's eyes are best put to use in different directions, I always say. What say you leave this bit of island to Jack to search and you just hurry yourself along to one of the other islands nearby. I've already seen a fair share of this island, as you have not, and you'd be bound to search the same places good 'ol Jack has already covered, thereby prolounging your misfortunate seperation from your young lass. Where as you know what islands nearby you've already searched, as I do not, and would be a waste for me to just guess where you have been and have not been. What say you?" Jack hurriedly finished up his quick talking with a leaning pose towards the other dream. The mention of helping 'him' in his searching though caused Jack to lean back. His ears laying flat to his head as he lifted and placed a paw to his chest.

"Searching? Me? Now where ever did you go and get yourself an idea like that? Were I searching for something, and I assure you I am not, then that something would have to be lost. And as I have nothing lost to be searching for so there is no need for any help in searching to be. Save perhaps your daughter, but I think we've already covered that already..."

Destin's gaze seemed to narrow as he rolled his eyes a bit. Jack's conversations always gave him a headache back home. "I do agree with you Jack. Two man's eyes are best put in different directions." he grinned as he half turned to look back in the direction of the shore. But Destin already had a plot forming in his thoughts. "... If they're put to use in watching eachother's backs of course."

"Let's say perhaps I do go on my own way - the way you want me to go which is the same way in which I just came from." he pointed out. "Let's imagine for a moment that I run into some Nightmares that wish me ill or worse. Or better, what if, upon finding my daughter she's being attacked and who should come along and save her but none other than Captain Jack Sparrow himself!" He let a sly smirk fall upon his fuzzy lips. "Who knows Jack, you help me find her and possibly save her - she might grow a liking to you, good Captain." He then looked off to the side with an odd scowl. "She does like the adventurous types..."

He fell silent for a moment then tilted his head with newly embedded curiousity. "What's on this island, Jack? There has to be something if you're trying to get me back by the waters."

((Crimflow))

"Odd..." Dhakia murmurred to herself. "Yet, uniquely interesting." she half hissed and moved closer to the area of the hole, peering down it some. "You said your friend fell down in there?" she asked before bringing a hand to her neck to scratch behind it some. "Very interesting."

She slithered back away from the hole and snaked her way over to Matrea. She tilted her head softly in wonderment for a moment - almost looking like a puppy who was confused as to why its playtoy wouldn't jump up and bark back.

Coiling a bit, she leapt. She used her wings to help grant her some altitude and did one solid jump on top of Matrea's chest before bouncing off onto the other side with a sharp "WAKE UP!" sounding close to his ear.

Matrea woke with a start and a shout out - making him appear as if he had just woken up during the worst part of a dream. He stood on now shaking limb and was half sprawled in his stance as he caught his breath. His eyes jerked from side to side in mild panic before he slowly stood and looked over himself. "I'm... I'm alive?!"

((Treedawn))

They were closer now and her heart was leaping for joy when she saw that one was a nightmare just like her. The other was something much smaller and seemed frightened by her presence which was a good sign. She wasn't heading towards any dangerous people at least.

When she got a branch or two away, she stopped for a breath but decided to make idle chit chat as she gathered her strength again. "Heya! You're a new face! What's your name?" Or maybe not so much idle as hyper...?
