Nanina frowned when Chris didn't respond to her, and she tapped him on the stomch. "Oi. No sleeping."
Shannon was filling out forms and making phone calls. At the top of the callin glist? Chris and Summer's parents.
Keith nudged B into a fast trot, and looked back at Emily. "Where were we goin' again?"

(What are you two up to? And sorry for not posting I won't be on this weekend so I'll go ahead and post now.)
"Sorry, I'm not sleeping. I'm feeling fine, how long have I been in the hospital?" Chris asked her.
Summer smiled up at him and grinned realizing what he wanted at the moment, "Well I know we'll make alot of noise but we'll just have to learn to be quite. Now as to wanting to go there now? Sure why not after all you have a lot to pay for," This last bite she said with a wink and then grabbed his hand and pulled him to her cabin and opened the door. "Welcome to my room." She then smiled at him and pulled him into the room and started kissing him again.

This time, Kahlilia was able to catch the fact that Roman seemed a little nervous. Deciding not to bother him about it, but also remember it as not to provoke him in the future, she stayed where she was and let her thoughts drift to Esmeralda.
The first thought was an earlier statement:
You're a good friend.
When she said it, she had meant it, and she still did. That wasn't something that was going to change. But her reply had been so ... strange somehow, as though in that one statement the other girl had become a new person.
Thousands would disagree ... I don't know if you'll still want to when this is all over ...
What had it meant? Even looking back with a teense bit more knowledge than before, she was still stumpted.
Then, she remembered she hadn't really even seen Esmeralda since that talk. Thinking about it, there was a rational part that suggested the other girl stayed close to the barn while Roman and herself would go into the fields. But there was still that side of worry, a part that nags at you ...
Esmeralda had looked well when she had last seen her. Was it something to do with her ... accident?
Get these demons out of me. Please, please, be okay Esmeralda ...
Then she thought about Ariel. An innocent, gorgeous young filly that was in their perspective ready to grow up to become a superstar of horses. She knew well enough that new, intimidating people can damper a personality or a habit and mold them into a new being. Their baby, her baby ...
She felt as though she didn't want it to happen. She felt as though she could stay here and ...
But no. No, she couldn't do that. Life goes on, Shannon will take good care of Ariel.
Why did she still feel so bad about it then?
Upon hearing Roman's low chuckle, Lily immediatly looked up from her gaze on Kelly's mane. Remembering Ariel's playful attitude quickly and throwing away the hampering thoughts, the girl gave a little giggle as Ariel continued to ask for attention. She was nudging against the boy, lifting or lowering her little head so that she could receive pettings. As previously observed, she was really enjoying it.
Shes so cute, Kahlilia repeated softly, looking at her parents once more. Shes going to grow up being just like them - the girl caught herself and giggled, Or very similiar at least.
Xavier just shrugged; he could be quiet when he wanted to be, which wasn't extremely often. Eh, he would have to work on that a little now because he was literally surronded by the girl-occupied cabins. Once again, his mind flashed back to 'girl-talks' and for a split second he wondered what they even were about. Guys, most things feminine, things like that? He had overheard once or twice and it mostly bored him.
I saw the cutest shirt at the mall today, it would be cool to wear to Mike's birthday party ...
And then there was that 'girl intuition'.
Better not to get stuck in that kind of stuff.
In the room, Xavier's main focus became the bed.
The showers, the barn, the bed ...
Closing the door in a swift movement, he kissed Summer in return with a fire burning throughout relentlessly.
The bed, the bed, the bed ...
Once the kiss stopped it was obvious they both had to take a two minute break to gain back air. After, he scooped Summer up in his arms and gently lay her on the bed, running his hands down her legs as he hunched over her, standing just above. Both were going to end up on the bed in time, but for now he was just enjoying this girl's touch.

((I like being a sillyhead it makes ppl laugh lol biggrin )) Summer smiled up at Xaiver and ran her hands up his chest to his hair where she threaded her hands through it. She then pulled his head down toward her and kissed him again while at the same time pulling him down onto the bed so that he was laying on her. She broke the kiss and then proceeded to take off his shirt to which she started doing other things. She laughed and said, "First the showers, then the barn, now the bed, what's next?" She then smiled a seductive smile at him and said, "Or maybe I'll just cut you off for awhile and see how long we can last. She was acutally half-joking about this but there was a hint, just a hint of seriousness about what she was saying she then waited to see what he would do after she said what she said. ((hope that wasn't to graphic))

As Summer took off his shirt, Xavier took off hers and unhooked the bra underneath it. For now, both garmets hung over the girl's chest, but during it was subject to change. Once hearing her statement and also hearing the seriousness in it, he looked at her and said, After this, we'll see how long we can go without. He was agreeing with her, but he was also asking to do this beforehand.
He could only hope Summer would accept his offer.
Slowly trailing his hands down her waist as he kissed her again, he undressed her completely and then did the same with his own clothes. Now, they were ready. Knowing well enough that he was as he pressed against her hip, the same thought flashed through his head.
Please accept my offer. Just this once, just let me take you.

Esmeralda was smiling sadly as she finished reading Dev's letter. He was so sweet. She could hear some kind of racket going on next door. Suspiciously, she glanced out her window. Yeah, that was Summer's cabin. Smirking to herself, she set her boyfriend's letter aside and picked up her mother's first one. It was long and chatty, with lots of stuff about what the folks were doing while she and Roman were gone. Lots of questions.
"She's gonna be so pissed when she finds out," Esmeralda said aloud to herself, staring off into space. Then her gaze fell on her mother's second letter. Curiously, she picked it up and gauged it. What could her mother have to say that was so important she'd sent a second letter within a week?
She opened it slowly, curious but not worried.

Roman glanced over again and noticed Kahlilia's faraway look. "Hey," he said gently. "What're you thinking about?" She looked really troubled. He wondered if what he'd mentioned about leaving at the end of the summer had bothered her that much. It made him uncomfortable, sure, but he'd dismissed it with the knowledge that they had a long time yet.
His gaze turned to Ariel, smiling a bit when the filly nuzzled him. "She's beautiful," he replied softly. "And she'll be a star. It's what she's born for, Lily - you can just see it in her. She'll shine."
When the filly butted him playfully, he chuckled. "If you're hungry, go see your mama, baby. I have nothing for you." He ruffled that silly little brush of a mane, smiling when she gave a high-pitched little squeal of complaint.

Summer smiled up at him then kissed him again as if to say yes.
(TIMESKIP)
Summer laid there for a moment then smiled at him, "Now comes the hard part to see how long we can go without. So tell me are you going to room with me?" She then got up off the bed and started getting dressed in another pair of jeans and a spaghetti strapped shirt. "Oh yeah, did any of your clothes survive the manure attack?" She smiled over at him then grabbed her socks and tennis shoes and sat on the bed and put them on. She looked at Xaiver waiting for him to answer her.

Esmeralda stared at the letter. Short, she thought dully. She'd thought it was short. Oh, yes, it was. Only a few lines.
It was some sort of joke. Some sort of sick, disgusting practical joke. Her mother...no, her mother would never have written this. She would never try to play such a trick on her only daughter.
Her eyes moved unseeingly over the words. She'd already read them four times, in an attempt to make her mind understand what her eyes were seeing.
...accident...
...drunk...
...died instantly...
"No!" She screamed it at last, crumpling the letter in her suddenly clenched fist and hurling it away from her. With all her defiance spent, she collapsed forward, her elbows settling on the desk and her face in her hands. "No. No. No." She whispered it over and over again, as though saying it enough would make it so.
He couldn't be dead. It couldn't end like this. Not this way. When she loved him, when she wasn't there with him at the end? No, it couldn't end this way. They were wrong. She'd gotten a letter from him just today.
Very softly, she started to cry.

Kahlilia looked a little confused at first, and then shook her head slowly. As Roman had, the girl was reminding herself that there was still a lot of time left, and they just had to cherish the moment for what it was. And she voiced it, We've got the rest of the summer. Just as she finished her sentence, Ariel gave a slightly annoyed whicker that was probably similiar to an 'Oh, alright' grumble and trotted over to her mother.
Looking over at Kelly then out of the corner of her eye, Lily noticed that the mare was beginning to get tired. Stroking the base of her long gray ears peacefully, Lily also noticed there was a scar just above her nose. She wondered what that had been. Had she gotten into a fight, or was it something else? She would probably have to think about it later, as she did with about a billion other things in her mind.
It was obviously going to be a while longer before the baby tired back out, and the girl hoped Kelly could hold on for a few minutes longer. Not sure what exactly what to do, she stayed close to the dapple gray mother and relaxed slowly.
Kahlilia giggled again when she heard Ariel's squeal, and as the filly seemed to grow either more entergetic or more impatient. She continued to prance around in her little way, exploring within the eyeshot of her parents and her personal comfort. At most, she would go maybe six or seven feet away to sniff and look around, but then go trotting back to one of the others and give them a nudge. Kelly would whicker at the baby once or twice, a very maternal sound that would most likely be something protective. Don't talk to strangers, don't eat the stuff under the sink, look both ways before crossing the street.
Well, or whatever was the equal to that in horse.
I know its probably normal for Kelly to be tired at this time, but should we take them back? I'm not sure.
Xavier stood up a moment after Summer did, putting his clothes back on peacefully. He looked up at her and smiled once his jeans were fully on, Yeah, these. Not sure what else. Relating to the prank, he hadn't seen most of it. In truth, when his anger exploded he was standing by the bed and hadn't moved, except for when the knocking came on the door.
His voice was still husky from what they had just done and he was obviously still reeling, but despite the overpowering emotions he listened intently to his girlfriend. It would be a good idea to try going for a while without sex, to see if their relationship would be able to survive without such ... physical bonding.
Won't that be fun.
He nodded, giving a little smile again. Yep. 'Course I am, you silly. Walking over still clad in only his jeans, he ruffled her hair playfully and chuckled.
Just as he was doing so, he heard a shout from the next room. Currently unaware that the room just next door belonged to Esmeralda, Xavier was startled. What had just happened?
Now he was curious. Standing up straight, he looked at the wall that connected Summer's room with the other girl's. I wonder what just happened?

Esmeralda was staring at the opposite wall. She was no longer crying - her face was still as stone. One hand rose to wrap gently around the slim gold chain she wore. The one she was never without, despite Shannon's admonition about wearing jewelry on horseback. On the chain there hung a delicate gold band with a tiny sapphire set in it. A ring.
Dev's sign of devotion, though no one but they two knew it. He'd given to her after she'd told him...
With another low cry of agony, she tore the chain off and threw it into the corner of the room. Then she pressed her face to her hands again, stifling the urge to weep yet again. It made it worse that she knew her grief wasn't entirely for him. For the life they might have made together.
It was not only for what might have been, but for what was. "I can't do this alone," she whispered. "Damn you, Dev, I can't do this alone."

Roman glanced over curiously, and smiled a little. "Yeah, we do," he agreed calmly. "And we have all of today to decide what to do with it." When Ariel whickered irritably and wandered back to her mother, he chuckled and shook his head. Patting Phoenix, he watched the filly nuzzle under her mother, looking for food.
He watched Kahlilia, as well. Noticing the scar at the same time the girl did, he lifted a brow slightly. "Wonder what happened," he mused as he patted Phoenix. "Seems a bit hard for a horse to get a scar right there without cutting herself on something."
Ariel squealed again after a few minutes, making Roman shake his head. That filly would be fun to actually train, he thought wryly. She seemed to have truly boundless energy. But then he took a closer look at the slight tremble in the awkward, coltish legs, and the way she kept running back to her mother. "I think we ought to take them back now," he said after a moment or two. "She's liable to exhaust herself. We can take them out again tomorrow."

When Ariel asked her mother for food, the mare let her nurse peacefully, head down and turned slightly to look at the filly. There was a casual snort from Kelly once or twice, sounding like and probably meaning the 'Ow, that hurt! Stop,' sort of thing when babies fed. Kahlilia had a Lsmall female bust, but she could still imagine such a thing as being painful. Like birth. Once again, her thought ran over the brief but sometimes heated arguments where different sexes compared 'experiences.'
Well, we get a period, we get pregnant, we give birth, get cramps and migranes ...
To her, it was pointless. She never paid attention to that sort of thing. Having hit puberty at the tender age of eleven, she hadn't really ever been argumentative about anything except for the fact that suddenly guys stared at her incessantly. Even at eighteen, she wasn't very used to it. Thankfully, none of it showed unless someone was to provoke such a reaction out of the girl. Right now, she looked just as peaceful as Kelly.
At Roman's words, Kahlilia looked up with increasing curiousity and replied, It looks kind of old, She was thinking out loud when she added, Maybe one or two years old. The girl's gaze was on the ragged scar as she spoke, but now she looked back up and gave a soft smile at Ariel's squeal.
I wonder what it'll be like when we train her?
Okay. Oh, and by the way, I've been meaning to ask you. D'you know the time?
Tilting her head to the side in a sort of playful way when she asked Roman her question, her smile lit up a little and she giggled again. She was starting to check the lead on the horses, making sure it was tight enough to hold them but also be comfortable enough to walk on their own. Ariel had returned to her mother's side and when Lily started to lead the duo back towards the direction of the barn the filly continued her trotting-walk. It was an adorable sort of baby thing that lasts for a while but then fades away, such as the grasp reflex that human babies usually had as newborns.
Wow, you're right, Lily said this to Roman in a suddenly giggly voice, keeping an eye on them. Once again, probably some sort of maternal instinct. For all we know, she'll be worn out when we get back to the barn.
They hadn't gone that far, really, but for a filly's first adventure outside it could certainly seem like a great distance. Right now, Ariel was showing no fatigue, but it was possible she might soon.
