When the stranger-cub lowered herself, Kiuma relaxed enough to snort and settle back on her own haunches. Now that she was here, the stranger wouldn't stand a chance if she chose to get rough. "Me and Uumi are the protectors of the Pridelands. Its our job to be angry. Who are you supposed to be, .... Stranger?" She hissed on the last word, puffing out her chest and lifting her lips in a sneer. She already didn't like the other cub, but it took very little to earn Kiuma's dislike. In fact, all it took was an instance that involved her twin that didn't involve her. If she wasn't there, who would watch Uumikaji's back? Help him out if he needed it?
The soft pat of a bug in the dirt drew her attention and her gaze flicked to where it had landed. A little line appeared between her brows. That wasn't a flying beetle... How could it have gotten high enough to make a sound when it landed? Her eyes drifted upwards, the line deepening when she saw a bit of brighter red through the grass.

Kijito scrambled through the grass. A slight gash on his shoulder. As he moved, he hoped he didn't encounter Umi. He was being mean to him just becasue he didn't like to talk. There was nothing wrong with being quiet. Pausing he looked about, spotting Kiuma he began to head towards her.

Glancing back at the conversing cubs upon hearing the beetle land, Danzi noticed the little red female look at the bug, then in his direction. He blinked, ducking down a bit, hoping to not be investigated, at least. He noticed the beetle, crawling away, and silently cursed it for crawling on him in the first place.
((I suddenly have this mental image of all four of the Prideland cubs present suddenly piling on Danzi in some form of 'attack' to drive him either out or toward Pride Rock to 'turn him in' to Muffy xd ;;; ))

Andrani ((I suddenly have this mental image of all four of the Prideland cubs present suddenly piling on Danzi in some form of 'attack' to drive him either out or toward Pride Rock to 'turn him in' to Muffy xd ;;; )) rolleyes Kiuma wouldn't turn him in to her daddy... She'd handle it herself. According to her, she's a 'protector of the pridelands'. Therefore, all newcomers must be carefully screened by her personally. Quite an elevated oppinion of herself...

Uumi glared at Syenia, still standing. "Is everyone in your family as obnoxious as you?" She wasn't obnoxious, more or less annoying. And too smart for her own damn good. He'd get smarter. And out do her. One day. He looked away, toward what his twin was looking to. He raised a brow and took a sharp breath. What the hell was she looking at beetles for?
Suddenly he began to talk, he scrunched up a little, head bowed. Damn, the breath must have brought in too much dust or something. His whole body shook with the disgusting coughing, and when it died down he stayed bowed. He hated those stupid, worthless coughing fits.

Deciding to take the lead, Mchele trotted down innocently to where the three visible cubs were. Of course he stayed a few yards back, not forgetting the frosty reception the red female had given him and Kiburi before. He stopped, quiet, looking on at the other little felines... except they weren't that little, at least a bit bigger than him. Which was also another reason he hung back.
And then there was a little 'pith' where something had hit the dirt a little way away from the other three cubs. His curiousity overcoming his other thoughts, he quickly snuck forward to see what it was. A couple of feet from it he noticed it was moving and reactively crouched and began to stalk the little beetle. His eyes not leaving it's slow progress, his tail twitching slightly.... he seemed to have completely forgotten the other cubs and was now focused on this 'prey'.

((You guys seem to forget, Muffy would rather be playing with cubbies then working. XD And besides that was the grand plannnnnn. If they have the numbers for intimidation, they'll likely never have to fight anyway.
There is one little error on the front page, but it's no biggy really. :3 ))
-As the other slunk away, Kami took the moment to reveal herself from her hiding spot. Trotting over to the resting frame of her mother. She was still hurt from the events of the day.. scaring and running off that poor other cub.. and the large slew of creatures around weren't going to make it better. Nuzzling up against her mommy gently, she closed her eyes, trying to lull herself into a nap, and push away the barrage of thoughts that tried to engulf her.-
-Had he not been out and wandering he wouldn't have heard the scream. It was the sounds of a hunt of course.. but it was strange that the lioness wouldn't have told him about it before they went? Carefully creeping his way up, trying to keep his golden pelt hid within the grasses, he followed the sounds of death, expecting to find the hunt group, and offer them help if needed.
However what he did see.. the single silver lioness.. widened his eyes. Since he'd last seen her, she'd grown, no longer the small cub, but now a beautiful adolescent, coat thick and shining, muscles developing beautifully. So much like her late parents.. but that thought was quickly tossed aside. How could she have done something so careless.. so stupid? To think in that one swift move she may have actually wiped out the last remains of her old tribe.
The sign of blood, and her obvious exhaustion brought him from the grasses, where a stern, fatherly growl touched his voice.- "Eat something.. now"
-He wasn't quite sure what she had in mind to do with the large beast she'd taken down but for now a subtle promise of sorts remained in his mind. He wasn't just going to let a princess die by herself out here in the savannah. After all, what if it were one of his?-

Sarabi came to the waking world at the feel of a small, soft body against her own. Red eyes met a golden pelt, and a warm smile touched the thin, tired face. A deep purr rumbled in her chest as she pulled her daughter close and tucked her up against her creamy chest. "Hello, Kami. Did you have a good day?" She said softly, running her tongue over the cub's head to clean the soft fur. This was the part of being a mother that she loved. Holding her cubs close, feeling the soft, round little bodies. Kiuma's ears flattened against her head and she stood up. After the first step she halted, hearing racking coughs from her other half. Concern for him kept her from going to see what that bit of movement in the grass had been. After all, if she left, who would watch out for Uumi? Especially with that stranger-cub laying over there. The sound of paws behind her made her head turn, red eyes slitted. When she caught sight of her brother, Kijito, she frowned but relaxed slightly. At least she didn't need to worry about her siblings. Being family, they wouldn't try to hurt Uumi while she wasn't around.

Listening to the cubs, Danzi's brow wrinkled at the sound of the red male's coughing. It certainly sounded bad, that was for sure. At that moment, he spied a honey-gold cub with paler gold and white markings on him. Tilting his head, the adolescent blinked, sniffing the wind. He smelled a bit like Bakhti, come to think of it. And he thought he saw that kind of marking splatter on Mahiri's legs, too. His green eyes turning upward, Danzi watched his black mane blow into his face a bit. The winds changed... And as if that weren't enough, another beetle was crawling on his paw again. This time he swatted it off with the back of his other paw, sending it flying in the same direction as the first. Funny how a beetle could skip like that when going fast enough...

Rehani finally noticed who all was around. There was Kiuma, Kijito, the male she had been watching with an intent to pounce had not her mind snapped to another when another cub came to her attention, stalking something on the ground. She moved silently out of hising, towards the twitching tail of the unknown cub. Her paws were as silent as she could make them, lowering towards the groun while her eyes remained ever on the tail.

Whiskers twitching, Mchele sniffed at the beetle, which was trying to make it's slow bid at freedom. Or at least a bit of peace from all the lions that were hassling it. It smelt... like nothing very interesting but it was moving, which made it rather fascinating for the small cub.
Every so often his ear would flick back, checking the sounds of the other three cubs that he knew were there and for any sounds of his sister following. But the adolesent and the other cub that was stalking him went unnoticed.
Suddenly there was another 'pith' sound and another beetle bounced onto the ground about a foot away from the first. Mchele jumped and darted over to inspect this one too. What were these things doing? Falling from the sky?!

She smirked and let a brow quirk slowly as the girl mentioned the word protector, her tail wavering back and forth, ignoring the flop noises sounding from the whizzing beetles. She had no doubt there was another cub back there, whose attention had caught the red female, though she suspected that if he hung back so scaridly - then he probably wasn't of this tribe. A rogue, like herself, perhaps - but Syeira was just too proud to hang back like a scaredy cat. Besides, she rather liked to be a nuisance.
"Protectors, are you?" she grinned, devilishly, "I don't think that's a title that fits very well. Of course your members of the pridelander royals, but cubs don't protect anything. They're, actually, the ones that need protecting. Especially ones like little Uumi here." Her gaze fluttered back to him, watching him intently. The way the female tried to protect him was sickening. If she was sick like the male, there was no doubt she'd be doubly as defiant.
"Of course my entire family is," she added, quite proudly indeed, quirking her ears to add emphasis to the statement. "I think I get it from my father though," she commented, a wry smirk on her lips as she thought to her father - oh, he was her hero. Even if he did use that odd accent of his. "Just be glad I didn't inherit that abusive gene that my brother has," she smirked, evily as she said it. "Fighting is nonsense, it only causes physical abuse - that always fades away. Being able to use your mind, ah, that's something that really takes brilliance." Too many wasted mental abilities, in her opinion. Uumi there, he'd have to learn them eventually, for his own survival. At the thought, she almost laughed aloud - could she get in his head? Manipulate him? Turn him into a wicked, evil little thing like herself? What fun that would be.

A young juvenile lion dashed her way right inside the border of the prideland, silently. The unfamiliar scents filled her, as she inhaled. Quietly, she wandered towards the main part of pride, her tail flickering about with curiousity. Her coat blended into the grass, as her blue ringed tail somewhat stood out. Her blue piercing eyes peered ahead, staring.
