Hotaru Kudo This summer will only make my first year of being a flute, and I can hit all the way up to a high B natural. ^__^ *had to learn uber fast for marching band* Our marching band is the same, there's a ton of high notes in the music. x____x

Ugh, I havn't practiced in ages because I've been trying to learn piano...yesterday when I finally went back to my flute I couldn't get some of my high notes out. I can normally play my scales in 8ths at quarter=115, but when I was practicing yesterday I coulsn't play the highesct octave of my C scale that fast. I kept skipping G and not being able to the the B natural out...but I can always play my 4th octave C! ^_^ Hooray for high notes which annoy all those around you! ANyway, does anyone know a good way to get the really high notes to come out? I've tried blowing more air but 1. That doesn't usaually help 2.I only have so much air to use per note when playing a stupid 3 octave scale.

Sadly, I hardly ever practice anymore. I've been playing guitar for almost a year now, and having been kicked out of band in seventh grade, I just haven't found much time. I feel so ignorant. =/
I can still play well, though, for someone who hasn't played in ages. I guess. I use To Zanarkand from Final Fantasy X as my warmup music. Works pretty well. ^_^

We have high sixteenth notes, trills, and triplets in the flute music for marching band. Maybe Phantom of the Opera isn't so cool after all....ugh!
