"Oh well screw it... WAIT FOR ME!" Jillann yelled and ran to the jeep and got in. walking didn't sound fun. She was planning out what she wanted to do. She was first going to take a shower, assuming that there was more than one, take a nap, and then go shopping for clothes. She sat back in the jeep and waited to go home.

Ah the pure joy of TV. 150 channels and there was absolutly nothing to watch. Markus was slouched on the couch in the Brotherhood parlor flipping channels to see what was on while he waited for some sign of life to appear in the mansion. "Music....nope....Spanish channel...nope...twentyfour hour religious channel? Not in this lifetime...." He settled on the food network. At least there was something remotely interesting being shown on it.

Sitting crosslegged outside on the grass just near the Brotherhood house, Valerie Bell sighed licking gently on a green coloured ice lolly. Her long blonde hair draped down her back and her ice blue eyes stared out at the road with boredom. Beside her sat Mizu who looked just as bored as his mistress was, tandemly sighing they both fell back to lay on the grass.

"Hey Mizu...why the heck are we so bored...I mean...all the neighbours we could terrorise and what do we do...nothing!"

She frowned looking to the clouds, the teen hadnt really done anything since the attack on the X-mansion awhile back, and after that lightening attack she just hadnt been bothered to do much.

"We need Lance!"

Mizu chuckled to the blonde, who sat up and licked her lolly a bit more

"Lance....yeah since they all went somewhere, I havent had anyone to annoy...and noone has a sort temper like he does!"

The pair nodded then Valerie stood up grabbing Mizu as she did, pushing him onto her headtop. Walking inside the Brotherhood house, still with a frown upon her pretty face she looked around to see who was about before boredom stuck. Unfortunatly it hit just as she made it to the stairs and she sat down on the first step with a huge sigh

"Mizu...I just cant be ratted!"

She scratched her nose and took another slurp on her ice lolly with an amusing look upon her face.

Damion started the vehicle off as soon as Jill was in. He was somewhat ammused by the fact that out of all of the possible group ups for the trip back it had ended up being him and three girls but at the same time it was not like he got overly excited about that sort of thing. He grinned when they were neqar the mansion. "Think Asuka will be pissed at what she missed?" he asked. As far as he knew, she was one of the only brotherhood members that had been left behind.

Her dorm room was quiet, thank the Lord for small favors, and after a short shower, and a change of dress, Narcissa found that the confused and drained feeling that had swept through her had still not gone. Simply tying her hair back methodically in a wet braid, she wrapped length after length of it in a circle high on the back of her head. Pinning it securely, she took in her ashen appearence and cringed, knowing that ignoring what had just happened merely hours before hand would not leave her any time soon..

Laying her head down on the cool glass surface of her vanity table and armoir, she simply stayed that way, posture bent as her shoulders remained slumped. Something about her seemed less bright and cheerful as she suddenly began to seem small, rather frail. Her whole persona was crumbling the longer she thought about it.

Sometime later she rose from the desk like a rumpled doll, hair beginning to pale as the day grew late... Her eyes remained a strange glacier blue that seemed rather distant, as if she were everywhere else but there.

The sharp sound of someone laughing from down the hall drew her from her self imposed shell, and she sighed heavily and shook her head rapidly. Enough sulking... As much as she hated to admit it, that was exactly what she had been doing.. Finding her way to the kitchen, she found herself a glass of milk and an only partially eaten package of Oreo's, and plopped down none to lady like at the table. Sitting indian style on the chair, her long skirt fell easily about her modestly.

"Just keep swimming...", she murmured to herself as she opened the Oreo, and ate the middle. Then she set the cookie itself aside on the napkin, and ate another the same way.

"I'm- I'm gonna go take a shower. I usually think better after one of those," Morgan said, half mumbling it. His mind just seemed to be filled with a haze, and he could only focus on one thing at a time. The days events could wait for later. Right now, he just needed to rest.

Later...

He felt his mind clearing slightly, as the almost scaldingly hot water ran over him. The events of the past day were starting to fall into place as the fog cleared from his head. "Dammit!!" he shouted in a mixture of rage, anguish, and confusion. He slammed his fist into the tile wall, leaving several small cracks behind. "Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT!!" He rammed his hand into the wall again and again, to the point where his knuckles began bleeding, and a decent sized chunk of tile was now missing. He watched the blood trickle down his hands, and mix with the water flowing down the drain.

Two of them!! We lost two people today!! he though to himself, as he stared at the gashes in his hand. Within a few moments, they began to close and scab over, his healing factor at work. He switched off the water, and stood there for a few moments, still contemplating everything that had occurred.

He grabbed a towel, dried himself off, and then changed into a pair of regular clothes, before heading back to his room. He didn't want to have to think about anything right now, and he knew just the place to do it. Grabbing his uniform and his weapon, he headed downstairs, straight for the Danger Room.

"Computer, begin Combat Scenario Level 6."

"Loading scenario. Loading complete. Begin in 3... 2... 1..."

The cold metal of the Danger Room flickered and melted away, replaced by a town in ancient Edo. Around Morgan were dozens of katana-weilding warriors, all with the same grim expression on their face. He drew his own blade, and charged forward into the mass of foes.

Later...

Morgan was close to exhaustion after dispatching what seemed like the hundredth warrior to charge at him. But he still refused to stop. Stopping meant that he'd have to start thinking, and he really didn't feel like thinking right now. When he was fighting like this, the only thing that mattered was the battle itself. The outside world was secondary. He felt like he was in his element here.

Just as he swung his blade to gut another fighter, the simulation flickered and faded out, leaving Morgan swinging at nothing but air. He dropped to one knee, using his sword to balance himself panting heavily, and looking for whoever had shut down the simulation.

"Kid, you've been here for an hour. You're gonna kill yourself, you keep that up," came a familiar gruff voice from the doorway to the Danger Room. Morgan knew who it was at the rough manner of speaking, but the smell of cigar smoke only cemented that knowledge. Logan strode across the floor, the cigar clenched between his teeth. "Why'd- Why'd you shut it off?" Morgan said, still catching his breath.

"'Cause someone else wants a try," Logan replied sarcastically. "I ain't never seen you this down, kid," he said, offering his hand to the white-haired teen. As rough as Logan could be some times, he actually did care. He just had his own uniqe way of showing it. "Come on, you need to cool off," Logan said, motioning for Morgan to follow.

"I don't want to cool off. I don't want to cool off, because then I'm going to have to start thinking again, and I don't want to think," Morgan replied, having caught his breath by now. His body had already begun to recover from the ringer that he'd just put it through, but he didn't feel like getting up just yet.

"Kid, believe me. I've been there. Fighting 'till you drop ain't gonna make it go away," Logan said, in one of his rare philosphical moments.

"It makes it go away for a little while. A little while's all I need. A little while when I don't have to think about the fact that one of our own turned on us!!" Morgan said, slamming a forcefield-enhanced punch into the floor of the danger room. "A little while when I don't have to remember that I practically watched one of my friends die!!" he said, punching the floor once more, and leaving a rather large dent where he'd struck. He seemed to be making a habit of smashing things today.

Logan was actually a bit taken aback. He'd never, EVER, seen Morgan this angry before. Hell, he'd never seen anyone in the whole mansion get this angry. "And bustin' up the Danger Room ain't gonna help either. Now stand up," he said, offering Morgan a hand once more. This time, Morgan took the offer, and got to his feet, staring straight at Logan.

"You really do understand, don't you?" Morgan said, studying the way Logan had reacted to his outburst.

"Better'n you know, kid. You up for some grub?" he said, motioning for Morgan to follow him.

"Yeah. Yeah, I am," Morgan replied, his expression softening slightly. "Thanks, Logan," he said.

"Anytime, kid. Anytime."

Carlos was ultimately restless where he was in an unknown lair sitting in a room he claimed for his own until who he considered his immediate superior at the moment, decided to give him something to do. As of the moment he was testing himself. Fundamentaly his powers were infinite so long as he himself had the stamina to keep up the concentration. and He sat on the cot in the room indian style as a dark flowing blanket of darkness emminated from him, moving like a cape. He had been like this for maybe a couple of hours trying to keep his power at a certain level without much distraction he was pleased. Apparently what ever Raze's energy did to the others was only for the moment. Though Carlos loss abit more than half the godly power Magneto gave him, the half he had was enough to still prove stronger then most of the others. Despite the pleasure he brought he was still technicly alone and in the dark. He stood up the darkness slipping off the walls and up his body then engulf him and change slightly forming a cloak with peering red eyes that made Carlos look like death himself. Fundamentaly changing his entire body into a gate way to the void where his powers are generated.

He decided to make a long trip. Somethings he needed he wont go without, and some things he might need to do though he doubted the ability to do them. The entirety of the cloak he manifested closed in on him completely and slowly dissapeared into nothing ness without a trace. The truth being it all went back to where it came fro and carlos was moving through the shadow world. No nightmares or superficial fear gripped him as he passed. He was heading towards the X-mansion, to clean out his room.

Later, after what seemed to be about twenty jumps, he still had a limited yet now lengthy radius to teleport. He was at the gate of the mansion. He would have left magneto only two minutes agof according to his watch which he hoped was accurate. He was getting tired from all the jumping and he wouldn't leave his new master, if that was the word, for very long. Just get his things and go. He looked up and saw a camera beginning to turn in his direction then sank away. Next thing, he was in his room and he looked around to see it undisturbed. He really thought it would have been in pieces or worse. He went over to his boom box and checked it over then picked it up and placed it on the bed as he opened his closet to get a bag so he can pack. He didn't say a word nor made much noise. He paused for a minute then made a quick decision on what to do once he was done.

After about ten minutes he was done packing and let the whole of the baggage slip into the shadow dimension. He could find it easily not like anything else existed in that world. He then sighed and went to his desk and found paper and a pen. Writing a note. He then folded it and sank into a shadow as he searched the mansion. He didn't have to look far to find someone though alot where either busy, grumpy, or showering. Not in the mood for confrontation, a teacher, lecture, and though naked girls would be a treat he didn't want to be a peeping tom, He looked for someone isolated, alone, and possibly who would want to hear from him the most. Quiet simply he could have summed it up to Narcissa. He found her in the kitchen but was unable to appear. It bothered him that he was so close yet still so far away. Only two doors to the kitchen one leading to the dining room which was closed. the other to the hallway still opened. He could count nearly twenty 7 shadows he could make into an exit, but the one that was the door against the wall was the one he chose as he pushed the door from the wall and shut it.. Then locked and closed the shadow behind him doing all this without a sound he wasn't sure if she was ignoring everyone or he was really good at sneaking around. He wasn't to sure what to do but being radical in everyway he let out a small cough to get a attention while crossing his arms and leaning against what was now a shaddowless wall.

" You've seen better days I take it, hot stuff... I would love to stay if it made you happy but I dont have that time or luxury."

Dr. McCoy walked over to the Profesor, who SBen had just lain down on one of the beds. "Is he going to be alright." Kevin said as the Doctor checked on the Profesor.

"Yes," responded Beast. "I have not finished fully checked him or run any tests, but he seems to be just unconscious with little damage done to his body. He should be okay with some rest when he wakes up. Now, thank you for bringing in the Profesor, but you should also rest some Kevin."

Kevin nodded and he and SBen left the infirmary. Kevin decided that he wanted to take a shower first. When Kevin got to the shower there seemed to be a hole in the wall from someone punching it. When he took a shower earlier it wasn't there, so it had been recently done. After finishing his shower, Kevin went back to his room to get SBen who he left there. He looked at SBen and he knew he wanted to do the same thing. They were both hungry, so they set out for the kitchen.

At first Kevin didn't see anyone in the kitchen, but he headed right for the refrigerator. He took out two sodas and then grabbed a bag of chips out of the pantry. Then when he turned around he saw that Carlos was in the room and so was Narcissa. Kevin wondered what Carlos was doing back.

Narcissa had now accumulated a nice sized stack of Oreo cookies on her napkin, every once in awhile; she took a sip from the tall glass, if only to sooth down the sugary sweetness. Sadly, the multitudes of cream filling weren’t helping. The familiar prickling feeling of being watched came to her, and as such her eyes snapped towards the shadowed wall. She should have known.

“Get the hell out.”, her words were a harsh whisper, voice thick from the milk, glacier eyes frosting over as she glared. Yet something about her seemed wrong, as if her statement didn’t have much force behind it. She just didn’t want to argue with him. He was going to make her lose her temper, and she couldn’t do that. Not in the mansion. Not with people who were already hurting enough. “You chose your side Carlos…”

Painfully elegantly she rose from the chair, body unfolding easily as her sharp eyes refused to relent. “You chose, and made sure we knew you’d be willing to fight us… So why are you here?”. Narcissa knew instinctively that he hadn’t changed his mind. Had he nothing better to do for his new boss? Other than to bother her? The blonde haired power house was not in the mood to deal with him, not after Asteroid M. Two hours ago, they could have escalated to blows if it hadn’t been for Raze.

Her hand rose and a swirl of golden light formed at her palm… He would recognize it from the Danger Room. Small but deadly… "Speak or leave."

Carlos stood there and noticed any privacy was mute. Eventually attention would come from all directions. Kevin atleast didn't seem as cazy as Narcissa who was about to light him up for just existing in this moment of time. Still he didn't really listen to her. He guaged every word she said and considered them. When she demanded he either speak or leave he took a small glace at Kevin then stared back at her directly into her eyes. " If picking a side means this. Then blast me now. As far as I see I'm doing the world a favor. Doing the man's dirty work means I can do it MY why, not his." He stared down the little orb of light evenly a dull faint glow of purple around him, bringing with it the cold dread feeling of fear to those who weren't his direct opposite. He closed his eyes a few seconds then re opened them evenly.

" another mis understanding you seem to have. I'd be willing to fight you, if it was necissisary. so tell me, is it necissary now?. He took a few steps forwards staring more at her arm then her eyes but went back to them sharply. Unlike a gun where you can see the tendons of the hands tighten to pull the trigger, for this little projectile of hers you'd have to guage her mentaly. He could dodge it maybe, protect himself sure. But if she fired that at him then anything still attaching him to this school would be gone. Weather people were watching or not wasn't relavant. Unless of course they wanted a piece of him also.

He should have known that privacy was a moot point in the Mansion… With a resident psychic around, she had only minimal doubts that they didn’t already know of his presence. Narcissa was not merely preparing to light him up, but in style, and quite frankly, she didn’t trust him. Anyone who could switch lanes that easily, and stay on the other side had some serious issues. As he spoke her head tilted, and she frowned… “Either way, you’re still helping him… How far are you willing to go with all this? Your way or not; It’s still his way, and its wrong…”, she argued quietly, her voice having never rose above the quiet pitch she had begun speaking in.

As he stepped closer to her, her arm raised reflexively as she stepped back, aiming. Again, the fact that she couldn’t trust him swept through her, and her form tensed. His nightmares no longer bothered her, but that wasn’t all she had to be afraid of. “You’re the traitor Carlos, -you- came here… You tell me if an all out brawl is necessary. I don’t… I…”, she trailed off as she caught him watching her hands, eyes.

“I don’t know what to do. Everything I’ve seen in the past few hours tells me to let you have it…”, Narcissa glared balefully at him, before her eyes softened slightly. Everything that she had known about him before this event urged her otherwise. Exhausted and mentally drained, she lowered her hand, though the ball of light bobbed faintly, level with her heart. She didn’t need her hands to control something so small… She was obviously tired... "What do you want?"

Carlos could only smirk to himself and closed his eyes not really worried about being blasted at the moment. It was highly arrogant maybe for him to assume she wouldn't do it. But he stopped caring. He searched himself to give her and answer. He took another step forward that smirk of his ever so smug then stopped at the half step. "Semper Fi, Always Faithful. Lose faith in those you trust you lose all support. at the same time, those who you keep faith must also be fithful to you. You don't like my decision atleast be faithful I did it for good reasons that are my own. After school I would have joined the Marine corp. if I could previded anti mutant laws aren't being inspired. You act like Magneto is the only threat yet I've seen mutants like us lynched, discriminated, murdered... Maybe Magneto IS wrong, but normal people aren't so right either. Xavier bless the man is trying to do something not many understand but woul'd blindly fallow without thinking. To me this struggle is a war. And War's have their infantry, their tanks, snipers, sappers, and Spies..."

Carlos opened his eyes and they darted right into Narcissa through her being penetrating as if to see her fears. " I've started an X-men, change the uniform, you only have an X-men in enemies clothing. War is complicated and tactics are very dirty. I doubt the old man will tell me everything about his plans. " Carlos started walking back to the wall to dissapear into a shadow. He could see Logan and Morgan coming by their shaddows movement. Taking on people hand to hand was no real challenge unless the person was Wolverine who was ten times the Military jocky that he was. Still he stood there and looked back at Narcissa.

Kevin was standing back waiting throughout what was happening. He felt what Narcissa felt. He was angry at Carlos too for switching sides and then just coming back. But he knew violance was not the answer. He also heard what Carlso said and it knid of made sense. He decided to say something, "Let's just calm down. Carlos what you said makes sense, but that still doesn't mean everyone has to agree with what you're doing. And Narcissa, you have all the right in the world to be mad, heck I'm mad. But we don't need to fight him if we don't have to, even if he is a traitor."

Narcissa scowled at Carlos whole heartedly as her arms crossed over her chest, the glowing ball that seemed to be more her protection than her defense flickered brighter. She wasn’t sure what irritated her more. The fact that he stood there smirking like some self important git easily sparked her last nerve. Once again as he neared her, she back away. Even when he had been swathed in darkness and haunting shadows she hadn’t feared him; Hadn’t backed away from him. Things were different now. His hair was still the wrong color… Hadn’t Raze’s sacrifice removed the effects of the enhancer?

His excuse sounded… Hackneyed. Perhaps it was the truth, then again, perhaps it wasn’t. Maggy face wasn’t likely to trust him much until he proved himself… What had he done; Or what would he have to do to do so? So many questioned swirled angrily throughout her brain, her pale features growing lighter with each minute. The day was leaving. He could see her fears all he liked; She didn’t care. Narcissa had already come to terms with that which she feared most… Despite what Kevin said; Violence was becoming more and more appealing.

Magneto has never been the only threat… That’s why I’m here Carlos, you and I both know that. He’s just the mutant with the power to destroy everything that Xavier is trying to establish. Every time the police, the government get involved, he’s giving those people more reasons, incentives, to try and create more anti-mutant laws. Who knows what his real agenda is… Do you? So you’re spying… Yay team. But you are -still- in over your head.”, Narcissa spoke firmly as he backed into the shadows; still wondering weather she ought to believe him or not. It bothered her like nothing else… Not knowing who she could trust… The burning anger that she had felt towards him; betrayal, had yet to fade, and his words were of zero comfort to her.

Still as Carlos disappeared completely back into the shadow, and the feeling of being threatened lessened slightly, she dropped the ball of light with a faint sigh. Narcissa felt as if she was going to be physically ill. Weather it was from her transition from day into night, or from the whole situation, she wasn’t sure. Now ghostly pale she sat back down in the chair, her elbow on the table as her forehead met her hand… Wouldn’t this day ever end?
