Until the next fab artist comes along and you've already given your gold to the last one (;
That really sounds like a fantastic commission (: I've never commissioned an oil painting over the Internet before (too many options in every-day life for me to really have had need to do that yet) - I hope it goes well (:

Thanks Audley! biggrin It seems my inventory is a never ending source or gold. I'll have to throw and art conest to get rid of some old crap. ;> I'm so spoiled by joining when gaia started.
I have an artist wishlist and I guess when I've crossed everyone off it I'll have to take comissions again. Until then it's shop til you drop. xd
I hope the oil painting'll turn out good. :3 It's pretty small but it'll be awesome. I'm broke IRL so this will probobly be my only RL comission.
LittleDream, payapl did'nt work in poland as well?

I need more! I'll have a good little stash after my auction finishes, but much of that is going into my contest fund, so I'm going to have to open up commissions or something then so I can earn more.

i dont have much gold - well, i do, but i'd rather use it on friends who have a harder time raising it for their quests. i have always prefered cash commissions over gold because people usually go the extra mile when it's dealing with cash. plus i have a lot more cash around than gold and it's a lot easier for me to raise cash than gold considerring i'm not taking anymore gold commissions.

Me too - my gold prospects are not in danger of improving, so most of it goes to my terrible quest. Real life dosh, however, is not a problem, so the majority of my commissions are paid the traditional way. I haven't noticed any difference between the quality of work people I've commissioned for gold and money have produced, but I have noticed the time factor (only in their commission information where they've mentioned it - I haven't noticed a real time difference with my own commissions). "Real life" commissions tend to take precendence (spot the disparity - a high amount of gold is generally more time-consuming to earn than actual funds). ChemieChan I have an artist wishlist and I guess when I've crossed everyone off it I'll have to take comissions again. Until then it's shop til you drop. xd I have a list, too - it never goes down (; For every handful of people I cross off I find twice as many names to add to the list, including people I want to re-commission and names of artists who might not even be taking commissions. I suppose I live in a grandiose hope - there are about eighty names/links currently on the list (;

Tru.dat XD My RL usually have a max turnaround of a monthduring schooltime and how many other RL commissions I have ahead of yours. Gaia work... hojeez. No comment. XD; Lol. I don't realy have a list. I dunno, I find it annoying to, like, see someone's wishlist and not be on it (I know, ehehe. *sweat* egotistical, aren't I?), so I just commissions mainly artists I've followed for awhile... or if they're cheap and I'm goldrich at the moment, just buy on a whimXD.

I'm so glad I'm not the only mainly irl cash commissioner in this guild anymore XD I felt so alone during that monthly poll way back when. Cash is just a lot easier for me to get. Since I still get an allowance ($60-$100) and I'm going to start working as soon as graduation is over and done with and I can stop stressing about Shakespeare and Government (which is DEATH, by the way) . But on gaia, there really isn't much I can do since I don't draw and I'm too impatient to work the vend/exhange.
I've actually noticed a better turn around with my gaia commissions than the ones I order with real money! I guess I'm just unlucky sweatdrop The thing I like better about using cash is that, though it may sometimes take longer to get the completed work, the artist is less likely to drop off the face of the earth like a lot of Gaian artists have done. And they show you their progress sketches/lineart/etc.

I'm glad there is more than one of us around (; I've occasionally had people around here remark on the amount of money I spend on commissions - it isn't really that much in the scheme of my life existence (of course, the amount is relative to whoever hears it), I suppose, but it's just an odd conversation to have without sounding spoilt or frivolous (or both). WoefulInfinity Lol. If my list were public, you could see your name on it (; But you're not offering commissions now, are you? Alas (; I'll catch you when you open up again, hopefully.

 Lol, I always feel that, all this art stuff is frivilous... A reason why I rarely dole out real money (Just this month, I bought my second RL Commission, the first one only being for $5 from http://anarhak.deviantart.com.)
Aw, Thanks, Audley. redface xd I've found myself on two, three, lists total, most in the R/C are lists for anime type art. Lol, you probably will be able to catch me - I don't get that many commissions. June 15, remember. wink
(Btw, Flobbergommer courtesy of Opium Skittles, and approved by Phillis, lol)

I sort of squint and "hrm" and "welll ..." about it, hoping to pass it off as an interest in art and therefore worth everything and not at all pointless or silly (;
I take note of your commission information every time your update your dA journal, actually (: As for R/C wish lists ... a lot of the desired artists I've never heard of - username non-uniformity makes life hard for me (;

Heh heh, I'm about as un-anime as you can get, so I don't ever expect to ever be on people's wishlists. I think I've been on like...2 or something. Ah well! Less art stress for me! I think I always worry about that when I enter contests too. So many people here seem to prefer anime, so in the back of my mind, I think, "Do I even stand a chance?" I've been pretty fortunate, so far, though.
But yeah, I've never been a fan of those favoritism things. I mean, there are particular artists I'd love to get art from, but I'd never make it public! Yeah, this whole Gaia thing is silly, but fun. smile But those lists are all around DA too...
I've tried to allow myself to commission in RL at least once a year because I love being able to support fellow artists. I'd love to have lots of money to spend, but I just don't. I've commissioned Mel (Underground Uno), Emme, Woe (I'm still using my bookmarks!), and Ochrejelly, but there are several more I'd love to. And especially now that my income is gone, I can't really commission as much. If there's someone I really want, what I'll do is take a commission or two myself so I have the money in PayPal, so my husband can't say anything. It's more like a roundabout art trade or something. Someone pays me and then I pay whomever. But I think that's why I'm trying so hard to raise money here - because it's a free alternative for me. Granted, most of the artists I would love to commission aren't on Gaia, but there are many that I've been surprised to see are! Not that I'll ever have enough money to afford them in an auction or that I'll ever be lucky to catch a slot in an art shop, but it's nice thinking I might someday!

Alienarose But those lists are all around DA too... They are? The absolute gall - I'm amazed! Actually, considering art fanciers ... maybe I'm not (; Sooo ... who would you love to commission, then? (; I think this topic was really getting around to that particular subject, anyway (; I'm curious - most people around here seem to have commissioned everyone who's fab already, really (:
