You gotta be careful with coughing--I actually just got back from the doctor's for pain in the left side of my chest whenever I did anything... turns out I was coughing so hard I actually pulled a muscle. I got x-rays and everything, the doctor thought it might be pleurisy, but nope, just some torn muscles and a low-grade ear infection. stressed

I miss summer. You don't get sick as much in summer, there is not school, no finals, no bitchy teachers, no impossible calculus homework, and no waking up at 6 am to get to school before you should even be waking up. Half of my classes are college classes, but they go for 40 weeks and are way harder. They make us prove we are good enough when the kids in college don't have to. I passed English Composition I we got our portfolios back today. 3 people in my class failed and 6 got honors. At least I didn't fail; English was never my best subject. Our next "essay" is a comic strip I'm so excited for that. I wish I had a month off. One problem with having most of your friends in college is that they all have a month off of school and get annoyed at you because you are in school all day. I don't want to be there, but I think my English teacher would murder me if I missed another day. xp

You guys see the flooding here?

First one is mine, look at the author's comments to read more.

This one is from Channel 10 News. That's where I was, but it rose 4 feet higher than that in ten minutes.

Last one is just an extra little tidbit.

It has been snowing here constantly sense Friday. So many parties postponed. The roads are terrible too. We lost traction about a million times with four wheel drive and new tires stressed . The world looks so pure now with everything covered in white, but then there are always the plows who make the snow dirty with their salt. Humans raping the sanctity of nature as always rolleyes .

I don't think putting salt on the road is "Raping the sanctity of nature." I mean, you want to be able to drive, right?

Anyway, it's the fist official day of winter and about 76 degrees down here. Coldest it's been all week!

So I stayed the night at someone's house on Friday night and they told me to park in their spot, #34. So I did. Next day, they leave, then I get Micah ready and leave. Car is gone. Wallet was in my school bag, in my car. I go to the apartment complex's manager about it and they aren't there. Wait about ten minutes and the assistant manager shows up. She says I can call the towing company's 800 number and ask them if they've towed it. I ask her if she can check the records and she says only the manager (who isn't there) can.

So I call the 800 number and they say they don't have it. I call again. Still... They don't have it.

So I'm at Burger King with Micah. Who is wearing pajamas. He is hungry and wants a burger, but I can't buy him anything because my wallet is in my stolen car. My phone is about to die.

I call my parents and tell them what happened. I didn't know what to do. I felt helpless. Like a child who's lost their parent in a public place. I want to cry, but keep it together for Micah's sake.

My wallet (credit cards, checks, social security card, IDs), school books/papers/grades, massage table, stroller... IMPORTANT, EXPENSIVE things. Gone.

My parents show up and seeing my mom's face filled with sadness and pity almost send me over the wailing edge. She bought me some orange juice and breakfast for Micah.

My dad called the cops for me and reported a stolen vehicle.

"Oh. It was towed?" He said.

My face looked up at him as if looking at him would make me able to hear the voice on the other line.

He wrote down a phone number and an address and hung up.

It HAD been towed. I looked at the phone number. Same one that the apartment assistant manager gave me.

He called it and got the same girl on the phone that I did.

"Hello, I just got off the phone with the police and they tell me you DO have a 2003 Toyota Carolla impounded..."

She said that they do, in fact have it and it had been towed the night before around 6pm.

What a ******** lying b***h!

She said no one was there and I'd have to wait until Monday to get it. Yeah, and pay $96 per night that it's there!

We hung up with her and my dad told me that a lot of times these places go out and randomly tow people on Fridays, then give them the round about and tell them they can't pick it up until Monday so they have to pay the two fees.

So we called again and told her a toddler's medication was in the car and we need it ASAP. She agrees to meet us there and I had to pay $352! It was outrageous!

I told her that I could prove they had taken my car illegally and that I would take them to small claims to get it back. They hadn't even informed the apartment complex, which they are required by law to do.

She said I would be getting a refund.

And that's what my weekend was like. biggrin

Wow that's so annoying. I hate it when people do stupid things like that and then give you the round about.

Yea we got 14 inches too the storm never stopped. It went from about noon Friday to 5pm Sunday. This school week was pointless 2 hour delay yesterday and it is only a two day week. Why couldn't they just give us it off? On top of that my AP bio teacher gave us a test on material we never covered in class. Such a scrooge move.

But I got sweets and a party tonight so it should be a fun Christmas with my friends. The family one will probably be boring.

Oh that is horrible. Working on Christmas totally ruins it. My mom has to work today and Matt has to work both days. He was complaining about it yesterday at our Christmas party. That party was kinda weird. My friend was supposed to have hers last Friday, but it got postponed because of the snow to the day of the party I planned. So I pushed the starting time back so people could go to both.

Before the people who went to the other party got there, it was just me and three guys. It was surprisingly not soo awkward, but one of them didn't know the other two so he acted kinda weird.

Then once they got there. Somehow I ended up sitting with Cliff and Chelsey with Matt, even though I like Matt and Chelsey likes Cliff and I don't like Cliff. He just kept pulling me towards him until I gave up. It would completely suck if this ended up a love square. Made even more complicated by Chelsey being my best friend.

Anyways, Merry Christmas everyone!!
