Ahhh I failed the apparation test T___T I'm bored! No one has replied yet...-does dance- Yes. I am so out of topics that I will...talk about music! Yes! So, what types of music do you guys like? (bands, songs, etc.) For some reason I think we've been through this before...

The fact that no one replied might have something to do with the fact that no one was awake at 12 am. I went to bed an hour earlier.
You failed? Don't worry about it, it'lll probably take me three tries. sweatdrop
You liked the signs? I nearly laughed my guts up reading some of them. I'm glad someone else got to see them. XD
As for favorite artists/bands, I'm kinda weird because almost none of them are like the others. At all. I love Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Panic at the Disco, and I can't get Stacy's Mom out of my head.

Can someone tell me how the school system is in America? I mean, the years and which school you attend then? It's gotten me seriously confused... @.@
Someone explained it to me once, but I've forgotten it. o.o And is Collage the same as University? I feel stupid for asking, but it's very different here. Here you go on "barne skolen" which would be translated to "Children School" (1st - 7th grade) then "Ungdomskolen" which means "Youth School" (8th - 10th grade), then you proceed to "Vidregående" which would be "Furthergoing School" which lasts from 2 - 4 years. Some choose to take the last 2 years in practice. Then you go to University if you've taken that option.
I just want to know how it is in America. smile

Middle school is grade 6- 8. Highschool is grade 9-12. Than you have four years of college. Depending on what you are aspiring to be, you may or may not go to graduate school (roughly four years). Certain jobs require more schooling than others (lawyers, doctors, etc.) Does that make sense to you?

QUIDDITCH TRYOUTS INFO!
Okay. I've been cursed with an almost broken arm and a science competition that just ended and I haven't been online in two days! o.o GASP!
However, I am VERY pleased to announce that quidditch season is underway! Please, if you never tried out and want to, get your form in to me by 3PM gaia time today. You can still try out afterwards, but only tryouts before my deadline will be included in the PM to Madam Hooch entering them in the draw for the raffle. The team roster is going to be posted tomorrow.
Yes I know, the big tryout game that I wanted to do never happened. What I'm going to do is once I've listed my team and backups, we'll start having practices and since our first game isn't until April I will keep my eyes on the teams to make sure I made good choices.
Check the thread for more info.

Yay! XD Oh, I live on the west coast, so it was about 10 PM. And hey, lots of people stay up past midnight...XD Yeah, the school system is really confusing. Though it's not all the same in the US, either. In some districts it's 1-6 elementary, 7-9 middle, 10-12 high. Then college. Or university. In the US it's required to take all 12 years of school, which are payed by your taxes. (Unless you're uber smart and skip a bunch of years.) And college, or university, costs...a lot. XD Then college is really complicated too, with undergraduates, diplomas, and all the junk. Very headache-making material.
I like Avril too! ^ ^ Though she hasn't come out with any new songs for a while...

Tell me about it! The school system here is confusing...not to mention that public school is crap. The university is uber expensive...ugh, it gives me a headache on how much I have to pay. Music..I like all types of rock, country, some hip hop and I listen to mexican/spanish music and some j-pop/rock. So who's excited for the superbowl..I'm still ticked off about the chargers.

Really? I've been going to public school since 1st grade, and it's fine. But then I've been in a special program... Yeah, each year is about 30k USD. For good colleges, I mean. In-state is about 9k? I dunno. Depends on what classes you're taking... The moral is...to take as many college classes as you can when you're in high school, so your taxes pay for college! XD Each class is like $1000 o.o Pretty killer. I'm not really in to football...-hides- But then, I'm not really into sports at all. You just watch people chase around a ball. Or something to that extent. It's the same thing, every single game... Ooh I like Spanish music too! (Though I have to look at the lyrics to even begin to understand it XD) It sounds cool XD

*Blinks owlishly* Wow.. You guys got complicated schools. O: We're only required to take the first 10 years of school. But we're entitled to have four free years of additional school. So we don't have to pay for "Vidregående". Though we do have to pay for Universities. No idea about "Folkehøy skole". That means "High people School". Damn, we need new names for the schools.. It sounds... well. You hear how it sounds.
And you can take College classes in High School? *blinks* *Shakes head* You Americans has it quite complicated, don't you? We don't have to take extra credits and such things. Basically all we need to do is going to class. Heck, we don't even have to go to class once we start 11th grade...
As long as we do our homework, and knows what we're supposed to know. Though it's not exactly advised to skip. *laughs*

Kitsune you are so lucky!!! I guess we have it complicated here...I didn't really notice since well I've lived here all my life. You take college classes in high school through the advanced placement program, you have to take a test and if you pass you get in AP classes and you take an AP test at the end of the year- if you get a 3-5 it usually counts in most colleges. Turayza don't worry about the football thing...I personally only watch it because its a close family thing. You like spanish music? that is so awesome!

Lol. Lots of my friends watch football too. XD (I never get it. All of a sudden they start yelling and jumping up and down...o.o) Yep...sometimes I think the people in the government enjoy confusing us 'little kids' XD We have to go to all those years to school, but the quality of school isn't that great. And classes are only about 7 hours a day, which is less than in lots of other countries (who take both morning and night classes...etc)

I remember that from 1st - 4th grade, we had only 4 hours. Then in 5th to 7th we had three days with six hours, one day with four hours and then one day with five hours. Those were the best school days of my life..
Now from 8th - 10th we have only six hours. Every class lasts 45 minutes. We got school from 08:30 till 14:10. The people in 11th and up has at different times.. They can have a full day from the morning, till 15:30, or perhaps they go two hours earlier some days, and som etimes they have three hours free in the middle of the day.
I know that my friend in 12th grade has a very messed up schedular like that... I'm now in my 10th year, and hopefully I'll get into the "Studiespesialisering" line. That's translated roughly to "studyspecialing". That's the line I have to take if I want to proceed to a univerity or a college level. Most lines prepare you to send you straight to work. I think there's two other lines that prepare you for studies though.
So, how old are the rest of you? Sometimes it feels like I'm one of the younger ones here. *laughs*

And then University. smile
And yes, University is expensive - I'm 90K in debt from loans to be able to pay my school (and that wasn't the total price either - I had grants and scholarships
Also, I'm 23. So, I'm old. xd
AND - you all can vote for Rowena in the arena here. No obligations!
