They have to be equipped and if their gen 2+ then they'll take longer XDD You don't have to wear the items. The item generation itself changes, not because you are wearing it.

Culties...a tragedy has just occured...and, understandably, I'm not particularly happy about it at the moment.
My Microsoft Zune 30GB Mp3 player...has just crapped out on me, and by that, I mean it is not working anymore. scream
I don't know whether or not it was caused by a corrupted media file or something like that, but it has been acting strange ever since I "upgraded" the program to Zune 3.0. Maybe that was the cause, I don't really know for sure. I've tried putting it in it's recharger, it won't work still. I turned it off after it froze, but it will not turn back on, no matter what I try.
I haven't even had it for a year yet. I don't know what the warranty range is, but I really don't want to have to pay for shipping my Zune over to Microsoft to take a look at it, but I also don't want to spend $200 for another one. *sigh* Life can sometime kick you in the balls, know what I'm sayin'?
