That's why there is a poll, so we can take care of these sorts of disputes democratically. But if we're going to say Screw the poll and create a bunch of addendums and avisos, what was the point of the poll?

I agree. We need character limits to keep control and encourage recruitment.
I disagree on your method for people to have more characters, Slag.
I agree that 8 characters is too much, and 4 is too low.
I agree that rpers should be rewarded if they are active, contributing, and creative. Otherwise, there is nothing to look forward to.
I'm a prime example of that, I've been with this rp since it was in the previous thread and was only 4 pages long. I've stayed since, I've posted since, I've contributed in terms in characters and story ideas. And for my continuous contributions, Dark made me a crew member. And when it looked like this guild and rp would collapse, I emailed Barbara to help bring back life. And because of all I've done to keep this guild and DC rp afloat. Dark made me Vice Captain.
As Vice Captain I along with Barbara have a final say in these matters, not you Slag. You can agree to disagree all you want, but I will not tolerate being talked down or ignored when we are deciding this RP's future. You can either deal with it or find a new RP.

As for being fair, people would only be ALLOWED to have 6 characters MAX per RP. A good rule would be that crossover characters count towards that limit. So if you had 4 characters exclusive to one RP and 2 characters crossed, you could only have 4 characters exclusive to the other RP. 3 crossed means you could only have 3 exclusives per RP, and so on and so forth.
The initial 4 character limit would be imposed on new members so they don't get in over their heads, and hitting your max isn't necessary! So someone has six characters in one rp, but you only have 2 even though you're allowed 6-- that is YOUR choice! The other person shouldn't be punished because YOU choose to limit your participation in the RP! Taking the limit from 8 to 6 is completely reasonable and manageable, and everyone has the ability to keep a variety of characters in different situations.

As for the poll, 6 wasn't even an option for a maximum-- it was 3, 4, and 5! Don't get mad at me for ignoring a poll that didn't even have an option that you have tossed around in a few different posts.
Eric's updated the poll to reflect the suggested options. Why 8 is on there, I don't know. It's still too much for a single RP.

As do I, and I've already made several viable suggestions on how to deal with crossover characters. But ultimately, 6 characters per RP seems to be a completely reasonable limit, and I still stand by my opinion that untested and unproven RPers should be limited more than senior members until they have shown to be able to handle the responsibility of managing up to 6 characters per RP if they choose to do so.
Until they have passed the trial period, a limit of 4 per RP seems rational and fair, after which they can move up to having as many as 6 characters per RP.

Stray_Dog It'd work the other way too though. How would Ivy feel if even one of her students had dropped out of school to follow a life of villainy because of her example? Hmmm depends on who is was and their reasons. Me: *dances around shaking maracas* I only use one character!

I'm not sure how I did that, Slag, as you've adamantly disagreed with practically everything I've suggested so far multiple times now, especially my limit of 6 characters per RP.......

When i was explaining how crossover chars. Would count toward the char. Limit of both threads you had no clue. But when kitana says an exact copy of what i said, it suddenly makes sense to you.
