Eilynne would let him think the scales were still where he thought they were. Of course they weren't. She had ways to get things removed that would never bring any pain or cause any discomfort. The twin beauties were in one piece, hidden far too well for any creature to find them except the one who hid them. "No, I do, which is why you will assist me whether you wish to or not. I know the legend dragon and I know the truth. Now then," Waving her hands to indicate the vastness of the land before them. "Take one of Hunter's maps and search out each and every location marked on them. Bring me what pieces you find that look like this." Showing her a sliver of the gift. "Don't return unless you have one."

Shyrae nodded, "Well that's good to know." Did she feel better? Negative. But it was a pretty good try. She glanced at Kaznec for a moment and then shook her head. "I really don't think it's a good idea to stay on deck so I think I'm just going to head below. You probably want to stay with Kaznec which I understand." Thus giving her a nod, she headed off, not to her room just to a cargo hold.

"Port it is. Skullbreak island is just ahead." He gave her an hour to do her captain thing and then whisked her off employing those said plans. One of which was to get her arm healed by the elf, even though he practically had to carry her over to the Chimera and then almost sit on her while it was done. He wasn't going to let her go around like that anymore. Getting back to her own ship, he locked the two of them in the cabin and prepared himself for a temper tantrum.

A clouded wide eyed look was turned to her fathers’ general direction that soon narrowed into a very Piper-esque look of ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’. “Daddy…that’s just gross.” Wrinkling her nose in displeasure at the thought…she may act all tough and what not, but she was still a girl…it just wasn’t an appealing thing to think about or think about doing. She certinaly was not a snake either…she’d survive till she got some water. Not that she was too dirty to begin with because she just never got into the action enough to get thus. Unless there was bloodshed involved and she was nearby because she was probably the one doing it.

Setting her hands to her hips, she turned her body so that she was facing Malik’s general direction, or at least what she thought and felt was his general direction. He was obviously either reading off their bond, or using his sword. Maybe a combination of both. But it was nice to be informed. “Another dragon, and another woman…just what we need around here. Someone else for Deacon to annoy.” Speaking of said captain, one of those ‘I’m thinking of something devious to do to him’ looks crossed her features.

She shook her head, trying to shake off that icky feeling of seeing such a thing. Why would someone want to eat a human? She knew meat...and they looked like they would be stringy. That was icky as well. But a not to Shyrae as she left and she turned a look over to what had been happening on deck, looking the dragoness up and down a moment. Wait...now she knew why something was off about her. A breif look down at her own tail, flicking the tip back and forth before shaking her head as if to clear it. A look over at Kaz...well he seemed preoccupied with Raynes though. Looked like she was on her own. Thusly to the crow's nest with her, plopping on it's floor and back against the mast that ran through it, picking up her current invention in progress and her tools, starting to tinker again...what made it so dragonesses didn't have blades? Or was she just overthinking?

"Alright then, give the news to Hunter that we'll be heading there." Though boy did she put up a fight over magic induced healing...and she could be a violent tipsy almost drunk woman when she wanted to be...caused quite the ruckus, punched out two crewmen one of which wasn't hers and then proceeded to give Thobias the childish silent treatment. She wasn't opening her mouth till she got to port.

"Great. I go from harem girl to slave labor. wonderful."

crossing her arms and looking at the shard.

"So...get one of his maps, and look in places for little pieces of rainbow tinted looking glass. Now before I go running off to do your bidding...you tell me what's going to be trying to kill me in the process. I'm not so foolish to think you brought all these people out here looking for this stuff if it was something you could just find and take and leave with."

Mister Richards left the Captain's cabin, key in hand...before he heard the little lady's decree on the dragoness. well...guess they won't be needing that room unlocked after all. Though he did give a glance at the Captain's cabin..and raised a finger.

"Suggestion...I believe our other dragoness on board has copies of Hunter's maps. might I suggest she use those before we put those two in close quarters again for any length of time?"

"I'm just saying it works. Your mother wasn't fond of it either. she used to slap me when I'd do it during her 'camping' trips. And before you ask, I'm not using Malvolence. I'm doing the smae thing you were, just a bit more experience. If you just focus on teh life force, then it's not much good other than location. once you pinpoint it...you dig a little to feel emotions, and learn things like gender..race...sometimes even a name. the life essence of a being holds all this information. you coudl try it on Shyrae if you want to practice I'm sure she won't mind."

Bell peeked over the edge of the crows nest, idly watching what was going on down below as she knew they were talking about her. You think they'd know her name by now. Inconsiderate pirates. Sighing she grabbed a map out of her pack and dropped herself down to the deck, using wings in parachute like fashion, giving a little stumble as she landed before in rather cautious fashon, walking over to the first mate and the other dragoness. "Here, I don't care to hear the yelling. Everything marked in red is marks I took from his and Captain Neerem's, and all the other marks are just mine. And you'd be surprised at how easy it is to get these things...they really are just kind of laying around." Fiddling with one of her horns lightly and turning a look to the first mate who of course was in charge when Hunter was being pissy. "Good?"

And hands slapped over dark blue tipped ears. "Too much daddy, too much." Did not need to hear about her father doing such a thing because personally it was gross and creepy and well...yeah she shared her mother's opinion on the subject. Forbid he be dirty...well she was like that too. Malikhai and Dhairaiss seemed to care less unless they had someone to impress or someplace to be, but not her...she liked her clean. Pinning him with another familiar look, she dropped her hands and walked over...half tripping on an uneven board which got a glare that would of burst it into flames if looks could kill.

Always curious to hear these little things...after all, she was nowhere near her father's level of learning and she was still constantly learning. She just wasn't doing her studies at home much. "She doesn't like me experimenting on her, freaks her out. Probably scared I'm going to turn her undead or something. Not that I blame her. I do know someone I would indeed like to play with though." She wasn't letting it go was she? No not at all. Stupid human. "Admitedly I've nothing more than galavanting lately..." She hated beign idle...when she wad idle she didn't know what was happening around her unless she was sight jacking someone.

((Steph told me not to wait. Gotta infer things for yourself))

Two mornings later in early morning light, both ships sat in port at the atoll, side by side with sails furled and the winds idly whipping respective flags around. She just hoped that another wasn't going to join them. After all, she knew this port was a favorite of Captain Fang...someone she didn't have the energy to tangle with right now. One could find Gem at a table of a local bartering streets, striking deals for supplies in bulk...as well anything else that passed her fancy. Though her ship and her crew came first before her fun.

Ah how wonderful it was to be clean again...first thing she had done when she hit port was look for someplace decent, and found it in a local bathhouse...which was more like an enclosed heated spring over anything else. Worked. Point was she was clean now. Unlike others whom took to shore, she stayed on the ship. Having donned her robe and pulled the hood up, Savvy had conquered herself a spot on the deck, a sheet of leather laid out before her where her various blades and other nifty thigns she attached to her chains were secured. One by one, she was taking things out and cleaning them up and sharpening, not even looking as she did so...because what good would be her eyes? If a blade drew her blood, it was sharp enough. Simple. At the present time, she was sharpening blood red serrated blades...pity she didn't have anything to try them out on. Well...not true, she could pick a fight if she wanted.

Bell was on her way back to the ship, her own bag of bartered junk in hand. After all, if she thought she could make something out of it then she was going to get it and see what happened. As was the case this time as well. It was a quick stop at the crow's nest to stash her things and then a sideglance to Savryn as she had passed...before splaing wings and leaping off the ship, taking to the air and heading out across the sands. Wanted to see if there was any truth to what she had overheard from those inhabiting the atoll.

Today, he visited the atoll as well...keeping a close eyes on those that had come as well from ships set out on a mission that most were ignorant of. The massive black scaled dragon-folk watched it all with gold eyes that despite the warmth thye may imitate, were nowhere near such a thing. It was interesting indeed....new crew members of sorts. A dragoness, and a blue elf...his attention turned down to the bump at his side, seeing a certain pirate he had struck a deal with days ago. "You look like you took a beating."

"She wasn't happy thay I took her longboat to see you. Captain assumed I was part timing for someone else, and I let her think so. But I did what you asked."

"That's a good human. Rest assured that I at least won't be getting my protien from you. Now get back to that ship and continue to be useful beore I change my mind." Stepping out from the alley way and walking towards the docks on digitigrade dragon's feet, steps falling heavy and not caring whom his tail or its blades hit behind him as it swayed...should learn to give him room. But he had ships to scope out.

They were well protected ships, the hulls strong and both appropriately armed. Not something you would want to try to take on their level, especially together. He paused mid step, talons falling heavy on the wood of the pier at the feeling of a blade to his side. He didn’t worry too much though, his sides were scaled even in this form. Though perhaps the heat of the blade did make him notice. Magic. Cold gold eyes slide over to glance at the robed elf.

“Bit dangerous to be skulking around ships that are not yours is it not?” Head tilted down to hide her face, but her dagger was at the ready at his side, laced with magic that whipped on the blade in dark purple almost black energy. No, she wasn’t defending the ship…she was defending herself. She wasn’t going to have someone do something to the stupid sand crossing thing she had to be stuck on.

“Bit dangerous for little elves to be confronting others much bigger than them, is it not?” He chuckled, whipping his tail near her boots, letting it coil loosely around her ankle the hard blades threatening to slice her tendons through the leather of her boots with a simple sweep or quick tightening. “And do not think your magic frightens me…I was a master at the art long before your parents were even born.”

“Is that a threat? I do believe it is…you seem to be in less of a position to threaten than me…and do believe me that you have not met my brand of magics in a long while, old dragon.” She couldn’t see him, but she could feel him. Ever since her father had mentioned it, she’d been training nonstop for two days. She could sense a bit more now…and it didn’t take too much of a brain to guess with the tail around her ankle. “Let’s keep this short and simple…you get a move on and I’ll forget I ever saw you.” Irrelevant that she hadn’t even really seen him, only sensed him skulking.

He chuckled at her and tightened his tail somewhat around her ankles, sharp points pricking into the leather of her boots. “Bold to be making such threats yourself…I could simply kill you and eat you. Haven’t had elf in the diet in the while.” Reaching down, he grabbed her by the front of her robe and picked her up to his eye level, ignoring the second blade that was held poised before his left eye. “Not that you’d fill me much, you slender little elves are merely appetizers.”

”You would get a case of indigestion of which the likes you have never ever experienced. Even scales can rot…would you like to test my words.” Her other blade now having been moved from his side resting on his scaled forearm, the energy on the blade chaging to a sickly green color that seemed ominous in and of itself.
A clawed dragon paw reached around to her back, gripping onto her in threatening manner, tips pinching through fabric and down into her skin in show that it would be no effort to rip her apart where she was without too much effort and probably faster than her magics could affect him too badly. “Who do you think is faster? Now that’s a theory I would kill to test.” Following with a chuckle as he watched her incline her head as if she was narrowing her eyes at him, even though he couldn’t see her eyes. "Very well then." He didn't have time for this, he had plans to keep.

Things concluded, she left it all in the hands of her men to lug cart back to the ship and what not. They were strapping young lads, could easily handle such things. Thusly she merrily made her way back down to the docks, whistling as she went along with a strut of sort in her steps. A curious raise of an eyebrow though at the two figures whom were occupying the peer that both ships were using at the time. Curious...wasn't that one of hunters little tag-alongs? Looked like she had some trouble. Maybe she should help...hm...

She skimmed low over the sand, watching it rush by underneath her like liquid gold, completely smooth. But she knew what she was looking for, or at least she knew what she was looking for...it couldn't be too hard, then again it could be what with the sand shiting. A slight glint caught her eye and she tipped a wing to make a turn, coming to land lightly on the sand that instantly shifted under her feet as if it was overtop something and not just piled on itself. Kneeling down she pressed a hand to the sand, blinking when her hand didn't sink. Smiling with perhaps victory, she started to dig and displace sand from in front of herself.

And a bloodred hand was laid on old blackscale's shoulder...as Malik simply..came into being...taking off a necklace and putting it in his pocket. his voice was soft, and his free hand rested on Malvolence.

"that's my daughter, old dragon. I'm sure you won't be surpised that I do take a slight bit of offense to threats to her well-being and such."

looking over at his daughter.

"I found you a nice shiny thing for that little plan of yours. very pretty poison ring..you know, the secret compartment thing."

Hunter stayed on his ship while his men resupplied the Chimera and handled repairs. He had a lot on his mind. Desdemona was free of her 'cell' and now working for that little devil. what would be her intentions once that task was done? his thoughts about Gem too. if desdemona turned enemy...would she lash out at the Captain of the Gale Claw? that might but him on her s**t list too.

And of course...constant look out for the Serpent. He and Captain Fang really didn't like each other. this place would turn into a warzone if they crossed paths here.

Desdemona landed by Jae, and crossed her arms, standing over her. she'd been searching two days, and not a damned clue. not that she'd really been looking too hard. mostly looking into what these things were, why the star child wanted them, and why Hunter would be involved.

"So your the one that he thinks might be mine. I see the resemblance...but you are a bit old to belong to me, I think. How old are you, anyway?"

If tension was a feasible thing, one would of been able to bottle and sell what was going one between the dragon and the elf he dwarfed. She was fairly raidiating and aura of magic that was quite threatening and one could see the muscles flex under his skin, both seeing who would be first to crack. Though his claws tightening on her as his spine arched involuntarily and a growl came from his throat in pain, dropping her quickly and throwing out wings to keep himself from hitting the pier. A snarl and a look over his shoulder as his body convulsed a few moments in pain before he composed himself and turned a look to the elf that was behind him. "Mm, seems she's all bark and no bite then if you have to come save her. You might want to put a leash on her...attacking the general public is frowned upon in these parts." Watching the two...hm, he'd never seen an elf like that before.

Savryn gave a noise as she felt glaws against her skin tighten and then she was duly dropped to the deck into a pile of herself as the other seemed none to concerened with her...and went so far as to mock her. Getting up hands gripped at blades and she was tempted to jump on him and cut him open. But her attention turned to her father and stalled her movements a moment though with a growl. Stifling down her anger she walked over to stand next to her father, not quite pleased whether he had saved her or not. "Playing in my head again, are you daddy?"

"Well well...seems you three are getting to all know each other quite nicely. If you all would be so kind, would you please get away from my ship? I don't want you all to you know...start killing each other or doing such things so as to cause it damage. But the Chimera over there...well go on and have your fun." Turning a look up to her own ships. "Remember Mister Riles, keep your eyes peeled for those colors!" A look back down to the group before her. Awfully brazen for a human, no. "Well?"

She jumped with a yelp, somewhat flailing a moment before falling forward in the sand and onto hard glass that she had been unconvering from the sand. Obsidian glass to be exactly. Flipping over onto her back, her wings a bit haphazard about her person she blinked a few times at the dragoness who was with her now. Bell blinked stupidly at her words, trying to comprehend them but obvioulsy not doing so too much, whethere she just didn't want to or wasn't thinking in the right plane of thought. A bladeless tail curled around herself, white scales catching a bit of sand. "Um, I'm roughtly four hundred and seventy two...or at least that's what I'm told." Needless to say she was a bit intimidated. Anyone ever hear that females could be more brutal than the males of thier particular species? She was desperately trying to keep her eyes from wandering the other one too much.

"Oh she has plenty of bite, friend. but she's a bit...heavy handed. and while a scuffle or some minor injuries might be gotten away with...evicerated dragon internal organs and such spilled on the docks would be bad. I mean after all, she has a friend to fix her injuries...I doubt you have the same, and I'd prefer not to have my daughter get a price on her head for murder."

looking over at his daughter.

"no, not playing in your head. I know what you were doing with those blades. it would have been messy and probably a lot more trouble than it's worth. I know you want to cause the Chimera's captain some grief...but I'd prefer not to have a draconic blood feud started for it."

then a glance at the other one...Gem was it?

"Captain Nereem. I don't there will be any killing. and I'd not get it on any ship. blood as such is a valuable asset to myself, and my daughter's profession."

Desdemona leaned over, grabbed her arm and hoisted her up.

"Oh for the sake of the sands I'm not going to hurt you."

Hefting up the volcanic glass, and setting it aside some. rather nice size piece at that.

"and what do you mean, what you were told? don't you know?"

A frown.

PostPosted: Tue Jul 17, 2007 6:03 pm

"She would of been lucky to scratch my scales. Though you I see...actually have some power in you. It takes quite the touch to even being to fell a dragon...though I do say we are a tad more vulnerable in this form. But there is no price of murder this far out from Ilindal...ther Guardians reach barely extends out here. Law of the sands, as a pirate will inform you." Before stepping over to Gem, and leaning down to be mostly eye level with her before taking in a breath through his nose and then exhaling a puff of smoke in her face. "Isn't that right, pirate?" Striaghtening back up to full height before giving a once over look to both ships. "They are lovely craft though aren't they?" Make casual conversation, see what he could get out of them all...sometimes you just had to do the job yourself.

Waving a hand in front of her face to clear the smoke away from her even as she gave a few coughs. "Yes, law of the sands." Turning a look to the older elf in the mix. "Aw, is he causing Hunt trouble now? How sweet of her, she's around to annoy him when I can't be. Good show. Mmm...indeed. Necromancers the both of you as I've been told. Quite the art to have out here...many a cutthroats dream to have someone do thier dirty work. And bravo to the little elf for doing it without her eyes." Blinking at the next thing she knew she had a chain wrapped around her neck and the blade attached to that chain by her cheek threatening to cut into her flesh.

One would of course find Savryn on the other end of that chain and blade, none too happy seeming. "Watch your mouth, pirate. And what I do is in no form to help you get your own revenge or your laughs against that b*****d. What I do is for my own honor and no one else's." Holding like that a moment before loweing the blade and giving the chain wound around her forearm bracer a jostle to loosen and let go of the pirate before a slight look up to her father so he could actually see her face under her hood. "Messy yes, but it would of been effective none the less. Tell Captain Deacon to keep better eyes around his ship and I wouldn't have to tangle with those around it." She was awfully cold today, wasn't she?

"I never said you were going to hurt me." Letting herself get picked up, going about brushing some sand off of her person and folding her wings back neatly to a comfortable resting positon, tail tip idly flicking in the sand where she stood. No she wasn't afraid of her...just a bit put off. After all, you simply didn't eat people normally. It had been disturbing. "Well, I know. I just don't know how long I had been in my egg when I was found. Was told I hatched before they thought I should." Shrugging lightly at that. "It happens." Curiously giving the other dragoness a once over but keeping her questions to herself for the time being still.

"I've seen finer ships. but they are from a place with water."

though a slight chuckle at his daughter's antics.

"Don't worry Captain Nereem. she'll be more than he wants to handle."

though a warning look to Savryn that she'd feel if nothing else. then back to the dragon.

"Power is measured by different means. many of your kind base power on physicality. such things are nothing to a necromancer. even your vaunted strength can be made no greater than a sickly kitten. but that is my power measuring stick. what my arcane abilities can do even to your kind."

though a glance between dragon and ship.

"Ever sailed, dragon? or is that why your interested in studying the ships, looking to see what designs are used for your own?"

Desdemona smiled a bit.

"you're eyes said you were wondering if I would. I've been forced to do many things our kind don't take kindly to while Hunter had me in his gilded cage. But we do share a common trait, don't we. which is why he thought you might have been mine. it's easier to balance and walk if you mimic the human..what do they call it...sashay? using your hips to counter your horn weight, and your tail like a rudder...what you might do if you were swimming. not only does it help with balance..but apparently males like it."

picking up the obsidian.

"What were you going to do with this? beat someone over the head with it?"

Hunter walked out of his cabin, noting men coming back, and some working to clean and repair any minor damages or simple wear and tear. and he also noticed the foursome gathered by the ships.

"Gem! how are you doing on your end? We're getting ready I think to wrap up here soon..and neither of us want to run into the Serpent anytime soon I imagine."
PostPosted: Wed Jul 18, 2007 11:01 am

"Lovely craft indeed...don't touch mine. Oh and those that come up the gangplank may touch my decks by invite only, remember that." None too phased by Savryn's show of bravado before she turned her attention over to Hunter, looking up at him. She didn't yell back...because she didn't yell unless she needed to. Giving a nod to the others in her company, she took to the gangplank of the Chimera, making her way up to Hunter on his ship. "We're stocking now, cleaning, and making sure any repairs we've had to make are patched sufficently and the like. But you're right...I don't care to see Fang today. That man is insufferable. Worse than you I think." Shaking her head lightly. "Though it seems you're used to that kind of trouble. A lot of unrest going on on your decks, Hunter."

"You'll find little water here...what was here, is all dried up. Mostly from the storms and then the ground greedily trying to sustain itself before it turned to sand. A ship has to be able to survive the sands here...these are by far some of the more elegant ones. Though no, I've never sailed...I've no use for the hand made wings of man to travel across the world. Have my own. My interest in ships...is just an interest. The human hand can craft something worthy from time to time. And while a dragon has no need for ship, we are curious by nature and do appreciate such things. Thus the asking."

Feel that look indeed, though probably more through the bond that they had to one another as opposed to being able to see anything. Wasn't her fault that she wasn't in the most pleasant company that did and said things that were better left alone. Why did her father always have to start conversations with people who caused issues but minutes before? Then again it was no surprise. That's it, she wasn't going back on that ship. But for the moment she behaved herself.

"But when one gains freedom from their prision, they need not continue the actions that they had done before." A few little Guardian morals sitting there in teh back of her head, but she was part of it, had a uniform and everything so it was bound to pop up from time to time. Blinking and listening when a little tip was emparted. "I've tried that, it doesn't work too well for mer...I kind of just get tangled up in my tail or bump into things." Looking at the sand at that one. "Your egg roll around unhealthy too when you were in it?" Had to be some kind of explaination...how com she couldn't grasp this balance business? It wasn't fair. But amber eyes were drawn to the obsidian. "Um no, I invent things...and well, obsidian has several rather good uses. Not to mention that obsidian usually means there's something more under the ground."

Hunter nodded lightly.

"Too much unrest. between that insufferable blind elf, those star eyed devils, and the dragon-kin this ship is becoming a damned zoo and on top of that an unruly one. At least the blue elf leaves me alone. I don't bother him, he doesn't bother me, and that's the way I prefer it."

though taking a look at Gem's arm, gently lifting it up for a bit closer look.

"That is looking very well. see a little magic is worth the occasional pain in the a**. We're doing some cleaning and repair, almost fully stocked. though I'm sure that other elf will bring a hundred pounds of spices and lord knows what other elvish food things."

Desdemona listened and shrugged.

"No. but that might explain your lack of balance. I don't think your blade are no much non-existant, as they might be somewhere under your flesh..like ingrown or inbedded. have you tried anything to see if there's something like that going on?"

though a slight narrowing of eyes at the other comment.

"He got what he deserved. this whole situation and ruining of what me and Hunter had was his doing. I can't think of a better way to destroy a human than to let him see himself getting eaten."

then a bit of interest.

"Invent things? like what?"

Gem rolled her eyes as he held to her arm, giving a look over it. At least he was considerite about it...was still sore. Magic merely healed wounds, it didn't take away pain. At least not all of it. "He sat on me to get that done, I didn't talk to him for two days. I could of toughed it out. Remember when my shoulder was dislocated for three days because it kept becoming so despite everytime that you would pop it back in? I can handle pain." Giving a little chuckle to that.

"As for the little blind elf..." Turning a look over the side of the ship to said elves, "...she doesn't seem to overstep what her apparent father seems to tell her. Perhaps you're attacking your person from the wrong angle. Or, you can go about your usual style and merely torture you back. By the way, I would be wearing of any rings that come from her way. Little tidbit." Sighing lightly and tucking her hair behind her ear. "As for the starry ones you better just play nice. Though aside from the red-haired dragon, the other two haven't seemed to cause you too much problems. The other little elf...well I like her, and it's nice to add flavor to food. Oh Hunter...you do have your moments where you're just so pouty like a child it's cute."

"Oh." Okay, so maybe that wasn't the case...or was, she didn't know anymore. She just knew that her egg had done some things that it shouldn't of done, and she looked rather different. Always seemed like a good explaination, maybe it still was. But a little shrug. "My tail's soft under the scales right to the tip, I don't think so...is that what happened to yours?" This was an interesting conversation to be having with a dragoness of which she didn't even know the name of.

Inclining her head some at the tone the other took though with her. "Sometimes you can't blame one singular person for anything. And I just never thought that a dragon who seems civilized would do something so Wild. It only makes you into one of those fairy book dragons." Shaking her head lightly and then looking up again as that interest tone took to the other dragonesses voice. "Well...little things that the humans mostly appreciate." Taking to her satchel a moment, and rifling around in it for a moment before pulling out twi spyglasses that were fused together in the middle with another piece of metal, and little god wheel on each side. "Like this...instead of having to only use one eye to look through a spyglass, one can now use both and have a better look, and adjust them at the same time. I finished this one last night. Works pretty well."

Hunter rolled his eyes lightly.

"At least I'm cute to you. to everyone else I'm just a pain in the a** or something that needs to be gotten rid of or avoided. preferably in that order. And I know you can handle pain, Gem. but pain and being unable to put for than a fraction of weight on your arm is different."

a shrug.

"Kanzec is watching me like a hawk watches a mouse. I swear he's waiting for something to happen so he can get me called off this little endeavor. the other one is clumsy. I fear if I ever have to use my cannons. with my current luck she'll loosen all the cannonballs all over the lower decks by tripping over them."

Malik knew he wasn't letting everything show. there was more reason that just curious nature here. So he took to ingraining the dragon's image into his mind, memorizing it down to the smallest detail.

"Well...though I doubt either Captain would give you leave to explore thier ships to your curious heart's desire...I believe they are almost done with thier duties here and we'll be off again. though I don't think I caught your name, If you'd like me to see what I can do to sate your curiousity."

though a glance to his daughter. he didn't trust any dragon-kin fully, and rested his hand on Malvolence.

You wrote you were attacked by strange dragons...and now we have a dragon seeming quite interested in these ships. memorize his voice, and anything you can sense out. it may be this one is either the orchestrator or another instrument in the hands of whatever or whomever was after you.

Desdemona shrugged.

"Pirates know little of civilized ways. their ways are the ways of wild dragons and the Laws of the Sands."

though she took a bit of interest in the device.

"A dual spyglass. that is a neat little device. do you seel these things? or give them away to friends?"

before beck to herself, flicking her tail around.

"Not really. I had one blade that grew ingrown..but it was for my tailtip. now I just have a hard tail at the end..little tough to bend..like it's always stiff. but it'll sting a bit and leave marks if I use it for that."

settling down in the sand by the younger dragoness.

"Tell me something. when he got to where I was...did you notice anything? did he have any...emotions about it? About seeing me that you noticed? something he might not have shown me, because he wanted me not to think he cared? Anything at all?"
