On Christmas Morning, you think you hear a scratching at the front of Bobby's door. When you do go to check, you find tethered to your door handle a happy, squirming Australian Shepherd dog. It looks young, but definitely not a puppy, and has not been fixed. It is wearing a collar and an ear tag. On the collar is a metal tag engraved with the name Cupid. In the clip holder besides your door, there is a manila envelope with a photocopied page inside: Lineart by Birvan, coloring by Kamiki

The particular date had been forgotten, but the canine smell and whining that wafted through the door caused her to cautiously inspect the peep hole critically. A few more sniffs and considerations later and the door was opened, firstly just a crack, and then more fully.
Immediately hit full in the face with smell of dog, Antony scowled down beadily at the smell's source. It simply stared back, tongue lolling out of the side of its muzzle, clearly pleased that he was finally going to be let inside.
They stared at each other for several long minutes before she kneeled down and inspected both the tag then the collar. "Gerrof," she grunted as the dog tried to lick her face, shoving the dog as nicely as possible off of her and back onto the ground before swiping the folder off of the clip.
Moments and much dog shoving later, her face screwed up in a sort of snarl, rodent teeth grinding testily down on her bottom teeth. "Cupid... Real ******** cute..." Trailing off, she finally allowed the dog inside, shutting the duplex and tossing the papers onto the nearest surface with an indignant huff.
Cupid simply looked up at her cheerfully, a placid look of a child across its features. "You," she said, pointing down at the dog, "Are to be renamed ********, okay?" The squirrel woman raised her eyebrows in surprise when the canine barked in reply, grinning stupidly up at her.
Mumbling and rolling her eyes, she crossed her arms over her chest and peered down her own muzzle at the ball of fur for a bit, obviously stewing over something internally. "Don't ruin any of my belongings, or I'll turn you into food for that rabid wolf woman Anne." A significant look was given to the dog before she waved it off towards the couch, where it bounded to and quickly situated itself for a nap on one of its cushions.
Only when she turned into her room to take a shower did she notice the marked up calendar, and it stopped her dead in her tracks. Had she been carrying anything, they would have probably been dropped.
With her breath caught in her throat and unwilling to move, Antony stumbled her way to the bathroom, ricocheting off of several walls before throwing herself in front of the toilet and retching up her breakfast. She kept herself draped over the porcelain until she was certain her stomach was empty, and even then, her face remained hidden in her arms and tails.
A hairless hand eventually fumbled upwards to flush the toilet, the stench of stomach acid too much for her inhuman nose to handle at that point. Even her legs were curled up haphazardly under her in what would be fairly uncomfortable for a human, but seemed to cause the squirrel woman no real pain.
Her demeanor remained docile and defeated for a while until she pushed herself to an unsteady stand, and by that time it was very clear that positively volatile didn't even come close to describing her at that moment. Her eyes burned with an unbridled hatred, her chest heaving as she looked up into a particular corner of the ceiling.
One year tomorrow.
And with one sharp, ragged intake of air Antony broke her gaze and marched with a rigid calm through the main room and outside the front door, picking up a baseball bat sized stick on the way.
The door barely had so much as a scratch on it when she returned inside, but ******** had most definitely took to hiding behind the couch during her grand spell. She said nothing to consol the animal when she returned, simply tossing the cracked and splintered tree limb into the corner on her way to shower, which turned happened with the same 'all business' attitude.
Once her fur had dried satisfactorily, Antony sat down on the couch and rummaged about for her stationary. After all, it was Christmas there were cards to write and gifts to give...

Quote: Amaya had made her trip to the cafeteria and then back again. After feeding Donner and then eating half a salad before not being hungry anymore, she looked around her room.
She guessed the dog was from the labs, so maybe she should thank those who got her gifts.
With a sigh she stood up and walked over to the intercom, pulling up a chair before pressing the number to Antony's duplex. Quote: Antony was alone in her duplex once again, tidying up various wood shavings and what ever else was laying around. At the sound of her phone ringing, she made her way over to the intercom and pressed the button before lighting a cigarette. She took a drag and leaned her back against the wall next to the intercom, "Hello?" Quote: "Hi Antony. It's Amaya." The girl said, her voice the same whisper it always was. She sounded tired and defeated. Even as she sat in front of the intercom her head and shoulders were slumped like she didn't have the energy to raise them. Quote: "Oh hey! ...Are you okay?" She pulled from her cig thoughtfully at the emotions she caught in the lizard's voice. Maybe she didn't like the gift? Quote: There was a long pause. What was the point in lying? She obviously couldn't fake it, nor did she have the energy to back herself up. "No. Not really." She sighed. Quote: "What's wrong," Antony asked, glancing sideways at the intercom as if a hard look would bring an answer more swiftly. "I hope it wasn't my gift..." Quote: "No, no. I actually called to thank you for it. It's really pretty." Amaya tried to reassure, though it was hard to sound positive when you didn't have much to be happy about.
"Just... something happened and... I dunno." She said, too embarassed to say any more. Quote: A sigh of relief was heard from her end of the conversation, but it was short lived as Amaya continued to sound beaten. "Do you want me to come over?" She murmured quietly, rolling her smoke between her thumb and index finger. Quote: There was another pause from the other line she talked into. She was scared and alone, the thought of having 15 eggs all born dead without ever having sex. The thought of being so animalistic that she would have an EGG instead of a child. The thought that her only wish, to have a family of her own, would only happen if the child was subjected to such a horrible life.
A sniffle came from the speaker. "Yes..." She whimpered as she began crying once more. Quote: "I'll be over in a second," the squirrel woman commented abruptly before the line went dead. After gathering a few things in her bag, Antony made her way to Amaya's duplex as quickly as possible, knocking on her door once arrived. "It's me," she murmured, snuffing the cigarette out on the doorframe. Quote: Amaya sniffed again and then stood up to put the chair away, sitting on her bed and petting the sleeping Donner absently until the woman knocked. The dogs ear twitched and he barked, jumping off the bed to run over to the door with his tail wagging.
She got up and opened the door, clawed fingers looping into Donner's blue collar to pull him back. "Hi." She said again, stepping aside and pulling her dog with her so Antony could come in. Quote: Antony immediately stepped past the dog and pulled the iguana girl into a hug, frowning deeply but remaining quiet for a while. "What's bothering you?" She finally asked, reaching behind her to shut the door so that the dog would not get ******** had been left at home for the time being since he had been sleeping. Quote: Amaya sniffled and hugged her back, letting Donner go. The australian shepard stopped barking and then set to sniffing around the woman's legs and tails.
"Everything." She sobbed, burying her her scaley snout into Antony's chest. Quote: "Everything? I see you got a dog too, is that bad?" Antony rested her chin atop Amaya's head as she continued to hold the younger woman to her. "Let's sit down, and you can tell me about everything?" Quote: "No." The iguana sniffed and shook her head before walking over to her bed and sitting down. She pulled her legs to her barreled chest, her muzzle resting on her knees.
"Promise you won't think any less of me?" She asked, yellow gaze looking up into Antony's pink eyes. Quote: The older woman offered her a small smile before sitting down next to her on the bed, chuckling softly at Amaya's comment. "Look who you're talking to... I promise." Quote: Amaya swallowed and then looked down, taking a shakey breath. She sniffed and wondered how she was going to word such a thing to the squrriel woman.
"I... before Christmas..." She started, her muzzle knitting into a deep frown. "I was pregnant." She blurted out. Quote: Of all the things Amaya could say, Antony was taken aback by the comment, and she coughed a couple times with wide eyes. "What? I thought we were too far from human to get pregnant?!" A panic started to rise in the squirrel woman, and she immediately counted the amount of birth control in which she had left in her duplex. Quote: This sent Amaya into another wave of dry sobbing. She held her head in her hands and tried to choke out the rest of her words.
"That's just it!" She cried. "I... I'm a virgin and... and..." Quote: Antony blinked, brain processing this information as best as it could, which wasn't fast enough. "Uh... How?" Unless Amaya was the next Virgin Mary, and if that were true so help the Island. Quote: "I dunno!" The girl cried again, sniffling. "I had... had EGGS. EGGS!" She screamed. "F- ... 15 of them!" She said hysterically. "Th-they were all dead!" She sobbed. Quote: If at all possible, her eyes grew wider, "Eggs?" She spoke slowly and very punctuated, coming to her senses enough so that she could stay calm for Amaya's sake. "I think... That makes sense sadly, and that none of this was your fault. None of it." Quote: Amaya sobbed and shoved her head in her knees. "I'm only 17..." She whimpered. "S'not supposed to happen..." Quote: "C'mere," she whispered, opening her arms again and motioning her over, "It happens to the best of us... At least you never had to... Have an abortion. It could have been much worse I'd say..." It was the best she could think of doing at the moment as far as comforting goes. Quote: The giant lizard leaned into her embrace to cry into her bosum, though her eyes remained as dry as ever now that she lost the ability to shed tears.
"A-all I wanted was a-a family some d-day... N-Now lookit me." Quote: "You are still yourself, maybe not physically... But you must not lose faith in the humanity left still. Despite us being animals, we still posess the ability to be beautiful. Hell, all it takes is faith in yourself..." She rubbed the lizard girl's back affectionately, offering her a soft smile, "Any crushes?" Quote: "He doesn't like me." Amaya whimpered, still sniffling and crying into her white fur. "I tried already." Quote: "His loss than," she said immediately, waving her hand, "There's no use pining over him, whoever he is... Is there anyone else around your age that's nice and cute?" Quote: The teen shook her head, her tears slowly dieing down to occasional sniffles. Quote: "I'm sure you'll find someone... There's that bird-like kid... Marsh something?" She tapped her chin thoughtfully, "I'm sorry to say that most of the guys I know are too old for you..." Quote: "Marshall?" Amaya asked for clarification, then shrugged and looked off to the side. "Alec's the only one I've ever really liked and I know for sure he doesn't like me." Quote: "I guess that's him..." She trailed off, attempting to cover up a surprised cough, "Alec? Isn't he turning aquatic?" Quote: "Yeah." She said, though stopped herself from telling her he was now bound to a wheelchair.
"He probably thinks I'm some whore or something now. He... saw everything." Amaya frowned, her crying having stopped and was replaced with defeat. "We had a fight before I realised I was..." She trailed off, unable to finish what she was saying. Quote: "Then he's a dickhead if he thinks that of you, and not worth your time," she stated seriously, shaking her head. "It's not like he's a virgin, so that'd be very ******** hypocritcal if he got mad at you for that." Quote: Amaya blinked. Alec wasn't a virgin?
... Well, that was to be expected. He was a nice guy and good looking before he came to the island. Most people had sex really early nowadays anyway.
She settled for giving Antony a nod, though wasn't sure what to say herself. Quote: Running her hand through her hair, Antony chose to steer the conversation in another direction, "What was the fight about?" Quote: The iguana sighed. "He took me out on a date on the cliffs so y'know... I thought he liked me. But when we were walking back home and I asked him he just kept yelling at me that he didn't know." Quote: Antony scoffed, scowling slightly. "He's a teenage boy, what do you expect? Driven by hormones, well... Probably not so much anymore... Then there's always the possibility that he wants to protect you, knowing that he's turning into a shark... Because, well... That sort of relationship would be hard to say th eleast." Quote: Amaya looked down, her scaley form still held in the older woman's embrace. "I don't care that he's turning into a shark." She said. "He needs someone to help him and..." She trailed off.
"Even though he doesn't like me, I still like him." Quote: "I know you don't care, but he might... And he's a douchebag for it. Relationships, whatever kind... Are give and take and a delicate balance. If the scale is tipped one way or another, it will collapse." She paused, running her hand along the back of her neck as her tails flicked amongst themselves behind her. "You've got to move on, pamper yourself for a while... Or just find a new man to lust over." A wink was sent her way along with a grin. Quote: Though the humor was lost on Amaya. Just forget about him? How was she supposed to do that? What guy in their right mind would love her? How was she supposed to pamper herself in this... this hell?
She sniffed and looked like she was about to cry again. "Kay..." Quote: "At least make your bullshit believable," she commented, shaking her head, "Listen, I know it's hard, and maybe even damn near impossible... But sulking around and feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to suddenly make him like you. That's why it's not good to linger on disappointing thoughts." Quote: What wasn't dissapointing here?
"I know." Amaya said as she pulled out of the embrace to hug her legs again. She had been around longer than most on the island. She had also been the first to reach the end. The girl knew all about how bad it was to linger on dissapointing thoughts, having battled with them for the entire year she had been trapped on this island.
But now... she was done. She couldn't do it anymore. Quote: "C'mon, let us have some fun... Have you ever been drunk?" She grinned, waggling her eyebrows at the iguana while nudging her playfully. "Just us girls." Quote: The girl just shook her head no, though didn't have enough energy to refuse this time. Quote: "Lovely, that is on our to do list then, but for now... What's your favorite thing to do?" Hopefully, she'd find something to cheer her up. Quote: Amaya thought for a long moment before shrugging and mumbling. "I dunno anymore." She said in her quiet voice. "I can't even remember the last time I had any fun." Quote: "Do you like to build things? Granted there aren't any cars to work on around here, but maybe we could talk to the staff and they'd let us have a sort of dune buggy for the beach... I could teach you to drive." Antony seriously doubted that the staff would let them have something like this, but what's the harm in trying? Quote: Yellow eyes looked up at her and she shook her head again. "I've never built anything before."
"Or drove." Quote: "Driving is so freeing... It's wonderful and I think you'd like it, but we'd have to ask the staff first, of course." This would be fun if possible. Quote: "Okay." Amaya said with a tiny headbob. Quote: "We also need to arrange an occasion for which you can wear the dress at, maybe a party of sorts on the beach...? It gets depressing here when there's nothing to do, you know?" Quote: "I don't really like parties..." The iguana trailed off, looking down at her lap. "I don't dance or anything." Quote: "Aw, well I'll think of an occasion for the dress then," she again smiled, standing up and stretching her legs. "See, I'm not so good at cheering people up, or rather cheering women up... Men are quite easy, but I doubt a massage and blow job will brighten your day eh?" Her eyes twinkled with amusement, a cheeky grin playing on her muzzle. Quote: Amaya watched her stand up, only giving a mumble in acknowledgment. It almost made her angry to see how well Antony had adjusted to such a life. Why couldn't she have that?
Why did nothing ever turn out good for her? Quote: Antony raised her eyebrows expectantly, "What was that?" Quote: "Nothing." She said, looking up at her. "Just don't really feel like talkin' anymore." She looked back down at her lap, her fingers fidgetting with the hem of her huge white t-shirt. Quote: Her patience had worn thin, and she let out a low, chittering hiss, "Well if my efforts to cheer you up are going to be wasted, then what am I doing here still? I don't have much tolerance for people who positively wallow in self pity. You know what I think Amaya? I think you either need to get medicated of find something else to busy yourself with. Boys are not worth pining over emotionally. I've been there and done that. It's nothing but pain and heartache. And sure, s**t on this island is ******** horrible, but it is what it is and we might as well make the most of it. Because just like Alec, there's no point in pining over how much life sucks." Through out this entire rant, she paced the room out of frustration, tails lashing behind her and reflecting her mood. Quote: ... Boys?! She thought all of her problems were just because of Alec?! Whether this was the case or not, Amaya had enough. She jumped up and started to yell, though it only sounded like a normal person talking with how low her voice was.
"My family is DEAD! People I considered my family here are DEAD! I will never have a family of my own and my life has been a living hell ever since I got here! Look at me! I'm a ******** LIZARD and I just had 15 EGGS come out of me without EVER having sex before!"
"I've been here and endured s**t longer than most of the people here! I'm sick of it and I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!"
She paused, her face contorting as she started to cry again. "So GET THE ******** OUT!" Quote: Her frustrated features curled into a set of much nastier and venomous ones, her red eyes amplifying her rage. Clearly, Amaya had struck a nerve. "Oh poor little girl, you act as if you're the only one with tragedy in their life. You know nothing of hell or demons that will haunt you the rest of your life, and I'm not talking about little things such as physical changes. I'm talking about things that haunt your soul till the day you ******** die." "My mother's dead, and my father... my only family, if he is alive is probably guilt ridden and broken. I have survived rape, an abusive relationship, miscarriages, and an abortion... So what you've been on the island longer than I have? What do you want for that? A gold ******** star and a pat on the back? Get over yourself." "You want to compare horror stories with me? Go the ******** ahead, but what good is it going to solve? What GOOD WILL IT DO YOU?! Will it make you human again? No. How about get you off the island? Nope. Maybe it'll make everything magically better again? Hmmm... Not a chance in hell." By this time Antony was near face to face with Amaya, and she was leaning down over her in a threatening fashion. She was shaking with anger and fury, and she sneered even, "What it will do is leave you hollow and cold, turning every day into the living hell you speak of. I'm not saying you haven't experienced hardships, but you're not alone here. You're not the only one going through this ******** bullshit you know." Quote: Amaya continued to back up until her tail bumped into the bed, cowering under the woman's gaze. "I know!" She finally cried when she was finished, collapsing to sit on the edge of the bed.
"Just leave me alone..." She sobbed, curling into a ball. Quote: "Sorry I bothered to help," she snapped, backing up and clenching her fists. Her temper had to be taken elsewhere, and she realized this and immediately turned and grabbed her bag, heading to the door. "******** grow a backbone," Antony growled before leaving and slamming the door behind her.

It had been a few days since Miller had found his 'gift' from Antony on his door step, and he was less the pleased with it. Over those few days he had spent sometime gathering supplies from the village supply room that Gaius had often sent people too when needing something for the construction site. When he wasn't gathering supplies he would sketch out his idea.
His idea was finally set and ready and tonight would be the night to put his plan in action. He had watched Antony leave the duplex not long ago, it seemed like she was going out on a run of some sort. The moment he was sure she was out of earshot he started to move his step ladder and the paints to her duplex.
He started off with the black, tracing quickly the large block like letters on the window and door to her duplex, he didn't care that the paint ran in some spots, all the more she would need to clean. Next came a can of red and green in each hand as he worked to fill in every few letters in a different color.
Finished with the biggest part of the art he dropped the two cans and picked up the black adding the last word filled with black paint, before he left he took out a large sharpie and wrote a note on the door leaving the 'balls' tied around the door handle.

Finally, he'd moved off the crutches, though his pace was not going to get faster than walking for a while. He'd been lucky that between his neck and his tail there was enough counterbalance that he didn't have to constantly consider either. As usual he wore a large white scarf and pants, which kept him relatively cooled off in the daytime heat. There was a very faint jingle to each step he took, courtesy of the coins in the small pouch at his side.
He was just returning from the cafeteria. He'd chosen odd hours to go to continue avoiding the majority of islanders. Past alike duplexes to one that he'd walked back to many, many times. Darkness didn't affect his eyesight, so the bright red and green mess over the front of a duplex caught his eye from off to the side. Not having anything to rush to, he stopped to get a better look, craning his long neck up as far as it could go.
Oh, wow. That was some amateur graffiti.

It was just about that time where Antony was returning from her run on the beach, her hair raised on the back of her neck the moment she saw the not so herbivore islander looking at her duplex. Against her better judgement, as she got closer, her eyes moved to what he was intently staring at instead of remaining on the possible threat.
Her eyes narrowed, and her temper flared. Not at all at the words, but at the fact that he had gone on and painted on her ******** duplex. She could smell him well enough thanks to the wind direction, and an angry chittering noise left her muzzle along with a few choice words. "******** just dug his own grave," she muttered, forgetting about the dragon man for the moment.
She was already planning her revenge.

Zach didn't notice Antony approach. He'd never had more than his sight in the dark to go by. However, with her close proximity, he did hear her muttering and turned his neck sharply to face her, the rest of him turning soon after. His long tail swished quickly to find a way to balance him out.
He'd never paid much attention at the truth or dare sessions and whatnot, so her appearance came as more of a surprise than it should have. He'd met her when she looked human with a couple little tails, the first islander he'd met. And now she was covered head to toe in fur, with at least double the number of tails. The drunk guy from the other day had shared some intimate information about her, but he wasn't going to bring that up.
"Antony?" he asked, just to be sure. Maybe there was more than one raging albino squirrel on the island.

His voice startled her, and she jumped, eyes widening and hand going over her heart, "Jesus ******** Christ..." Antony squinted and cautioned a step towards him, "Holy ********... Zach? No offense, but dear lord." Her free hand motioned to his changes. This was all too much at once.
Looking back over up at her duplex, she sighed and ran a hand over her muzzle. "All this for a gag gift involving acorns."

"Surprised?" he smirked, trying to ignore the use of his name. He didn't like it any more, it belonged to the meek little person he used to be. He was a dragon now! As though to reassure himself of that, he opened his wings several feet in each direction casually as she approached. "I'm done changing, finally. It's great."
"I was kind of curious about that." He thumbed back in the direction of her vandalized duplex. He could sympathize, kind of. His own duplex had been painted on once, and it had taken a while to get it all off. Last he'd seen of her, she'd been trying to set fire to the mad wolf, Annie, so 'gag gift' probably meant something much worse. "Do I want to know what you did?"

"I just gave that kid Miller a pair of acorns with a nice note attached to them," she said with a wave of her hand as if it hadn't been so bad. "Apparently he didn't like them so much." A sidelong glance to Zach revealed a devious sort of smirk.
"And now he's gotten himself into something he's going to regret quite soon. Like initiating a prank war with me," she added cheerfully, "Want to help? I'll clean this s**t up in the morning."

"Uh-huh... can't imagine why." His own tone was joking. He could tell by the expression on her face that she must have been awaiting a reaction like this from this victim of hers, Miller.
He glanced back at the festive-looking duplex once again before giving her a curious look. "What did you have in mind?"

She looked thoughtful for a long while, and during that time, she climbed the stairs and motioned to Zach to follow her as she took a closer look at the damage. All of a sudden, it hit her, and a wide grin came across her muzzle. "I think I should help him decorate his duplex, but none of this lame paint bullshit..."
Unlocking her door, Antony held the door open in case he wanted to come in as well. "I'll just need to order some stuff from the labs, since I doubt Delia has what I need... Well aside from super glue, that is..."
When he was inside, she explained her plan, in detail to him, watching him expectantly for a reaction afterwards. "What do you think?"

Zach followed her, though he was a bit slow on the stairs with his odd feet. The interior of her duplex was a little different than before. The pole, for instance, he'd never seen before.
"Wow. That's definitely creative." It was bold, too. He hadn't been expecting her choice of decorative material, and as a guy he was a little iffy about it. "Can you... order those? I mean, would they let you get that many? I've never tried to get revenge on anyone here myself before, I just asked Sabin to deal with Rex and Thom once and he-"
s**t, he shouldn't have said that in front of her. Odds were she hated it here as much as the cobra did. He stopped himself before he said any more, looking around Antony's duplex rather than at her. His tail, all those feet of it, was curled behind him. "You're going to do this tonight?"

"Of course you can," she said, and to solidify her point, she went into her room and returned with two catalogs which sold just that (as well as many other things). Antony offered them to him to look at after finding the perfect styles for her prank.
When he stopped talking awkwardly, she raised an eyebrow and waved it off, "Sabin helped me with some revenge previously, but I haven't spoken to him since... Since Aubrey was attacked and he got locked out."
His question sparked another thoughtful expression before she nodded, "If I can get everything... Then yes... If not, then ASAP."
