Callista pulled away again, drawing her knees up into her chest and wrapping her arms around them. You said you were not worthy, but your actions and words are exactly what any lifemate would do. Don't ever do that to me again. I don't know if I can handle going through this again.

Callista shook her head. "No. Lifemates are one soul in two bodies. I've met you, spent a lot of time with you. I would never be the same after you died, I would never want another to be with. You are not Carpathian yet, but I would hope for you to join me as one one day. Then we can be as we were meant to."
