"Kirflag!" Cene cursed as the Echani passed the ring ahead of her and made the jump.
She had wasted a good portion of her payload on the ship and not a single missile hit.
This was infuriating. The Echani were no pilots. Space to them was just a distance between worlds that, on occasion, needed to be traversed. But the way this man handled his ship, it was clear he was a pilot. And a damn good one too.
"You have just made my list, Echani." Cene said as she passed through the ring and made the jump to hyperspace. "You have proven yourself worthy of a place in my trophy room. If you die to anyone but me, I will be very disapointed."

Dropping out of hyperspace into the Umbaran system, Pash took a quick look around the system with the sensors.
"Ok...No battlefleets, no unexpected cruisers, and so far no sign of our missile happy friend." He said, somewhat relieved.
"Dont be so quick to take a rest, Pash." Ardee said, still plugged into the computer. "Lets hurry up and get this over with before you give me a panic induced overload."

Koren stepped forward into the room and listened intensely to the question. He stood a moment, thinking, then took an eased pose. He reached up and unsealed his helmet. With a snap-hiss as the pressure equalized, he took off his helmet, revealing the man underneath.

Honestly sir, I think Kusp is beginning to lose his soul. He was a good intentioned, strong willed leader at first. But slowly, I believe he is moving away from the path that will take the Mando'ade to glory. Why is it that you ask me this, sir?
PostPosted: Tue Oct 07, 2008 8:20 pm

"Because," Stryder stated, resting his hands behind his back as he spoke, "Ung Kusp only went to war for selfish reasons. His war, while directed at a worthwhile foe, was unwarranted and motivated by his own gain."
"When the Mandalorians lost in the Great Sith War, it was because they swore loyalty to the Sith. When the Mandalorians became the Neo-Crusaders, it was Sith Reminants who pointed them at the Republic which would almost destroy them in their entirety. But time after time, the Jedi and the Republic have fought hard against the Mandalorians, proving themselves honroable by facing and besting them in battle. It is not the Jedi who your people should consider their greatest enemies. It is the Sith. And Ung Kusp's misguided efforts at revenge will not gain your people the victory they need over the beings who have wronged them so many times. Your people are split, devided, and unmoved to battle the Sith. A new leader is needed."

Half of the Sith fleet stirred from their positions above the planet and moved towards the northern hemisphere. As they moved above one of the continents, they suddenly plunged downwards, moving closer and closer to the deadly shields protecting the planet from their bombardment.

They moved closer and closer until finally they reached the threshold...and passed through. The shield had been lowered just in time, and the vessels opened fire on the Givin ships flying just over the planet's surface. Fighters, bombers, and landing craft poured from the hangar bays of the Sith vessels, swarming over the defense ships and heading for the ground.

The element of surprise was still theirs, and as legions of Sith troopers and droids exited from those craft already landed, a grim smile crossed the face of Marr Silvertongue.

"Admiral, I trust you can handle things up here," he said, turning to the officer, "have the Avatar prepared for takeoff."

"Are you going into battle, my lord?" he asked, a little surprised by the order.

"I promised our allies on the surface that I would meet them once their part in this was done," he said, heading towards the turbolift, "and so I shall."

Koren's eyebrows raised at the Jedi's talk of a coup. He crossed his arms over his chest and lifted his shoulders in an inquisitive manor.

How do you propose this new leader is appointed? Who would it be?

"The Mandalorians are an individualistic lot." Stryder said. "Their leader must be one who represents the best ideals of the Mando'ade, someone who's actions speak to them. They will not follow a being because of words alone. A leader will have to prove they are strong, brave, clever, and tough. And when he possesses all that, the people will flock to him."
Stryder's gaze became apprasing.
"Do you think you can do a better job of leading the Mando'ade then Kusp?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 07, 2008 9:32 pm

Me? Manda'lor? You seem to misunderstand what I do. I'm special ops. I infiltrate, kill people in my way, and blow the place sky high. I follow orders, and sometimes get paid. I love getting my hands covered in black powder and clay explosives.

Koren scratched his chin with his forefinger and thumb and cocked an eyebrow.

...but then again, I have given up my everything in the name of my people. I have been honorable and lived by the Six Tenants. Hmm... Yes. I think that decision would be up to my people.

Koren lowered his arms back into a crossed position and his expression lightened, more curious than scrutinous.

So let me hear your plan, Stryder.

"What I have is money, access to equipment and arms, and the capability to train you to be not just a soldier, but a leader of men." Stryder said. "The Chance to become the Leader of your people will be yours. But you will have to be the one to grasp it. I can not make your people follow you. In Return, all I ask is that you continue to fight the Sith. Fight and win. Consider it a crusade. The First Great Crusade since Mandalore the Ultimate."
Stryder held out his hand, a level look in his seasoned eyes.
"Do we have a deal, Commander?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 07, 2008 10:20 pm

Koren looked him over for a second, contemplating the conversation that was just had. In less than five minutes, they had already pointed out the flaws in the current Mandalorian leader, planned his death, and started training who would hopefully be accepted by his people as the new Manda'lor; Koren himself. It was risky, but so were explosives and Koren couldn't live without them. So he uncrossed his arms and extended his hand to Stryder.

It's a deal. But if my people don't accept me, I will not force myself upon them. Otherwise, I accept your terms.

The commlink at Koren's side beeped, indicating that either they were under attack, or they had arrived. And Koren could feel no turbolasers unloading onto his ship. So, he took his helmet and replaced it on his head, sealing it tight and re pressurizing it.

Will you be escorting me back to the Command deck? We most likely will be going planet side soon, and I think you would enjoy what Keldabe has to offer.

"I dont doubt that." Stryder said as he accompanied Koren back to the command deck. "Besides, I need to aquire other clothes if I am to remain in hiding. I think a nice suit of armor would be satisfactory. And if you can not find armor on Mandalore, you certainly arent looking hard enough."

"Oh, I'm not complaining," Ritt stated. "I only have some problems with my hand getting tired of painting after fifty, sixty fighters on the hull."

In reality, the biggest concern Ritt had was the rest of the fighters. More than a wing of fighters were coming their way, and their numbers were rapidly diminishing since the last barrage. The Station's defenses were all but obliterated, the cruisers were bleeding from the waist, and the fighter groups would quickly get pecked to death. The only thing now was...

"This is Captain Tuing. Ritt, get your fighters out of there, the situation is becoming too volitile to handle."

"But Cap, we can handle this. There's only about a hundred and fifty of 'em. Just give us a bit more time!" Ritt argued back, although he realized just how ludacris it sounded as he spoke.

"And the cruisers? Pull out now, or I'll leave you behind. Screw the court marshall threat, the Force won't save you from stupidity."

Ritt bit his lip, as he relayed the orders back. "Pull back squadron, full retreat."

The rings were functioning perfectly, accepting the data from the various scenarios from all the various racers onboard their ships. Information which would be useful in the coming battles. As the racers headed towards Umbara, Nakara arranged for several carrier ships to stand by to help transport the racers to their next destination while they rested.

However, he did not provide the racers any luxury of noting this. The umbarans would handle the ships instead. The natives of Aquaris had already been more than welcome to host the second part of the races, no more than a day later. The unique designs that Nakara borrowed from Gustab Wenbus would prove to make an interesting race indeed, although he had wished he could have done it on the original soil of the sport. More deadly that swoops, and just as fast, the sport was still rather fresh and somewhat exciting, especially since with so many human competitors it would be unique to see a race none were really good at.

"Have we recieved confirmation from Ord Mantell for hosting the Gladiatorial event?" He asked a droid as it walked by. It gave a small confirmation, and resumed it's duties. He stared at the green-skinned twi'lek as she looked back at him with equal tenacity.

"So you're the greatest podracer in the galaxy right now, huh? 24 standard years old. I'd say you're a little 'green'..."

The oncoming Buzzard slid into the Aurek’s HUD and the little fighter’s combat computer immediately read the oncoming objects IFF and set a pair of yellow brackets around the enemy’s fighter as the targeting system sought for a lock on. A warning sounded in her ears as the red light indicating enemy lock on began to blink, as the Buzzards own onboard systems were seeking to lock on to the rapidly approaching Republic starfighter. The Sith pilot over confident in her abilities and impatient for the kill squeezed her trigger before her fighters computer had signaled that it had locked onto the Aurek.
The Buzzards cannons flashed, sending a stream of deadly metal hurtling across the void, but Aurora was patient, she could feel the Force flowing though her, guiding her actions and a split-nanosecond after the Aurek’s targeting system locked the Buzzard up Aurora pressed on her guns as the yellow brackets turned to red. The Aureks wing tips light up as the heavy laser cannons spat bolts of energy at the Buzzard, solid projectile rounds, and bolts of energy passed each other. Rounds impacted into the shields as Aurora reallocated the power and she felt the vibration in her control stick as a round penetrated the shield and impacted somewhere on her fighter.
She glanced at her cockpit canopy as another round plowed into the transparasteel, scaring the surface. The Buzzard as not as fortunate, Aurora’s laser blasts slammed in the Sith fighter, biting beep into its fuselage and tarring into its wings. The Buzzard exploded into a fireball and Aurora watched wide eyed as the front nose of the Buzzard with its sharp-toothed painted grin tumbled out of the expanding ball of fiery gas and flew over her wing and past her canopy, trailing fire and debris as it spiraled past.

“You mean to tell me that after all this time you have yet to make a stencil?” Aurora teased Ritt over the comm only to snap her mouth shut as she heard the order to retreat.
“Roger that.” She sighed, falling onto Ritt’s wing for the flight back to the Bathurst.

With the ship entering the planet's atmosphere, Deakin leveled it completely and slowed it down to a quarter speed. Keldabe was dead ahead, about 2 miles. Getting a job wouldn't be the hardest, nor the easiest. The perfect start was in between. His first task when stepping on ground, was to look for a decent, working droid to run the ship. Deakin cracked his neck and put on his bucket.

Deakin slowed the ship down a bit more, a half klik away from the star port. Dealing with the port officers was a pain for him. Thankfully, his ship was registered to him by legal terms, so if anything, he couldn't get in trouble. Reaching the star port, he extended the landing gear and slowly landed in an empty space. When the ship was on the ground, Deakin shut off the engines and computers completely. After this, he'd have to refuel. "Finally," he muttered, happy flying was over. Getting up from the pilots chair, he headed to the exit ramp, boots making a clanking sound.
