I'm still game for a broken down, POS freighter. Nothing like the hum and clicking of loose parts as you go through hyperspace to lull your fear of flying.

That ship's "Feel" is from the Millenium Falcon, which the origional idea for Serenity came from. You want that feel, then use a Yt-1300.

A Yt-1200 is similar enough, but still has enough differences so that it doesn't wind up being a Falcon ripoff.
Which would be notorious by now for its smuggling runs for jabba in the underworld.

Just because we have a YT-1300, it doesnt mean we're riping off the Falcon.

Nothing like a used ship with modified old parts stern about everywhere.
Aside, I didn't want a tip-top ship, we just need to find a good one....or build our own.

About a Consular-class?
We could refit it an it could serve as basically anything, redefining the systems turns its crewing size of from 8 to 4 or even less. Conference rooms and other necessities can be scrapped for cargo space or other things.

It crews a maximum of 15, minimum of 4 or 5. Cockpit fits five, medbay, two forward guns, two turret lasers, four engine/wing mounted guns, four crew cabins/two to a cabin (sleeping in shifts only), armory, engine room. Etc etc. My owntwist on the original design. The Cougar. It wasn't made for Star Wars but it'll do nicely.
Addendum: The Consular sounds like a nice ship. I don't mind that one.

It looks a bit like an assault ship though...
Ok, heres the problem, we need to figure out what we want to do with our ship before we figure out what kind and which one.

Probably... trafficking of goods, escaping bigger ships, small combat. That's my guess.

We're going to be Free-traders. If you dont know what that is, then you havent been an outlaw long enough. And I recomend the Barloz Class Freighter. While I'm using it in my own campaign, it aught to be plenty good for this one as well. http://deckplans.00sf.com/CEC/Barloz/Barloz.html
