"I didn't think it was when it was happening, believe me. I cried so much, Daddy let me out within an hour because he couldn't stand it. He got me out of a lot of scrapes when I was little and didn't tell my mother, which was quite wise on his part. He's a good man, always understood my need to be out and among the wildlife, even if they were dangerous." She fingered the necklace lightly and patted Jae's arm. "You turned out just fine without them but I wish you would have known them, Bell. At least you wouldn't have to wonder." Her gaze turned to the show unraveling on the deck and she frowned as various things were tossed back and forth. She'd been right. He'd been keeping a living thing locked away in the caverns. She watched the dragon slap him around and simply stayed close to Jae. "Just pretend like she's not even here." Although seh couldnt' help but notice that this dragon wasn't bladed either, and didn't seem to be tripping over things as much as Jae did. Hmm...

She turned her looks and such from him at the screaming of Hunter's name. And it wasn't in pleasureable fashion and she wasn't doing the screaming. "You have company?" Turning a look back to him before she was gently pushed away and stood, bottle of rum still in hand. "I'll write a memo to memo you." Watching him leave before finishing off the bottle she had and leaving it on his desk, grabbing a trinket from one of his shelves and tucking it into her vest before strolling out, just in time to see Hunter get decked by a dragoness. "So he has a thing for red-heads. I don't know whether to be flattered or not." Though interesting information that was being passed about. Walking over to the railing, she hoped over to her own ship with a laugh. "Mister Robins! I need someone to be amused with!" Oh come now, she couldn't watch Hunter being assulted alone, someone had to hold her steady.
"I take it we shouldn't step into the middle of that..." Well it seemed that Hunter had a friend over for a visit, or at least that's how she was going to put it. More like disgruntled ex-girlfriend or something. Not that humans and dragon-folk tended to mingle in such relationships...life spans and all. Something was off about that dragoness, not that she could pin it right off and her attention had been duly drawn away somewhat. "I don't wonder too often, I think that's because I was still in my egg." Shrugging lightly. "Trying to figure it out wouldn't do me too good, I'm all grown up now and everything."

Hunter looked up at her, and wiped his jaw with the back of his hand. though he did hear gem and gave a slight grin to himself. Mister Robins wouldn't be 'amusing' her at least for another few days.
"Over my dead body."
Desdemona leaned over a bit on him.
"That can be arranged."
before noting a woman...leaving his cabin. the captain of the other ship? OH she picked him up by his collar and literally left his feet dangling.
"You want to talk to ME about being unfaithful when YOUR trapezing around with that woman!? How dare you!"
She held him with one hand and backhanded him with the other.
"I never laid a hand in such manner on any other but you! and I bet I can explain it. how's this for an explanation. the same sewer rat that lied to you took the item when I was sleeping and put it there. I wore it in plain sight, I wasn't ashamed of you. I didn't lock it away in some hole."
Hunter opened his mouth, probably to argue the point, when he got backhanded again.
"No talking from you. not a word. you just open your damned ears and you listen. Looking back, don't you find it a bit oddly convenient that you never saw me do anything, but had many assurances form him that I did? that any conversation you were told about was always out of your earshot?"
At this point...one of the crew, a very sour looking older sailor with darker hair, started moving himself out of sight of the rest of the crew. Hunter's Master-at-Arms. Hunter kept himself silent.
"Where's the old hunter. is he still living in this shell? hmm? buried somewhere under ten years of treachery and violence? Where are my scales? do you still even have them? do you even look at them or think about me when you're not bringing food or offering to share a bed?"
Hunter remained quiet. after all, anyone who had even been slapped by a dragon knew how much it hurt. and no one wanted to invite being hit. though his hand did start to reach for his cutlass.

Savryn turned her look upward with a blink as if she was looking through the deck. It wasn't hard for her even more so sensitive senses to pick up on things going on above ground and she had garnered a touch of empath into herself to pick up on such things. Not to mention that the soul and like fluxtuated with such flaring of emotions. A hand placed to one of the beams and a little spark and flare of green energy that sank into the wood, her curiosity leading her to seek out whom was involved in such things. "There is no sense of peace on this wretch ship..."

Caden kept quiet as the dragon and the elf talked back and forth between each other, it wasn't hard to hear what they were saying but he didn't want to butt in and say something rude like last time. So he pushed himself away from the wall and walked over to Kaz, leaning against the railing of the ship beside him and gave the red dragon and nod before looking at the sea. "Do you know where we are off to next?" He asked the man before suddenly he saw a very pissed off dragon come on board and start something with Hunter. "Oh boy..." He muttered and turned his head away and back to the sand, so that was the secret he had in that cave, seems like it was coming back to take a bite out of his a**.

Thobias appeared the moment he was called and he gave a smile to Gem then swept her into his arms and headed into the cabin. Amusement could come in so many different ways. It was up to Gem to decide what way she wished for him to amuse her. "Your wish is my command, my lovely captain. I have a surprise for you in fact. A little something fetched from beneath the caverns." Thus shutting and locking the door since they wouldn't be exiting anytime soon.
"Hmm, probably not. But that's definitely not good." Obviously no one cared about the very obvious show being put on right now, but Shyrae was so used to confrontation that she really didn't care. She was more upset over the fact that Hunter had actually locked the dragon away. "You can't miss what you never really had sort of thing? I suppose not. No one at the orphanage took your parents' place?" She couldn't imagine growing up without any parents at all. Her own had done more for her than she could possibly describe. "Kaznec is a good friend to you. You two grew up together?"
Eilynne and Rahsaveer popped up next to the squabbling couple a moment later. She reached into her robes and removed two shiny red scales, holding them up to the dragon. "I believe these are what you are looking for dragon. The one responsible for your imprisonment remains on this ship. Do what you will with him." Then a sideways glance at Hunter. "Things you do not value will be taken from you. You did not value these, thus they were removed. You do not even know their true power but Desdemona does. This is why she wishes for them back."

Gem gave a laugh. "Oh look at that, I'm a nice thorn in his side." Looking over to the dragoness. "Look honey, Hunter doesn't stick to one woman, that's just not how it is. Don't be all jealous." Oh look, the rum was talking too. Thoush she was a little disoriented over being suddenly scooped up and carted off. "Ooh a surprise. I like those. Is it shiny and multifascited as well as goes with my name?" Giving another chuckle but a frown as she noted her cabin being thier destination. "Oh I'm missing the fireworks..." Not that she seemed to care too horribly. "Mmm, I need a map..."
Bell was merely trying to keep from getting too close or sucked into the conversation that was being angrily shouted over obviously hurt feelings. It wasn't a good thing at all, and well dragons could indeed be quite violent when they wanted to be. "Not really...just sorta made sure I was fed, clean, and healthy really. A dragon is a lot less dependant than say a human or elf when we...well hatch." Shrugging lightly. "Well, he's quite the bit older than me, but I did grow up with him. We've always been close I suppose."

Arms crossed and just standing by the railing for the moment, his hands gripped himself tighter as the stranger was brought aboard. And a dragoness no less... Apparently, Hunter had been playing metaphorical judge, jury, and executioner for quite some time. Vengence was not a pretty thing and he had his apprehensions if this new dragoness was to stay and continue on the quest with them. But Raynes offered up a distraction and he turned to acknowledge his guard. "We need to stop somewhere for supplies, I think. The galley is running low and it seems like we also have another mouth to feed." Still keeping eyes on the bickering pair from a distance.

Caden kind of noticed that his commander seemed a little more tense once that dragon came on board, and really he couldn't blame the man since he was now hearing how once of his kind was imprisoned, though still the guard wouldn't know exactly how the man felt about it unless he asked. So he would leave it alone and even stay out of the hash fight between human and dragon, he didn't need to get himself injured. "Yeah you're right, I've noticed that supplies have been getting a bit low in the past while as well...I wonder what port we will go to." A pause as he thought it over then sighed. "I wonder where the next shard will be, hopefully it wouldn't be at a similar place like that church." A light chuckle to that, he was trying to lighten the mood a little.

Hunter positively glared at that little devilspawn thing. oh he really, REALLY hated those things right now. though he got dropped rather uncerimoniously on his a**. though he gave a loot to Eilynne.
"I really, really am begining to hate you."
Desdemona took her scales, and looked at them, pushing them around on her hand some.
"where did you find them?"
though she shot a glare at Hunter, kicking at him lightly.
"Where is he? what position is he on this ship?"
"Master-at-arms. I don't know where he is I was a bit preoccupied."
Though about that time there was a sound on the sand, and one of the Chimera's longboats was working it's way out from them.
Desdemona turned her attention toward it, closing her hand around her scales lightly.
"Hold that though, star eyes. I have a human cockroach to deal with."
And she took a few step and jumped off the ship, gliding out the longboat. shortly after there was a scream that was cut off...and a few minutes after that she came back to the ship, eatting apparently part of his arm like a drumstick.
"Now..where were my scales?"

"Of course. And it's green just like you adore as well." Speaking of course of the giant emerald he'd found in the caverns for her. He shook his head at the debacle currently happening over at the Chimera and chose not to ask. Truthfully, he didn't want to know. "Always playing the Captain aren't you? I'll give you ten minutes wiht it and then you and I have other plans." Thus handing over a rolled piece of parchment. "Your time starts now."
Eilynne let her have her scales for about the ten minutes it took to take care of the one responsible for her current predicament. Then those twin rubies disappeared from Desdemona's hand altogether and she would not find them no matter how hard she looked. "Their location matters not and the reasons for the locale he chose matters even less. This is all as frivolous as your fear of the mythical Davy Jones." She shrugged at Hunter, "You brought all of this on yourself." Turning her gaze back to the dragonness, she crossed her arms. "You will assist me."
"I'm glad. Savvy and I are like that as well and I'd trust her with my life." Shyrae was horrified at the dragon's actions, both the ones that cared for Jae and also the one currently throwing a fit on the ship. She blinked for a moment and frowned at the arm. "That's a...human arm, isn't it? I thought the dragons here didn't eat humans...or elves." Glancing at Jae slightly nervously for a moment. Lycear had mentioned that dragons, humans, and elves lived together in harmony on Ilindal, something more or less unheard of in other places according to Savryn. She didn't actually think Jae would eat her but still. It was disturbing on many levels. "The poor man."

"Such close people are wonderful, aren't they?" Well...nothing like butchering a human to get your attention and she had duly startled at the sight, covering her face with her hands a moment before flipping out her wings and folding them around herself to somewhat shield herself from the sight of such a thing. That just wasn't a civilized thing...and was very disturbing. Shaking her head to Shyrae from behind her wings. "We're not supposed to, it's consider a Wild dragon thing...dragons who've lost thier moral and code." Personally it made her stomach turn.
Oh well that was even more interesting, we go from tainted negative feelings to the tell tale signature of death happening a distance away afterwards. Needless to say there was no lack of profession fodder for her when she did hang out with pirates. It was probably the only plus that she found on this trip. Still...the negatives still outweighed the positives...like she would kill a man for a shower right now, liked to be clean.
"Oh green too, how lovely. And I don't play captain, I am a captain." Meandering over to her desk as she took the roll, spreading it out on her desk and using the carious paper weights on the desk top to hold it down at the corners. "We all need to resupply, Deacon menitoned a nearby atoll...want to find it. And I do believe we need to discuss where we'll be heading next." Brushing her hair from her eyes as she leaned across the desk, following lines with her finger. "What kind of plans." Cringing lightly as she put weight on her bad arm quickly shifting it off.

Malik's eyes were closed, leaning on the wall with his arms crossed, one foot braced against it.
"It's another dragon. woman. her hate and anger is palpable...as well as a deep sorrow."
his eyes opened, and looked at his daughter.
"I told you before you'd need that skill, and you said you'd never be without water for a shower."
A slight chuckle.
"Age your skin, just the first layer. you'll shed it much like a snake..and there you go, all clean until next time or until you find some fresh water."
Hunter glared lightly, and got himself up, looking between the two. he said nothing to desdemona...but his attention moved to the pest.
"you meddle in affairs you shouldn't. And I sincerely hope it comes back to bite you in the a**. or costs you that friend of yours."
and he went to his cabin, and closed the door...though not before Mister Richards got in.
"She'll want her old quarters if that damned thing has her join with us. the key is in the lockbox on the left."
"Sir...why didn't you tell me about her? I mean I could have set aside food or supplies as needed, at the very least given you reminders of when her supplies were almost out..."
"You're pushing your limits, David. What happened between us was my responsibility to take care of. You don't really think I'd let her die in there, do you?"
"But that kind of betrayal.."
"We betrayed each other. She betrayed my faith in her, and I betrayed her love for me. even if her comments about the former master-at-arms are correct. you know as well as I do that anything of great value isn't able to be accessed by anyone if you really want it kept away. she might as well have handed it over to him. and my actions...they are more monsterous, perhaps."
He knew were those scales were. and short of that little devil's magicks, no one could get to them. over his dead body was quite correct. Hunter had one tattoo. just one. it was a thorned rose tattoo that curled up and around his right bicep, from forearm to shoulder. there was a blooming rose on his shoulder, and one in the middle of his upper arm. he'd had those scales stuck under the red roses.
She tossed aside the arm, and looked at the little star girl.
"I don't have my scales...which you were so adamant about me being stupid to give away. yet I'm determined to help you for you getting yourself out of a position I probably would not have been in had someone on this ship interfered."
A snort.
"But what help do you want from me?"

Raising an eyebrow to Raynes at his answer. "Been going hungry for a few days? That's how things are done on a ship, I suppose. The quick get to eat the most." Things were not looking up at all. Yes, that was a human arm in the dragoness' mouth. Kaz resisted the urge to gag and simply looked away, glancing in Jae's direction for a moment before looking back. "There's no telling how much longer we will have to search to find another piece. I hope so too, but danger is everywhere." And then a thought struck him. "Have you been training while on this trip?"

Caden raised an eyebrow in response to his commander and his own choice of words then shook his head. "No not really, when one gets bored enough and have to occupy themselves they seem to find out that they may take inventory from time to time." A light chuckle from him before he shook his head. Though he looked back to the female dragon and both of his eyebrows shot up, she was holding a human arm, that wasn’t a good sign really but then again it wasn't his arm now was it? So he kept his eyes to the sand until Kaz spoke and gave a light nod. "That's why I'm glad that we all have different abilities, danger can take different forms after all." Another nod from him before he looked at the commander from the corner of his eye then grinned. "Been trying to, but I do get at least four hours in from time to time, training on a rocking boat can have it's disadvantages after all."
