Kazuki sat down tail curling around him in an attempt to keep warm. Thoughts of the icy water made him shiver. He stopped when someone spoke. Heh. The tribe was like one huge family. Though he wasn't sure if he recognized the fox he knew he should respond.
"This tribe has always been that way. It was always one large family. He looked at the fox and smiled kindly. Though he looked away when he heard a voice stammering. That fox he did recognize. It was Ollure. He remembered well the trouble this had caused, since he and Ari were so divided on the idea of Anajfey breaking off her engagement with Rendo. Not that Kazuki minded. He frowned a bit wondering if he should harbor such ill-will towards Rendo. It was then that memories of Rendo flooded Kazuki's mind. He felt his blood boil a bit. That fox had no respect for anything. What he felt was right was right and no one could prove him otherwise. Shaking his head, to break free of his thoughts Kazuki focused on Ollure. He smiled softly at her. He harbored no ill-will towards her and hoped Ari would agree with him in letting her join.
"Good Evening Ollure. I remember you well and there is no need to be afraid." At least that is what Kazuki hoped. He looked over at Ari. He was a bit unsure as to how Ari would take it.
Piko watched Ollure move towards his fathers. Why was she so afraid? He didn't understand. She had such a strong will why was she so timid in front of his father. They couldn't be that intimidating. Piko just stayed were he was watching. He noticed his sister off to the side by anther pair of foxes.
Yuchia stopped as all the other foxes did to look at her fathers. She also heard that people needed to speak to them. This made her curious. She turned to the fox who spoke about speaking to her father.
"Ummm..Excuse me? Why do you need to speak with my fathers?" She had been gone so long and had left very young, she didn't understand why their fathers so important. Sure they were elders, but why at their return did they have to be kept so busy. It made no sense. Did Ari not do anything? Yuchia frowned a bit as she focused on these thoughts.
((Sorry for taking so long to respond...Had a death in the family))

Ari had thought that the vixen looked somewhat familiar, and when she spoke her name, and Anjafey's name, everything came back to him. The trouble that Anjafey and Rendo had had. The unmating. The fact that Anjafey now supposedly loved this vixen, instead of her former mate.
That reminder stirred up some annoyance in Ari, remnants of what had formerly been outright dislike, perhaps even hatred.
Anjafey and Rendo had managed to sort things out, and Rendo himself had decided that he would let the unmating happen. Just because of what had happened, he shouldn't let that cloud his judgment of this vixen.
But still, it was hard, thinking of everything Anjafey had done: attacking a male with a group of other females simply because he said something they did not approve of, nearly attacking a kit something he still could not believe a carer could possibly do, and, of course, all the hurt she had caused Rendo.
The more he thought about Anjafey, and remembered, the less and less hospitable he felt toward Ollure, who was part of the reason Anjafey had wanted to be unmated from Rendo, part of yet another of Anjafey's misdeeds.
No, he realized, there was no way he could possibly put all of that to the side, not at the moment.
He knew that he should not judge Ollure for what wrongs Anjafey had committed, but suddenly everything was fresh in his mind again, and he couldn't.
And, could he trust Kazuki to be fair in his decision? Kazuki had taken the complete opposite side of Ari at that time, siding with Anjafey against Rendo. Would he unquestioningly welcome this vixen into the tribe, just because of her relation to Anjafey?
Ari supposed he would have to. It would be difficult enough to say something civil to her, while he distracted himself with the needs of someone else.
"I'll leave this to you, Kazuki, if you don't mind," Ari said, already beginning to walk over towards Rime. He was never much of a closed book, and he was sure that Ollure could see something was bothering him. Would she know what? Would Anjafey have told her? He didn't know.
"I believe you said you had an interest in joining the tribe, Rime, did you not?"

((PLE? Can I ask which two foxes Yuchia is speaking to? In Piko's post, it says 'pair of foxes', whilst in her own post, Yuchia is said to be speaking to 'the fox who spoke about speaking to her father'. I assume it's to Aara and Thea, or possibly Rime, but I'm not quite so sure.))

Rime looked up as Ari spoke to her. She could tell that something was bothering him, but she felt it best not to ask him about it. It was most likely none of her business, and she didn't want to give the tribe reason not to try and welcome her. "Ah, yes. Yes I did." she answered, almost nervous that he chose to ask her directly like that. "I'd heard of a tribe that lives by the moon, sort of like how I dwell in the stars." She smiled. 'That, and it seems like I've found somewhere I can call home, and a sort of family...' she thought. She didn't feel the need to mention this, and was rather pleased that she had finally thought of something without suddenly blurting it out.

Her gaze shifted from Kazuki to Ari, and then back to Kazuki. Ari had dismissed her needs and laid the burden upon Kazuki. While this agitated Ollure to no end, that though they were mated and both Elders, Ari would lay a serious decision involving something as complicated as her current involvement with the tribe was incomprehensible. She did not like her chances with Ari to begin with, but this just made her think about whether this was the place for her or not. The lines of her thoughts racing appeared in her eyes as they shifted back and forth on some invisible point on the ground before her before she focused back on Kazuki.
"Elder... If we could take a moment and speak privately? I know you've just returned and that there are others who need your guidance... I would gladly wait until you have seen to whatever you need to with them before I take any more of your time."
With that she bowed her head and took a few steps back.

"Then, you're welcome to stay with us for now. If you find the tribe to your liking, and you fit in well with the others, then you will be promoted to a full member shortly."
The precaution was a relatively new one, because of everything that had happened with one certain vixen...
He forced himself to not turn to look at her mate, who had just arrived here.
"It's a mere precaution, and we have yet to turn anyone away, who wants to join the tribe," he added as a reassurance. "Is there anything else you wish to speak about? There are quite a few others I must also speak with." His tone was somewhat apologetic: it seemed to say 'if it weren't for how much I have to do, I would very much like to continue conversing with you'.

Kazuki stood there stunned for a moment. Did Ari just drop a very important issue on him? An issue that should both discuss even though they are both divided on it. Kazuki's fur flared a bit in agitation. Ari's behavior towards the Ollure, Anjafey and Rendo issue rubbed him the wrong way. His eyes narrowed slightly as he watched Ari sweet talk the new members. What happened to the Ari he once knew. Could he even trust Ari now consider how harsh he is being with Ollure and Anjafey. All this knowing how miserable Anjafey was with Rendo. Kazuki started to regret returning. Nothing was how it used to be. He shook his head and took a deep breath to order to calm down.
"Fine. I shall deal with the issues you want to avoid, because you are so biased." Kazuki's tone hid nothing from the world. He thought things would be ok, but how wrong he had been. He turned to face Ollure and smiled looking a bit tired.
"No, we need to handle this issue now. We have let to much time pass and it has only gotten worse...." He paused and looked to Ari.
"For one of us that is. Come let us go somewhere more private. " Kazuki started to move away wondering where would be the best spot. Maybe the top of the mountain where he prayed. Very few went there...But no. It was too close to the tribe. They needed space and no one could follow or interrupt. He glanced back at Ollure as he walked.
"Any suggestions as to where we should go?"

She paused a moment, listening to Kazuki's words and outright 'calling out' of Ari's behavior. Something she had wanted to do almost immediately but thought wiser of it as it wasn't her place at the time. She had no authority here, she had no way of making things obvious for Ari. She just wished that he could separate his opinions of Anjafey from her. She was not Anjafey, no matter how much she loved the other female.
She took a few seconds to ponder Kazuki's question before nodding and stepping off in another direction, away from the crowd. Her head turned and she called back to Kazuki with a sad smile about her visage.
"We can go to the clearing where Anja and I met... I think that will give us some privacy."
As much as she wanted to be close to Anja, she really wasn't sure it was going to be worth all of this. Ollure had no desire to cause anymore strife within the tribes heart.

Kazuki nodded and followed Ollure. He kept his head slightly lowered as he wondered how would this even work out. Of course he didn't mind having Ollure join. The problem was would Ari agree, or be willing to compromise. It seemed that to Ari Anjafey was bad and so was her new mate. Kazuki sighed and looked up. He noticed that Ollure also seemed nervous. Not that he blamed her. Kazuki was trying very hard not to blow up on Ari with this whole situation. They had already fought about it before...how would they be able to over come it.
"So Ollure...how have things been with you?" Kazuki felt he needed a distraction from his thoughts. He decided to focus on Ollure and maybe try to understand the vixen better.

"Oh, nothing too pressing..." Rime replied, noticing how the other fox seemed to be either preoccupied or nervous. "You go do what you need to do." she added with a warm smile. She too would have liked to talk longer, but she knew that he must have a pile of things to take care of. It seemed that there were quite a few who were waiting to talk with him, and whatever they wanted to say something more than idle chat.

"Thanks," he told her, before going to find the next fox who needed his attention.
He could tell that Kazuki was not pleased with what he had just done, but it would not be fair to Ollure to judge her based on her mate. And so, however tempting it might be for him to deny her to the tribe, so that Anjafey would finally ask to leave and hopefully find another tribe that fit her better. Kana, maybe. Because, in spite of all Anjafey had done, in spite of how much she had turned completely against the tribe, Kazuki was still her friend, and because of that fact, the only way for Anjafey to leave the tribe would be voluntarily: he knew that Kazuki would not banish her.
He hated so, so much, that, all these months later, Anjafey was still around to haunt them, even though he hadn't seen the vixen herself in quite some time.
He shook his head, to try to focus it, as he approached the next fox, a vixen over by Thea.
"You've said that you've come here to join the tribe, did you not?" he asked her.

"Indeed it is, Pretty One." Aara stated, fluffing her fur and smiling at Thea, while giving their intertwined tail a gentle squeeze. She watched the interactions closely, trying to decipher what was really going on, yet another habit picked up from the glowing vixen-kit, Nayelie. When the Elder addressed her, she felt her heart jump in her chest. She squeezed their tails, her only show of anticipation, and stood up while untangling her tail from Thea's. "Indeed I have, Elder Ari. I have much to speak to you about, but will not try to waste your time, for I also know that you have much still to do. But, I have no fear of speaking in front of others; for why not let my prospective tribe-mates hear my story, as the truth comes from my own lips?"
"I'm not one to be known for my astonishing word-play or awe inspiring speech-making skills, so I shall try to keep this blunt. I wish to place myself amongst the ranks of the Lunarie Tribe, your tribe, because I hear the call of the moon. Do not mistake me; I was at one time, abashed to all religious ties. But, then I saw my reflection in the eyes of the full moon, and I liked what I saw. I have since then became an avid follower, striving for the serenity that I saw when I first beheld the moon in it's blanket of stars."
She lowered her head, saddening a little bit. "And there have been some down sides, for I can not longer be awake whilst my sisters and our extended family roams, and I found that it is quite hard to hunt the sharp-seeing doe while your coat is glowing in the moonlight. Many of my nights have been cold and lonely since then."
"But, there have been many perks, as well." She paused, turning and looking over her shoulder to the paint splattered vixen whom she could daresay say she loved. She smiled at her brightly, trying to calm her nerves before addressing the Elder once more. "For instance, I never would’ve met Thea, the most wonderful vixen in the world if in my opinion only, had I not persuaded my sisters to visit a near-by camp fire for a nightly stroll. I never would’ve known half the things I do now, had it not been for that fateful night that I first saw the moon, and heard its whispering call."
"I know that my becoming apart of the Tribe is left to your disgression, so I shall leave it at that." She sat down and curled her tail around herself, feeling empty and anxious all at the same time. She had never let any other know so much about her, in such a many amount of words! She prayed that he wouldn’t mind.

Ari raised an eyebrow at Aara. She had implied she wouldn't speak for long, and then she had told him all of that. While the lives of his tribe members were of course of concern to him, that was too much, too fast.
But she was still young, and there was no reason to turn her away because of some silly whim of youth.
"No one said you had any fear of speaking before others. Unless you're referring to Ollure. She's a...special circumstance.
"In any case, you, as Rime, are welcome to stay for now. And if you fit into the life of the tribe, then, with Kazuki's permission, the both of you will be promoted to full members soon."
Ari looked around those gathered, trying to find who else needed to be attended to.

Kin'iro began the careful work of digging up the plant, trying not to damage the roots very much in the process. If they could have a little patch of herbs growing near the cave that would make things so much easier. In the future anyway. The golden vixen paused for a second at this thought, turning back to the other Shaman. "Nato, what are we going to do in the mean time? Even if we can successfully care for this plant, it'll be quite a while before it grows and multiplies enough to be of any use. Do you think there is anything else out here to be found?" Winter was always a rough time when it came to finding plant life.
