"How disappointing." Dash waves and heads towards town. He'd have to put some ice on his chin and nose to avoid any swelling to that pretty face of his. He really didn't expect to recieve so many blows, especially from this Diana person. Once again, his assumptions about size relative to strength was true.

Crystal Moon Dream
Meryl Tomorrow
It was a Tribal spell, taught to her by the Goddess Sif, the wife of Thor, also known as John Tomorrow, her adopted father. In the breif time Sif had lived with the Tomorrows she had trained Meryl in the ways of Tribal swordsmanship and Spiritual power, something Tomorrow did not know. Meryl had continued to dabble in her Spirit powers after Sif had left, even though her main powers were Water and Lightening elementals.
She continued to whisper gently, electricity sparking off her body softly as her fingers continued to draw in the air, the glyph slowly beginning to take form.
"Hum... Interesting... I can not say that I have seen a human try that sort of weaving in quite some time..."
The woman was just suddenly there, standing behind Meryl and gazing at the runic spell as if it was the most fascinating thing that she had ever seen. There was no sound before she spoke, no sense of movement, nothing to warn Morrow's daughter that she suddenly had company!
Shining black hair fell around the tall woman like an old fashioned cloak, and even her gown, was an odd enough style to look like something out of the medieval times. Black and blue velvet with a strange gold link chain belt, and a coiled green leather whip hanging on her left hip.
"Be careful that you do not charge it will too much power human... the man would be better off if you went slowly with him... his injuries appear to been grievous enough that you could put him into a state of shock if you rushed his recovery too much..." She tilted her head to the side slightly and the light shifted along that long black hair to reflect back deep blue and green highlights... like a ravens feathers... Icy blue eyes as cold as the grave itself made the slight smile on her face seem almost unnatural.

"And who said i was going to help him?" Meryl asked suddenly, her tone neutral as she ignored the newcomer, her fingers weaving within the circles, more complicated glyphs forming within the middle as the light forming the spell began to grow brighter, more strong with each second passing.

Finally drawing her hand back, she slammed her palm into the centre, the middle flashing forth a light which oozed into the myriad of moving glyphs enclircling the centre, Meryl's interuppted whispers growing louder into speech as she stood, her hands now unattached from the violently glowing glyph to walk over to the edge of the building, her fingers pressing together and drawing out some more strings of light to create another circle, her fingers weaving the second spell even as she walked.

As her first spell glowed brighter and brighter, pulsing with energy, it became clear that the three's surroundings were becoming...damper? If possible within the fog.

THe water misting on their clothes and armour were suddenly beading in large clumps, Meryl's voice growing louder as she added another ring to the circle before her, her Tribal voice loud and ominous in the dead lanugage - as the fog itself began to dissapaite and draw into the first glyph, a sudden rush of water coming in from all directions to contract into that one space. The water was becoming condensed as it all flew to that one spot, forming a fast-growing ball of liquid that ate away at the fog surrounding their entire area!

Soon all there had been left of the fog was nothing but a massive ball of water, undulating and heaving underneath the small dinner-plate sized power-circle, the circle pulsing more and more as Meryl's hands moved faster and faster, the glyph before her growing larger, more intricate, her words speeding to the point they were unintelligable (not that they had been before) -

- Before she suddenly gripped the sides of her glyph and pulled violently, the circle of energy suddenly widening as she resized it, before putting her fist into the centre of this one as well. This one began to shake and shudder, pulsing wildly, throwing off enough light to act almost like a beacon to anybody around them.

"Everybody get to the ground..." Meryl muttered, turning back to the two behind her to yank her sunglasses off, the leaf-green of her eyes replaced by the stark white of the electrical energy flashing over her body, lacing over her armour and off her fingertips and hair as more droplets of water oozed off her body to drip upwards into the ever-increasing ball, which was now beginning to draw liquid from the ocean.

"Things are gonna get wet."

"Perhaps another time you will tell me where you learned that little trick..." And with another slight smile the woman was gone... Just not there anymore!

Lady Sierra
*The demoness smiles and shrugs nonchalantly.*

"Sierra'est'a'ra'lian... Daughter of The High Councilman E'karis Ethel'stan, the most corrupt of the elves... A wasteful murderer. She is also the beloved Daughter of Lady Shay'llen'dria, a pure hearted healer and servant to Gaia. Conceived by bad and good... Sierra is a perfect vessle. She carries within her the balance of her kind. I needed to be reborn unto a daughter of Gaia who was pure of heart and soul, that she could house my taint and maintain that balance. She is goddess blessed, a child of flame and darkness. There are only three others in the history of the elves to bear the curse of Ancestors. All four girls, had to be perfect specimins to house each of the paired elements."

*Ra'kar runs her talon like nails down her sides and then holds her hands out in front of her, admiring the elf maiden's body for herself.*

"On top of that, her own individual potential and intelligence keeps me entertained... She is one I would call sister and equal."

"My, what double lives we lead. But then again I wasn't expecting anything less."

Walking forward, the horns long since receded into his head, he leaned forward and smiled at her.

"I was wondering how much longer I would have to wait....for you to wake. Now then.... Are you hugnry for power?"

The heartbeats increased.... deafening, throbbing. That phrase caught in my ear very strongly. And I got the horns. I was losing consciensness and it felt like I was enchanted by magic...Yes...magic.

Yellowed eyes took her in, staring as if within eternity itself.

And the winds were changing....threads of fate intertwining.

User Image *The demoness smiles, slow and calculating....*

"Oh, I've been awake this entire time... The thing about Sierra, is once she embraced me, we became more like one... Unless she's unconcious and I take possession of her vessel, she can see what I see... just as I could see what she saw when you brought her here."

*She tilts her head and laughs*

"And I prefer to think of my life as being enriched... I mean really? How many people get to consume two lifetimes of experience?"

*She stares back up at him, her own golden gaze burning brightly. Her slitted pupils narrow at him as she grins... the small and dainty fangs that were barely noticeable on Sierra had increased in length, looking almost vampiric as she gazed at him.*

"Now now Victor.... Of course I want power, but power comes at a cost, and the more power involved the higher the cost. Why don't you tell me just what it is you have in mind, I don't like walking into things blind."
PostPosted: Thu Oct 06, 2005 7:08 pm

"Why not an incentive then?" He moved forward, and to the side, now simply taking her all in at every angle. Yellowed eyes dulled as he smiled; a lion stalking it's prey.

"It must be very troublesome.... Having to always worry about being forced back into "slumber". I can help you stay "awake" longer.... my lovely Apostle. In exchange of course.... your cooperation, with the opening of the gates."

A hand lifted and took hold of her cheek, gripping softly, but also letting her epathetic abilities get a full dose of him. If there had been any doubt within the woman's mind... any thought that she didn't at all have to be concerned about Victor-- it would all vanish.

While it was true he played the gracious host, and was as warmhearted as could be.... deep down inside of him.... just like a certain someone else.... there lay a "Devil".

"We will use the power of the "Maiden" to guide the Elemental Layline...and destroy Destruction. To rewrite the future..... does it not excite you? You could be free.... oh so very free, like you were meant to be."

Victor's eyes softened, as he stared into Ra'kar's eyes. "Come with me, and by my side we will grab the reigns of Fate and hurtle this world toward a new beginning."

*Ra'kar'shei'lian drinks in the young man's appearance, inspecting him even as he inspects her, a mutual considering as her golden gaze trails over his body in a dancing caress.

While the demoness had felt a slight attraction towards Vahn, it was only because of the bond she shared with Sierra, the elf loved him so powerfully it would have been nearly impossible for her feelings not to taint Ra'kar's at least slightly.

And while Sierra disliked Victor, Ra'kar found him entertaining... he was definitely a pleasure to the eyes, and their thoughts seemed to be on a similar if not shared wavelength. She liked what he represented, and while Ra'kar had never understood the concept of love... lust was something that she grasped quite well.

As he grips her cheek with his hand, she smiles up at him, her eyes bright with amusement and flickering heat. He had piqued her curiosity, that was a start... most men bored her... Victor was different.

In her mind, she re-envisioned the last lines of his journal... She would like to meet this 'Fumei', the human that could teach a devil to love... or experience something like it.

What he offered her was tempting, but again... she cautioned herself... demon and devil kind look out for themselves... she had no illusions that this man wouldn't use her for everything she was worth to him and then cut her loose if it suited his purposes.

There was a second thing that she needed to consider before making her decision...*

"Just why is it you and yours are called 'Sinners' ... and what am I? An 'Apostle' ... I think if I am to join you... I need to know what my role is in this... and what it is we intend to destroy? What is 'Destruction'?"

Kraun
Silence. It cut through the destructive air like a sharp blade. There was no screaming, no laughing, no creak in the boards, no crash of the waves. And as short as it was, it seemed that everything had suddenly frozen, that all the chaos has ended. Until an explosion rocked the area and brought it back to reality.

And then it emerged, literally a streak of white, it's movements extremely fast. Like a giant spider made of bone, the abomination stood about 8' tall and 10' wide and long, it's large torso made up of a complex network of what looked like rib bones, pointed at the ends, jutted out at all places. It's eight legs however, were each 12' long and about 1' thick in diameter. It's head composed of a large basilisk's skull, flat and reptilian, its maw lined with rows of razor sharp teeth. And at it's end, a spiney tail thrashed about behind it.

Imagine, a spider about one centemetre in diameter, legs included, could move at a rate of 50 times its length per second, which would be close to the equivalent of this beast at full speed, currently moving at roughly 15 times its own size per second as it zipped down the open and empty street, smashing and crushing matter that stood in it's path. ((Thats 150 fps for those of you who are bad at math.))

Not only that, but as it did so, two of its long legs would reach out and scoop the knight and gypsie up onto its back, while the surrounding ghouls that were left instinctively lunged on and grabbed a hold of whateverlimb was passing by, large jutting pieces of bone supporting the people as to prevent them from falling off. One ghoul even managed to grab onto the flailing tail of the beast before it passed.

Now, it sped towards the temple, heading towards the mist like a beacon to the necromancer there, rallying the members of the cult together on the behemoth. Simply put, it happened so fast, from the mist to land, that normal people would not even have a glimpse of the blur as eveything seemed to disappear, if not for the path of destruction left in its wake.

What could be said? She turned her head to the right in the dead silence, and she back-flipped onto the beast as it barreled past them. She'd take this entire ride sitting down with her legs crossed, hands in her lap. Guess he though they'd taken enough time messing around on the docks as well.

"Just why is it you and yours are called 'Sinners' ... and what am I? An 'Apostle' ... I think if I am to join you... I need to know what my role is in this... and what it is we intend to destroy? What is 'Destruction'?"

"Sinner's.... My, that brings back memories." Victor smiled thoughtfully, as he moved towards an undamaged part of the veranda, discarding his bloodied clothes along the way.

Fiole silently had already set up a new table and seats for both Victor and the Mistress, now moving towards the beach and cleaning that up as well.

"Well....how shall I explain this in the best possible way." Slipping into the fresh dress shirt he had been handed, he sat himself down. The collar was upturned slightly, and buttoned only enough so that the top part of his chest could be somewhat seen, the cuffs of the shirt loose and baggy.

Atop the table, rested the same bauble that Victor had purchased a few days ago. He picked it up once more, with a smooth motion of his hand, and it began to glow much like it did before.

It was an odd little item...able to show images and thoughs from the subconscience, as well as consience of an individual, with but a mere thought; projecting them for anyone's viewing pleasure.

And so.... the images began as chaoticly mixed, words jumbled, landscapes changing.... until it finally adjusted... and like a movie reel...began.

"Nybelmar....We, sinners are always persued by those Murmillions from the "old world". Persuers from...Nybelmar.... my country. I eventually became the leader of these "sinners". However, I know what must be running through your mind. If we are called sinners, then there must be some kind of "sin", right?"

Victor's eyes closed as he settled against his chair.

"There was a war.... a very vicious war between two people. The Murmillions and the Zelandrians...both of whom lived on the Continent of Nybelmar. One side was born from the darkness...and the other light. You know how the old saying goes."

He waved his hand about. "However.....my brother and I....we had our disagreements with...our father. And our father..... we killed him, in battle. Flesh of my flesh...blood of my blood. He who we called "Draeger"... That's why killing him was unforgiveable. Us "sinners", the Murmillions who rebelled and joined with Zelandria, we will never be forgiven for carving into our bodies.....the karma which we cannot escape from. To atone for our sins with death....My brother's slaying of a 100 brethren and.... my....."

The images swirled into focused, as darkness ebbed away, and the light grew and grew.

"Stop!" The voice echoed throughout the chamber. "Stop it!"

A figure was seen bending forward, as both arms reached and clamped onto something that lay on the ground.

"Victor!"

Hearing his name being called, Victor paused, lifting his head up high enough to glance toward....Vahn.

"What's wrong? what's with that face of yours?" Victor was softly smiling, as blood dripped down his cheek. "Let's go now.To the free world."

Victor stood up from the platform, lifting a severed head with both hands, as he laughed. "Be happy. There's no one that will keep us in." The decapitated head bled continuously, as did the headless body to which it belonged to.

"See....? Father can't do anything." He held the head out to Vahn.

"You've killed him!? .....Draeger!?"

"We're free now." Victor said, outstretching his hand towards Vahn.

All around them, the commotion began to raise to a din, as soldiers finally began forcing their way inside, the other "sinners" fighting to keep them at bay.

"Let's go, Vahn. You're invovled too. I'm going to need your help." He kept his hand outstretched toward his brother. Even as dozens, upon dozens of soldiers began flooding the room they were in....and the images became blurry and lost once more.

The bauble ceased in it's glowing.

"My brother later had a change of heart....and as a result, everything was lost. Our paradise...couldn't be realized...and I was nearly killed. However, fate had other plans in store for me.... because I found myself adrift between dimensions. It was there that I met my benefactor...and that I learned of Destruction. Learned of the reason for my continued existence...as torturous as it is."

He looked off to the side, fingered the glass of wine that had been placed onto the table, at some point during his little story.

"Apostles....ones who can gain acess to the tremendous power of the planet itself, by using the four primary elements that make it up. that make it "whole", if you will. This tremendous amount of energy can only be found in one place.... the Elemental Leyline. You alone are the key to opening that doorway to the leyline for me. Or rather, your people are. However to get there....a guide is required. One that.... I have thoughtfully already aquired."

He smiled softly, as he looked towards the elven. "AllI have left to do is collect the remaining "Apostles"....and we can begin....and then...who knows?"

*Ra'kar seats herself, furling her wings in neatly, tucking them against her back. She spreads her skirts out about her and watches the 'show' as Victor broadcasts his memories through the tiny sphere. She looked very comfortable in her surroundings, like she belonged. It was as if the chair she lounged upon was a throne and she was queen. She just had that natural confidence and boldness about her.

She pays rapt attention, storing away the information as the images are reflected in her strange but enchanting eyes.

She was bemused by the simillarities in their pasts... Had she not stared down at the man who's seed brought about her host's existance, with that same smile, blood rivuleting down her face as his heart, bumped his life blood through the severed arteries? Had she not cradled the decapitated head as if it were a precious toy and laughed at the old man's stupidity?

The elemental guardians had been created to guard Gaia, keep her purity protected... And to defend the eleven race, who were ambassadors of the earth.

But they defiled her. They, like the other races.... polluted her! Drowned her in immortal blood!

The Guardian's would protect Gaia, they would avenge their mother.... Ra'kar smiled up at Victor as the images ceased.*

"Very well... I will help you save Gaia. I exist for no other purpose. Those who defile my mother, must be punished... the Earth needs to be cleansed."

((Consider these events ongoing, as -current-. I'll just fix whatever ******** upas I go along. ))

"Very well then--" Victor stood up, his right arm extended out towards the female. "--I will....make you into what you were meant to be. It's your turn to live...your turn to choose, and you've waited long enough."

The smile never left his face as he looked down upon the his newest....ally.

Fiole watched from the window within the kitchen, before turning away. Apparently the loss of her sight didn't bother her at all, or get in the way of anything she did.

A small tray was carried between her hands as she moved down the hallway, stopping at a closed door. "Mistress....?" Softly rapping once, she heard no answer, and opened the door.

Making her way into the room, she stared towards the bed, at the still form that lay asleep amongst the covers. Fiole moved forward, placing the tray onto the night stand beside the bed.

*Ra'kar smiles, rising to her feet from the chair she had been lounging on in one graceful movement, full of fluidity. She curtsies with that same ageless grace and then smiles up at her new comrade.*

"My thanks Victor dear... As long as what you have in store does not harm her or this beautiful body, I look forward to seeing what you can do. It has been far too long since I sniffed the air of freedom and stretched my wings freely."

*The demoness, while making pleasant, was focusing most of her attentions inwardly. Ra'kar had taken posession of the elf maiden's body during one of her weaker moments, but apparently Sierra's spell of sickness had passed and she was fighting with what little strength she had to recalim her body... And supressing such a willful and determined creature was no small task.*
