The attack wavered a bit as the Whirlwind blew with impressive force. Both Ken and Mismagius thought he might just have it, but the attack managed to power through and do it's damage. It was clear by the look in the avianoid Pokemon's eye that it was confused and Ken grinned, this was it! Or it would be in a real battle, this was when they would move in for the coup de grace. Or try to anyway. Ken contemplated what to do next, what was a good way to continue this friendly training session? "That was a good try, blowing it away with a whirl wind. An excellent strategy, good job Sigilyph. Remember that one, it'll surely come in handy. Flowing back something like a stun spore or sleep powder is wonderful, and other pokemon can do it, not just flying types. A good use of Psychic type moves does that as well, using an attack to stop hold and send it back. Of course, that takes a lot of mental strength and practice. I'd suggest practicing by throwing things like balls or small rocks at him and having him stop it." As Ken looked at Jae and his Sigilyph, he smiled, giving advice to a seasoned trainer felt so odd, but his instincts seemed to know what they were doing, and Sigilyph was a smart one as well. With that, Ken recalled his Mismagius, and started walking towards Jae, hands in hsi pockets. "That's enough for now I think. I've told you what you need to know, and you did very well. Serving up Confuse rays and bursting your attacks won't do you very well for much longer I don't think. I suggest you try training in Mt. Cornet for a while, it has many interesting pokemon as well as a peculiar psychic type that it might be fun to go head to head with. Training there may prove to be more fruitful than in the forest. But tactic wise, I think you've got Gardenia in the bag." He said with a chuckle, patting Jae on the back Jae was safe, and doing well. Ken was happy with that, it was time to go back to watching from afar. Plus, he had some of his own errands to run in Sinnoh. "I have something else I have to investigate. But I'm sure we'll meet again. We're friends now right? Take care." Ken gave Jae a big hug, then let him go, walking off without looking back. He would keep keeping tabs on the young man in secret, but for now he simply had to tell Rowan. As Ken walked away he dialed Rowan's lab, however there wasn't an answer, which wasn't unusual. "He must be in the field....I'll have to leave a message." When the machine beeped, Ken loooked back, he was far enough from Jae so he continued. "Rowan, it's meeee! Kenneth! I found my man, your Jake is indeed Jaeshan. And he's remembering! I didn't tell him a thing I promise. But I checked up on him and he remembered his name on his own. He know's he is Jaeshan, but that's it. His mind isn't fixed yet, but he's stable. And he's well, even his battle instincts are coming back ni force! I think it's time to begin the next phase. Getting him his old pokemon. That however, I leave to you as you said. Good luck, I'll be in touch. Once you have his pokemon I'll be ready to deliver them. Bye~!" Ken hung up and smiled, so muh to do and so little time.

It took a few minutes for the check up to be completed. During that time he simply watched as the young trainers outside battled in the small grassy field. It seemed like a grand old time was being had out there. Back and forth the battles went, and Kressen found himself longing to join them. Once Nurse Joy appeared with his team he all but ran out to join in the battle after thanking the nurse. She simply sighed knowing she'd probably be treating them again within a few minutes.
Once outside he joined a batch of a dozen or more youths as they watched a battle between a boy with his Caterpie versus a Spearow. Naturally, the Caterpie wasn't holding up to well. The barrage of fury attacks and pecks soon overwhelmed the poor Caterpie and sent it tumbling head over heels dazed forcing its trainer to recall it and admit defeat. "Alright Javelin! That's our third win of the day! Let's get number four." The spearow gave a hoot as it landed on the boys head. "Whose next?"
Who could pass up a challenge like that. Not Kressen. "I'll take you on kiddo." He reached for a pokeball and sent out Gigas to do battle with the Spearow. "I'll let you make the first move. Gigas and I are always ready. Isn't that right boy." Gigas belched embers in response and rolled his little arms to show he was warming up. "You asked for it. Javelin use fury attack!"
The Spearow flew at Gigas to initiate the attack. It seemed that the younger trainer and Kressen had some similar traits when it came to battling. Both started out with head on attacks. "Gigas intercept with ember!" The battle was going to be a good one with two hotheads going at it.

Zorua gave a squeal of delight as Pichu joined her, giggling as the little mouse's static caused her whole body to tingle. She would have tried to shove the electric type off her, had her body decided to cooperate. The paralysis was making it difficult, however, so she just lay there, giggling and twitching.
Jasper, meanwhile, stretched his arms up over his head until his back cracked with a satisfying pop, and he nodded. "Yeah, lunch sounds about right." He'd been so distracted by his gym match with Falkner and Ditto's depositing of them in the middle of Sprout Tower Lake that he'd forgotten all about food, and his stomach gave a rather convincing rumble of agreement. He looked over at Zorua and Pichu, chucking a bit at the sight of the little fox and her severely-hampered movements. "Perhaps a trip to the Pokemon Center, as well," he added.

Hayley's reaction was quite amusing, indeed. He had a feeling showing off his funky mutation would cause her to be more curious than cautious. "You know, I'm not really sure. I don't have a dedicated organ for it like they do, but it seems my blood reacts to the oxygen in the air. That's why if I get worked up I start kinda, ya know, smoldering. This is a pretty new development so I'm kinda learning as I go." Mike replied, laughing lightheartedly at the girl's question. "But annoyingly enough, yes. Water contacting with my skin is quite painful. I can take a Fire Blast to the chest, but you throw a ten year old with a super soaker at me and I will be one unhappy mutant." He produced his new Breloom-style umbrella and hid under it. His attention was snagged by Shocker's impromptu bath, which she was far from happy about, and tilted the umbrella in front of him to catch a few stray drops. "For example." he said, gesturing to the Raichu. "I don't even wanna know how that would feel." Even though the now present Vaporeon was probably the most dangerous Pokemon to him out of any he knew, Mike knelt down next to her and scratched her behind the ears. "Hello girl!" he cooed, rubbing the sweet little fox's cheeks and smiling as she flopped her large flipper-like ears. "You're so pretty!" Even though Mike had always preferred Flareon (I will wait for you all to recover from the shock), Ariel had always been welcome company to the boy.
Mike turned over and flopped on the ground beside the Vaporeon, looking up to the girl's as Kasi offered to help Hayley with her training. "Not the worst of ideas." he added. Mike looked over to the inquisitive Shocker, and felt a little bad because he knew that this wasn't going to be a battle she was going to be able to be in. "C'mon over here, Shocker." he said, patting the ground next to him, while continuing to pet Ariel. Well damn. Now he really wanted a Flareon.

".. I think you're right," Ben agreed as he called Pichu back over to him, the tiny electric pokemon walking over and letting the boy pick him up and place him on his shoulder. Pichu was feeling pretty weak, as well, not quite up to the long jump and climb up Ben's body that he usually made. "Let's go, then." Smiling, Ben rubbed Pichu's head affectionately, the pokemon's eyes glimmering with happiness. Ben couldn't help but be taken aback by the strange shine as Pichu rubbed his head in return into Ben's neck. Laughing a bit, he grinned slightly. "Wow, Pichu's feeling awfully snuggly today.. I wonder what's up with him?" A few more paces down the road and his eyes got drawn again toward the Pokemon, this time because of a sudden, bright light. Pichu's body was.. glowing? His pink cheek sacs were turning ultraviolet, and his tiny yellow body shining brightly and sending steady static waves across Ben's shoulders, making his hair stand on end. Suddenly, Ben felt the weight on his shoulder increase, Pichu's body growing and morphing. Ben stared in awe at his Pokemon... Pichu was evolving! After a moment, the bright light faded away, his brand new Pikachu looking up at him with bright and shining eyes. "Pii, Pikachu!" it cried in triumph, Ben's eyes welling up with happy tears as he held and clutched the Pokemon to his chest and laughed. "Wow, Pich-- Pikachu! That's so awesome, you evolved just for me!" Bouncing on his toes, he grinned happily at Jasper. "Look! See what happened? This is so cool!" He couldn't believe it. His grandpa was right! And That means that Ben had been a good enough Trainer to make it happen. He couldn't wait to call his folks!

Before, a certain kind of anxious dread had set his heart pounding as he headed toward the gym in Violet City; this time around, a thrilling excitement had Jett's hands almost shaking as he headed out into the already-muggy Azalea morning. His team was all healed up, and he had complete faith in Athena and Aerosmith. It was too bad River was weak towards Bug-types, but if it came down to a three-on-three match, Jett could try to use Naja and see how well it turned out. From his experiences with Aerosmith, he knew not to underestimate Bug-type Pokemon.
His redheaded companion, Scarlet, told him that he wanted to go off alone for some last-minute training, or perhaps for a rousing pep-talk with his team. Jett had parted ways with the other boy and found himself once again alone, but this time unafraid. He screwed up plenty of times already, and had embarrassed himself in more ways than one, but that wasn't going to happen to him here. The young boy held his head high, fists clenching and unclenching at his sides. Very few of the other people out at this time of day paid him any attention, and any that did only noted the apparent direction he was headed in and chuckled to themselves. Being only the second gym in the region, there must be plenty of other nervous, still inexperienced trainers who challenged the leader here.
As he crossed the relatively small town, Jett thought about his brothers and his sister. At least one of them must have this badge, he thought. He would have it soon, too, and at a far younger than any of them had gotten their second badge. The thought made him grin ruefully. All the more eager to battle, Jett strode into the gym, taking a deep breath before calling out, "I'm looking for Bugsy!" After a hesitant pause, he took another step forward and the doors closed behind him. "My name is Jett Forrest and I'm here to challenge you."

Oh, Amethyst Maple thought faintly, this is embarrassing. Just moments ago, she had barged into the Vermilion City Gym and loudly demanded a battle from its leader, Lt. Surge. Little did she know, the gym leader was out at the moment. The rest of the gym -- trainers ranging in appearance from older gentlemen to electricians -- looked at her curiously. Finally, one older gentleman piped up.
"Lt. Surge is out at the moment," he said kindly. "I'm afraid you'll have to wait." Amy opened her mouth to speak, but found no words to say. Her face began to redden. "Besides," the gentleman said, taking a step forward, "you have yet to complete the gym challenge." He gestured with a grand sweep of his arm toward... trash bins? "Battling us and finding the correct bins with the switches inside is the only way to reach the gym leader here, ma'am. Would you like to battle?" Already, he was taking his stance, giving her a wide berth for their Pokemon.
"Y-yes...?" So much was happening at once, none of which Amy had anticipated nor prepared for in the slightest. The gentleman's brow quirked. "Oh, I -- yes!" She bobbed her head and took a step back, figuring that some practice battles couldn't hurt her. "I'd like to battle!" She immediately thought to use Marshall, but then remembered she still had Lee to train with. Then she remembered her more recently-caught Pokemon, and as the old man sent out a cute Pikachu, she thought it oddly fitting. "Let's see what you can do!" A cat to play with the mouse. Amy had never battled with the Meowth before, nor had she even nicknamed him. She had meant to do both during her earlier battle with Karrigan, but then all of that egg business had thrown her for a loop. The Scratch Cat Pokemon looked back at her warily, letting out a low, almost whiny Meoooowth. "Come on, this is your debut!" Amy urged, trying to think of a nice name. Her opponent chuckled.
"I hope you know that I don't plan on holding back!" he called, and then ordered for a Quick Attack. Already, the yellow mouse was becoming a blur as Meowth yowled impatiently, not wanting to fight at the moment. Oh no, Amy thought, instinctively flinching as the attack made contact, sending her cat tumbling away. Meowth emitted a surprisingly low growl as he righted himself, claws bared.
"All right, Castamere!" Amy cried encouragingly. "That's the spirit!" And then she remembered that she didn't know any of his attacks. She fumbled for her Pokedex, quickly scanning the list of available moves while the gentleman grew more and more impatient. "U-um, use your... Fury Swipes attack!" Castamere, as he was now dubbed without objection, leapt upon the Mouse Pokemon, swiping his sharp claws across the Mouse Pokemon's face, leaving angry, red marks in his wake. Pikachu squeaked unhappily and darted away before Castamere could attack again. Amy kept her Pokedex at hand, now trying to put all of her focus into the battle itself.

After the rest of their venture through the woods with minimal stress, Jade had decided to part ways with Jake once they reached the comparatively busy Eterna City. She wasn't sure why she had wanted to do it, but she did it anyways. As she watched him go, she felt a sharp pang of loneliness and regret, but ignored it. Things would be better for her alone, anyways. He wouldn't have to worry about her, and vice versa. That loneliness was almost comfortingly simple, in a way.
Ever since then, Jade had kept close to Eterna City, occassionally making a visit back to the outskirts of the forest or the small bit of route connecting the two. She often thought to challenge the leader, but somehow never got around to it. Instead, Jade let the full weight of her running away crash upon her and hid in the Pokecenter for a solid day, half of it spent sleeping and the other spent laying in bed, thinking, save for those times in which she and her Pokemon had to eat. Her Cottonee, whom she had named Chloris, seemed content with this way of spending time, as did Aquarius, but whenever she let out Solaris or Cirrus, they yowled or whined or did something equally annoying. When the sun set on that lazy, introspective day, her Vulpix looked at her incredulously. If only the fox had been given the power of speech. Even without it, Jade could hear the disbelief. What the hell are you doing, just laying there? Get up! She simply rolled over and fell back asleep.
When morning came, however, her team would not let this kind of behavior go unpunished. The dark-haired girl awoke to a Vulpix standing on her stomach before it leapt up and landed back down, hard. Jade cried out, and instinctively knocked the Fire-type off the bed, the two glaring at each other. It was as if Solaris had known her much longer than she actually had; the Fox Pokemon seemed to read her like a book. "Shut up," she grumbled, wanting to go back to sleep for perhaps an eternity. She felt more stares at her back; everyone but Chloris seemed concerned. "Fine, fine. I'm getting up, you hear me? We'll go out today and do something, I promise." She got up and stretched her aching muscles, groaning. "Behave yourselves." She was in desperate need of a shower. Jade closed the door carefully and went in search of a bathroom. Oh, well, the girl thought as she found it, a runaway's got to keep moving, right?

Keegan's preemptive defending of his hearing was highly justified, as even with his palms pressed firmly over his ears, Sheena's shrieks of delight upon seeing the fully-grown Ninetales still rang through loud and clear, causing the redhead to wince painfully. Helios, meanwhile, simply glared at the girl, three of his tails twitching in annoyance even as she threw her arms around him and hugged him. "Yeah, about Helios," Keegan said, checking his hands as he was once again sure his ears were bleeding, "Helios isn't so little anymore. He's a Ninetales now." The fox preened at the comment, even while being squeezed halfway to death by the overly-excited pink-haired girl.
"Oh Keegan! He's so beautiful!" Sheena cooed, her voice slightly muffled by the fox's fur. "I just love him so much!" She continued to hug the poor Ninetales, who was looking like he was enjoying Sheena's affections less and less, and soon he'd started squirming in a desperate attempt to get away from her. "I know! How about we make a trade? Helios for Boris! What do think about that?" she asked, obviously not serious. Serious or not, however, the glare Keegan gave her was nothing short of utter hostility, and it was only matched by the incredulous look Helios now wore. "Relax, I'm just kidding," she said quickly, finally relinquishing her grip on Helios as the fox's low growl had served as enough of a warning. "I'd never, ever, EVER ask that of you guys. C'mon, you should know better!"
While Helios' glare softened rather quickly (really, he just wanted to be petted more by the pretty young girl), Keegan's took a bit longer, and he leaned back in his chair and exhaled sharply through his nose. "It's not funny, okay?" he said, prompting a quick nod from the pink-haired girl. He was aware that she was genuinely sorry, as she'd witnessed first-hand that horrible day when her elder sister showed up at the Summers' residence and demanded they hand over the Vulpix she'd seemingly forgotten about. The redhead clenched his teeth as he thought of the snooty Sheridan, unable to quell the surge of anger that suddenly caused his blood to boil. Feeling as though he may put his fist through the computer screen, he logged out and stood up, pushing past Sheena and Helios as he headed outside of the Pokemon Center.
"Wh-where are you going?" Sheena called after him. Helios gave a bark of inquiry as well.
"Outside," the redhead snapped, not bothering to look back. He figured that it wouldn't be long before Sheena and Helios followed him anyway, but that didn't stop him from walking right out to the street and plunking himself down on the curb. He didn't hesitate to withdraw and light a cigarette, despite the disapproving glare he received from a woman walking by with her small child. ===== "Back to Johto?" Miharu repeated, the ship having docked in Castelia City and now she, Karrigan and Damien were filing, along with the other passengers, down the boarding ramp and off the ship. "I-I don't think so. I mean... I don't really want to... I just... no. I think I'm going to stay here in C-Cas-Castelia for a while and f-figure things out." Being surrounded by so many strangers had the poor girl in a mild state of panic, but as long as she stuck close to Karrigan and Damien, the anxiety was manageable. She'd also retrieved what was left of her belongings from the infirmary where she'd been staying, as she'd been officially discharged by the ship's doctor. Her head wound, despite how much it had bled, had been superficial and her other injuries had been minor scrapes and bruises - nothing that wouldn't heal over the next few days.
As the newly-formed trio took their first steps into Unova, Miharu looked around anxiously, more or less glued to Karrigan's hip. It wasn't long before she spotted the Captain, accompanied by a uniformed police officer. He nodded at the girl when she saw him, and Miharu knew that she'd have to go with said officer to give her statement. "W-would you guys come with me?" she asked meekly, green eyes downcast as she spoke. "I-I don't want to be alone..." ===== Damien spent most of the walk off the ship attempting to guard his steadily-moving egg from other passengers, as most were far too concerned with getting off the dreadful vessel to realize they were bumping into other people. "Watch where you're going," the dark-haired youth growled as an impatient young man with unruly brown hair shoved past him, nearly causing Damien to drop the egg. He actually fell behind Karrigan and Miharu a few times, but it wasn't hard to spot the red and green-haired girls among the crowd.
He'd missed the majority of the conversation, but when he saw the police officer and the smartly-dressed man he assumed to be the captain, one quick glance to Miharu was enough to catch him up on what he'd missed. "Yeah, sure, why not," he answered, looking to Karrigan for her answer. It wasn't like he was on a tight schedule or anything, and though he normally chose to avoid other people like the plague, he felt almost obligated to go along with her.

The paralysis-ridden Zorua could only whine sadly as her playmate was scooped up by his trainer, and she looked up at Jasper with wide, imploring eyes. "All right, all right," the boy sighed, adjusting his bandanna slightly before picking up the little fox and setting her on his shoulder. Her body still wasn't quite cooperating, however, so she started to fall, only to be caught by a chortling Jasper. "What? I forgot you were paralyzed," he replied in response to the hurt look Zorua gave him and he shuffled her to his arms.
Both Zorua and Jasper stared, however, as suddenly the little Pichu was feeling awfully affectionate, and within a matter of seconds, the little mouse was a little less... little. "Hey, that's awesome, congratulations, guys!" Jasper said, nodding in approval at the sight of the newly-evolved Pikachu. Zorua, meanwhile, was staring at the mouse with obvious jealousy. She'd witnessed two evolutions now, and she twitched an ear in anticipation. Would she evolve someday, too?
Jasper, meanwhile, wasn't even thinking about the future and possible evolutions of his own Pokemon as he was far too concerned with what he'd be filling his grouchy stomach with. "So you've got yourself a Pikachu now," he said, keeping up the conversation as they made the short walk back to the Pokemon Center - the red roof of possibly the most sought-after building in any town quickly coming into view, "may I ask what other Pokemon you have?" * * * * * * * * * * The rate at which Kasiya's ice cream disappeared (and subsequently Mike's, as well) was somewhat alarming, and it spurred Hayley into eating hers a little faster, as she didn't want to hold the other two trainers up (not that she even needed to worry about that). It was hard not to laugh at the Raichu and her sticky predicament, but Kasiya had a solution for that. In no time at all her lovely Vaporeon had given the already-unhappy mouse a cold shower.
The brunette smiled as she finished her banana split, now watching as Mike gave attention to Kasiya's two Pokemon. She nodded eagerly at the mention of getting some training in before facing Brock, and she felt a small pang of anxiety start to poke at the pit of her stomach. "Yes, I would like that very much," she said, carefully wiping her mouth with one of the few napkins that had not been used to make a Papier-mâché Shocker, and she disposed of the now-empty plastic bowl. Turning back to the two experienced trainers, she folded her hands neatly in front of her. She'd never actually trained with others before, so she wasn't quite sure how to proceed. "So, um, what exactly are we going to do?" she asked quietly.

"Pikachu, use Thundershock!" the older gentleman called, and the yellow mouse reared itself back before loosing a bolt of electricity at Castamere. Unfortunately for him, he didn't move fast enough, and was struck, letting out a yowl of pain and backing away slowly. While she wasn't all that savvy when it came to battles like these, Amy knew that this was much to her disadvantage: all of the attacks Meowth learned by Castamere's level were physical. Keeping Pikachu away was a smart idea.
"Um..." Should she go on the offensive? She didn't know what she was risking by sending the Normal-type in close proximity with that disarmingly-cute Pikachu. Amy shifted weight from one foot to the other, glancing again at the screen if only for a brief moment. "Screech?" she suggested unhelpfully, and Castamere tossed an indignant look over his shoulder before he inhaled, shrieking like a banshee. The noise seemed to startle Pikachu, making both it and its trainer waver before he ordered for a Thunder Wave. The Mouse Pokemon was happy to comply, fur bristling as it releasing a burst of static electricity toward its opponent.
"O-okay, uh," she began, looking at the list and picking almost at random, "dodge it and use Bite!" That could work! She wasn't sure what was getting her all flustered; maybe it was her inexperience at battling with Castamere. You'll have to get over that quickly, Amy reminded herself as she watched the Scratch Cat Pokemon leap out of the way of the static burst, baring his (relatively tiny) fangs in a predatory grin as he closed in upon Pikachu.

Jade quickly took to the warmth of the shower, washing the dirt and grime of the past few days off of her. As she showered, she began to plan out what she could do today. Her thoughts returned to the Eterna City Gym, which specialized in Grass-types specifically. If she challenged it, her only real assets would be Solaris and Cirrus -- while Solaris could be trusted, that pesky Shinx didn't have any discipline. She ought to train him more, and maybe train Aquarius and Chloris while she was at it, even though neither would be helpful with Grass-types. All she could think of at the moment was how far the winnings from a victorious gym battle could send her.
After drying off and getting dressed, Jade set off back towards her room with a set plan in mind: get stronger. That was all she could do from here, right? "All right, everyone," she called loudly as soon as she stepped into her room, breaking up a minor squabble between Solaris and Cirrus. All four Pokemon turned towards her, curiously. "No nonsense today. Let's get some serious training done." When she said no nonsense, she looked pointedly at the Flash Pokemon, who seemed all too pleased with the notion of training. Ignoring that almost malicious glint in the cat's eye, she recalled the four of them into their Pokeballs and headed out into the lobby, now in search of the cafeteria.
The place was kind of small, but the food smelled amazing and Jade piled her plate high and then collected four bowls filled with sustenance for her team. She released them all at once, picking out a sparse corner while the rest of the cafeteria seemed to bustle with a morning rush. As her Pokemon ate, they seemed to draw their own battle lines: Solaris and Cirrus were already eyeing each other's bowls, whereas Chloris ate her fill and contentedly rested upon the still-snacking Aquarius' head. The dark-haired girl kept a close eye on the four of them, a light frown creasing her lips. She kept trying to think of new training methods, but coming up with nothing. I guess I could just go to the southern route and find some wild Pokemon to battle there, she thought. Or there's Eterna Forest... Jade dug into her breakfast, thinking on the matter, completely unaware of the attention she had drawn from across the room.

Ben smiled as Pikachu climbed up to ride out the walk on top of his hat, glancing up to Jasper at his question? "Huh? Oh, I've got a Pidgey. I've had him for a little while, and he's been doing really well. He recently learned his Gust attack." Grinning slightly, Ben reached the PokeCenter and walked up to the desk, dropping off his two Pokemon before heading toward the lounge to wait for Jasper. His stomach was really rumbling, too, and he'd eat just about anything. "What about you?" he asked the older boy curiously. If he'd already beaten the Gym here, he figured that he must have some pretty good Pokemon with him.

Kasiya giggled as Mike hid beneath his Breloom umbrella. "Like I said, could have been a Hydro Pump." She gathered her empty dishes as well, realizing she'd have to take the ceramic bowl back inside. She thought about telling her two Pokemon to behave, but Ariel was currently busy lapping up attention from her trainer's boyfriend, and soon the still-damp mouse had plodded over as well, very nearly muscling Ariel out of the way so she could be the absolute center of attention. Kasiya smiled weakly as she entered the ice cream shop, wondering if perhaps the Raichu could do a bit of training with Casimir, as the Absol was easily a better sparring partner than the Vaporeon. She also thought of the real reason they'd come to Pewter in the first place, before being sidetracked by their run-ins with Riza and Hayley, and idly the blonde wondered where the dark-haired girl had gotten to as she set the bowls on the counter, receiving a thankful nod in reply.
Right, the museum, she thought, stopping a few steps away from the door, her gaze drifting up to the scuffed bronze bell that jingled pleasantly whenever someone entered the shop. Her brow creased into a slight frown at the thought of it; as supportive as she was of Mike's intent to study up on the cute but quirky little Omanyte, she knew she'd be bored to tears in a matter of moments. Then again, she'd agreed to help Hayley train for her upcoming gym battle, and Kasiya smiled a little - if there was a way to make everyone happy, she'd certainly find it. She perked up again as she rejoined Mike and Hayley outside, the latter of the two having finally finished up her ice cream as well. "I figure a practice battle or two is exactly what you need," she replied cheerfully, nodding at the brunette. "Especially if you know what Pokemon you'd like to use in the gym match."
She then looked back over to Mike, sighing a little at the sight of her two attention-hogging Pokemon. "Okay you two, shove over! Girlfriend coming through, shoo!" Reluctantly, the Vaporeon and Raichu did as told; Shocker deciding to start a small game of tag with Ariel as a result. Kasiya draped her arms lovingly around the brown-haired boy, wondering if she'd have to do any sweet-talking to get him to make his visit to the museum solo. "Did you still wanna go to the museum?" she asked, making her voice sound casual. "If so, you can go ahead. Hayley and I will be fine on our own. We're big girls, we can take care of ourselves," she added, straightening up so that she could flex and show off her "muscles". When that didn't work, she leaned in and planted a series of kisses on his cheek. "Go on, get out of here and go learn something. Nerd," she added playfully, causing Shocker to stop in her tracks from giggles, only to be plowed into from behind by Ariel.
"So then," Kasiya continued once Mike was on his way to higher knowledge, turning to Hayley with a wide smile of her own, "which Pokemon are you going to use? Aside from your Snivy, obviously." She plucked Alphonse and Pepper's Pokeballs from her belt, quite glad that the upcoming training session would be beneficial to her Pokemon, as well.
=-=-=-=-= To be quite honest, Jaeshan was quite unprepared for Kevin/Ken's sudden departure, though he did take all the advice he'd been given to heart. He'd already gained quite a bit of insight into Sigilyph's strengths, and it was quite impressive just how tough the Psychic/Flying-type had already grown. If he didn't know any better, Jae would even go so far as to think that Sigilyph was growing in strength faster than any of his other Pokemon had, at least up to this point. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew to recall Sigilyph into his Pokeball for a brief moment, as it would erase the confusion, and as he re-released the Avianoid Pokemon, he also let out Magnemite, figuring the Electric-type could use some training as well.
Unfortunately, Magnemite didn't seem to grasp the concept of 'training' very well, as before Jaeshan could even order a Calm Mind, the Magnet Pokemon had taken its newly-learned Thunderbolt for a test drive. While the initial strike didn't quite knock Sigilyph out, it had left him paralyzed and he drifted to the ground weakly. The unruly magnet then turned to his trainer, but before he could suffer yet another round of electrocution for that day, Jae recalled him, apologizing profusely to Sigilyph before recalling him, as well. Jaeshan grumbled to himself as he returned to the Pokemon Center, fully irritated with Magnemite yet at the same time making himself chuckle over the thought of the Pokemon having a screw loose.
Kevin had been right about staying in close proximity to the Pokemon Center, as it took less than thirty seconds for him to enter, quickly turning over both Magnemite and Sigilyph's Pokeballs to the ever-cheerful nurse. He checked the time on the wall, letting out a quiet sigh when he saw just how late it was. Much of the day had been spent nearly getting himself killed in the Old Chateau, after all. When his Pokemon were returned to him, he managed to scavenge up a few leftovers from the cafeteria, namely some questionable sandwiches and sorry-looking fruit, but no one in his party seemed to mind. Wisely, he left Magnemite in his Pokeball, figuring the Magnet Pokemon'd had enough fun for one day, though it was pleasing to see that Grotle and Bibarel seemed to be getting along with one another, at least for now. When they were finished eating, Jaeshan got himself a room for the night, collapsing into bed after stripping down to his boxers, and despite just how much his body was aching, he managed to fall asleep relatively quickly.
=-=-=-=-= Karrigan listened patiently to the younger girl as she spoke, not at all surprised to hear that she did not want to return home to Johto. Not that Karrigan could blame her, really - she'd probably feel the same way if she'd been through what Miharu had. She'd also noticed that Miharu had become rather reluctant to leave her side since they'd finished their little training session but that didn't bother her either - she could recall reading something about victims of trauma bonding or 'imprinting' on a single person after their ordeals. "Don't worry," she told the green-haired girl as they touched their feet down on solid ground, looking around to see that Damien had been shuffled behind them in the rush of people. "I'm sure we'll figure something out."
She too spotted the Captain and the police officer, and she placed a reassuring hand on Miharu's shoulder. "Of course we will," she said, making brief eye contact with Damien before urging the girl forward. "I'd like to think we're all friends now; of course we'll go with you."

Even though he was literally just explaining to Hayley about his aversion to water, the other half of his brain not connected to the parts that made him intelligent invited the wet electric mouse closer to him. He immediately regretted the decision, but reacted quickly by pulling his sleeves over his hands and lightly patting Shocker so that the water didn't soak in too much. There was a tremendous irony in him preferring to pet the Vaporeon, even if it was due to specific circumstances. By the time Mike looked up, Kasi had already brought the dishes in and come back out. "You didn't need to do that." he said, feeling a bit guilty, though it didn't last long.
Mike threw his arms out, beaming as Kasiya came over and claimed him as her own. He leaned against her, a dopey, infatuated expression widening his features. He wasn't surprised or upset in the slightest that Kasiya was trying to dodge out of going to the museum, but that didn't mean he couldn't fake it just a little bit to get some kisses out of the deal. It worked both ways, after all. "I dunno~" he squeezed Kasiya's not-so-bulging biceps, not entirely convinced. Then came the alternate means of persuasion. Alternate of course being a synonym for 'better', in this case. "Okay, I guess I can manage the trip by myself." Mike swooned, giving her some kisses in return. "Nerd? Hey! I'm no-" He raised a finger in protest, but then again, he did have the periodic table as his wallpaper in his room. And he did name his Chairzard 'Nitrogen Isotope'. And Xanthos was a tweek on the Xanthidae family of crustaceans and aw dammit he was the textbook definition of one. "...yeah." Mike slumped his shoulders. "You got me. I'm gonna go be a nerd and do nerd stuff." He stood up, waved to Hayley and then dragged himself off in the general direction of the museum, only straightening his posture when he was out of eyesight. He smirked, quite pleased with his little display. He knew they would be fine on their own. "Alright, now where is this nerdy place?" he said, pulling out his PokeNav.

A stream of French cusses and pink hair tore across Celadon City in hot pursuit of her hat, most of which thankfully drowned out by the sound of revving motorcycles in the distance. Sure, she could buy literally thousands of them and still have some allowance left, but it was the principle of the matter! Nature wasn't going to make her look (more) like a fool! However, even with her more constricting clothing, one thing making her look the opposite of foolish was gravity, and you know exactly how. Perverts.
The tenacity of this wind seemed almost deliberate, as it would always seem to float down within reach then shoot off back into the air when she grabbed for it. "Fine. I just won't chase you anymore. How do you like z'hat?" she said...to the hat, crossing her arms and letting out an annoyed 'Hmph!'. Offended, the accessory slowly wafted to the ground and inched closer to her. When it was all but brushing up against her leg, Sasha shouted in triumph and raised her foot, hoping to pin it underneath her heel. Nope. With another infuriatingly evasive maneuver, the beret flew off again, Sasha once again in hot pursuit. This continued for longer than it should have, with no bystanders offering to help whatsoever as Sasha screamed and flailed across the city. So much for chivalry. When she had just about run as much as she could have in her boots, the hat plopped unceremoniously beside the fountain in front of the department store. Sasha leaned forward to catch her breath, panting in complete exhaustion, her eyes not leaving the now motionless beret. Carefully she crept up to it, like a Meowth stalking an early morning snack. Her nails were even bared, to complete the simile. With one last lunge, Sasha once again grabbed only air, the hat plucked from her by an unseen force. She stumbled, trying her best not to fall into the fountain, but was saved from a watery fate when a meaty hand grabbed her wrist.
"Well well well." a low voice said tauntingly. "Look who we have here, running into us again." Sasha turned around, coming face to face with a familiar bald biker and his merry band of goons. "It must be fate." Isaiah continued, flashing what he thought was an attractive smirk her way.
Sasha looked past the wall that fancied himself a man to an unfamiliar looking Pokemon. It looked similar to a Gardevoir, but had sharper features, bladed arms, and a helmet straight out of a history book. It also appeared to be tossing around her beret in a suspiciously similar manner as the so-called wind had been doing, flicking its wrist as the hat danced in the air to its command.
Sasha locked eyes with Isaiah, who was still smiling, and snarled.

Jasper wore a knowing smile of his own as he watched the Pikachu perch itself atop Ben's head, shuffling Zorua in his arms as she'd started to get a bit sleepy. Not being able to move must have been quite tiring. 'He recently learned his Gust attack,' Jasper repeated mentally, unable to stop himself from grinning like an idiot. This kid and his young Pokemon were so utterly adorable and precious, it was almost painful.
Jasper returned Zorua to her Pokeball before he dropped her off for treatment as well, following a ways behind the younger trainer. He chuckled a bit as Ben inquired about his Pokemon, scratching the back of his head somewhat apprehensively. "Well, aside from Zorua, I have a Koffing and a Paras, but they're not really the best Pokemon for social situations." He wasn't exaggerating, either, as he was more than certain that Paras would practically die of fright, while he had no real idea how Koffing would react to a new person - probably by filling the entire Pokemon Center with noxious gases, he'd be willing to wager. "I've also got this one," he said, taking Croconaw's Pokeball from his belt and releasing the gator. "I can assure you that this Croconaw, well, she is the real thing." The water type eyed the boy in front of her for a moment or so before deciding he was friendly, and she gave him a toothy grin. Lastly, he held up Ditto's Pokeball, smiling fondly as he released the Transform Pokemon.
The blue blob appeared in a flash of light, accented by a few sparkles, bobbing up and down and looking rather pleased with itself, as per the norm. "This here's Ditto. He's been my best friend for years and years now, and I really don't know what I'd do without him." Ditto looked up at Jasper and smiled hugely. It seemed his previous transgressions had been forgiven, at least for now. * * * * * * * * * * Hayley wasn't sure just why, but she suddenly felt a little nervous at the prospect of working with some more experienced trainers. Her gaze kept drifting back to the Vaporeon and Raichu, wondering if her Pokemon would ever be that strong. At this point, she couldn't even imagine Kaylee as a Raichu, though to be fair, she'd only just captured the Pikachu earlier that morning. She nodded as Kasiya suggested practice battles, even if she hadn't had much luck with those, either. Yesterday Ivy had been bested by Kressen's Pawniard, and she was quite sure the Snivy hadn't forgotten about it.
She perked up at the mention of the museum, but her enthusiasm was quickly cut short as it became apparent that she and Kasiya would be staying behind. It was hard not to smile at the couple's adorable antics, however, and Hayley sighed, realizing that there'd be plenty of time to scope out said museum once she'd (hopefully) won her first badge. She returned Mike's wave, standing there a bit uncertainly before looking back to Kasiya again. "Yes, Ivy for sure," she agreed, touching the Snivy's Pokeball with her fingertips. She went over the others in her mind, already hyper-aware of Kaylee's blatant disadvantage, and Mya's too, for that matter. That really only left her with Cynder, Tisyphone and Ivy. Her Charmeleon would be at a disadvantage, but he did have Smokescreen and Dragon Rage at his disposal and both of those moves were rather reliable. The only move that would be beneficial for the Nidoran, unfortunately, was her Double Kick, and she wasn't exactly bursting with Warrior Princess spirit, either.
"These ones," she said finally, releasing the aforementioned Cynder, Tisyphone and of course, Ivy, and though they wouldn't likely see battle any time soon, she also let Mya and Kaylee out, as it couldn't hurt for the two to spectate and perhaps learn a thing or two. "Ivy, since you're our Ace for this gym match, you're up first, okay?" The Snivy yawned and shrugged, apparently not caring either way, but she got herself ready regardless. She still wasn't quite sure what her trainer meant by 'gym match', but she intended to try her hardest; if anything, just to show up that annoying brat of a Pikachu.

Considering that she'd never even really trained with Pepper before, Kasiya figured that now was as good a time as any to scope out the Minccino's available moves as Hayley seemed to be temporarily busy contemplating her own Pokemon. The blonde frowned a little when all she came up with was Pound, Growl, Helping Hand and Tickle (and of course the Attract she'd taught her earlier). Pepper was in need of some serious training herself, as Kasiya was fairly certain that each of Hayley's Pokemon was at least somewhat more experienced than the fluffy little Chinchilla.
Seeing that the two girls were about to get started, Ariel and Shocker had made their way back over, and Kasiya slowly released her four other Pokemon. She put Pepper with Ariel before kneeling down beside Shocker and Casimir. "You guys can do a bit of training on your own, if you want. I know Shocker's eager to get some battling in, and you're easily the best partner for her right now," she told the Absol. Casimir stared back at the girl indifferently, but he did seem to agree with that plan, nodding slowly before turning that same gaze on the Raichu. Sparks flared from Shocker's cheeks and she punched the air, clearly ready get back into the swing of things. Kasiya could almost swear that she saw the Absol grinning a little as the Dark and Electric-types distanced themselves from the others. Just don't overdo it, Shocker, Kasiya thought, still a little worried for the Raichu's overall health.
So Charmeleon, Nidoran and Snivy, Kasiya thought as Hayley lined up her Pokemon, easily agreeing with the brunette's choices as the two mice would have quite a hard time against Brock. She looked between Zaira and Alphonse, not quite sure which of the two she should send first, but the Piplup made the decision for her, puffing out his chest as he proudly strolled out to meet the Snivy. "Pip! Lup! Piplup!" the little Penguin announced, now smacking his tiny flipper against his chest in what could likely be taken as some sort of challenge. Kasiya laughed at the little water bird and his ego, giving the nod to Hayley to make the first move.
=-=-=-=-= Despite just how quickly and easily he'd initially fallen asleep, Jaeshan found himself to be waking up virtually every hour, on the hour, and always after a dream, every one of which was wildly vivid yet infuriatingly vague. The most memorable of those annoying dreams were of things that seemed highly improbable, like finding a giant, colourful painting at the bottom of a hole in a cave, kickboxing fire chickens and turtles that couldn't swim. He also recalled what felt like dozens of faces, all calling out to him but none of which seemed familiar in the slightest. When he finally awoke for the last time the following morning, or at the very least, a somewhat-reasonable time, Jaeshan felt almost as tired as he had the night before, and to add some insult to his injuries, his body was even more achy and sore than before, as well.
He very nearly had to literally roll out of bed, eventually forcing himself to an awkward sitting position. He reasoned that the best thing for him would be a hot shower to help loosen his stiff muscles and joints, and as he sought out the showers, he silently wondered if he'd actually slept for years and years rather than a few broken hours the night before - if he had to guess his age right now, he'd probably place it at around seventy, and that was being polite. The steamy, hot water did wonders to relax him, and as Jaeshan washed his hair and scrubbed the rest of him down, he went over the advice that Kevin had given to him the evening before. Using Sigilyph's Whirlwind to blow back attacks seemed like an ingenious idea, and he intended to work on that, but what was that place Kevin had suggested they train at? Mount Circlet, or something like that? He couldn't quite remember, but he was sure if he asked around, someone was bound to know.
He lingered in the shower a little longer before getting out and drying himself off, and he definitely felt a little better and a little more awake as he got himself dressed. He futilely tried to comb his ridiculously pointy hair for about ten minutes before giving up on it, and he sighed and gave himself a final once-over in the mirror as he pulled on his aviator jacket. "My name's Jaeshan," he murmured to himself, wishing he still wasn't drawing a blank when it came to his last name. Having his first name back was something, at least, and his stomach gave a painful groan of protest, reminding him it was time for breakfast and to start another day.
He easily followed his nose to the cafeteria, realizing he was craving something with protein in it, and he stood in front of the coffee carafe for a good five minutes as he mentally debated on whether or not he even liked coffee - he honestly couldn't remember one way or the other. Finally he decided he didn't have anything to lose and poured himself a cup, as a few caffeine-dependent people were starting to get pretty cranky while waiting for him to do something other than stand there. He then helped himself to an almost obnoxiously-high stack of pancakes and what was likely a very unhealthy amount of bacon before finding a table to sit down at, figuring he'd take care of his own dietary needs first and tend to his Pokemon afterward. Tentatively, he took a small sip of the dark brown liquid, but he quickly learned that no, he really didn't like coffee at all and he coughed and sputtered, now trying to wipe the awful taste off of his tongue with a napkin.

Ben smiled a little sheepishly when he saw Croconaw. He was all too familiar with the look of this Pokemon, as he was convinced he'd been fighting it for the first ten minutes of their battle. But he couldn't help from being curious how much stronger the real thing was.. And what moves it had that he hadn't seen. When he saw Ditto, he grinned. "Oh, wow! So cool!" he said, bending down on one knee to touch it's soft, jelly-like body. "Whoa.. Aren't these Pokemon supposed to be really rare? What kind of abilities does it have?"
