Watching a plauthrough of Abyss, and I remember why I neer played it. Luke is a p***k. I'll take Richter over him any day.
Anyway, anyone have any suggestions where Ludger can pop up? I know it's the holidays, so I'm not expecting an answer soon....But, yeah. Just something to talk about when everyone gets back.
I was thinking with one of Shadow groups, but if they're all meeting at the Tower of Mana....

Sorry for the delay on my end, I've been feeling pretty drained. I'll try to post sometime this week or weekend.

Roy says: It's not magic. It's science.
Aww, poor Mikhail! *pats the dragon*
Eh. Mikhail doesn't know the difference. xd
Don't feel too bad for him. He won't be angry or sad or anything. Just surprised. When a person uses magic, they stop being human where he's from since they have to sell their souls to gain the ability. But, he can smell souls, to an extent, so Roy won't be killed. xp

Uuuuuugh. I just...I am so sorry for the holdup, guys. So much has happened in the past month and stuff is still going to happen for a few more days and I am just. So thoroughly exhausted that I couldn't even give a heads-up in a timely manner. crying Seriously, just pulled three all-nighters in a row helping fix up a bunch of dance costumes. For like 40+ people. On top of helping with cooking and choir practices and having an engagement for each of 10 days straight.
Aaaaanyway I should be totally free after this Sunday, though I'm pretty sure might crash in bed for an entire day trying to regain my energy.
No one's waiting for me to post a reply as Pascal, right?

Just did a quick reread, and it looks like you're waiting from a response from Serenity. I think Kokoro is nearby—if the "two girls" near Chani that Youkai specified are indeed Pascal and Serenity—it's just that she hasn't directly interacted with them...yet.

In other news, I...think I made a major goof regarding the actual state of the Tower of Mana. Short version: I think made it sound like the tower's still standing when it's actually not, by being too vague about it.
Long version: while I was writing up my draft for Zaul and Jade's post, I re-checked some info on the place so that I could describe what the evacuees were going to do there and... (spoiler'd just to be safe)
...found that it was apparently destroyed in the first game. Which I honestly did not remember because it didn't look that way in the cutscenes to me! (I remembered the roots of the twisted tree wrapping around the tower, but I didn't see it completely crumble...?) And I thought I was able to reenter the Tower of Mana after achieving the pact with Luna and Aska, but it appears my memory of that was wrong. When I tried to dig around for screenshots, I found that the map snapshot in DotNW reveals that only some walls of the ground level remain.
It's just that the icon for the Tower of Mana is still a tower, and that seriously threw me off guard. ohgodi'msorry. lolemotion_facepalm

I thought this might be of note for you because while I was rereading posts, I saw that Gaius mentioned seeing a tower...was it the Tower of Mana he was referring to?
I played DotNW once, hated it, and then threw it out (sold it) like I do all the shitty games I play. So, yeah. Totally forgot that the Tower of Mana is no longer standing. sweatdrop

Yeah, I even dusted off my Wii to double-check for good measure, and...pffffft. It's really gone. *headdesks*

I decided to reread the RP from the start on a whim and found that Lutz and Sheena were written as meeting on the second floor of the Tower of Mana. Now, according to what I just realized a couple of posts up, that can't have happened, so a little retconning is in order here. Sorry if this is annoying.
I mean, you don't have to go and change those posts (too much work!), but what do you wanna say happened instead? If I may offer a suggestion...maybe the interaction could have taken place in the Lake Sinoa Cave area near the Tower of Mana?
Nope. Sheena already told Lutz to take the citizens to the ruins they met at. Too late now.

Feel free to skip ahead to the Tower of Mana. Honestly, if you don't do it now, it'll never happen.

I believe that would leave the best options as 1: The tower never collapsed in this dimension or 2: Localized time distortion [though Sheena would likely have acted differently in that case]
Hm, I think you misunderstood what I said there. You are familiar with the concept of retconning, right? It just means agreeing that earlier events happened differently so that it doesn't conflict with what's currently happening. I'm not saying Sheena has to tell Lutz to meet somewhere else now.
What I meant was, just don't write as if the ruins are still an actual tower when you and Shade have your characters return there. And if the need ever arises to make reference back to the time they first encountered each other, the only thing that needs to be changed is how Lutz and Sheena remember it. Yes, they still could have met at the ruins. It just could have happened inside the cave under the ruins instead of the second floor of the tower since, technically, the Tower of Mana had been rubble since ToS1. After all, the collapse happened in ToS1 very shortly after making the pact with Luna and Aska.
(It can be told from the inset map that the character marker is at the Tower of Mana. To the southwest, the dot surrounded by water is Luin.)
To sum it up, when they return there, all there is to it is that they shouldn't be all "wait what happened to the tower what the hell??". Is that clearer?

It's just my opinion, but the first option can't quite fly because looking back at it, it'd make less sense if the tower didn't collapse after all that happened. sweatdrop
The second option sounds quite amazing, I must admit. biggrin It would also make sense, and I'm actually willing to play it through (I could easily just edit my latest post for Zaul and Jade) but that kind of retconning seems a little more complicated to run with it than to re-imagine their initial meeting as having taken place in the cave underneath the Tower of Mana. Because yeah, your point―Sheena should have different feelings and reactions to the place starting from when we the RP opened up to now.
There are a few significant things that would have to be kept in mind about Sheena if we run with the second option:
- Upon seeing the tower intact in the beginning of the RP, she would have been surprised because she was right there when it collapsed.
- She would also have this wariness about exploring the tower or people being in it, expecting it to be an illusion that could very well disappear at any moment.
- She would have told Lutz that the tower isn't actually supposed to be that way anymore. (In turn, Lutz would have also had different thoughts and feelings about the tower all along, right?)
- Upon realizing it could be a time distortion, it's information Sheena needs to keep in mind throughout the RP and she'll likely feel an urgent need to inform whichever friend she could reach first about it.
So in conclusion, settling on the thought that "oh, Lutz and Sheena met here instead of there all along" sounds a lot easier than trying to play along with this new information now.
