hamnote Long droves of silvery white locks cascaded over a sleek leather that coiled perfectly around the limber female. Her eyes were blank, left in a void behind the curtains of lashes and there was no contrast from that of other features. The white nightmares masked pallor a stoic visage that many mistook for that cool-calm-and-collected facade, though she was, it wasn't really that....she took great pride in what she was, what she did, this nation and she didn't deal with the bullshit. Where most couldn't stomach the horrors she bathed in them, so it was no wonder that hazel eyes could suck the life from anyone they laid upon.

"Do you need training? I hope I don't need to spell out how to do it. If so, perhaps you aren't cut out for this life." She obtusely replied.

User Image The figure remained still as the white knightmare started to speak to him about if he needed training. The comments to follow being blocked out as the figure started to raise his head faintly. Someone to actually teach him was what the being had asked for from Nocturnal. The black gauntlets gripped the handle of the greatsword as he started to rise up from his spot only to rip the great blade from the ground. The fire below would slowly fade away as the warrior started to sheathe the blade on his back. She was clearly much frailer than the warrior before him, but the diablous knew that nothing seemed what it appear. The crimson eyes did not show through the helm as he started to speak only a few words."Longsword, Greatsword,Shield, and Gauntlet." The dark clad would say no more. Words were wasted with pointless chatter, this was made clear from both beings

Jace entered the CAZ and found the place all but, empty, no one but a woman Jace had never seen before, and a man armored in black who struck a moderately intimidating figure and somehow seemed just ever so slightly familiar. Jace wondered why they were the only ones here, why they wouldn't be at the carnival like Jace guessed everyone else was. But then he realized that he was also here, which made the whole thing seem far less bizarre to him but he was still curious. "Stuck on guard duty? or trying to get ahead of the game?" He asked both of them but was looking at neither, instead looking at the library of training books, trying to pick out the book for shotguns.

It had pictures included since some of the recruits where practically brain dead, and if they had one, it was already lost. Probably like the armored man before her. "Here you go. Look over it, learn and then practice." She sat down at the desk, idly tapping lacquered nails against the grainy wood. "Maybe, kid." Honestly, she wasn't in the mood or mindset to babysit, she had surpassed those years some time ago in her service to Nocturne.

Django would soon walk into this other place to hone his skills. The large, 7 feet tall titan walked towards whoever seemed to know something here, which was the blonde and just said "Teach me. Djinn. Berzerker. Now." Then the somewhat mute titan spoke nothing else.

User Image Many more beings started to come around him and more did he started to begin to feel uneased. The book that was tossed his way was all he needed as he grabbed from the air and glanced at the beings all around him. The one that had spoken to him smelled of man-flesh which meant he was surely human...prey. The other one was quite different, strangely tall and muscular, maybe had some giant in him or maybe something more. The question that came from the man was only responded in a faint glance as he started unsheathe his long sword with the other hand. Demacus did not care for the human's words nor did he really want to waste any more time than he already had. With all that he started to move a small distance away from the group trying to see if he could get some training in with the sword.
[1/1] Demacus flipped open the book and slowly started to flip through it looking for the first sword style he would have to learn. Swift Judgement was the first to come across his eyes as he started to look over it. Sword and Shield. Perfect. Glancing over the first set of skills Demacus lightly placed the book away from him and toke stance with blade drawn. First was imprint which was a rather easy skill, taking a small step foreword Demacus lunged his blade foreword only to quickly slash right, with his shield arm coming in for a bash. These were simple movements something that trainees would be doing, but they had start some where.
                  Learned Imprint- Swift Judgement Style
[1/1] The next skill on the list was Going Down which was said to be easily used in almost every situation. Demacus taking a moment to think of the movements he started to step foreword slashing downwards, back up with a slash and then quickly had followed up with a blunt punch from his shield that would stagger anyone hit by it. If the slashes did not hit them the shield itself would be rather used to stagger them a bit.
                  Learned Going Down- Swift Judgement
[1/1] Taking a moment to reposition himself away from everyone he would make sure the next few movements would be hindered by cutting into someone's flesh too early. Quickly couching down, Demacus made a quick side step to the left and launched his sword upwards towards in curved arc strike. Spinning in the air the Diablous uses the speed he picked up to quickly turn himself in a three-sixty and slash downwards into the ground. Comet was another one of the easier moves to do in this style. Honestly most everything was easy in the past style.

Twix peered at the giant bean stock, rising in protest to stroll over to the bookcases once again. From there she pulled out a few books and handed them off to him. "Books. Read." With that she was back to the seat.

First off, Django just stepped away from the teacher to get prepared and learn simple techniques from the book. All he did was scan the Berzerker one really quick, and then the other Djinn one. He need the most basic of all to Berzerkers: Iron Form. After looking up and breathing in the air to meditate, he then closed his eyes to make his body change into a hardened self. Little by little, the changes started taking effect and his skin became as hard as steel. (1/1 Iron Form Learned)

Just after the first technique was learned, Django opened his eyes to take a fighting stance and start throwing punches. He channeled his energy across his body and even used some "Force" elemental energy to hone his skills. Soon enough, he was throwing a Ki Barrage of energy. (1/1 Ki Barrage Learned)

Hands moved downwards and feet moved into a running position to brace himself. Inhale. Exhale. Then BOOM! Django's left moved forward and then a quick burst of speed with only he reflection of the image of where he took that burst stood there. He then used it to get back again to the same place where he stood to continue his training in his comfort zone. (1/1 Forceful Feet)

The titan started lifting his body upon the tip of his feet until he was just jumping in place. He concentrated his Force energy on his feet to start jumping higher every time. The goal of the skill was reached when he inched his knees downwards and then jumped 50 feet up in the air. Landing gracefully, Django continued his work in progress with yet another skill. (Forceful Flight 1/1)

One C rank skill he wanted to try (because he can only learn one) was Ki Assault, so he started throwing punches again in the air. Soon after, the punches seemed to be getting stronger and stronger. One single left punch was thrown with all the force he could put into it, and a very strong Ki Assault was used. (1/1 Ki Assault)

"Yeah, you see -- the military thing wasn't working out too well," He was trying to get his words out, but the guy kept talking over him. They were using some fancy, unknown technology that he wasn't really comfortable with, and the attitude of his recruiter wasn't really something that brought him comfort either. He had always been kind of a d**k. He made fun of him all the time, making fun of how he was a little mermaid who could flop around and listen to conches, roll in the sand and talk to crabs or whatever. Sure, he seemed like a little pansy, but he wasn't that bad. He was born into war, watched his father be eaten away by war, and was destined to return to war. But no one really seemed to get that. Everyone here treated him like dirt. "Of course it didn't work out. You only showed up for training a few times, and when you did, you barely got anything done. You ran off with that Don Juan and did who knows what. Then you claimed critical illness for like two weeks. Then, you only went back for a few days before you claimed critical illness again! Pansy boy is a damn fitting title for you. Seriously, what's up with you?"

The Mer frowned. He was holding his young companion (a dragon) in his arms, and the strange transceiver was tied to his ears. He wasn't lying when he said he was ill. He really, really wasn't. "My people can't stay in areas like this for too long without getting sick. All of the industrial gas really hurts us. I already told you that. But I know the issue now -- I just wasn't staying hydrated enough. I spoke to my mom about this, 'cause she worked at a factory in Aramil when I was a kid. She said as long as I drink water every hour or so I should stay fine -- it'll filter out all of the bad air." He didn't hear anything coming from the other line. He held the machine for a few more minutes, but no sound. Irritated, he just propped it back up where he found it, then began to walk away. His dragon was probably completely content with all of this smoke and nastiness. The thing was born in salt and smoke after all, so how could he mind it?

Unfortunately, every time he went into the city, Hadrian felt like his lifespan was being cut. Especially since he was poor, and so he had to work and live in the most treacherous parts. Nevertheless, he continued on. He was only about a block away from the fort, so there was that relief, at least. Though training like balls for the next few hours wouldn't really be fun. Last time, he got distracted from it, and indeed ran off with some harlot. But they didn't do anything. He wasn't that type of Mer. "Are there any teachers available right now?" He asked, peaking his head into the fort. He stepped in, and stretched his arms. The air in here was at least . . . sort of better, so he could cool down for a bit. He just hoped they had some good water fountains. "My name is Hadrian Conchor, I'm a trainee of the military. I'm here to receive training in dragoon skills and pursue personal training in water and Mer abilities. Anything else is unnecessary." He wanted to learn some good spear skills, but there was no such thing as a good spear skill.

So that'd have to wait until some new developmental genius entered the fray.

Lacquered talons continued to punish the desk in quick, synced repetitions. Each one a protest of its own, each screaming in defiance. Another young man walked in, her face only noting this because her glare stabbed at him. "A Mer...well aren't you special." It was rhetorical. Twix rose, again making her way past the throng of bodies training and walked straight to the bookcases. "What you need is here. Find the book, read, study, then practice." She didn't bother to ask his name, he looked like a guppy lost in a sea of sharks and his pet just the same. "E and D rank. Class, Element, and Bloodline. I recommend stepping to the courtyard," a jutting thumb pointing to a panel of backdoors. "This way any of your elemental skills don't screw up the nice, shiny waxed floor." They could hardly be called shiny...since it had probably been a while since they were cleaned. "Once you're done, come find me again."

The Mer was met with a cold, undeniable glance by Django. The tall blue titan stared at him without saying anything. Maybe this was how he usually greeted everyone. Nonetheless, he stopped the training only to keep his eyes firm on the new Trainee. The cold yellow eyes almost staring right through anyone's soul, plus the fact that he looked at everyone downwards from his height... It all added up to the terror he could inflict on people. He already experienced the terror he could bestow on his first visit to a training center. Perhaps Djinn of his "kind" weren't welcome anywhere, but their home.

He stood silently, looking into the girl's eyes as she spoke to him. Every time she opened her mouth, he felt himself blink. It was nervousness or intimidation, he didn't really know. Hadrian was never fond of people who were much stronger than him, which just so happened to be basically everyone in the military at the moment. They never really happened to be the benevolent types, always trying to flaunt their power in some way or another. Though, he promised himself to not make that assumption of just everyone he crossed by. Maybe this girl would be nicer than the other mentors he'd encountered; from his recruiter, to that Succubus girl. Damn, they were both pretty crazy. "Okay," He said, sort of timidly. He backpedaled a bit, then turned around and looked for books. They were ordered alphabetically -- at least for the most part -- and so he assumed W, D and M would be the right places. Finding a book for dragoons was actually sort of difficult, probably. His profession was a rare one in the world of Axiom, as not many people decided they'd adopt some dragon baby off the side of the road and take it in as their own. Most would rather kill it, or sell it, but Hadrian believed there was room for goodness in everything. Except for his military recruiter.

He eventually found a book, though it didn't say dragoon, but dragon riders. The Mer flipped through the pages, and smiled brightly as he confirmed that it was exactly the perfect fit. There were chapters regarding his growing dragon, the magical theory behind the high-jumps and battlemagic, and all of that. He then continued on to find a water magic book, which was easy, then a Mer tablet that was strapped against some book regarding their culture. The Mer were extremely elusive, and there was little contact with them through all of history. The little contact made was between them and Aramil, and them and the dark elves. That meant that this tablet was certainly to be read in elvish.

Well, fortunately, he happened to know elvish, at least fairly fluently. He always liked to read books and learn things, so he could say he at least didn't waste all of his time. Just most of it. "I've found what I needed," He told the lady instructing him. "Thank you for your time." The Mer lightly bowed to her, and then went off to the courtyard. He set down some of the books against the floor, with the Mer tablet sitting on top of them as a sort of paperweight. He didn't want some wind blast coming by and throwing them off the map. The guy was too broke to pay for that. "Lessee..." He began to read the contents of the dragon riders book. This was volume one, so it was presumably meant for amateur dragoons like him. It also didn't have great detail on dragons, or really anything past the beginning stages of a drake. So, he'd probably have to check back later for the more advanced volumes, or do his own private research at the great library.

Unfortunately, while he was reading the volume, he felt that someone was staring at him. He glanced to the side, and saw some big blue man looking right at him. He had ears kinda like an elf, and reminded him sort of a diabolus he'd used to see all the time in the fort. But he wasn't either of those. Must've been just another rare race of supernaturals, right? His kind was probably especially brutish and combat-friendly, though, because they had the bodies for it. Hadrian would've preferred to just swim with the dolphins forever, like all of his kind. This guy seemed like he wanted to crack some skulls.

And he didn't want to be one of those people -- those owners of skulls. So, he didn't say anything. He looked back down at his book and began to absorb the contents. The most paramount ability of his class was probably the bestial leap, which seemed simple enough. Applying energy to his legs, he'd maybe find a bit of traction? Hm. That might've not been it exactly. He stepped out of the shade, then tried to perform the skill as described. Surprisingly, it was actually really simple. He leaped up from the ground and jumped to a ledge hanging by the upstairs window, then carefully jumped back down. Simple.

As his next move, he performed the same jump again, but didn't try and ascend to a higher platform. Instead, he had to test whether or not he could recover from his high jumps if things were to go awry. He took the minimal jump of twenty feet, just so he wouldn't be cracked into a million pieces on landing. Then, at the height of his jump, he purposefully screwed over his mid-air balance and began to plummet to the ground. With only a second or so before he'd impact and probably get a concrete a** whooping, he tried to channel energy through his body and reposition himself. This technique was the aerial recovery, and it did in fact succeed when put to the test. However, his field testing wasn't exactly done yet. He prepared the positioning of his feet when he went for the ground, and took a deep breath. He focused, counting down the mental milliseconds before he'd impact the floor. He only had a fraction of a second left, and he had to focus his position as perfectly as possible to assure a balanced landing. Dragoon had the spectacular ability to fall from high cliffs and onto the ground and live, in fact they could even shrug it off. This was only a short fall, so he had to be able to do it.

And he did. With the right balance of his weight, he met the ground and felt no pain or friction against the surface. He did a damn decent job.

But, he wasn't done yet. He had a few more abilities before he'd feel ready for actual combat. First, streaming water. This ability was extremely simple, especially for his kind. He pulled water out from the air moisture, then some from a small fountain near the center of the courtyard. The next move was to chain this into a Mer ability, the ocean's breeze. He dispersed the water he'd gathered into the air moisture once again, then had it swing by and slice against the stone of the fountain, the water hardening and then falling back down. That was good enough. The last technique he'd want to learn for water was the spout. He stepped into the center of the fountain, uncaring of getting his clothes all wet. Then, he swirled the water beneath him, and slowly, steadily began to rise.

It was a little difficult at first, but he got the hang of it quickly. The water continued to rise, and him with it. He felt faster and stronger while his lower half was submerged by the water, and as he rose, he began to practice spear fighting while still submerged. It'd take some fair balance to be able to utilize this while sticking his trident into people, but when he got the hang of it, he'd be a damn good warrior.

"Sorry," He turned his attention back to the large blue man. "I got a bit caught up. Did you want something?" The Mer smiled sweetly, or maybe a bit goofy, since he wasn't good at telling the difference.

(Water spout, streaming water, bestial leap, aerial recovery, soft landing, the ocean's breeze learned)

The titan grunted while looking downwards at the lady, twitched his head a little bit, and then moved to a closeby dummy to practive what would come after this technique. He started spinning the wooden dummy around to practice using his energy to dodge the incoming outward protrusions coming from the target. There wasn't much else to this tecnique and Django was a really fast learner... For some things. (Forceful Shift Learned 1/1)

Now the Djinn started practicing basic attacks with the dummy like starting to use his knees, slap it, and punches. He wasn't one to actually do things gracefully. He was more of a brute titan than a graceful one. His size showed this most of all. He kept hitting the dummy repeatedly and practicing grabs.
                                          (Wrestling Stage 1 Learned 1/1)

After he practiced some grabs, then he started slapping the dummy repeatedly. He was actually making it crack just by slapping the gargantuan piece of wood. It was a like a huge b***h slap to the chest... and it could quite possible be used for the face too. A small grin could be seen at the tip of Django's mouth. This was the only thing that made him smile, if that even counted as a smile. (Chest Slap 1/1)

After he practiced that with the almost-broken-down dummy Django jumped up to a higher surface on a wooden platform and raised his hands up. He started looking around as if it were a crowd of people rooting for him in awe and slapping his own chest showing his muscular manliness. After just a little while, he then jumped towards the dummy with his legs outwards and a large boom erupted around the training area with a small cloud of debris. When the small cloud dissipated, the titan made the dummy into tiny bits and pieces. (Drop kick 1/1)

With cool demeaner, Django then walked right next towards the tinier man and in front of the teacher. His eyes shifted towards the Mer, but then towards the teacher. He then looked down at her with mean eyes "Done..." replying like he didn't care for threats.

The Mer sort of froze when there came mention of a "mission". Sure, he felt sort of ready. And even without skills, Mer were still sort of scary. They had a large amount of water they could manipulate from seemingly nowhere, and it was hard and sharp. Against other low-rankers, it was devastating, capable of cornering and surrounding them. Plus, with the jumps, he had the mobility part down pat. And he also had his spout to help trigger his Mer . . . enthusiasm. Okay, yeah, he was ready. At least for an easy mission, like battling arachnics or whatever they were. The obligatory monsters that were first on the codex, and so every mission had damn arachnics. Especially Shane's. OkayIneedtostopbreakingthefourthwall.

The Mer looked up and nodded. "I'm done, and ready to go on a mission." He seemed pretty convicted, his way of showing excitement. He'd never gone on a mission before, but Lord only knew his rent this month required that he break that tradition.
