"Okay!"
Miyuki without any protest hurried away from her mother and towards Amalirahc. Scrambling onto the chair beside him, plopping her butt on the seat.
"Did you come to stay too?"

Amalirahc grinned and settled back into his seat. "If Mama and Ada say I can!" he replied happily. "Because yesterday was really boring without you, there's not much to do when you're not around. I want to do what you do here!"
He paused. "What do you do here?" he asked curiously.

"Lessons," Lin spoke up, she wanted to make sure Miyuki still had her education.
To Lin as a fast growing child she couldn't really make up the days if she missed a lot of lessons.
"And then afterwards play," Lin looked at Miyuki as she took a seat beside her daughter.
"At the playground! With the other children!" Miyuki explained bouncing on her seat.

"I like playing!" Amalirahc piped up.
"Only after you have some lessons of your own," Leyenda interrupted. "And I'm going to make sure of that, so don't sneak off."
Amalirahc pouted, but he knew there was no getting out of it.

Miyuki looked at Amalirahc noting that he didn't seem to like lessons. She looked up at her Mummi ready to pout because this didn't seem like a good thing, because she wanted to play with her friends.
Lin though had already come prepared, "We're going to write today, you want to write a letters to your grandparents right and tell them how much fun you're having right?"
"Yay! Can I write to Nineko and Ninako too?" she asked.
Miyuki had begun referring her great-grandparents like that, during her time on the ship. Something Lin was relieved to know because she found jiji and baachan completely improper. For Miyuki it was much easier to use.
"Of course!" Lin smiled, "And if you learn very well you can write to anyone."
Very good way to bribe Miyuki to learn several languages at once.

Leyenda smiled down at her son. "And I'm sure there are lessons you'll be interested in learning. Besides, it won't be fun to play without Miyuki."
She nudged him gently, grinning. "Besides, we'll be going into the city first thing. You'll have your lesson there today."
Amalirahc thought about it for a moment, then nodded. "Okay."

Miyuki grinned, she wondered if this meant they would be learning in the city too. That would be fun, she liked to be able to do new things.
"Good, then after lessons, Miyuki can show you the playground," Lin murmured.

Amalirahc looked a little confused, but he nodded. "I ... guess that is a good thing?" he asked. "What is a playground?"
"I have to say, that is a good question," Leyenda spoke up. "What is it?"

"It's a place built just for children to play," Lin explained to Amalirahc.
"You already know?" Miyuki was amazed because she had never seen a playground until this trip so she didn't know there were any in Gaia.
"I've never played in one, but there are a number of them back home," Lin told Miyuki.

Amalirahc was amazed that there would actually be places like that for children. He had seen much of the Four Lands, and he had never seen anything like that there. Still, the idea of it sounded like fun, and he was eager to see it.
"Mama," he said excitedly, turning to Leyenda, "can we have short lessons today?"
"We'll have lessons until Miyuki is done with hers and comes to get you," Leyenda replied firmly.

Lin looked thankfully at Leyenda for that, otherwise she wouldn't be able to get Miyuki to settle if she knew Amalirahc was going to go off without her.
"Besides we'll be here a long while and the playground isn't going to go anywhere," Lin added.
Miyuki blinked up at her Mummi before going back to her food, as long as she got to write her letters because writing meant she could also draw too.

At that point, Earendil entered the dining room, and he grinned when he saw that the others had joined them as well.
"Good morning," he called out, coming to sit next to Lin. "How are things aboard ship?"
"Good," Kelirahc replied. "They have brought it as close as they feel the safely can, so it is not such a long trip by rowboat, and the men have decided to take turns coming ashore for a while. Seamen they may be, but even they like the dry land once in a while."

"Ada!" Miyuki looked up from her food and waved, "Are you going to teach again?"
She wished he would come and teach with her Mummi instead, she liked it when he was there too, even though she understood why he wasn't.

Earendil smiled at Miyuki. "Yes, I am," he told her softly. "But I will try to be finished a bit earlier today, all right? Perhaps your mother and I could even come and watch you play a bit."
He did want to spend more time with her and Lin, but after all the entire reason they were out there was because Aerin had asked for his help.

There was a wide grin and a waving of tails as Miyuki perked up upon hearing that. She loved it when her Ada was around.
"Okay!" she chirped happily, "But Mummi said lessons first."
