That idea actually sound highly plausible. I do think it would play nicely into Lunette's dark side (yes, it seems she's falling into a sort of Star Wars cross-over, heehee!). I may have to do a major jump in my original character history and have her go bonkers way sooner than I had hoped. I don't know, we'll just have to see how things play out over the next few months. But yes, let's see what everyone else thinks of your alternate suggestion. Personally, I'm all for it.
I like the idea.
Charm is sort studying this sort of stuff, so she can be like "well I sort of can read it..."

Yes, I am alive. I am also sorry for not being around much and not posting. I am gonna try to get my post done by tomorrow. Today for me is rough draft day. I've got quite a bit to respond to (more like a lot to write because three characters).
Man, things have really gotten busy around here xD Where do I start...
The ancient book... I really like the idea of this and the underground archive. I know I mentioned in my last post that the Manor's library had a few texts on the senshi (perhaps Caelen recorded some information on them for the sake of keeping their history intact?) but it works better that the underground archive is much more complete.
The ancient text on Terra and Aeris would show that they have no actual senshi ancestry but instead are reincarnated with every generation of senshi. In many reincarnations, they are sisters, sometimes twins. But it isn't always that way. Regardless, the two have an incredibly strong bond, despite being total opposites of each other in terms of personality and powers. I'm currently working on their origin story as a side thing, but for know I'll let you all know that they originated on another world, created by Gaia to maintain the delicate balance of life. It's a task they can only accomplish by working together, though that doesn't necessarily mean being side-by-side. Should they choose not to work together, or if one of the two is killed lost, their powers become incredibly unstable. Of course, harnessing the power of the earth and the sky is difficult enough to begin with.
As for the dais... I rather like the idea. But we need to keep in mind that if there are to be slots for each object of light, that would also include one for Hydro. And maybe there should be one for Lunette? But her object doesn't fit in it because maybe her negative energy is distorting it? Idk, just spitballing here.

Thing is though that even though no one knows it, Hydro's locket isn't in the manor anymore...Charm sort of threw it at her head when she snuck off earlier. So if senshi start trying to complete the dias and look at Charm...that'll be awkward. xP

Someone can ask Aylin to read the text just to get a kick out of her reaction for comic relief, but maybe we'll have Lorelei be the one to read the ancient text. I feel like I need to give her something to do.

Whatever you two think will work for your characters is okay by me. Aylin could read that stuff but is she confident enough to read it without blowing up the entire manor is the question. Because honestly, she's going to see a nearly dead language written around the room and be all "Oh no not me you don't want me reading that stuff. I mean, yeah sure, if you're looking to blow up the place I'll read it for you" about it all. xp

I got to thinking about this, and since Lunette does not really have an object, the final slot needs to be exactly the right shape for Seren's object, so there is not doubt as to who has to place the final relic. That should give Lune a reason to sort of cut off from the others and hang in the back, aloof as usual. As far as Hydro's object goes....that needs some work. This is where I really need people to be brainstorming and coming up with possibilities.
As far as the ancient text goes, maybe we can split the difference and have Charm and Lorelei work together to read the text. I think it would be a fair compromise.

Yeah Lorelei would definitely be the better one in the group to decrypt that ancient text. People would assume it would be Aylin based on the fact that she looks older than Lorelei. It would certainly help to start to reveal just how old Lorelei truly is.

I really like these ideas by everyone, I apologize I've been sorta distracted and busy tonight. I do like the dais and the objects of light definitely could be the key. Lorelei will read the text, that'll be fine. I'll have to have a very convincing post though. XD So many things I've yet to explain about her and my other characters. How old is Lorelei? We'll see. wink

i think the easiest way, to handle Hydro's object is to simply make it one of those magical prophecy type deals, a line could reference something like "One who is adrift in the dark, but still shines." Or something to that effect so that there is a spot for her, but was designed with the idea she would missing for now, and still allow Gaia to be summoned. After she is saved the summoning system if we still want/need to use it could work like normal.

It also highly depends on WHEN you/everyone want to finish that dais...
I do have a slightly funny but plausible solution to offer, depending on what you guys want to do...

This is true, I assumed it was going to be right away myself.
Once Hydro pointed out my oversight, my lack of forethought really bugged me last night, so I got to thinking about how to resolve the issue. I actually came up with a really good solution. How about this:
Lore has to translate the text BEFORE the scouts can go placing any objects be cause the text tells how to operate the dias. In doing so, she discovers that only 4 objects plus the Master Steward's Token must be placed in order to send a sort of "prayer" to Gaia, invoking an audience with Her. This way, we don't have to worry about not having all objects present and accounted for. Now, just for info's sake, if ALL objects of light are placed plus the Master Steward's Token, a secret compartment will open in one of the walls and reveal special high grade magical weapons for the senshi, but that will be for much, much later down the road. Right now we only need four objects and Caelen's Token, since he is technically the Master Steward since Aylin has to count as senshi, even with her Token. And to top this off, each of the slots is unique to each of the different objects of light, leaving no place at all for Lunette. I'd say this is a pretty good solution. What do you all think?

This is fine, I can make the reason Hydro has a Token in the first place is that she's not able to personally meet with Gaia (or at least at the same time as the senshi). Yin and Charm can stand in for her otherwise.
Hey guys I know we're all excited about the Dias and who's going to be doing what once we find it but we don't have to push for that to be the next thing we do. Right now I feel like, and I'm guilty of this myself, that nobody's addressing the fact that the manor is less manor and more of a posh prison in a bubble that's blocked out every last thing going on in Barton. Once we got to the manor the rest of Barton was forgotten about by anyone in the manor. The only one inside that house right now that hasn't ignored Barton, aside from Chef, is Leif. Remember the girls are trapped in the house because the Dopples are still there. Remember Hydro has been turning the town into a war zone from the apocalypse and we're sitting around sipping tea and having pity parties.
The girls have families that are out in the town who could possibly be hurt or worse and we're not addressing that. We need to get back to that once we get this little bit finished with. There needs to be more of a reason and a need to find that Dias other than because Caelen said so. I think getting back out into the town and seeing what has happened and having another run in with DV and failing again will give the girls more of a push and a solid reason to find that Dias. Because if the girls can't transform or can't access their powers they're going to feel like the only way to be able to stop DV and save Hydro is to find that Dias. We can't find the Dias before we run into DV again.
What we're forgetting in all of this is that the reason we need to find the Dias isn't because it's another step in our training or that it'll become a secret base for the girls. The reason we need to find that Dias is because Barton is a literal hell hole (that we're not addressing) and we need to save it. That will make finding the Dias much more significant. It'll turn that part of the RP into a major turning point for everyone for various reasons. Cel says Gaia will come before the girls and it'll be far more significant if the girls feel like they've failed each other and the town when they're before her. What she says to them will begin to give them the hope they need to move on in the battle and start to make gains in everything.
Right now the RP feels a little all over the place with pacing and trying to get things done. If we can get a nice clear flowing path towards finding that Dias and meeting Gaia then it'll feel like the proper RP we've been aiming for from day one. So here's what I do think needs to happen, and Cree's on board with this since it is her RP.
First, we need to wrap up the Caelen revelations moment in a way that segues into what must happen next. I do think, and he's going to bring this up, that Chef is going to be the right person for this. Second, we need to dead the dopples and be able to get the girls into town because town hall is gone and we're not dealing with that at all because we've been all "Oh no they didn't hear that" about it. Third, we need another confrontation with DV whether the girls are ready or not because this shouldn't be a cake walk and they finally need to have the reality that the world is going to hell hit them and hit them hard. Fourth, the girls, including Aylin, need to fail again. Fifth, we find the Dias and meet with Gaia. After that we can decide what to play out next and how to go about trying to save Barton once the girls have that renewed sense of purpose and confidence.
I'm not saying we shouldn't be planning for the Dias just that the Dias shouldn't be our next move. It's time to stop dragging out side things and get back to focusing on the major plot points of this RP for a while. Because we've been at this RP for how long and we're only on day three. The RP is dragging along because we spend too much time playing out every hour we have these girls awake. At some point we're going to have to either shorten how much of a day we focus on or have a huge time jump.

Hey everyone, I'm gonna go ahead and follow up on what Cheebs said. A couple days ago I took it upon myself to read the RP in its entirety. The thing I noticed most is that we have an issue with time management and how events are handled. I feel it's my fault for the lack of control of my own RP. We constantly have struggled on what the next event is, and how it'll fold out, and who's doing what. We tend to either rush things, or linger too long until we forget what we're even doing. I want this RP to be fair to everyone, and I want to include everyone's idea's but I want to have a stand for what goes on and when things happen. And right now, it's hard for me to have a clear path when there's so many ideas at once. I don't think there's been any bad ideas, I just want to have things make sense. I'm struggling to even involve my own characters for fear of stepping on others toes. As stated in Cheebs' post we're sorta disregarding the big problem right now, and spending too much time twiddling our thumbs. I want to move forward with the RP, but I don't want to do too much at once. It doesn't mean I want the RP to drag either. I am pretty happy that people are posting, but we need to collaborate as a group. It needs to be one cohesive story with an even, steady, flow. Some of us, myself included need to also give more attention to their characters, and have them be included so none of us fade off entirely. We all have plans, we just gotta work together and communicate or else we'll lose someone or it'll become chaotic. Thank you all for being a part of this, I love you guys. I know we can make this RP great! emotion_hug
