 ZduraRogue | Crystal | JouninSupport { Sealing } Combo~ Zdura watched Luo closely the whole time he was speaking, and then still after Luo started himself. He observed the man's features, trying to read into his thoughts. Luo doubted him, if his reactions were anything to go by, but there was something else in his eyes too, recognition of another, as if he was looking through him and into another man. Stepping forward as Luo put forth the papers, he swiped his hand over the seal on Luo's desk, and it vanished just as it had appeared. With that gone, he began to look both at the papers as well as the man before him, reading both in his own way. "One always hopes that the first strike is all that is needed. My abilities simply give me a greater element of surprise." Finished reading over the paperwork, Zdura began filling it in, expertly combining aspects of his true identity with that of "Zdura", to make a believable profile. "But you doubt me. Perhaps because you don't believe the guards would have missed my actions should I have chosen to perform them? Maybe you could have moved fast enough to save everyone, or even stopped me before I could begin?" Finishing the form even as he spoke, Zdura slid it back across the desk to Luo. "I challenge you then, to find the seal on that form. If you can see it, I will concede the point."And truly, deeply within his finely entwined lettering on the form, he had hidden a seal. A simple storage seal it may have been, but worked into his practiced lettering, it would be entirely invisible to all but the trained eye of a sealing specialist, trained in the art of disguising and identifying seals. Even for one as intelligent as Luo, all that could be seen on the sheet would be Zdura's smooth calligraphy. A writing style he had developed and practiced over the years for the express purpose of entwining seals into his text. Stepping back from the desk, Zdura chose to answer Luo's remaining question while the man looked over the paper. "As for the bingo books, you will find that in the eyes of the world, I do not exist. My specialty in Otogakure was the acquisition and obfuscation of information. I reported directly the the Otokage, and the Otokage was the only person who knew I was even a member of the forces. To all others, I was a contact. Any and all information went through me. When I had free time, I put on the garb you see me in now, and taught students in the village academy, or took missions of my own. If neither of those options was available, I would work on my sealing techniques and theories." As he finished speaking, for that was all he wished to say, Zdura crossed his arms across his chest, focusing his attention on Luo, and on the paper before him. Masaki had hoped to talk about something else with Luo, but their meeting had been cut short, it seemed, by a new arrival. A boy of minimal sense of politeness, Masaki lingered a little longer than he perhaps should have. Long enough, at least, to hear the basic situation. Another refugee to Kiri it seemed. However, Masaki had never heard of the village of Otogakure. When the new arrival said something about killing Masaki a smile crossed his face, and he flashed a half-amused, half intrigued face at Luo before bowing out of the room As Luo started explaining all the things that were wrong with the man's entrance.
If this man was allowed to stay, Masaki would have yet another rival to overtake. The thought excited him, with only the slightest lingering doubt of the man's prowess or honesty. Having seen Luo in battle though was enough that Masaki knew the newcomer was lying about being able to kill the Mizukage. He couldn't help but wonder a little if his village's destruction couldn't have been the man's own fault.

As he was challenged to find a seal in his writing, Luo's guess was confirmed as his temple pounded once, seeming to go behind his eyes. The man really was like Tessai, and didn't seem to let the issue of his ability go. And now more than ever, Luo felt the man assumed he was an outright idiot to attempt to find a seal they both knew he could not find. He looked the paper over as the man spoke more about what he did, memorizing everything that was written so he could copy it later.
As the man finished speaking and awaited Luo's answer, Luo held the paper up and activated the second fire release skill, holding it between his index and middle finger. Quickly, the paper caught fire and disintegrated, the ash falling onto his desk. Placing his hand down, he sighed a bit, a habit the man had which he exhibited quite often with most emotions. Looking at Zdura Luo smiled curtly, his grin having faded naturally after laughing. "If I know the general location of the seal, I don't need to find it, simply eliminate it. Destroy the building yes, but the boy's skin can be sacrificed if it meant saving his life. Same with the secretary." Once more, Luo leaned in, this time however it was evident that he was annoyed, a grand display for a man who usually liked to remain reserved. He was almost whispering when he spoke, his voice distinct still however.
"Now, I don't doubt you because of your ability or inability. I doubt you because an Oto-nin who specializes in gathering information is asking for refuge in Kiri after a village that for all intents and purposes does not exist, was destroyed. You and I both know you know more about me than I do of you, so there is no need for you to act offended. I am doing my job, I am making sure my village and its people are safe from harm. But I am not evil. As I said before, I granted you a temporary stay until I can prove for myself that Oto wherever it may be really was destroyed, you are not a criminal, and you are not a missing-nin from another village that would put my village or its alliances in danger. Now, I commend your effort on your attempt to play the victim, but you are nothing of the sort. As for work here in the village, I suggest looking at our mission list and reporting to me before you take them on so I can approve them or set you up with a temporary squad to perform them."
Luo was not frustrated, his brow was not furrowed, he did not fume, and he was not tense. He was annoyed however, his curt manner of speaking displayed it clearly. The man misinterpreted Luo's simple attempt to let the matter go and simply conduct the proper investigations as he would for any foreign shinobi seeking refuge, for him doubting his skill and going so far as to throw it in Luo's face in an attempt to baffle him and possibly embarrass him. It was a second attempt at the handshake he wished to initiate earlier, and Luo quite frankly didn't appreciate it. Luo could not see where in the great five it would be polite to attempt to humiliate the leader of the village in front of his men. He gathered in Konoha, they'd be prone to threaten him with kunai at this point. After a few wars, the village had become a bit jumpy. His mind drifted back to the topic at hand however, his annoyance still prevalent. He was a kage, the last line of defense for his village. It was his job to be cautious, to doubt everything at face value. They lived in a world of deceit, the shinobi world. Surely, the man did not think Luo would not have any suspicions about his arrival.

ZduraRogue | Crystal | JouninSupport { Sealing } Combo~ Zdura sighed in turn as Luo finished speaking, finally realizing where things had gone wrong. The mere fact he hadn't noticed it earlier, was a blemish he could no longer scrub away. And the more he had tried to fix it, the worse it got. "I believe we have had a misunderstanding." he spoke quietly, rubbing his forehead with his right hand. "I would say, we are both thinking of the same topics, from different sides of a prism. What I do to attempt to explain a matter, you perceive as an insult to yourself, which I did not intend, and for which I apologize." Zdura bowed again at this point, as he had earlier in the meeting, deeper this time though, to stress his point. "I simply wished to state, that my art is hidden where it cannot be seen or known. It is not to insult or belittle yourself or any of your men that I say it, but to clearly show my own ability. I can see that my methods were mistaken for the audience." Zdura's entire countenance as he spoke was different from before. He was still confident, but slightly more humble in appearance. He had made the mistake of believing the strong and harsh approach was what would impress in Kirigakure. Apparently, the village was different than he had thought. "If you would like, a different test of my ability may be better suited. If you have any missions you would trust me with, with what little you know of me, I will perform them." he finished speaking, looking on for a response from Luo. After a few seconds though, a matter clicked in his head, and he frowned slightly. Just one word that had cropped up a few times. "However, do not think of me as a refugee." he spoke out in a strange mixture of his earlier tone, and contemplation. "It has been over twenty years since that term could be applied to me, and that was when my country was destroyed by war. My current status is more of a free agent. With the discovery of our "village", and the subsequent attack, we were disbanded. I was loosed from my bonds to the village, not severed." Finally finished with what he had to say, Zdura went silent, standing in a loose attention stance of sorts, and waiting for what would come next. Would this appease the Mizukage, or anger him further? It was apparent that if his integration into Kirigakure were to succeed, he would have to learn the mannerisms of the locals, and quickly too it seemed. ~ [Chakra: 207]

"I assume I can acquire a map of the village downstairs?" he asked, gesturing towards the stairs at his back. It would after all be strange for them to expect him to wander the village until he actually found the place himself, or have preexisting knowledge of it's location. "Also," he interjected once more. "Does my temporary residence allow access to the village library? I would be quite interested in any knowledge Kiri might have of my arts that I have not had access to previously." His previous knowledge of sealing had all come from either direct training with old masters before he assisted in forming Otogakure, or books he had managed to have brought to him for personal use. The village had not had a great deal of information on the sealing arts, and Yasashii had never had the opportunity to explore a true ninja library. The venture was one he hoped to undertake as soon as he was allowed. ~ [Chakra: 207]

 Behind Luo LT steadied himself and cautiously put himself at ease. 'Why does every one in this world have a chip on their shoulder?' It almost didnt make sense to LT, but making sense of things wasnt his job nor duty, he was to follow orders and maintain the security and safety of his people, and above all his Lord Mizukage, Luo Ushio. The Jonin commander sighed lightly but kept his laidback yet strong body in a quiet practiced ritual form of him brewing coffee. He commited his actions of brewing very quietly as to not alter the tension that had built up into the office. But as the soft aroma filled the office and the atmosphere calmed a bit, LT liked to think that it was in fact his world famous coffee helped eleviate the stress of both parties. He listened quietly as both the Mizukage and this Zdura played a match of words, and in the mean time LT filled several cups of coffee serving of course his Lord first, with setting a cup with some sugar and creme on the side of the mizukage desk. All before serving himself some of his fresh brew. At the request for a map, LT tossed the newcomer a vistors map from one of the stacks of asorted papers that roamed the office and the counter tops that lined its walls. LT couldnt help but only think of one thing the second this man revealed himself, and it was 'lack of respect' as a first impression and first impressions were hard to change. LT never intently meant to insult some one, but so many people in this world ran around demanding to be treated a certain way with out giving anything in turn. It was a pet-peave of Tares's but there were only so many people you can help fix, some people just have to figure it out themselves. He was very proud of the fact that his first lesson in training to his students was about respect, and even more proud than Yama, Kai, Kan, Karis, Sevvyn, and many more of this villages ninja heeded his first lesson. But in his heart LT pitied this 'Zdura' a bit, to be a lost man longing for a place to be needed, and to be a man of a certain grade cast to the bottom of the food chain again after working your way to the top for so long. Or maybe LT was getting to old to let such sappy thoughts cross his mind. He shook his head silently causing his medium lenght silver white hair to sway on an invisible and non exsistant wind. At the question for a possible map, LT

ZduraRogue | Crystal | JouninSupport { Sealing } Combo~ Zdura's hand snapped up in an instant, catching the object unexpectedly tossed at him. Looking at it, he quickly found it to be a basic map of the town, and smiled slightly. That should prove satisfactory for his needs. Nodding to Tares, he offered the man a smile through his mask, noting for the first time the similarity between their choices of facial covering. Useless as the things truly may be for hiding one's identity, they were most comfortable, and did lend a sense of intrigue. Looking back to Luo as he explained the library, (And picking up relatively useless knowledge of how the man liked his coffee in the process,) Zdura frowned. His method of learning sealing theory relied upon breaking down existing jutsu and seals to examine their internal workings. Without access to that, he would be unable to develop many new seals, not to mention the lack of preexisting ones, which he could not learn. But, he supposed that just meant that he needed to prove himself and move beyond this trial period. "That is... Unfortunate. Very well though, I'll just have to prove myself for you." he said, shrugging slightly, laying off the matter as somewhat less of an issue than it really was to him. He was patient though, and he really only had one thing he needed to perfect. Stepping back from the desk once more, putting himself nearer the door, he nodded to each of the men in the room in turn. "Luo, Tares, Kaizen." he spoke each of their names in turn. It would probably be a bit strange, especially to the young chuunin, but his knowledge of each could be explained easily enough if they just thought about it. You didn't get to the rank of the first two without being recognized by the outside world, and being a top contender in the final test of the chuunin exams earned you a worldwide spotlight. "I look forward to working with you all. I'll take my leave now, and see about that apartment." With that, he bowed once more, turned on his heel, and walked out the door, down the steps, past the still apparently fuming secretary, and into the outside world. Once outside, he opened up the map Tares had given him, and walked off into the mist. [Exit to Apartments] ~ [Chakra: 207]

LT's stoic face returned the bow to Zdura as he gave one. Perhaps there was hope in the respect for this newcomer, but it all depends now on how he handles himself in the field. LT took a moment to wonder who would go with this Zdura to make sure he completed his mission properly, and he had a feeling that it was going to be him. LT sighed again and turned towards the Mizukages desk while he half leaned and half sat on the edge of the counter top that circled the office. In one hand he had a cup of coffee while in the other he had a file from his own stack of paper work. Paper work, it was an enemy that could not be defeated no matter how hard or how fast he tried to complete it, it was worse than that zombie incident that Kiri fell victim too awhile back. LT smiled at his own wandering thoughts and he brought himself back to the real world. "So," LT spoke at last, keeping a some what quizzicle and hushed tone, "what do you think? . . . He knows a lot about us, and I have been trying to lay low lately."

He had a firm recollection of the man's signature, and practiced a few times on a sticky pad before getting the pen strokes precise. When Tares posed his question, Luo sipped his coffee with one hand as he wrote with the other. "You, Zane, and I were sent on some missions that aren't exactly forgettable. I don't doubt your name rests in a bingo book somewhere, and mine as well. Kaizen participated in a country-wide chuunin exam. Not only was the information of each participant displayed everywhere for the event on Nagi Island, but his bout was the last one of the exams, not to mention what occurred during its last minutes." As his eyes continued to scan the paper and fill it back out, he took another three sips of his coffee before letting his own opinions be known.
"I don't trust a man who generously flaunts the information he's gathered over time. I don't doubt that he intends to do what he does best while in Kiri, gather information on the village. Unfortunately for him, his temporary residence ID will only allow him into certain village buildings. I'm going to send him on a mission, and I want you to go with him. As you can already tell, he's capable of placing seals by touch, so I suggest keeping physical contact at an absolute minimum until further notice. I want you to keep your eyes peeled during this mission. Keep mental track of what occurred and when the mission is complete, give me all of the information in your mission report. During combat, I'd suggest taking note of whether or not he is marking his opponents, and if he is whether it's done before or after they've been dispatched."
Tares knew that when Luo asked him to keep his 'eyes' peeled, it meant that should they enter an encounter, he wanted the man to watch Zdura with the eye he kept hidden under the mask. Luo knew his sight was not keen enough to keep track of markings on opponents during combat, however Tares did. Luo knew of fuuinjutsu that required dead or dying sacrifices for them to be performed, and they were some of the most deadly. He wanted to make sure that even in combat, the man didn't have some sort of ulterior motive. His mind then drifted back to when he caught Zin Naga extracting DNA from the virus outbreak they had a year ago. He had said nothing about the incident to him, but kept a mental note of it and wondered about his intentions. Just the same, Luo hoped this man didn't have anything up his sleeve.

Despite this being the place where he had to deal with the shrill woman, find work that cut into his relaxation/training time, and file his mission paperwork, the building was a comforting site after two weeks in the Caverns of Hebi.
Yamatano walked up the stairs, ignoring the shrill cry of "No pets allowed!" from the secretary when she saw Kuro clutched in his hand, and knocked on the door of the Mizukage. He didn't bother saying anything. If Luo was available, he would say so. If not, Yamatano would wait.

Tares finished his coffee and pulled his mask back up over his nose as he heard his orders from Luo. In fact Tares was deeply worried about these seals of Zdura. But LT figured he had a way around those seals if he was ever touched be one. Though Prevention of being touched was always the safer option. The Jonin took in the Lord's advice of keeping his eyes peeled, he knew exactly what Luo wanted, and LT would make sure it would happen. A knock came at the door, both Luo and LT didnt even haveto open the door to know that it was Yamatano. "Enter" LT called out in his scruff voice with a small hint of excitment, he was excited to see his young students again. Before any one entered though, LT leaned down to examine the desk where it had been previously marked by Zdura and he scratched the wood lightly with his thumb. In a quiet tone that was barely audible LT asked, "What if things go. . . down during the mission. Any advice as to handle some one like that? . . . And should I keep an eye on him while he is in the village or just wait here till you send us off on the mission?"

He smiled slightly and nodded in the direction of LT-sensei, then bowed before Luo, stating "Lord Mizukage, I'm sorry I was gone so long. What do you require of me?"
At the same time, Yamatano stuffed Kuro in his pocket, out of which the small snake immediately popped it's head out to view its surroundings. Thankfully, he knew enough to shut up in front of the Mizukage, after having been reprimanded for it so many times.
