"Ah, that's right." Carlos said as he leaned forward and glanced at the book with Train. "Its contents are a bit of a mystery you see, the words are written in an odd style as I'm sure you've noticed. I've studied it quite a bit since first I laid eyes upon it and from what I've gathered, it has been written in a few languages. Flip through it and you will find that the characters vary greatly from some pages to the next, and the pages are less worn near the end of the book. It is my belief that this book has traveled, probably passed from one researcher to the next and so forth. I've only been able to decifer s few bits and pieces in it, but it's very hard to get the whole story. I've had the most success with the legends written with the Unknown alphabet, like this one." He said as the page turned to one with a picture of a beast, crude in detail but still resembling the real thing. It was dog like, with a flowing main and waves around it and storm clouds above. "Know about this one? It's a part of the legend in umm...whats the region called again...Johto I think? The characters refer to is as Suicune."

"I may have been mistaken," Keegan muttered under his breath, having not expected to see the Scizor take down the Skarmory with an incredibly well-timed Counter. He watched as the two exchanged some words once the Pokemon had been recalled; it seemed like the two of them had battled many times before and were fairly good friends. He wasn't at all surprised when they agreed to Sasha's request for a double battle, for he figured no man in his right mind would be able to turn her down. "Two Pokemon each," he repeated to himself, not sure which ones he'd select, even as Sasha and Ben quickly made their choices, with the latter choosing a Mawile. Across from him, the boy named Jacob seemed less enthusiastic about the upcoming match, possibly from having just lost to Ben, though as he selected his first Pokemon - an eager-looking Lairon - his expression seemed to change, perhaps with the thought of redeeming himself.

What's with these guys and steel Pokemon? Keegan thought, looking over at the Cacturne. Almost instantly his hand reached for Helios' Poke Ball but he stopped himself, not wanting to make it too easy. After a moment of careful thought, he removed Moeder's Safari Ball from his belt and examined it before releasing the Kangaskhan. Moeder let out a low growl and stomped her feet on the pavement. It had been a while since she'd seen battle and she looked mightily eager for a fight. Keegan tossed the now empty Safari Ball up and down a few times, looking over at his pink-haired comrade. "Ladies first?" he suggested, feeling the pre-battle excitement starting to build up.

Once the newly-evolved Pidgeot had been all healed up Miharu wasted no time making sure she had everything, and once again she ran back outside, already throwing Aska's Pokeball forward. The Pidgeot burst out of the sphere in a flash of light and feathers, and she looked over her shoulder at Miharu, already knowing what the girl wanted from her. Aska clicked her beak and nodded, crouching down so that the tiny little human wouldn't have any difficulty climbing aboard, and once she was sure Miharu was holding on tightly she lifted off with a single flap of her powerful wings.

Flying wasn't anything like Miharu had imagined it to be at all. For one thing, it felt as though she'd left her stomach back on the ground in Cianwood City, and for another, she was so terrified at first that she couldn't even open her eyes. Aska quickly sensed her trainer's unease and slowed down somewhat, as they were now skimming the surface of the ocean, heading towards Olivine City. The feeling of the ocean spray on her face made Miharu finally open her eyes, and after a few moments, she began to enjoy the flight. As her trainer grew more comfortable with her new method of traveling, Aska flew up a little higher, and soon they were soaring above the Whirl Islands, and Miharu was able to see firsthand just how large and treacherous the whirlpools really were. At one point she also saw a gang of Tentacruel bobbing along in the waves, the red glow of their gems shimmering in the bright sunlight.

Before long, Miharu could see the Lighthouse rising up on the horizon and she couldn't believe just how quickly Aska had carried her across the ocean. The Pidgeot soon touched down in front of the Olivine City Pokemon Center, and when Miharu jumped down to the ground, her legs felt a little like jelly. "That was amazing!" she practically shouted, jumping up and hugging the bird Pokemon happily. "Aska, you're incredible!"

The Blackbelt blinked once and tilted his head as well, not entirely sure he understood what it was that Nina was trying to pull. "As it will also toll for you," he replied coolly, glancing at grinning ghost. "That Perish Song has affected your Misdreavus as well." Medicham looked up at her trainer, able to sense that time was now of the essence. She could still hear the haunting melody from Anna's song echoing in her mind, but she shrugged it off, waiting anxiously for her master's next command. "Shadow Ball."

Medicham sprang into action, using her strong legs to kick off the ground as she brought her hands high above her head. A deep, ebony sphere of energy formed between her palms, reaching its full size as she reached the top of her jump. With a sharp cry she lobbed it at the Misdreavus, aware of just how important this match was to her master.

“… So, that tall grass is a lot… Taller than I remember.”

“Quiiiiiil…” Scarlet was right. The Cyndaquil couldn’t do more than stare up at the grass that was, unfortunately, some four inches taller than her. She looked up at her trainer, noticing him with his arms folded, staring down at her. Cindy tilted her head to the right. “Quil…?”

“Maybe you just got shorter…"

There was a moment of silence as the trainer and his pokemon gazed into each others’ eyes. A rather quick breeze flowed across Route 30’s entrance, carrying tumbleweed comfortably through the air. However, that silent, almost stillness was soon broken by something that Scarlet had seen happen twice in his life. Cindy’s always-shut eyes tore open with a look of such hatred that he almost crapped his pants in terror.

“W-WOAH. CALM-”

But Cindy didn’t have time to wait and calm down. After all, her Leer had just severely weakened her enemy. So, she followed it up by charging forward and driving her skull directly into Scarlet’s crotch. Her ‘trainer’ curled up into a ball and fell onto his side, eyes clouding up with tears.

“Hmph.” The little Cyndaquil turned her back to Scarlet and walked ahead into the grass, eager to find a battle. And find a battle she did. There were two glowing red eyes in the trees on the southern end of the path. However, it would take much more than glowing eyes to scare off Cindy.

The quills on her back flared out in a burning array of brilliant red, yellow, and orange. She jabbed a hand in the air, shaking angrily at the odd glowy eyes creature hiding in the foliage. And she proceeded to bark out a challenge. I, Cindy of Cherrygrove City, challenge you to a battle! Do you accept!?

The pokemon fluttered awkwardly down from the tree, landing in a previously unforeseen clearing some ten feet away from Cindy. It landed on a single leg, canting its head to the right. Brows arched down, forcing an angry expression on its face. The owl like pokemon, a Hoothoot, if Cindy’s memory served, opened its mouth, chirping. I do accept your challenge, Cindy, and it will end in your defeat...

"Yeah, Train responded, examining the words on the page of the book she was looking at. She turned the page and, sure enough, different symbols for everything. She continued flipping through is he talked, and paused to examine the Unown symbols. Upon further inspection, she realised they resembled English and was thus mildly less impressed at Carlos' understanding of it. Her eyes trailed up to the picture and she paused, taken aback by how magnificent the creature looked. "Suicune…?" She repeated, staring in awe at the picture. It even had a beautiful name to match.

"Johto?" She asked, looking up from the book. "I've been there before!" It was a very brief visit, but still held true nonetheless.

"Merci beaucoup, ma petite chérie," Fantina beamed, still giggling quite excitedly. "C'est très excitant, n'est-ce pas?" It probably didn't occur to her that not all people understood her when she started chattering away in French, and if it had, she probably wasn't bothered by it. She snapped the magazine shut and stuffed it into her overly large handbag, looking up at Ryka when she asked about contests. "Oh my goodness, you do not know what Pokemon Contests are? Quel dommage! Non, non, non! Zis will not do, not at all!" Her giggles had changed quite quickly to devastated sobs, and she covered her face with her gloved hands.

Meanwhile, having heard her name, Mismagius decided that the time had come to make her presence known and she popped out of her poke ball. Her ghostly presence caused several people to shriek and try and get as far as possible from her, but it just made Mismagius laugh. The stir in the crowd, however, caused Fantina to look up, and she jumped to her feet. "Ooh, Mismagius, your timing iz impeccable!" she cried, doing another lavish twirl. "Nous sommes arrivés!" She clapped her hands and turned back to Ryka. "Instead of explaining how ze contests work, perhaps I should just show you instead!"

Carlos looked at Train and nodded, happy to see her as interested in the legends like he was. "Really? I've been to Johto a few times too, but I've never seen Suicune before. But what a magnificent beast it is, the embodiment of the north wind. It says here that Suicune has the power to purify water and only reveals itelf only to trainers of pure hearts and peacefull minds. It is one of three legendary beasts in Johto and is said to be the closest to the magnificent Ho-Oh." Looking from the picture of Suicune back to Train he could see she was tranfixed with the beast of the tides. "Ah, te gusta si? Can't blame you. Maravioso! I sure wouldn't mind meeting this one un dia. Hey know what? I was thinking about going to Johto next to investigate Ho-Oh...and if Suicune is as close to Ho-Oh as they say then the two must be connected right? Porque no vienes con mi chika? Come with me, four eyes are better than two right? Ha ha ha."

I knew I should have asked Sasha to teach me some French... Judging by Fantina's demeanor, Ryka figured that she was saying thank you. "You are..welcome?" She replied, a bit unsure but sincere nonetheless. Fantina's sudden change of moods took Ryka by surprise, and her passionate accusation made Ryka feel slightly guilty for not knowing. "I am truly sorry! Back in Johto, we do not have these contests..."

Ryka's apology was interrupted by the entrance of Mismagius. Both she and Iris could only look on at the ghost in awe, the latter reaching out a paw to greet the ghost. Fantina's next suggestion aroused Ryka from her guilty mood. "Oh, yes, please do!" She called out with excitement, eyes glistening like those of a child in a candy store.

"Oh, I know full well that Anna is just as affected by Perish Song as Medicham," Nina commented. "But, Perish Song is just... Hmm." She smiled. "Well, you can call it my insurance policy. Yes, that's it. My insurance." Her smile faded slightly at Mateo's issue of Shadow Ball, which his Medicham executed. That's impressive, she thought, as she watched the Medicham spring into the air and hurl the ball downward towards Anna. I have two options... both could be potentially very effective, but... what to do? After weighing her choices for a moment or two, Nina reached a decision. "Anna! Counter that Shadow Ball attack with Psychic!"

"Right!" the Ghost replied. Closing her eyes and concentrating, a deep blue aura surrounded Anna's entire body. Focus... focus... center... She remained perfectly calm and still, building up a great amount of energy inside of her. In an instant, Anna's eyes snapped open and she quickly fixed her gaze on the incoming attack. She loosed a wave of psychic energy that she had been storing, which struck the Shadow Ball and shot it back to Medicham.

The hand on clock that Anna had summoned moved from the 3 to the 2, and boomed with an ominous ring.

Crenu nodded as Riza turned and ran back towards Vermilion, not giving it much thought. He was too wrapped up in his own thoughts to ask her about it and almost didn't notice what he was nodding to. Why had he lost so easily to Ken? Crenu had already come to terms with the fact that Ken was stronger as a trainer but thi...this was ridiculous! He didn't even get a good attack in and Ken just came out of nowhere with that combo attack. Crenu could still see the attack vividly in his mind, the bubbles wrapped around the stream of fire much like Sevider had wrapped around Starmie. It was...magnificent. The kind of contradicting combination that worked so well together, that's what Crenu needed to master. But it had to be more than that, there had to be something else Ken wanted to show him with that battle. But what was it? This was all too vexing for Crenu's taste, and it made the wound on his arm sting. "Damn...heal already..." He muttered to himself as he rolled up his sleeve to take a better look at his arm, only to see that the bandages were completely soaked, dyed crimson with his blood, there was hardly any white left on the wrap. "The hell? No...no it shouldn't be bleeding like this...not quite healed but the bleeding should have stopped. It's been what, two days? Maybe three? I didn't open it back up I know I was careful..." For the first time Crenu's expression changed, showing concern...almost fear. As he stared as his bloody arm his head raced with explinations, trying to think of every possibility while trying to ignore the one big obvious answer that kept jumping out from the back of his mind. But he couldn't ignore it any longer, there were no other answers to this question. The look on his face turned to panic, then to anger. "Damn it.....damn it damn it damn it DAMN IT!" He hadn't realized it but Crenu had already entered Saffron, but that didn't matter now. He needed to take care of this arm, he couldn't accept this conclusion. It wasn't possible right? RIGHT!? No no....it was just taking to long to heal...yeah that's it. He just...he just needed to cloe it up. For good. Crenu turned and left the city, back onto the road leading to Vermilion. But just until he was far enough from the city to avoid any onlookers, going off he path and looking for a nice private place to set up, picking up any twigs and dried looking wood and grass he could find. He didn't know what Riza was up to but hopefully she'd be busy for a while longer, she'd just try to get in his way if she was there now. All that was on Crenu's mind was his bloody arm, he had to stop it...he had to fix it.

"Well at least they think you are pretty cool." The worker grinned as he looked down at his pokemon. The compass pokemon didn't often get many complements and almost no one thought that he was cool. "Still your complements are not going to get you a win! Nosepass use Tackle!"

"Hey I wouldn't expect you to go easy on me just because I said your pokemon was cool." Robin grinned as she watched the nose pokemon use its magnet like powers to send it flying towards Slowpoke. "Slowpoke let's hit it with your Water Gun when it passes you. If you can." It was always odd to think that her pokemon would attack long after she had commanded it to because its reaction time was so slow. Maybe she should work on that? Eh Slowpoke knew what it was doing, hopefully.

The compass pokemon slammed hard into the Slowpoke bowling it over so that now the dopey pokemon was laying on its back. It didn't seem to notice though because a second later it let out a blast of water towards large nosed pokemon. The water blast hit the rock pokemon in the back. The Nosepass let out a grunt of pain at the super effective hit as Slowpoke realized that it was upside down and started struggling to get up.

It was rather funny because the Slowpoke didn't seem to have the brainpower to right itself and the Nosepass was just kinda funny looking. "Nosepass shake off that water I know you can deal with it! That Slowpoke can't be that much stronger then you! Hit it with your Rock Throw." The compass pokemon picked itself up and using its magnetic attraction it picked up a few rocks and throw them at the Slowpoke.

The bubblegum pink pokemon was sent flying though the air as the rocks crashed down next to him. Most pokemon would be able to catch themselves as they fell but Slowpoke wasn't most pokemon. The Dopey pokemon managed to land on its feet by sheer luck. Robin let out a low whistle of appreciation as her pokemon was now back on its feet. "Slowpoke let's hit them with another Water Gun!" The bubblegum pokemon let out a long low. "Poooooke." Before the dopey pokemon let out another stream of water blasting the Nosepass again.

It turned out that Slowpoke was a lot stronger then the Nosepass since all it took was one more blast of the water to knock the compass pokemon out. "Oh wow, you are really stronger then you look." The worker said with a grin as he recalled his pokemon. "So I take it you are looking for Roark"

Robin recalled her pokemon as she listened to the mine worker. "Roark?" She muttered trying to remember where she had heard that name before. "Oh! Ampersand mentioned him! He is the gym leader here right?"

The embodiment of the north winds… It looked beautiful, it had a beautiful, and it's origin was beautiful. And it apparently had the ability to purify water. So it makes water beautiful, too. Train thought she might just explode from too much intake of beautiful. Pure hearts and peaceful minds…well, maybe that was her? She hadn't done anything horrible or awful that she could think of that would make her a bad person, so maybe…? She snapped out of her thoughts as Carlos began mixing Spanish in with his sentences. She didn't particularly mind it, even though she couldn't understand most of it, except for the blatantly obvious stuff like Mount Moon.

"R-really?" She asked excitedly when Carlos said he was planning on heading to Johto soon, anyway. She'd probably have decided rather quickly to go there, anyway, so this was a nice added plus, having the option to continue finally having a companion to go along with. "I'd love to, that'd be awesome!" She said happily, unable to put into words how amazing it would be if she could come across such a magnificent Pokémon. Though a small other thought was how the word four eyes almost immediately made her think of glasses. She pondered this for a tiny moment, then her thoughts trailed right back to Johto and Suicune and pretty, clear water.

"Really? Que bien!" Carlos said with a big grin as he snatched the book up from Train and snapped it shut, tucking it back under his Poncho. The way it disappeared was almost magical, almost like the tome wasn't even there. But that didn't matter now. "It will be great to have another person to travel with to Johto. I'm sure we will find something, maybe not the legendaries so soon. But every trip yeilds something and brings one more clue to the legends and the pokemon of this world." Carlos lokked around, it was starting to get dark and traversing the mountain now might be dangerous. "Hmm, say chika, before we head to Johto you still need to get that second badge of yours si? We should concentrate on that now, I would like seeing a battle in person. Heh heh, despite my travels I've actually never been to a gym. Ah but it's late, should we keep going through la noche or call it a night?"

Crenu's mind was still buzzing loudly with thoughts that simply wouldn't leave him be. The odds were...just to great. It wasn't 100% that he would have it too. No much lower they said. Probably...he was young when he heard it but he wa sure he remembered it right. "No...its to early. Not yet. It's...its my imagination. I must have gotten careless at some point...brushed my arm to roughly or something. Bent it the wrong way...gotta fix it before it distracts me further." He sounded calm in his mind, but Crenu was sweating now as he started setting things up. He had found a good stop, several meter away from the main road. He had sat on the ground, making a pile with the twigs and tinder he had found along the way. The battle he had just had with Ken, his tie with Surge, getting closer to Riza, it all seemed so distant now. All he could see was a hospital bed with a man, hair similar to his but a different color, laying there day after day. The man started off healthy looking and strong with a smile, and each day he grew weaker and weaker as he withered away...a small blond boy watching by the foot of the bed. The memories flashed in the depths of Crenu's eyes as the pile in front of him was engulfed by flames. The red light flickered on his body as he sat there staring at the fire, removing his coat and laying beside him, the blood soaked bandages around his arm doing little now as the blood now ran down his arm and dripped off of his fist. The sight was unbearable, this would not do. In his bag Crenu took out his collapsable bike, using the bike took to disasemble it and remove the pieces, taking the longest flattest part from the frame that he could remove and sticking about half of it into the blazing fire. He said nothing to himself now, didn't even think, he just stared at the bloody bandages as he started to remove them from his arm, so full of blood that he could feel the weight the wrap had gained as blood was squeezed from the fabric as he undid the entire thing, the red rag making a moist plop when he tossed it aside. He could see it clearly, the spot where the Ekans' dug it's fangs into Crenu's arm, the length of the tear it made as it sliced his flesh when he drew his arm away and the point where the fangs were ripped out of his arm. A painful memory, especially since the bite looked as fresh as it did that day. Reopening wouldn't make it look like this...maybe it was nothing. A side effect of the poison maybe? As optemistic as that theory was, the blatantly obvious fact was that one way or another, Crenu's body wasn't healing itself anymore, at least not as quickly as it should have been. "If you won't close up the wound....then I will." using the last of his water Crenu washed away the blood that had collected on his arm, breathing hard as he steeled his mind and nerves to do what was necessary. This was the only way, he was far to inefficient with a wounded arm like this. He couldn't afford any form of weakness, he had to eliminate all problems as they appeared. In fact it shouldn't have taken so long. He wasn't sick, he was alrifht, just careless. Just careless, nothing more. It wasn't him...the poison. The poison and his mindlesness nothing more. An accident. A coincidence. No trouble, nothing big. Nothing he couldn't fix. No weakness...no weakness ever. No weakness. No weakness. No weakness. As he repeated this over and over in his head, Crenu wrapped his right hand with his coat and grabbed the red hot piece of metal he had put in the fire, the heat radiating through as it burned his coat as well as his hand, but Crenu didn't notice. All he saw was his outstretched left arm, the open wound starting to bleed again. No weakness, no weakness. "NO WEAKNESS! AHHHHHHHH!" There was a sizzling sound as the smell of burning flesh filled the stale air, Crenu held the hot piece of bike flatly againt his wound as his body trembled from the pain. He held it as steady as he could while he yelled, no longer able to take it he thrw the bike piece aside to the dirt where it would lay sizzling as it rappidly cooled, his palm trembling as a portion of the coat had burned away leaving his palm red and burned, his arm looking the same if not a bit worse. But thw wound was sealed up, no longer bleeding, fixed as Crenu had wanted. He sat there trembling, trying to recover from the flash of intense pain. But even that was overshadowed by his grin, he looked so contend. "All...all better now...no weakness...no weakness...no weakness..."

"Yeah, most trainers who come down here are looking for the gym leader. In fact the workers who work here are actually trainers at his gym." The worker chuckled as if there was some private joke. "Anyway Roark just left. If you hurry you can probably catch him before he leaves the mine."

Laughing Robin grinned and ran over and grabbed Ampersands arm. "Thanks a lot for the tip and the battle! It was a lot of fun I need to run though if I am gunna catch him though." With her other hand Robin waved energetically before running off dragging the older man and the sleeping Luffy with her. "Lets go Amp! I need to catch him!"

"Don't you need to heal your pokemon first?" Ampersand chided her but Robin didn't seem to hear him. The older man just rolled his eyes, he had never met someone with such a force of personality. He hardly had to say anything, or really do anything because she and her team, no they were her friends, were so energetic.

They were on such a rush to get out of the mines and to find the gym leader that they smashed right into someone knocking all three of them to the ground. The four of them landed hard on the ground with a loud and collective 'Ouf!'. Robin started laughing, Luffy woke up and started laughing with her at the predicament both of them no help at all to Ampersand who was trying to untangle the four of them. The person they had run into was wearing the traditional mining outfit and was covered in dirt.

"Wow, its been a long time since I was ever hit that hard by something." The person they hit laughed, at least he wasn't mad, as Ampersand helped him out.

He was surprisingly young to be working in the mines. Ampersand thought as he watched the man pick up his hard hat and stick it on his head. "Yeah well, Robin is pretty excited. Sorry we bumped into you." Ampersand offered since Robin was busy at the moment.

"Its all right, I was just heading back to take a quick shower. It's been a long day, and I still have some more work at the gym to do." The younger man grinned at the older man as he futilely brushed his dirty clothes off.

"The gym?" Robin and Luffy seemed to sober up and they both looked up to take a good look at the man they had run into. He seemed really young to be a gym leader, he was older then Robin though and he had a job so he was a lot more responsible then them. 'He's kinda cute to.' Robin thought as she stared up at the boy. Picking herself up Robin stared at the older boy as she paid a bit more attention to him.

"Yup, I happen to be Roark the gym leader of the gym here in Oreburg. I take it you are a pokemon trainer who wants to challenge me?" Roark was actually looking at Robin when he said that which was surprising since most people thought Ampersand was the trainer.

Grinning Robin placed a hand on her hip and stared at the other. "I, Robin Knight, sure am here to challenge you. I need to make a stop at the pokemon center though. I had a battle with one of your construction workers down there."

Roark laughed and looked down at himself. "I need a shower, how about you go heal your pokemon up while I take a shower. We can meet up at my gym in about a half an hour."

"That sounds good to me." Robin and Roark shook hands before they both headed off towards there respective destinations.

Nova still didn't seem very impressed by the little blue blob of a penguin before her, as even though she knew he was of the Water-type, she was able to sense that he was young, and quite inexperienced. He also seemed very sure of himself, and a bit cocky, as well. The Charmeleon snorted and shook her head before looking back over at her trainer again. Kasiya wasn't even telling him that he was in over his head! Alphonse, meanwhile, continued to stare up at the fiery lizard, his eyes narrowed in determination. If any part of him knew that Nova was much stronger than he was, he wasn't showing it as he took a step forward, chest still stuck out proudly. "Alphonse, give her a Water Pulse," Kasiya said, currently oblivious to her two Pokemon's attitudes towards each other. "And Nova, dodge!"

"Piiplup piiip!" the tiny penguin cried, thrusting his flippers forward as he lobbed the sphere of water forward. It crashed into the ground and sped towards Nova, seemingly gathering speed and power as it neared her.

"Chaar!" roared Nova, still not at all impressed (for she'd seen way more impressive Water-type attacks from Leviathan). She knew she was supposed to be dodging, and it would have been quite easy for her to get out of the way, but she would much rather show this little runt how things really were. Flames were already starting to spew from her mouth as she threw back her head and with another roar she sent a jet of fire directly into the oncoming Water Pulse. Nova's Flamethrower cut through the water like a hot knife through butter, leaving a large enough gap in the water to keep the Charmeleon from getting even the tiniest bit wet, though the flames didn't even come close to reaching Alphonse. Steam rose up all around her from all the evaporated water, making for a nice effect around Nova.

"Wow, okay," Kasiya said as she watched the steam rising up around her Charmeleon. "That's not quite what I had in mind, but it was awesome!" Nova smirked and snorted out another puff of smoke, while opposite her, Alphonse folded his flippers across his chest and sulked.

Now there's a last-ditch effort if I ever saw one, Jaeshan thought, wincing a little at the sight of the severely-burned Exeggutor. He was amazed to see that the Grass and Psychic-type was still standing, but he figured that it was mostly due to Shelgon not being a Fire-type, and therefore her Flamethrower, while strong, wasn't as powerful as one coming from a Pokemon of the fire element. He'd had enough of his Pokemon suffering from status ailments, and he had no intentions of losing Shelgon to Exeggutor's Hypnosis. "Shelgon, Protect yourself!" he shouted.

Shelgon couldn't agree more, as she knew just how useless she'd be if she were to be put to sleep right now. The shell-clad dragon stomped her forelegs down hard on the ground, creating a glowing, green barrier which temporarily served as a shield as a means of protection against Exeggutor's Hypnosis. The Protect faded once the Coconut Pokemon's eyes returned to normal.

Erika wasn't entirely shocked to see her Pokemon's Hypnosis blocked, and the same would probably happen again if she tried something else. So, having no other choice, she figured she would use her last move to go out with a bang. "Exeggutor, Wood Hammer!" she shouted. It was one of her Pokemon's strongest attacks, and she knew Exeggutor didn't have the focus left to pull off one last Psychic attack.

The Coconut Pokemon sensed its demise was near as well, and all its heads let out a determined battle cry as it charged forward, rearing back to slam its body into the dragon for its last hurrah.
