Popo nodded once more. She was curious what the final touches would entail considering Popo had never done this before. Not even in her wildest dreamds had she ever imagined herself actually wearing Geisha makeup. She was finally going to get to experience the things she dreamed about, but never knew she'd ever get the change to do.. This was one exciting day for Popo.
((If that all didn't make too much sense, it's because I'm swamped with essays for my finals and it's late, so I've lost my ability to think clearly. If you know what I'm saying, congrats to you. If not, terribly sorry.. gonk ))

Iyasu pulled out a box of matches from her vanity and then a simple tool, looking a like a stick from Tanpopo's make up. She struck a match and set the tool a light. After a few seconds of burning, the geisha blew out the flame and let it cool before applying the charcoal to the immuto's brow. She put the burnt tool away and picked up to brushes and small jar of red.
"This, if for the red around your eyes and your lips." Iy-chan smiled as she opened the jar and applied each brush to red mixture. "Close your eyes, please." She applied the red to the lid of Popo-chan's right eye, "Now, why don't try applying the rest."

Popo did as Iyasu asked and well. Popo was a quick learner and finished up without too many mistakes. A smile formed on her face, "Onee-san! Look! Didn't I do well?! I did, didn't I?!" Her excitement was obvious. She wanted nothing more to please Iyasu for she had disappointed her so much before. Popo hoped that her job on finishing up her face was satisfactory and wait anxiously for her older sister's response..

"Excellent job, immuto! You learn quickly, that is a very important skill to own!" She beamed to her, showing that she approved and did very well. "Now, why don't we go for a walk with Yokome?"

Yokome took her tea glass and set it in the wash bin. She then walked up to Popo's room. She glided carefully up the stairs and peaked her head in. 'How is the make-up going?' Yokome said. 'Why, Tanpop-chan, you looks sooo beautiful!'

Popo blushed heavily, although she doubt it showed. "Thanks everyone. I feel so special.." She rose and hugged Iyasu tightly before running over to Yokome and hugging her as well. She was happy. She was succeeding for the first time since she arrived and this made her a very happy girl. And the makeup made her feel all that much more happy. She felt so special with it on. Popo beamed with joy.

Sen Haruki (5) Sen smiled at Taiyou and Yukiko. Two friends in under five minutes? She was very happy with herself! "Yes. Let`s go. And it`s called an `okiya`. I wonder where we`re supposed to sleep." Sen said, half to herself, half to Taiyou. She twirled a piece of her red curly hair around her fingers, this was going to be difficult. She had a whole new set of rules and a whole different lifetsyle to learn. And she hoped she wouldn`t make too many mistakes. "An okiya . . ." She repeated unwillingly. This world rattled and rocked in her head as she walked over to okiya main door way. She slipped of her wooden zori and stepped inside the okiya. The scents of fine perfume and cooking rice filled her nose as she stepped in further.

Alluya started to walk to the other side of the floor to scrub since she was sure the sooner she got this floor done the sooner she could relax. This was her first day being here and when she had came this morning in the darkness, escorted by her mother she had been upset to find out that she would not be allowed to rest until she finished all her work. Her first task had been to fetch whatever was needed by the cook for breakfast, then clean the bathrooms and then scrub the bottom floor. She was sure once she finished and relaxed in the maid's room she would be called on by a geisha to clean up something though she hadn't been called on all day. The okaasan had seemed nice when she saw her but now that she was living here Alluya did not know whom was nice and who was mean.
Seeing some step in from the okiya door started Alluya who jumped slightly, pressing the wet rag against her clothing. Seeing that they weren't geishas she gave a quick bow and eyed the girls. They weren't maiko neither, they had to be maids.
"Uh...hey..." Started Alluya glancing around before speaking.

Taiyou reflexively bowed to the girl when she said 'hey.' As she stood up, she looked over the girl infront of her. She was a maid, just like her. "Koniich wa. My name is Taiyou, or Tai-chan to my friends." She introduced herself. She thought it would be better to create friends than enemies, espeically on her arrival in this strange world. Maybe this girl could even tell her a few things about the okiya and the people living here. *~8~*

Yokome embraced Tanpopo back with a smile across her face. 'You do look so pretty! And are becoming a real maiko now. Isn't that sucha wonderful feeling?' Yokome said.

Yukiko looked at girl while Taiyou was introducing herself. She looked rather restless compared to Taiyou. Her eyes moved to wet rag girl was holding in her hand.
"Yukiko Yumenouta." she said. "What are you doing?" she asked moving her glance to girl's face.
Cleaning... her mind responded to her. But even if she did only cleaning in this okiya, she still had neater clothes than the old rags she wore. She felt ashamed a bit, she could feel blood rushing to her face causing her blush. Though her mother loved it when she blushed, she hated it. 'Roses bloomed up on my Yuki's cheeks again, you look beautiful.' she used to say.

"Ah good! Yokome, would you like to take a walk with us?" She smiled as she slide her room door closed, "I thought we could take a walk to the shrine! I'll help Tanpopo remove her make up, Yokome why don't you go select out your zori, or unless you wish to help your sister remove her make up?"

lestats1stlover Kaori bowed her head and sliped back out. Once in the hall she looked down it in the gloomyness. She visable shiverd dark places had never been her strong suit but she had to repay the gesiah for helping her. She carefuly slid her feet acroos the well worn floor before looking back at the door to Kyoku's room. She musterd her curage and moved quickly dow the hall. So quickly she nearly slid into the wall when she came to it. She gasped and rubbed her toe lightly on the back of her calf. she pulled the door open and looked inside. The writing was beautiful but small. she closly instected them till she found the one Kyoku had asked for. she pulled the box out and sat it on the floor before kneeling on the floor to look for the obi. It took her longer to find because it had been pused to one side and another abi box stuffed infront of it. She fixed the other box and pulled the one for Kyoku out and sat it lightly on top of the kimono box. She lifted them both surprised at there weight that she almost droped them and banged her head on the ladder. She rubbed her forehead before she walked out. she sat the boxes down and then pulled the door to. Kaori grapled with both boxes down the hall nearly toppling over into Kyoku's door. she sat the boxes down and slid the door open and steped in pulling the boxes along the floor lightly. she pushed the door closed and lifted the boxes off the floor. She sat them by Kyopku and proceded to open the kimono box. (25) "Arigato Kaori-chan, i hope it wasnt too much trouble!" Kyoku looked at the girl as she pulled out the heavy silk garment and then continued rubbing the wax into her skin. In a few seconds she was finished and then pulled out the famous white makeup that would cover her skin. Watching Kaori from her mirror she spread it over her entire face and neck, using a hand mirror to paint the suggestive two prongs of bare skin at the nape of her neck. "Go ahead and lay them out on my futon, then i need my collar stitched onto my Juban, its in the chest over there in the corner, get the white collar and you should see the needle and thread there, it isnt hard, it just needs to be lightly sewn onto the collar of the juban already on my futon." Kyoku continued with her makeup, powerdering her fave to porcelien perfection.

'Yes Onee-san. I would love to take a walk to the shrine.' Yokome was thrilled that Popo-chan was now Iyasu-san's younger sister, that ment that they could all do things together. 'I can grab a pair of zori real quick and then help Tanpopo-can. I'll be right back, Onee-san.' She said, anxious to do both. She took a bow below she departed and then went to the cupboard where the zori were stored. She selected a red pair to match her kimono and set them out near the doorway. She rushed back up stairs.
'I'm back.' She said, a little short of breath, 'I can help you take off your make-up Tanpopo-chan!'

Popo giggled a bit at Yokome and nodded. "Thank you, Yokome. You're a great sister and friend." Popo smiled as she hugged Yokome again. She was happy to have both Iyasu and Yokome in her life. Popo was happy..
