Yamato1 Tatsuman Yamato1 xXxBusterxXx TtheHero Can anyone name who and what was nerfed in particular? I know one was Kirby, and Ness was another, but is there anyone else? question The 3 that got nerfed on melee were Kirby, Ness and Pikachu. Can someone explain to me how Ness and Pikachu were "nerfed"? I understand with kirby. It's blatantly obvious how badly he was affected between SSB and SSBM. But what about Ness and Pikachu?
Ness lost his godly up and down smashes, unfair PK Thunder2 recovery distance, and he lost his instant spike, and it was replaced with a laggy meteor smash.
Pikachu lost the ability to be a cheap b*****d by Thundering you off of the top of the stage without any chance to dodge.
Hmm... I suppose. Though they are still strong characters. *shrug* I second Pika and Kirby in serious matches, but Ness borders on unplayable for me. Weird since I used to main him.
But then again, maybe he's just too different from his 64 style for me...meh.

Meta_Fish TtheHero Ohh, I see... You know what's funny? When someone goes up at almost 90 degrees when they get hit by a full Super Scope blast! And it's even funnier when they fall on the TV scren afterwards!Ha, HA! rofl I'm glad they put that in! H-hilarious. Now that you can walk with the guns, I wonder how different it'll play.

Oh! I just remembered! Here's something for being a cheap gamer in Melee.
1. Set the damage ratio to 2.0.
2. Play as Pichu.
3. During battle just keep using his midair A attack. (Don't press a direction, JUST A)
4. Watch as opponents go flying offscreen! rofl
Now THAT'S being cheap! Aren't you people glad Pichu's not in anymore?

Y'know Tats.. I can't help but notice you like characters for n00b reasons. ((This post means Ness has this stuff in Melee)) Admitting Ness is severly cheap in melee. And on many occations you've talked of Falco's Aerial downward A, the spike of death. Could you live with using a character without some super cheap move? Like, let's say... Dr. Mario. His cape doesn't last as long or have near as much effect as reg. Mario.

His recovery is interceptable, his ledge game is broken (as in is sucks) because of his DJC, and his yoyos aren't nearly as powerful as they should be.
Unless you count the Yo Yo Glitch. It's hard to pull off, but is so uber cheap it's not even fair.

Then I guess it worked. I do like a character to have at least one really good move. Just to know I can rely on it to break combos, or get a kill.
But as to cheapness, I can make DK cheap if you play Falcon, Fox, or Falco

I wouldn't say unstoppable. Though AngryLobster is ******** insane with Ness. That guy is so awesome xd
I haven't played in any tourneys. I'm 50 miles away, and don't have my license yet. :XP:
