He was unconscious at the moment... But even then, his senses were beginning to sharpen, and if one looked closely they might notice his canines lengthening...

Amu felt him wake, she looked at him, "Yoshi...I..." She didn't know what to say. She looked ashamed of herself. And she was dizzy, she hadn't slepped, and the sun would be up in two hours.

He got up on bent knees, growling slightly. He wasn't entirely rational at the moment...

He immediately pushed her aside; it wasn't enough to knock her over, mind you. It merely suggested that he was older and more dominant, and was supposed to go first. He leapt onto it fiercely, digging into the flesh with his new claws and draining the blood ravenously. From a distance, it would look like he was hugging the corpse; he had sprawled all over it to point out that it was his. As soon as he was satisfied, he got off it with a slurping gasp. His eyes returned to normal, and he smiled at Nena. "Your turn. I hope I left some for you."
(And now you're gonna wonder how the hell he can be so calm about it and your character address the issue by saying something like "Do you know what you just did? How can you just sit there and smile like it's casual?" But you're probably gonna write something different, and throw this prediction way off course.)
