BandNerdsrHawt tested_and_true lol. yeah and plus it doesnt change your sound any. only you as the musician can change the sound. ^_^ XDD and i consider myself good for being 1st chair in the symphonic band. lol....i hate chair placement tests though...for the one that i did this year we had to play all 12 major scales, 2 octaves or one but you had to do it twice, in under 3 minutes and all i did was slur it all up and down and i got 45 seconds XDD its like cheating but it wasnt cheating. lol. hehe not true. it's weird but my 3C has a more open sound. and yeah i guess i'm good, but i'm too lazy to try for 1st chair...yeah... hehe is too true. all the mouthpiece does is control how much air you blow through. DUH! go ask your band director after break, unless you like live next to him or something...well that'd kinda be scary if you lived next to him or her. Anyways yes thats what it does I asked my band director when i got a new mouthpiece. Yeah we have chair placement tests' but they are recorded so its not like based on his opinion of the person but their sound and technical things like that. we get a number at random and he listens to the recordings and gives us a grade.

my teacher decided to do chairs for our trumpet section........cuz there's like 10 or so of us. that's why when she needed a french horn player i decided to try it. i hate the idea of sections in junior high school.

uchiha_nicole my teacher decided to do chairs for our trumpet section........cuz there's like 10 or so of us. that's why when she needed a french horn player i decided to try it. i hate the idea of sections in junior high school. I dont realunderstand how having chairs for a trumpet section or any other section is bad. Ever since 5th grade ((when i started)) we have had chairs seperating out sections. It is really effective and i find it easier to be around people with the same part as me so if i screw up i can tell or if they screw up i will bother the hell out of them... fun stuff... biggrin . Just wait till you get to highschool.... though technically i am still in middle school... 8th grade is part of highschool where i live, i love it! twisted

I play, Tennis, Baseball, and Basketball for my school, as well as doing band. So others have more time to practice, and another great plus...I have braces. >Gonk<

Ha ha..i don't knw what to put so i will just answer the poll question...sadly i only have one...its a gold bach....o and something kind of funny ..we call are section the smurf's section since i'm the only girl they've had.....maybe since the 80's....lol....and then the guy i sit next to is papa smurf..haha..

I am the section leader of the trumpet in my band there are three of us in concert, wo technically because one never plays. But Because of me(even band drector says it) we have actually started to get louder and stronger. Any tips to make a two trumpet section better than a normal trumpet section?

kingcorrupted I am the section leader of the trumpet in my band there are three of us in concert, wo technically because one never plays. But Because of me(even band drector says it) we have actually started to get louder and stronger. Any tips to make a two trumpet section better than a normal trumpet section? I can't say much because we're still trying to get our 6-person trumpet section to sound like a normal trumpet section rolleyes . All I can say is that you can sound good and louder if you play in tune and aim for a similar tone.

i hav one trumpet and i just joined the guild on Dec 28, 2007. i am a beginner at my school and i've been playing for about 4 months and have been in 1 concert. my next performance is at Knott's Berry Farm.

So others have more time to practice, and another great plus...I have braces. >Gonk< I play tennis, basketball, i run track and i do marching band and i have AP classes and i have time to practice...... but braces dont effect your playing too much either you just have to learn how to play with them on is all...i admit thats hard but you'll get better when you get used to it.
