Jonah Hex Awesome game. I hope there's a sequel. I paid more then I usually would for a game, but it was worth it. Especially since the gamemakers remembered that left-handed people play the DS too. Only wish I hadn't screwed up my one chance to use the vending machine... stressed I think I missed my chance to go left handed.

Really? They ask you at the beginning of the game.
Here's another tip; if you get a "Game Over," turn off the DS and turn it on again to restart. If you just start over again keeping the DS on, it counts it against you and you lose a chance at an epilogue to the ending.

Jaeger_Ayers Technologist Tony Stark I haven't seen SPL or Oldboy yet- they're high up the list- but the sauna knife fight in Eastern Promises was pretty insane. Part of me was just frozen in a trance at the scene and the other part was thinking "I'd like to see Sasha Baron Cohen try that." xd The best part about all this is that I get to call it research. ;D Both movies kick the hell out of the viewer, so you've been warned. Duly noted.

I actually have that on my SNES right now, in fact.
I like FF3 better, but only because of the Opera scene.

I've switched it, but I was getting along fairly well right-handed. I've only just gotten to Chapter 2 and will be finding whomever was whistling shortly. I'll keep the "game over" tip in mind. So far, it all seems simple enough. The game does have a great feel to it. I got it used and heard it's pretty hard to come by.

There's an 'unofficial' prequel that uses a similar game engine called "Trace Memory", but Hotel Dusk is an infinitely superior game. Possibly because the main character isn't a sickeningly cute anime girl.
Gameplay is actually pretty similar to the Phoenix Wright games, if you're looking for something to get into when you've finished off HD.
The other DS game I really enjoyed was "Trauma Center: Under the Knife" which has similar gameplay, except you're a surgeon performing progressively harder surgeries in each chapter. In the finale I just about threw my DS through a window, it was so damn hard.

I read a review for the Trauma Center preview, and heard everyone here rave about Phoenix Wright. Thing is, the DS is really the Missus's little toy so I'm not getting a bunch of games for it. I've thought about getting a DS for myself, but I think that's going a bit overboard.

I do really like mine, especially for traveling.
Nice thing about the Phoenix Wright games and Trauma Center is that, like Hotel Dusk, you can play them in short spurts. You don't have to sit there for two and a half hours trying to beat level 3-4 like some games, and you don't have to waste hours leveling up before you challenge the Tar Pit Boss or anything like that.
They're more like reading a comic book that's interactive.

That's true. I've been managing to get in a couple conversations here and there while everyone's taking a nap or something.

They're addictive. I hope that Hotel Dusk and Trauma Center end up getting sequels.
You can generally get the first two Phoenix Wright games pretty cheap. I paid like $13 for the first game.
