Draeken Aakarshan

PostPosted: Mon Feb 12, 2007 12:10 pm

Tears began streaming down Draeken's face as the pain was numbed by Truinthil's words. This was it. The end. Phia. He wouldnt be able to see her, hold her, kiss her. Aria andDevon.

Falling to his knees, still bleeding profusely, Draeken stared emptily at the high, vaulted ceiling of the entry hall of the Mansion. His body shuddered as the poison worked it vile purpose on him, but he remained kneeling, even as his skin began to discolor. He would never see his clan rise from the dishonor his father had brought upon it. He would never see his two children fully grown. His own story was to be ended before he had ever imagined it would.

Old Draeken had ceased his yammering and screaming, sighing gently. Softly he spoke to his young descendant. This is it. The end of my time. I hadnt expected it to end this way. I hadnt wanted it to end like with you dying as well. I'm not sure how I would have preferred it, but...There's no fixing us now. My own past came back to haunt me, and you, yet again.

Reminder: Cover retreating forces - Sai and Focht.

The boy running from the four chrono-clerics would dive towards the Mansion, barely escaping debris as they whizzed past. Tucking into a roll brought him into the foyer before the four could get in his way, giving the injured boy at least a fighting chance as he came to his feet. White blood still streaming from his arm, he grasped the blade in his good hand. He faced the four as bravely as he could, wings aflutter with anger.

Jezebel merely chuckled at Basaran's attempt, before launching yet another volley of fire. This time the fire was aimed at Xol, the two heavy 180mm shells launched at the roof just behind him. At the speed and distance between the two dodging would be nearly impossible, as would further time-bending. Of course the shells wouldn't hit Xol directly, just nearly enough to blow away any lesser creature.

As for D's impending death, KB offered only a few words.

Chin up Draeken, be a warrior to the end.

And for the Trio who were betrayed, to be swept away by T's hand...

Don't say I never offered.

And that was that. With such a blade in existance many of KB's plans were endangered/ Hopefully the thing would be removed from his gaze quickly, lest T accidently find himself on the wrong side of a very discerning fence.

He didn't hesitate to shove Sai to the side, out of the way of the attack. Doing so slowed him down enough that it would be a close call for dodging. Spinning and side stepping the attack, it nicked his left cheek, high enough to cut the strap on his eye patch.If Xol was paying attention to the surroundings, he might have noticed the 2 pieces of Focht's broken katana off to the side on the roof.

"Well.... you could have waited until I was in a better mood. But yes, we have put this off for too long Xol.... But are you sure you want to fight me while I am unarmed?"

As the explosions on the roof went off, he created a large wall of air that was curved so the blast was redirected in more of an upward direction than toward Xol, Sai and himself. The rush of air managed to blow the eye patch off revealing what was hidden beneath. Where Focht's left eye should have been was a smooth, silver surface that seemed to be moving as if it was a liquid. There were still some signs of the burns that had come with that souvenir.

KB..... get Sai out of here.... I can handle Xol for now.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 12, 2007 1:55 pm

Two concussive blasts hit a ways behind him and he put up a wall of air as well, deflecting or bouncing back any debris that Focht's own shield missed. He took a moment to contemplate his surroundings and both blades zipped back top his hands with uncanny speed. "Very well Focht. I may be what I am, but I still have some semblence of honor."

Xol eyed the broken pieces of a katana around him and with a clearing of the throat they were swept towards his foe in a slight gust of wind. They skid to a stop a few feet in front of him. "Enguard."

With the eye patch off, he smirked, Mastema had left Focht quite the souvenir indeed.

Focht sighed, this was one fight he would have prefered to avoid but it didn't look like things would allow it.

"Are you sure you want this Xol?"

Even as he was speaking, he wasn't wasting time. Shifting his stance, Focht adopted a stance that seemed very poor for a fight like this, his feet apart and his hands opened and palm up as if waiting for something.

Xol laughed, a laugh befit a psychotic soul right before twisting a sword through a loved ones neck. Did Focht think this was going to be some epic to the end kind of fight? Pffft. This was Xol bored and finding a suitable play thing. "Focht. Pick up your sword and make this fun or else I'll take your girl friend, pound her in front of you and then twist her neck off. Perhaps then she'll be of some use as I can toy around with her spinal column and make a toothpick or something."

Xol was hoping Focht would be more forthcoming with all of this. Then again, he always knew him as a turn the other cheek and wait untill your friends were in dire trouble to help kind of fighter. Maybe he had set his hopes too high.

Focht took a few steps forward and kicked the broken pieces over the edge of the roof.

"I don't think I will need that to beat you."

He smirked and sent a small blast of air to taunt Xol.

"After all, you never have been able to land a solid hit on me. You always have to use something fancy to get a chance...."

Still waiting for Xol to make the first offensive move.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 12, 2007 3:14 pm

Xol shrugged off the blast of air before dashing forward nonchalantly, his speed being erratic at first and then much more graceful and paced as he neared Focht. "I stopped being ridiculously overconfident and cocky long ago friend." He smirked, mocking Focht before stopping abruptly.

His right blade dissapeared and a pulse of dark matter reverberated out towards Focht. The material on the roof would crack and shudder as the force of the attack moved above it towards Focht. The left blade would disappear through the roof and move to strike the man from underneath.

|| Dark matter is just Xol's own form of purely destructive energy. It holds no element. FYI. ||

"You can try, Truinthil, but let's examine the truth here. There's no antidote now, but there will be. As long as an antidote exists in any timeline, as in inevitably will, I can draw it to myself. Beyond which, whatever you do to D or the ladies, I haven't a care. You've already made my primary objective all the more simple." Erudemasa said as he smiled. He had been mildly surprised to see Truinthil lunge at Draeken, expecting him to rather go after the perceived threat to his existence. However, history had taken one of the many divergent truths.

Eru brandished his spear, this time with a bit more grace than before. The movements seemed more fluid and connected. He smiled and continued "I never intended to erase the soul. My job is to prevent paradox, not cause it. Old D will be removed, as ought to suit the masters of Kyiana and Sundel, but I have a use for the soul myself, so I apologize, but I guess I'll have to deploy my back up plan." Erudemasa then lunged forward at an impossible speed. It was simple to speed one's own actions as well as slowing the flow of time around. Before anyone could take a single step, Erudemasa's lance, borrowed on a long-term basis from Mastema, pierced Draeken in the chest.

~~~Two months ago~~
"So I helped get Xol out with minimum damage. You said you'd give me a hand with my task, so I'm here to collect." Erudemasa said, standing in Mastema's Citadel at a much calmer point and speaking with the master. Wordlessly, Mastema threw a red, dual pronged spear towards him which Eru fumbled with slightly before catching it.
"That might be a bit too much weapon for you, short one, but there it is." Mastema said, facing away from Erudemasa. "That will help with your task. There are a lot of precautions and explanations I should give you....... but since I don't really care what happens, here it is: Sharp end go in body."
Erudemasa blinked a few times before asking "And...it steals souls or something?"
Mastema replied in a completely deadpan voice, "Well, otherwise it would be a little useless to your task, wouldn't it? It will ensnare the soul of whoever it pierces and store it within itself for later removal or whatever you want to do with it. So you don't want to try pole vaulting with it. Now get out."
As the spear passed through the opposite side, sparks of lighting could be seen flickering between the prongs of the blade. Old Draeken was now trapped in Erudemasa's back-up plan. The venom in the body would have corroded the soul on some level, but a little removal and rinsing might do it some good. As he pulled the spear out, he faced Truinthil with a smile on his face. "You made my job of trying to get the soul away from the pair of them so much easier than it would otherwise have been. Thank you."
"Ah... so according to you, you are just a pain in the a** these days......"
Focht smirked and jumped up and to the side, easily clearing the destructive energy. He didn't seem too worried about the blade that had gone into the roof at the moment. If Xol followed Focht's movements, it would be rather hard to notice the counter. When Focht had kicked the 2 pieces of the katana off the edge, he caught them with simple manipulations of air. It didn't take much for him to bring them up to chest height and send them like throwing weapons arcing around the wave of destructive energy toward Xol. Even as the 2 blades were sent in Xol's direction, Focht was already beginning to alter the air in another manner. He seemed to be holding back, waiting for something. Over all, it seemed as if Focht was just having fun with this fight, not taking it seriously.
~~~Two months ago~~~
Seeing Mastema in person had the expected result on Pleasant, hearts in the eyes and high pitched giggling as she devoured him with her eyes. Nana would likely commit murder in the first degree if she could see such a thing.

Trip on the other hand, had a far more interesting reaction.

"Don't let him know we're here Eru, pretend we don't exist until we leave this place."
~~~The Present~~~
In the present, their rolls had switched. Trip was enthused by the action, shadow-boxing on Eru's shoulder while keeping up a constant stream of commentary.
"What a feeling you know? Good to be back in the saddle again. I can't wait to get a taste of this old bugger. Will it be rich like aged wine? Firey like top shelf vodka? Maybe sharp like fine cheese, or even tender like a masterfully prepared steak. Or could it be dry dry old bones devoid of marrow, mutton left out in the sun. Sweet? Bitter? Spicy? Tart? The myriad of possibilities only lends more strongly to the thrill of anticipation."
As Trip fixates, Pleasant is quiet, standing in close proximity to Eru's ear.
"Besurethisiswhatyoureallywishtodo,Erudemasa."
With a sigh, Truinthil slouched as if dissapointed. "Too bad. Now I definately will have to end your life as well as that Kyiana woman's. According to my wishes and needs, both Draeken's must be exterminated. If not, that's just one more possible obsticle I will have to deal with every time I wish to achieve something on a grand scale."
Slowly, while he had been speaking, a needle thin piece of bone, exiting unseen from the bottom of his foot, had been burrowing it's way into the floor a small ways. It traveled speedily, once underneath the hard tiled floor, to the right only to raise back above the surface of the floor into some shadows. Then using his shadow traveling abilities channeled through that piece of bone, Truinthil enabled the needle thin body part to extend itself rapidly towards Erudemesa, becoming two inches thick as it continued to extend into a rather imposing spike of bone.
Truinthil, however, being aware of the energies that flowed through the fabric of reality and time had the ability to at least gauge when Erudemesa would use his time altering abilities. In being able to feel such actions within a short distance around him, he poised himself ready to have that small spike of bone, extending rapidly from a small patch of shadows behind Erudemesa, create multiple spikes that would branch off from the main one in dozens of directions. In doing such he would at the very least prevent much movement on Erudemesa's part if he were to try and slow down or speed up the time around himself.
EDIT:
From a doorway only a small distance to the left of the main entry hall, the original Truinthil stepped towards the scene. A look of sadness touched his eyes as he looked upon the figure of Draeken. That sadness was replaced however, with anger as he watched Erudemesa take the soul of Old Draeken. Hastening towards the scene, Truinthil spoke loudly and with a small touch of anger, "Though it pains me to say so, I would rather you allow this old soul to depart to the afterlife here and now. I would not have you toy with him. Though I seperated myself from him long ago, I still can say that I am just as much a part of him as he is a part of young Draeken here. And though it pains me to act as such, I shall aide my clone here in keeping Draeken out of your possession."
Twitching his hands, his wrist blades slide down from his forearms which were hidden in the sleeves of the coat he wore. Looking at his clone, he grimaced, then shrugged and smiled. "I see that you have donned the appearance I most preferred back before I was truly my own sentient being. I have to admit, it doesnt look half bad."
Draeken Aakarshan
PostPosted: Mon Feb 12, 2007 11:59 pm
As Erudemesa made his move, the young and rapidly corroding Draeken made no sound of pain or surpise. His nervous system was already, for the most part, destroyed. Old D on the otherhad, was quite aware of what was going on and growled angrily as he was removed from the dying body of Draeken.
Trapped now inside of Erudemesa's strange weapon, his mind would reach out, still as strong and immensely vast as ever, to touch Eru's. Likely, if Erudemesa were to allow full contact with the Old Draeken's mind, he would find himself feeling as if he were peering into an endless abyss of mental awareness. Twenty six millenia of knowledge and memories as well as an astounding level of intelligence would, for a breif moment, present itself to Erudemesa. Though also, just as likely because of Erudemesa's travels through time, it wouldnt seem as imposing as it might to others. Whether or not, however, Erudemesa allowed full contact, a message would be sent loud and clear to him.
"Know that I have eluded time, death, and all other forces that sought my existance ended for nearly ten millenia now. Perhaps even longer, I myself tend to forget things from time to time. Though it was in a dishonorable fashion, I wish to die here and now and though I am in the state I am in I will do all in my power to ensure that you, nor anyone else, has their way with what remains of my soul." Then, pausing in his message for a moment, the old man mentally chuckled at Erudemesa. "I wonder, avatar of time. I wonder if you can reverse your own demise were it to happen before you had a chance to react, even with your ability to manipulate time almost to your hearts desire."
Just as soon as Sai thought the coast was clear for Focht and her to leave. Xol makes his appearance, not too far from them. Sai's eyes narrowed at Xol's comment, and caught the glimpse of his attack, and just as she was firing up a counterattack, She felt Focht shove her to the side. Seeing how they were close to the edge Sai lost her stepping and fell, as she dug her gunlet into the roofing as she slid down the side, her claws Leaving semeterical trenches as she finally caught grip at the edge. Sai glanced down as she hung from the gutter of the mansion. With a sigh, she swung her other hand and pulled herself up with ease.
As she sat there for a moment she suddenly felt a breeze comin gup as the top half of her torn dress, came loose. redface She caught the piece of clothing and tied it aorund her chest once again and glancced around for any peekers. sweatdrop She glanced back up the roof to see Focht and Xol fighting, pondering on what she can do.
Sundel spun her scythe around her right wrist like a propellor and held it out to Erudemasa, and held her other hand out toward Truinthil, powering up an invisible energy to hold the two of them off.
"We'll see how amusing I am once I strip your soul from your body, Truinthil."
She turned to Erudemasa, not even looking at Kyiana as she was affected by the blade.
"You've double crossed us...I don't do well with betrayal. Draeken's soul will be mine...now will you hand it over, or will I have to end you?"
